My wife shouted "Oh no!" and I found out that we still had some unused go to eat tickets. Since the expiration date was approaching, we decided to have a luxurious lunch and made a reservation at ikariya523. The early time slots were fully booked, so we reserved for 13:30. It has been a few years since we last visited, and I remember there used to be around 3 lunch course options, but now there is only one set menu with soup, choice of appetizer, choice of main dish, and a drink. I ordered the salmon and seasonal vegetable salad, and my wife ordered the tea-flavored pork terrine and the beef chuck steak. Although it felt a bit impolite, we decided to share different dishes to try more variety. All the dishes at Ikariya are delicious without any doubt, and the staff's hospitality is great. Since we still have some tickets left, we plan to visit Ikariya's Italian restaurant next week.

I had been interested in this restaurant for a while. I visited for the first time. It's usually difficult to make a reservation on weekends, but since I went at a later time, I was able to go on the same day after contacting them. The food was delicious. The bread served as an appetizer was also very tasty and paired well with the wine.

I go to Kyoto every month, so this time I visited this restaurant to try the ikariyam series. The kitchen is in the middle of the restaurant and the atmosphere is great. This time, I had the lunch course without cocotte or dessert, keeping it simple. The portion was sufficient and I left feeling full. The timing of the dishes being served was good, and it really felt like the work of ikariya. The house wine was also delicious.

Lunch course for 2500 yen. The kitchen is in the middle of the restaurant and has a nice atmosphere, very stylish! The lunch was fully booked, so the place was lively. Everything was delicious, but the salad that came out first was so fun and tasty because each leaf had a different flavor!

It has been a while since 17 people gathered for a social gathering, making it difficult to find a restaurant. We decided to go to Ikariya523, where we could rent out the entire second floor. We opted for the A course at 3,600 yen per person, with an additional 2,000 yen for all-you-can-drink sparkling wine for the toast. The Heartland beer we ordered was served very cold, perfect for beer enthusiasts. I started with a red wine and enjoyed dishes such as new onion soup, Mr. Yoshida's bread and bottled butter pate, assorted appetizers with ham, and a salad with homemade ham. We also shared a fluffy cocotte dish among four people and ended with a thick roasted chestnut pork. The stylish atmosphere, delicious food, and plenty of drinks made for a leisurely time spent with friends.

You can enjoy a French course meal with good cost performance. Considering the price, the quality was good. There was a variety of drink options, although I didn't find a wine that I particularly liked. The beef sagari steak was a bit tough, but all the dishes had delicious seasoning.

The homemade ham salad was delicious, with tasty mushrooms. However, the Jamon Serrano was a bit disappointing, possibly due to being stored in the fridge and having a slightly off smell. The Katsuo carpaccio with tomato and cucumber sauce was tasty, but the sauce overpowered the Katsuo flavor. The steak lacked a bit in seasoning, considering the delicious dressings and sauces. The pistachio cheesecake was just the right balance of flavors for dessert. The Vinho Verde wine was a great deal at 3,500 yen. The service was excellent, with a baby chair available.

I ordered the 2,500 yen lunch course. It came with soup, bread and butter, a choice of salad, a choice of main dish, and a drink. The portion size was good for the price, providing a satisfying amount of food. However, the taste was not exceptional. The salad terrine had a bland flavor and the pork shoulder main dish was fatty and heavy. The butter on the bread was delicious though. If you're not too concerned about taste and are looking for a cheap meal with generous portions, this place might be worth a try.

I have been wanting to visit the Ikariya Group for a long time, but when I tried to make a reservation a week before, the affiliated riverside restaurant was fully booked. It's July after all. So, I visited this place instead! The assorted plate is a must. The Campanile was not to my taste, but it was simple and well-balanced. The souffle quiche was not only exciting, but also delicious! It was fluffy and I finished it quicker than I thought. The staff were friendly and easy to talk to, making me feel comfortable and relaxed.

