First visit to this Italian restaurant in Hiroo, opened in 2014. The reviews were great, and I've been curious about it for a while, but it remained on my wishlist for a long time. Finally, I decided to go and check it out!
- Access: A 5-minute walk from Hiroo Station on the Hibiya Line. Nearby you can find "Bottega" and "Ode".
- Interior: The restaurant is unexpectedly spacious towards the back. The tables are well spaced out, and the ambiance is quite nice. Despite being a 9-year-old establishment, there is no sense of age. The sommelier was handsome and provided unique and pleasant service.
Overall Impression: Having been accustomed to strong flavors from restaurants like Pepe Rosso, Bottega, and the now-closed Passo a Passo, the dishes here felt a bit lacking in impact for my taste. However, every dish showcased skillful cooking and was undeniably delicious. The standout dish for me was the "Ribollita," a traditional Tuscan soup. It was hearty with a thick consistency, and the flavors of beans, vegetables, and cheese came through richly. It reminded me of the Zuppe di Zucca e Astice at Zupperia Osteria Pizzeria in Shibuya.
The 12,000 yen course included:
1. Amuse-bouche
2. Fried conger eel with Panzanella and myoga
3. Sautéed scallops with squid Ragu sauce, sea urchin, and squid ink foam
4. Ribollita soup
5. Ayu fish Ragu sauce with summer truffles and taglierini pasta
6. Sautéed cutlassfish with zucchini and basil oil
7. Roasted Black Wagyu beef with shishito peppers, anchovies, and perilla
8. Tiramisu
9. Peach compote, yogurt panna cotta, blood orange foam
10. Coffee and tea accompanied by dessert
As a surprise at the end, a variety of luxurious cookies were offered in abundance, all complimentary with the course. This is a great choice for those looking to impress their female companion.
