The bar that men admire seems to be this place. The ambiance is just too cool. This popular bar in Shinjuku San-chome is called Le Parrain, which is the French title of the movie "The Godfather". Real candle flames flicker inside, casting a dim light that could turn pitch black when extinguished. The bar counter and sofas are made of dark-toned wood, creating a weighty atmosphere. Photos related to The Godfather are displayed, creating an irresistible world for movie fans.

As I arrived around 6 pm on a weekday, there were only one other customer besides myself. I was able to relax and chat with the bartenders. On a previous visit, I couldn't get in because it was full, but almost everyone was smoking cigars. This bar is also popular as a cigar bar, offering a variety of cigars. I don't smoke, so coming at this early hour might be better as I wouldn't be bothered by the smell. For my first drink, I asked for a recommended whisky-based long cocktail, and they made me a Scotch-based John Collins. They shook Scotch with lemon juice and sugar syrup, poured it into a glass, and topped it with soda. It doesn't have a strong carbonation, but the right amount of sweetness and gentle fizziness are delicious. For my second drink, I had the classic Martini. It tastes even better in this ambiance. The majority of customers are solo male customers, with occasional male pairs coming in, as I was informed. Truly unique. The Godfather is a movie depicting Italian immigrants and their descendants in American society. I should ask why the bar has a French name next time I visit. It's been over 15 years since I watched The Godfather 1 and 2, and I've forgotten most of it, so I might rewatch it before coming back. And next time, I'll try The Godfather.
