In Ginza Tanaka, there is a butcher shop known for their menchi katsu and other fried foods. I visited around 3pm on a holiday and there was a long line outside the shop. However, since everyone was just buying fried food, the line moved quickly. I bought a menchi katsu on that day and ate it right there. The crispy coating had a satisfying crunch, and the sweet meat filling inside was a bit spicy. It was a very filling menchi katsu.

Today's takeout adventure took me to Yanaka in Nippori. I walked through the north exit of JR Nippori Station, turned left, climbed the Goten-zaka slope, continued straight, descended the stairs at the entrance of Yanaka Ginza shopping street, and walked along the street until I found "Niku no Suzuki" on my right. This shop, founded in 1933, started as a butcher specializing in Japanese beef and later shifted to handmade deli items. Arriving at the shop around 1:45 PM on a Sunday, I was lucky to find no queue and quickly purchased two "Genki Menchi Katsu" for 250 yen each. Back at home, I enjoyed the juicy and flavorful menchi katsu made with 100% beef and fried in lard. It was delicious and satisfying, leaving me impressed by the chef's dedication to quality. It was a delightful experience, and I look forward to visiting again.

While walking along the Yanaka Ginza shopping street, I picked up some menchi-katsu from Niku no Suzuki that caught my eye. Alongside Menchi-katsu from Niku no Sato, it's considered one of the specialties of Yanaka Ginza. There were photos of celebrities who visited the shop for TV shoots displayed outside. It seems like a great place for foodies to explore. I tried the Genki Menchi-katsu (250 yen) and Shiitake Menchi (250 yen). The menchi-katsu is a blend of Omi beef and Maesawa beef, with a dense meat texture that differs from the usual fluffy ones, offering a unique deliciousness. The coating is not too crispy but rather thin, enhancing the flavor of the meat. The seasoning is well-balanced, making it delicious even without any additional condiments. It was a delightful meal.

Famous delicatessen shop in Ginza Yuzunaka. There are photos of celebrities who have visited the shop lined up outside, and it is said to be a popular spot with long lines. I visited right after opening, so there was no line, but there were constantly people making purchases. I bought the popular menchi-katsu. The menchi inside the thin coating was juicy and perfect for snacking while walking around.

During a stroll in Ginza Yurakucho, I visited this place recommended by a friend for its delicious menchi-katsu. I decided to try the standard dish first, the Genki Menchi-katsu. It was warm, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside, making it a perfect snack to enjoy with some drinks. Priced at 250 yen per piece, it was surprisingly satisfying in size, easy to finish in a few bites. It's a great option for food-tasting while walking around. They also offer a variety of other fried dishes, so I look forward to trying them next time.

One of the popular shops in Yanaka, along with Sato-san's meat shop. I visited a little before noon on Sunday. I was expecting a bit of a wait since it's a popular shop on a Sunday, but surprisingly there were no other customers. There were delicious fried foods to choose from, but I decided on the classic energetic menchi-katsu and the new item, miso pork cutlet. I enjoyed them at the standing bar of a liquor shop in Yanaka Ginza. The menchi-katsu was crispy and juicy as expected. And the miso pork cutlet was exceptionally delicious, with a rich miso flavor that didn't need any sauce. It felt like eating pork miso-marinated tonkatsu. I wondered if turning the famous Chichibu pork miso-marinated dish into a cutlet would taste like this. I thought it would be delicious to put 2-3 pieces of it on rice in a bowl. I enjoyed it with some sake from the liquor shop. The combination with sake was perfect. Delicious menchi-katsu and miso pork cutlet, thank you for the meal.

In the Tsunaka shopping street, there are several delicatessen shops, but personally, this one is the best. There are various kinds of menchi-katsu and it's hard to choose, but this time I ordered the most standard menchi-katsu (¥250). I was really intrigued by the shiitake menchi-katsu... I quickly tried it and the flavor of the meat in the menchi was concentrated and rich, with plenty of filling inside. The outer coating was crispy and warm (which is quite important). It was perfect for eating on the go as it was cold outside!

Visited for food hopping. Ordered the menchi katsu, a classic for food hopping. While Asakusa's menchi katsu is 100 in juiciness, this one has a gentle and light flavor. It's so mild that you might be able to eat two. It has a rich taste without causing indigestion, making it a gentle flavor.