We met up with my friends from college for the first time in 3 years and had a meal in Kyoto. The lunch here costs 2300 yen (including tax) and includes a small potage, a choice of 1 out of 3 appetizers (some with additional charges), a choice of 1 out of 3 main dishes (some with additional charges), bread, and a post-meal drink. We had the salmon marinated appetizer and the lamb stew (both without additional charges) which were both satisfying in portion. There was a seasonal cocktail available, and lunch was offered at a special price of 500 yen, so we tried the lychee and jasmine sparkling wine which was delicious! They also offer a wine pairing course with 2 glasses for 1500 yen and 3 glasses for 2100 yen, so it's a good option if you want to pair your wine with each dish. The interior has a casual yet slightly classical and bright bistro atmosphere, perfect for relaxing and enjoying a lovely time. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the sister restaurant of the reasonably priced and delicious French bistro Ikariya Shokudo, called "Ikariya 523". The number 523 in the name represents the address of the restaurant. I was guided to a seat with the best lighting for taking clear photos, as it was a friend's part-time job place. MENU: - Seared Kyoto mackerel carpaccio - Assorted charcuterie (for 2 people) - Fluffy Cocotte Souffle Quiche - Charcoal-grilled beef chuck flap with red wine sauce - Choux a la creme The signature Cocotte Souffle Quiche had a crispy top crust and a fluffy souffle inside, which was very delicious. I have tried similar souffle dishes at Ikariya Shokudo and CINQUE ikariya before, but I liked the one at 523 the most. It's fun to enjoy the differences between each store. After thoroughly enjoying dessert, I even got a complimentary cafe au lait. It was a very stylish interior, perfect for a date. In spring and autumn, it becomes an open restaurant where you can enjoy cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. I would like to visit Ikariya 365 and ikariya petit before leaving the area.

I usually only eat things that are like an old man, but once in a while I try to be more feminine. The deer meat Bolognese is absolutely delicious. The pork herb grill with honey mustard and sweet potato sauce had a very elegant taste. I had planned to order the cream puff and it was filled with an extravagant amount of cream.

I made a reservation and it was the right decision as the restaurant was almost full. I came from Arashiyama, but the bus was delayed due to traffic, so I called ahead to let them know I would be late for my reservation. I always make sure to contact the restaurant if I am even 5 minutes late for my reservation. They were very understanding and told me to come safely. It's amazing that they are almost full even during the pandemic! I started with a beer because I was hungry. Since there were two of us, we ordered about 4 dishes. I was drawn to the recommended items on the menu. We ordered the recommended longfin tuna and new onion salad, sardine and rapeseed spaghetti, and the Yamato pork roti platter. The salad arrived first and the tuna was delicious. I'm not a big fan of tuna usually, but this was really good. The platter had a good amount of food, and it came with special butter for the bread. The Yamato pork roti with sherry vinegar sauce was very tasty. I wanted to try dessert, but I was too full. This restaurant is part of the Ikariya series, and it has a classic bistro feel with consistent flavors and service. It's perfect for casual dining. It has a different atmosphere from Ikariya Shokudo, and I really liked it. Thank you for the meal!

I found a shop on a side street by chance and fell in love at first sight. The next day, I made a reservation for lunch. The restaurant has a large dining area with an open kitchen vibe. The atmosphere is soft and cozy, perfect for a casual yet nice meal. I tried the lunch course, starting with a creamy carrot soup made with local carrots. The bread and homemade butter were delicious, and the salmon and rapeseed salad was satisfying. The main course was sautéed lamb with turmeric rice, which was flavorful. I also ordered dessert - a cream puff for me and a crème brûlée for my companion. Both were delicious, especially the smooth and rich cream. Overall, it was a satisfying experience with a relaxed atmosphere.

In 2020, I visited a cozy bistro for a Christmas-like experience over the weekend since I couldn't do much during the actual holiday due to the pandemic. The restaurant had a casual atmosphere but the dishes were well-prepared and delicious. I tried a variety of game dishes and also got my share of vegetables. The neighboring table was having a course meal which looked diverse and appetizing. I would like to try the course meal next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I want to have a delicious lunch. I decided to visit this highly recommended restaurant. I heard that the meat is the best here, so I changed my order to a meat dish. The potage soup was carrot, very rich and tasty. The bread was from Yoshida Bakery, which I've been curious about for a while. The appetizer platter was beautifully presented. Then came the main dish! I was looking forward to the 200g portion mentioned on the menu, but when it arrived, it seemed smaller. Maybe because I asked for it to be sliced? The meat was okay, not as exceptional as I had hoped. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly. I'm curious about their desserts like the souffle and cocotte, but maybe they are better for dinner than lunch. Overall, it was a nice experience.

