I went there last time and the soba was so delicious that I came for the second time! This time, I also ordered the eggplant dish! It was too delicious. All the side dishes are tasty. The square bean tempura and corn tempura were sold out this time, so I ordered the chestnut tempura. The sweet sauce matched well and added just the right deliciousness to the soba. The soba is really delicious!! Even if you eat a bit too much of the side dishes, you can easily finish them off. The interior of the restaurant is also very nice, and you can enjoy your meal leisurely.

Definitely delicious. However, considering it as a soba restaurant, it's probably reasonable as a high-end kaiseki meal. Soba kaiseki is not common, so it's a bit challenging. The tempura uses high-quality ingredients and is beautifully fried. But if you're in the mood for delicious soba, the high price makes it a bit difficult to use frequently.

I am surprised by the high ratings and the award history of this restaurant. I visited on a scorching hot day, but no water or tea was served even after being seated. Water was available for 110 yen per glass, and the only warm drink option was buckwheat tea for 450 yen. They casually mentioned that buckwheat tea would be served at the end of the meal, but it would have been better if they offered it at the beginning. Despite the restaurant not being very crowded, the paid water and tea took a long time to arrive. There are too few options for individual buckwheat dishes on the menu, and they don't even offer a menu for just buckwheat noodles. Apparently, they only provide it to those who order set meals. Is this really a soba restaurant? The condiments for the tempura soba are also charged separately at 110 yen per plate, but the amount is minimal, just a tiny bit of cheap green onion and wasabi. The condiments for the duck soba, which were elaborately explained, were also minimal. The tempura, also elaborately described, had ingredients that were less impressive than what you could make at home for the same price. Despite the mismatch between the quality and price of the dishes, the overly formal and polite service made me smirk in the end. It's embarrassing that a restaurant like this is considered a top 100 restaurant and that they seem to have a misunderstanding about their status. If they truly believe they are a top restaurant, they should try food from other famous soba restaurants to learn. Additionally, while the entrance looks nice, the restaurant is located in a vulgar back alley, so it's not suitable for bringing important guests or for business entertainment.

I used it for a dinner with friends. We had the evening course. First, the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. The tables are well spaced so you don't feel crowded. The timing of the dishes coming out is good. There were plenty of dishes to enjoy, good for both the eyes and stomach. The best dish for me was the soba soup with mushrooms. The duck was also tender and delicious. I think it would be amazing if they offered sake.

I visited the restaurant around noon on a weekday and made a reservation for the lunch course. The restaurant was located in a hard-to-find place and seemed small like an old private house, but it was spacious. The dimly lit interior with a Japanese atmosphere was very calming. The bisque, candied plum, and duck terrine were delicious. The dessert had a tangy sauce that was refreshing and tasty. Next time, I would like to try tempura and extra soba a la carte.

I went to Tachikawa Station to watch a movie! I wanted to eat something delicious nearby, so I ended up at this restaurant. When I asked the staff before opening, they said reservations were possible even on the same day. The interior was retro and stylish, and the soba was delicious! I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

Located in a residential area about a 3-minute walk from JR Chuo Line Tachikawa Station North Exit and Tama Monorail Tachikawa Kita Station, is the cozy restaurant "Soba Kaiseki Mu-an." The warm wooden building houses around 36 tables and sunken kotatsu seats. Jazz music plays from a vacuum tube amp inside. Today, I tried the course meal "Soba Yuusen" (¥7,800 tax included). The meal included: Soba Tofu, White Miso with Figs, Simmered Pacific Saury, Duck Liver, Seaweed, Peanut with String Beans, and Sweet Pickled Plum; Grilled Miso with Soba, Duck, Leek, and Green Yuzu Soup; Bonito, Onion, and Seasonal Citrus Salad; Roasted Wild Duck; Spring Vegetable Tempura; Pickles; Spicy Daikon Radish Grated Soba; Mochi Soba with Soy Sauce Ice Cream. The Soba Tofu was served with vichyssoise, creating a harmonious blend of both soba and potato fragrances. The elegant sweetness of the figs was well utilized in the White Miso dish. The slimy Seaweed had a subtle aroma of the sea. The homemade grilled miso made with white miso and walnuts had a rich flavor, perfect with a sip of sake. The sticky texture of the Soba Soup was delightful, especially with the refreshing green yuzu. The salad made with vegetables from Mu-an Farm in Sayama Hills and bonito was enhanced by the excellent dressing. The Roasted Wild Duck was rich in flavor, complemented by the asparagus, myoga, and turnip. The Spring Vegetable Tempura was best enjoyed with a sprinkle of salt for its crispy texture and unique bitterness. The soba here is made from soba flour from the foothills of Mt. Yatsugatake and Lake Sagami. Mixing in spicy daikon and tempura scraps elevated the flavor. Drinking the thick soba broth with a hint of dashi was satisfying. The dessert, a flavorful blend of Mochi Soba and mugwort, was a delightful finish. I tried all types of sake listed on the menu, with Tamagawa being my favorite for its changing taste as the ice melted. I also ordered additional dishes like rolled omelette and pickled radish with soy sauce, enjoying not only the food but also the ambiance and tableware. I will definitely be back soon.