I came to Suzuki Niku in Tanaka Ginza. It seems to be a shop that has been featured in the media. I bought the Genki Menchi Katsu for 250 yen. I quickly bought it and ate it on the spot. It was delicious, hot and freshly fried.

When it comes to Tsutaya Ginza, it is known as a holy place for foodies, and I bought the popular Menchi-katsu from the famous shop "Niku no Suzuki". I warmed it up at home and ate it. The cross-section of the round Menchi-katsu is a classic Menchi-katsu with minced meat and onions. It is a very ordinary Menchi-katsu with a certain amount of seasoning. Since it is thin, it is easy to eat and perfect for foodie walks. When eating at home, it might be better to have a little more volume. Compared to Satou in Kichijoji, it has less meat juice and you can't taste the sweetness of the onions much. It is a Menchi-katsu suitable for light foodie walks.

During my school days, I was impressed by a friend who enjoyed fantasizing about replacing her name with the surname of her crush while talking to female friends. She would get so excited talking about imagining herself in a hospital waiting room, not realizing that her name had changed to her beloved's surname after getting married, and responding to it before realizing it was actually her being called. It made me wonder if she wanted to change her name or if there was another reason behind it. I remember a time when there were two "Tanaka-kun" coworkers in the same department, so we all used nicknames to differentiate them. Major surnames seem to prompt people to consciously differentiate themselves, as they don't often have the opportunity to use their surname. For example, the famous baseball player Ichiro Suzuki's real name is Ichiro Suzuki, but he doesn't often use his surname publicly. Today's snack is the "Suzuki" meat, from a place I often visit, the Yanaka Ginza shopping street. The area is full of unpretentious, flavorful shops, making it one of my favorite places. I ordered the "energetic menchi katsu" and the "old-fashioned meat shop taste" potato croquette. The menchi katsu has coarsely ground meat and plenty of onions, with a crispy outer coating that is light and airy. It's juicy with meat juice and hot from the fryer. The croquette is simple and smooth, leaving a lasting impression. Just like how a modest, unassuming woman can leave a stronger impression than a flashy, glamorous one, simplicity can also make a strong impression, just like Suzuki. As I continued eating and found meat pieces, it reminded me of the subtle charm that unremarkable girls sometimes show. I hoped to encounter simplicity in its pure form.

On this day, I visited the area around Yanaka, Nezu, Sendagi, and Nishi-Nippori. When it comes to the famous items in Yanaka Ginza shopping street, well, there are quite a few to choose from. It's such a popular shopping street that opinions vary naturally. It's like the debate over who is the best bride in Dragon Quest V... Bianca's faction is overwhelmingly dominant, right? Well, story-wise. However, if you choose Flora, you'll be treated like a pariah. But she gets support from Ludman wherever she goes, and Flora's magic is powerful. I mean, isn't Kazing dangerous? A noble lady casting Kazing... Excuse me. Once again, I got carried away all by myself. In the Yanaka Ginza shopping street with various famous items, the most popular is... Menchi-katsu. Especially, "Niku no Satou" and "Niku no Suzuki" are the two major giants. They are located within a minute's walk of each other, so it's a fierce competition. "Niku no Suzuki" was established in 1933. Originally a butcher shop, it was changed to a delicatessen by the current generation. They offer items like menchi and croquettes that you can easily eat on the go. The most popular item is the "Genki Menchi-katsu," and there are many photos of visiting celebrities displayed at the storefront. They seem more prominent than the menchi and croquettes in the showcase. There are also packed roast pork and other items besides fried foods like menchi. However, I decided to get the menchi for immediate consumption. Here's what I ate: - Genki Menchi-katsu: Made with a blend of domestic beef shoulder and Australian beef leg meat. The size is not that big... isn't it? It's not enough to be a side dish for rice with just one piece. It's freshly fried and warm. The batter is crispy and makes a good sound. The meat doesn't have much juiciness. Despite using domestic beef... The presence of onions is quite noticeable. - Nasu Menchi: Menchi-katsu with fried eggplant added. A unique menchi-katsu. It's a bit subtle as a menchi. The eggplant has a strong umami taste, but the crucial meat... is it lacking? Suzuki, the super popular place, doesn't seem to have that much of a difference from other meat shops' deli items... Is there really such a thing as the power of a shopping street? Thank you for the meal!