Sunday 11:30 am, I went to Ikariya 523 with my daughter. I made a reservation through Ikyu the night before, and we were seated at a window-side table for four as soon as the restaurant opened. A handwritten welcome card was prepared for the reserved guests, which is typical of the Ikariya group. The lunch menu consisted of only one option, a prefix petit course where you could choose a main dish and a drink. The lunch cost 2,100 yen (tax included). 11:40 - Pumpkin Potage with Butter Topped with foam and pistachios, this hot soup is creamy and delicious, a rare treat for this time of year. 11:47 - Appetizer Leaf salad with vegetables from a contracted farm, pumpkin slices, marinated purple cabbage, olive potato salad, Shishito pepper escabeche, smelt escabeche, carrot rapé, and Provence-style eggplant. The vegetable-heavy dishes were enjoyable with a Kyoto-style French twist. 12:08 - Main Dish My daughter had something like a hamburger, while I had pasta. We shared a bit of each other's dishes and enjoyed them. The hamburger was delicious, and the pasta was satisfying with its meaty texture. I usually avoid pasta due to my low-carb diet, but today I made an exception after having plenty of veggies from the appetizers. The meal left us feeling full, so we decided to skip dessert. Despite the hot weather, we had a relaxing lunch at the sunlit window table. I would love to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

This is a past post. Please understand. When I think back now... the year-end party at my workplace at that time was the last big drinking party before COVID. It was a French course meal with delicious potage, appetizers, and even apple tart for dessert. Especially... the bread was delicious♡ It was from "Yoshida Pan Kobo"! It's a popular bakery that is hard to come by, known only to a few, and highly trusted by restaurants. I heard that, but I never expected to eat it here. Lucky me♡ I spread homemade rock salt butter on it and ended up eating a lot of bread. The organizer who chose this place has a good sense of food, and I'm happy about that! The food was delicious, not too fancy, casual, and enjoyable to eat and drink with a large group! I didn't know much about casual French restaurants, so I want to come for lunch next time! A restaurant where the bread is delicious, how nice♪ Thank you for the meal~!

Took my parents to a bistro in Sanjo! Everything was delicious and the cost performance was excellent! No matter what you eat, there is no disappointment! The portions were generous and we were quite satisfied! The interior of the restaurant was not very spacious, and even though we had a reservation, we were seated right next to the door. It was a bit disappointing that we couldn't eat slowly because it was bustling every time other customers came in! The food was delicious and the cost performance was good, so I would like to visit again.

I visited for a special lunch on a commemorative day. I contacted them the day before to make a reservation, but they said they needed preparation for the 3,500 yen lunch, so I went for the 1,800 yen lunch instead. At first, I was quite concerned about various things because it was French cuisine, but the staff were dressed casually and the service was very polite and pleasant. The lunch included: - Chestnut potage soup - Bread with rock salt butter - Choice of appetizer: Tea pig terrine with country bread, Duck ham and autumn vegetable balsamic marinated salad, or Marinated salmon Niçoise style salad - Choice of main course: Beef shoulder steak with fries, Beef shank beer stew, or Autumn salmon meunière. All the dishes were delicious and the portion sizes were quite filling for women. I also saw the 3,500 yen menu, and I think it would be difficult to finish it all. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, the staff provided attentive service, and the food was of a high standard. I initially wondered if this restaurant was suitable for me, but it turned out to be a good fit. By the way, they will introduce a new lunch menu in October, expanding the options for the 1,800 yen course. I think everyone will be very satisfied with the current 1,800 yen course, so they are adding more choices to attract more customers. Thank you for the meal!

A bistro located in Kyoto Sanjo with all series of stores having a rating of 3.6 or above on Tabelog. A must-try signature dish is the souffle quiche with a crispy outer layer and fluffy texture inside. It offers good value for money and high satisfaction.
