I visited Akashiyaki Hamasan. They serve authentic Akashiyaki, which is rare in Itabashi. I have been to a famous shop in Kobe before, but this one is just as good! I always enjoy it with Sapporo Lager (also known as Akahoshi) or dashi sake (hot sake mixed with Akashiyaki broth). They also have delicious dishes like soba omelette and katsu sandwich. Thank you for the meal today as well!

Our shop is only open on Sundays. Please check on Twitter before heading over. Today, the counter has a mom and child, a couple at a table, and a man drinking alone - almost full! The owner is serious and kind, chatting with customers while working. Today, I had 8 pieces of Akashiyaki and an iced coffee. I just had ramen 30 minutes ago, so I wonder if I can only eat 8 pieces. They melt in your mouth when dipped in the broth. I ate half as is and the rest with broth. I drank the broth at the end. The slight char on them is perfect for me. I enjoyed it today as well! Everyone else was drinking beer. Akashiyaki and beer seem like a good match. Even women can drink comfortably here. Highly recommended!

Our store is only open on Sundays. Today, I planned to hop over from the local Chinese restaurant! Marufuku is about a 15-minute walk away, pretty close. I saw their tweet announcing the opening today on Twitter, so make sure to check before heading out. The first customer was a regular who also came last time. Then, another regular arrived. They brought out an ashtray, so it seems smoking is allowed. Today, I had 8 pieces of Akashiyaki and an iced coffee. The Akashiyaki was fluffy and hot, really delicious! Akashiyaki is also known as "tamagoyaki." Because it's so fluffy, it's easy to fall apart. Ah, I really love the taste. I might end up coming here about once a month, but I'll take it easy (laughs). Akashiyaki is so delicious, it's a shame there isn't a place nearby that serves it. The owner is also friendly and nice. This place might be like a relaxing spot for locals. Well, see you next month (laughs). Thank you for the meal!

Due to the high hurdle of being open only on Sundays, I had difficulty visiting "Akashiyaki Hamaya" for a while. I remember that they used to have longer hours when they first opened, but now they only open on Sundays. The place is run by a mom, and the interior is decorated with anime character figures and sports uniforms, reflecting her hobbies. However, this doesn't affect the comfort of the place. Although they specialize in Akashiyaki, they also offer other dishes like "Omusoba," "Tonkatsu," and "Toast." Today, I didn't come here to drink, so I decided to go for the classic Akashiyaki. I ordered the "Akashiyaki (8 pieces)" for ¥600. Akashiyaki is a local dish from Akashi, Hyogo Prefecture. It's made with less flour and more eggs compared to takoyaki, and it's meant to be eaten dipped in dashi broth. The only ingredient is octopus. When you bite into it, you can understand why it's called "tamagoyaki." It's all about the egg. The dashi broth is really good too. When you drink it, you can taste the dashi. It's like eating a rolled omelet with dashi. That's why it has a Japanese flavor. It's quite different from the Kansai-style takoyaki. There's just one piece of octopus in it, adding a nice texture. It serves as an accent. They serve it on a red plate, following the tradition of Akashi. Since it has less flour, you don't feel overly full after eating it. You can enjoy it until the end. It was delicious. I wonder if the mom is originally from Akashi. I didn't ask. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to eat Akashiyaki, so I searched for a shop. There were not many options, but I found a shop nearby that I often refer to reviews. It seems they are only open on Sundays, so I can't go right away. The shop owner tweets when they open on Twitter. I headed to the shop from Shimura Sakamichi Station. There was one customer already, a local lady. She was sitting at the counter, chatting with the female shop owner. There are two table seats - one for two people and one for four people, which seems just right as the shop owner is managing everything alone. I ordered the Akashiyaki that I wanted to eat! 8 pieces for 600 yen and a cup of oolong tea. The Akashiyaki was a bit bigger than what I've had before. It was fluffy and delicious! The broth was also tasty. Still having room in my stomach, I was contemplating getting a refill when I noticed a menu item called "Soba Om." I was curious about how it is different from Omusoba. I asked the shop owner, and she explained that it is a smaller-sized Omusoba, with seasoned noodles wrapped in egg, meant as a snack. It was a half-sized portion of Omusoba with only noodles inside. It was simple and tasty too! The interior of the shop is decorated with anime character goods, and the TV serves as background music. They were watching golf on TV that day. The shop seems to be a place of relaxation, as the lady customer was chatting with the shop owner for a long time. I also had a little chat with her, and she was a friendly and kind shop owner. She even looked up and told me about bus routes that would make it easier for me to go home than taking the train. The food was delicious, so I will definitely come back again! Thank you for the meal~ ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧

One day, I stopped by a restaurant in Shimura Sakashita for a farewell party. I had some time, so I decided to grab a quick bite to eat. I ordered Akashiyaki and a small bottle of sake. While snacking on the complimentary rice crackers, I waited for my order. The Akashiyaki arrived on a red plate, larger than I had imagined, emitting a gentle aroma of egg and dashi broth. The Akashiyaki smelled so good. I delicately picked up a soft and fluffy piece, took a bite, and savored the hot and melty dashi broth inside. The chewy octopus added a nice texture. It was hot and delicious. The flavorful broth made it enjoyable even without dipping it in the light dipping sauce provided. After finishing the Akashiyaki, I felt even hungrier, so I ordered the dashi soba omelette as well. It was like a fried noodle wrapped in a dashi-flavored egg. I devoured it too. Initially, I thought the restaurant was just a casual place for novelty, but when I chatted with the staff, I learned that they had started at a fish market in Akashi, expanded to Kobe and department stores nationwide, and this restaurant in Shimura Sakashita was a bold choice they made through online research. They are definitely experts in their craft. I wondered why they chose to open a restaurant in Shimura Ginza, but it seems like a unique and valuable place to enjoy top-quality Akashiyaki in Tokyo. I hope they continue to thrive in this location. I will definitely visit again.

...Well, this is a story from a little while back when a precious sunny break appeared on my day off. According to the official Twitter account of "Sayano Yudokoro," it seems relatively empty even on holidays, so I aimed for the time just after opening to take a bath in the open-air hot spring with natural spring water. After that, I headed to "Akashiyaki Hama" in Shimura Sakamichi. I ordered the signature dish, which can be enjoyed on its own or by dipping the Akashiyaki into it. It is lightly seasoned, served with a light broth and pickled ginger. While savoring this delicacy, I couldn't help but wonder if the draft beer, Kirin Ichiban Shibori, was served in a glass from a bottle. Overall, various beers are served in small bottles poured into a glass, and I enjoyed sipping on Kirin Ichiban Shibori! 🍺

This time it's "Akashiyaki Haman" restaurant. You can find this dish in Tokyo, but I never expected to find it near my home! Akashiyaki (500 yen) is a Hyogo specialty dish with a relatively large piece of octopus wrapped in fluffy egg batter. It has a slightly crispy exterior, but the texture inside is like marshmallow. The taste is unmistakably Kansai-style with a gentle touch of dashi broth. This light and gentle flavor is hard to come by in the eastern part of Japan. It's more like a snack rather than a meal, but it's delicious! Sometimes when I eat takoyaki, it can be heavy and make dinner difficult, but with this, I can easily finish it all. If this Akashiyaki had squid in it, it would definitely cause some controversy... Thank you for the meal!