Well, I haven't had the chance to visit the nearby soba restaurant despite its high ratings on Tabelog. The reason being that I don't quite understand the taste of soba. But today, feeling in the mood, I made a reservation by phone just before lunchtime on a weekday. The atmosphere inside was quite nice, and I was given a good menu. They mentioned that the soba would come later. First, some appetizers! I don't drink alcohol, so I ordered a side dish. The soba tofu salad was refreshing and delicious. The appetizer trio followed, with dashimaki tamago being tasty. The side dishes were delicious. The tempura was... well, average. Maybe a bit too much sesame oil. And now, the crucial soba... still can't quite grasp the taste. But more importantly, the grated daikon soba was too spicy, overwhelming the soba itself. The portion of soba was lacking. The final dessert was like mochi soba? The side dishes were tasty, but overall, it lacked volume, the soba was too spicy, and it was expensive. Having a hearty meal for two at a soba restaurant during lunchtime cost us 20,000 yen. It was more expensive than expected. Also, they charge for mineral water.

This time, I made a reservation through a friend who loves soba noodles and visited this renowned restaurant. The restaurant only offers a set course menu in the evening. It is located a bit away from the station, in a quiet residential area with a Japanese-style exterior. The course includes appetizers, fish dishes, meat dishes, and dessert. The assorted appetizers were beautifully presented, with each dish carefully crafted. The braised liver, in particular, had a rich and delicious flavor. The sashimi had a fragrant yuzu seasoning. The duck meat in the meat dish was sweet and flavorful with each bite. Both dishes had a French-like appearance but incorporated a mix of Japanese and Western flavors. The soba noodles served at the end divided opinions in terms of preference, but they had a good texture. The final dessert of yokan (sweet bean jelly) and gelato was not too heavy or too sweet, just right. Overall, the fusion of Western and Japanese elements was well-balanced, allowing us to enjoy the course without getting tired of it. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Located about a 5-minute walk from Tachikawa Station in a somewhat quiet area with few other dining options, we visited this restaurant. We made a reservation for 6:30 PM on a Saturday. By that time, the restaurant was almost full with only a few tables left besides ours, making it about 80% full. The restaurant seemed quite spacious, with a relatively large number of seats. We ordered the evening course for 7,800 yen this time. The course included appetizers, small dishes, grilled miso, duck soup, soba noodles, fish carpaccio, roasted duck, tempura, and grated soba noodles for the finale, with a generous amount of dishes. The overall taste quality exceeded the price, making it a place we would want to visit again. The small dishes were surprisingly intricate, with many Kyoto-style ingredients not commonly seen in a soba restaurant. The fish had a slightly Western salad-like flavor, focusing on the quality of the ingredients rather than sticking strictly to traditional Japanese flavors. The duck we had that day had no gamey taste at all, packed with rich umami and among the best duck dishes we've ever had. The tempura was light and crispy with a wonderful fragrance of sakura shrimp. The soba noodles were slightly thicker with a strong aroma and a satisfying chewiness. We had grated soba noodles that day, and the combination with grated radish enhanced the aroma of the soba, making it very delicious. While the portions were not overly large, we left feeling satisfied not just with the soba noodles but with all the other dishes as well. Overall, it was a high-value restaurant where we could enjoy a variety of dishes.

This is my second time! I was planning to try the Soba Yuzen this time, but I ran out of time and had to give up... The rolled omelette I ordered before was reliably delicious, using 3 to 4 eggs! The portion size is amazing. I had the soba served in a bamboo steamer. It's not listed on the menu, but they always explain it's available, though I think they should just write it down. The soba is very delicious. ◎

This restaurant is very attentive in everything they do. Reservations are a must, even on weekdays and during lunchtime, whether you order a course or individual items. For course meals, the last order is at 13:00, and for individual items, it's at 13:30. Besides soba noodles, their other dishes are also delicious. If you have the time, it's a place where you'll want to order a course meal.

It was a calm atmosphere that you wouldn't expect in Tachikawa, making it easy to enter even for solo diners. The interior was quiet and comfortable. I went there suddenly this time, so I couldn't quite taste the food due to pollen allergies. I would like to try the soba course next time.

I had some business in Tachikawa and visited Mu-an because I wanted to eat soba. I ordered the seasonal fish carpaccio, roasted duck, duck soba, and sake lees blancmange. The seasonal fish was sea bream, and it went well with citrus flavors, very delicious. The roasted duck was tender and had a great duck flavor that intensified as I chewed. It comes with balsamic sauce, mustard, and grated radish, which enhance the taste. The side salad with turnips and onions was also delicious. The duck soba was very tasty, with plenty of duck meat and tasty green onions. The sake lees blancmange had Japanese citrus jelly on top, with a sauce made of mirin and condensed milk. I couldn't imagine how the mirin and condensed milk sauce would taste, but it paired well with the sake lees. The sweet and sourness of the Japanese citrus, the sweetness of the sauce, and the sweetness of the sake lees blended well and were delicious. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal!