In the middle of the Tanaka Ginza shopping street, there is a fried food specialty shop run by a butcher shop. I decided to stop by to try their menchi (minced meat cutlet). As expected, it was quite crowded, even on a holiday at around 2 PM. After waiting in line for about 20 minutes, I finally made it to the front of the showcase. The menchi here is made with 100% beef, so the prices are a bit on the higher side. I purchased the following items: "Genki Menchi (¥250)", "Shiitake Menchi (¥250)", and "Potato Croquette (¥110)". I had them wrapped in a simple paper bag and ate them on the spot. The menchi was thin and rectangular in shape, with a mild flavor that made it easy to eat. Personally, I found it a bit too thin and wished for more substance. The shiitake menchi was made with thick shiitake mushrooms stuffed with minced meat, providing a juicy texture. It was delicious, although I almost burned my mouth because it was served piping hot. The croquette was also thin and rectangular, with a sticky texture and a hint of sweetness similar to sweet potatoes. It seemed to have a generous amount of margarine, giving it a flavorful taste. While the menchi was not exactly to my liking, the shiitake menchi was quite enjoyable. It seems like they excel in combination dishes like pork and shiso.

Located a short walk down from Nippori Station in the Yuyake Dandan Shopping Street, this shop appears to be a combination of a butcher shop and a deli. Despite its appearance, the main focus seems to be on meat. Situated on a street popular with foodie tourists, the most popular item here is the Menchi Katsu. The crispy coating and subtly sweet Menchi Katsu spread throughout your mouth, making it delicious.

I bought a potato croquette for 110 yen including tax at Niku no Suzuki in Ginza Yamanaka. It had a lot of potato and minced meat inside with a crispy coating. It was delicious even without sauce. I ate it standing in a corner of a building because I don't like eating while walking. It was a tasty and satisfying snack. The menchi katsu also looked delicious.

I had some business in Sendagi and on my way back, I decided to take a walk through Yanaka. Yanaka is a town I used to frequent in the past. It brought back nostalgic memories. It was December 30th, a Monday. Many shops on Yanaka Ginza are closed on Mondays, so unfortunately, there were only a few open. When you think of Yanaka, Menchi-katsu (minced meat cutlet) is a famous dish. I had two favorite shops that I used to visit often, but unfortunately, they were closed. So, I decided to visit "Suzuki" instead. I was relieved to find it open! This shop's Menchi-katsu is very popular in the area. It's made with 100% beef! Even tourists make sure to visit this famous shop. There were many foreigners there as well. When we visited, there were about 6 people in line. The popular Menchi-katsu sells out quickly, so they are often in short supply. But the advantage is that if you wait a bit, you can enjoy them freshly fried. The Menchi-katsu costs 230 yen. It was piping hot and crispy. It was fried in lard, giving it a crispy and fluffy texture. The meat juice from the juicy Menchi is packed inside. The well-seasoned flavor makes sauce unnecessary. The richness of the beef was delightful. For those who love fried foods, it's irresistible. If you don't worry about calories or overeating, you'll want to keep eating them. Yanaka has many other charming shops that I would love to visit again for more food adventures.

Suzuki is a well-known delicatessen in Yanaka Ginza, famous for their energetic menchi-katsu. I tried their menchi-katsu this time, priced at 230 yen, which is reasonable considering they use high-quality beef. The juiciness and size of the menchi-katsu surpass even Sato, another famous shop in Yanaka Ginza. I personally prefer Suzuki's menchi-katsu as the flavoring is excellent, making it delicious to eat as is. It's perfect for strolling through Yanaka Ginza with a drink in hand. I will continue to be a loyal customer. Thank you for the meal!

Menchi katsu from a popular meat shop in the Ginza Yokocho area is a must-try for foodies. The "Genki Menchi Katsu" costs 230 yen and is always a hit with customers. It is freshly fried and piping hot, with a crispy exterior and a juicy meat filling. The meat is well-seasoned and has a strong umami flavor. It is tightly packed and has a satisfying texture.

In the Tani-naka shopping street, there are two meat shops. I couldn't decide between Niku no Sato and ended up buying their menchi. There are various photos of celebrities in front of the shop as they have appeared on TV. The menchi has a strong seasoning, so it tastes delicious even without sauce. It's so flavorful that it makes you want to drink alcohol...

The meat is finely ground with minimal oil residue, creating a crispy texture. The seasoning of the meat mixture is unique. It seems to be favored by men who prefer not to eat rice without any toppings. Preferences may vary, with Sato in Yanaka Ginza being simple, while Suzuki has a stronger flavor.
