I visited the restaurant because I wanted to have a light lunch. You order on the first floor and the second floor is the eating area. There were about 10 different types of onigiri to choose from! I had a hard time deciding, but I was happy to see chestnut rice for autumn. When you choose your onigiri, you can also choose from 3 types of seaweed - 2 types of roasted seaweed and 1 type of flavored seaweed. The onigiri are quite small, so I think ordering 3 would have been better. With 2, I was about half full. It seems you can also order side dishes that go well with miso soup and onigiri, so you can adjust according to your appetite! The seaweed is a DIY style, so it was nice and crispy, but it was a bit difficult to eat because the chestnut and ikura on top were spilling out. If I have the chance to come to Shijo again, I would like to try different flavors with takeout.

The Oomoriya seaweed store has a rice ball shop where you can choose three types of seaweed to wrap your rice ball with. I tried the "Kaze" seaweed, known for its good aroma and texture, and the "Shio" seaweed, flavored with kombu and soy sauce. The "Shio" seaweed was already seasoned, so I should have chosen the "Tsuki" seaweed for a better comparison. The rice ball itself was not as delicious as those from top restaurants (it was a bit firm), but it was nice that they used freshly opened seaweed. The rice ball was about half the size of a regular one, making it easy to compare different seaweed types. It's a convenient option for a quick break, with a manageable portion size and price range. If I'm out with my child and they say they're hungry, I might consider stopping by. Note: Rating 3.50

I have been looking forward to trying the onigiri shop that uses Nori from Omoriya, which I have seen in TV commercials since I was a child. There were many delicious-looking onigiri to choose from, and I had a hard time deciding which one to get. I'm sure any choice would have been delicious. Even though onigiri may look small, I think most people would want to try various types, and when you actually eat them, you will feel that this size is just right. The onigiri I had didn't have the Nori sticking out, so the size was perfect. You can choose from three types of Nori, and the packaging is cute and makes you happy. I wish they would sell this Nori for takeout. You can also order miso soup, karaage, etc., but since the onigiri had plenty of ingredients on top, I was completely satisfied with just that.

No waiting. - Couple Point - If you order 2 items, you can share. - Taste - The parent company is a seaweed shop, so the seaweed is delicious. Good evening. This is beauty acupuncturist Kozue. The other day, when I went to Kyoto, I found a rice ball specialty shop. This time, I visited Norimusubi Kyoto Teramachi store. It seems to be a rice ball shop operated by Omoriya, a seaweed shop, and they seem to be particular about seaweed. The menu is as follows: Salt rice ball, Tuna mayonnaise, Kombu okaka, Kishu Nanko Ume, Hakata mentaiko, Red salmon, Ikura, Grilled mackerel, Chicken teriyaki, Cheese cutlet curry set with plenty of ingredients, Miso soup, and side dish set A (Kyoto-style rolled omelette and two side dishes), side dish set B (Kyoto-style rolled omelette, fried chicken, croquette, and two side dishes). This time, I ordered the Kombu and side dish set A, and the Salt rice ball and Bofu pickles ochazuke set. By the way, when you order a rice ball, you can choose from three types of seaweed. Tsuki (Yumigahama-produced roasted seaweed), Setouchi (Setouchi-produced roasted seaweed), Shio (Yumigahama-produced seasoned seaweed). The rice balls are quite small. The Kombu one is full of ingredients. There is less rice and more Kombu, so it tastes delicious, but even when eaten with seaweed, the seaweed flavor is overpowered by the Kombu seasoning, which feels a bit of a waste. The rolled omelette is slightly sweet and well cooked. The side dishes also serve as rice accompaniments, so I wish there was more rice. The Salt rice ball is simply salty, so I think it goes well with seaweed. We also enjoyed it as ochazuke by putting it in a bowl with arare and condiments, pouring dashi over it. The taste is very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On Tuesday at 4:00 PM, head to "Norimusubi" in Kawaramachi, Kyoto. This is a rice ball specialty store operated by the famous nori seaweed company, Omoriya. The first store opened in Kyoto's Teramachi shopping street. On the first floor, all types of rice balls are lined up at the counter, and you can also enjoy them on the second floor seating area. The "Nori Comparison Set" is a recommended set that includes 3 rice balls, 3 types of seaweed, and miso soup. The "Nori Comparison Set" offers the "Pine Set," "Bamboo Set," and "Plum Set," and I purchased the "Plum Set" with "Salt Rice Ball," "Kishu Nanko Ume Plum," and "Kombu." The "Salt Rice Ball" uses the "Tsuki" seaweed, which is baked nori from Ariake Sea. It is delicious, with crispy seaweed that complements the subtly salty rice ball, enhancing the flavors of rice and seaweed. The "Kishu Nanko Ume Plum" uses the "Shio" seaweed, which is seasoned nori from the Ariake Sea. It is delicious, with a large Kishu Nanko plum leaf, and a crunchy pickled plum-like texture. The seasoned seaweed is just right. Lastly, the "Kombu" uses the "Kaze" seaweed, which is baked nori from the Seto Inland Sea. It is delicious, with plenty of kelp for a luxurious taste. The strong kelp flavor is balanced perfectly by the baked seaweed. As expected from a rice ball shop operated by Omoriya, which specializes in seaweed. There are not many rice ball shops where seaweed is the main focus. The rice balls themselves are delicious, so I hope that foreign tourists in Kyoto will try them as part of Japan's wonderful food culture. Thank you for the meal.

The Noriya by Omoriya is serving onigiri, where you can choose from 3 types of nori and different fillings. It's affordable and delicious! You can also take it to go. It's located in Teramachi and stands out. It's new and amazing!

Visited around 1 pm during Golden Week. The menu includes okaka (dried bonito flakes) for ¥198, kombu (kelp) for ¥198, and umeboshi (pickled plum) for ¥275. I chose to dine in, but takeout is also available. The restaurant was full, but I only had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated. They offer 3 types of nori (seaweed) for the onigiri: 2 types of roasted nori and 1 type of seasoned nori. Since I ordered 3 onigiri, I chose a different type of nori for each one. The onigiri were a bit on the smaller side in terms of size.

I went to see the cherry blossoms at Ninnaji Temple in Kyoto. Since we had plans for the evening, my daughter suggested having onigiri for lunch. We went to Omoriya, a specialty onigiri shop located in the Teramachi Kyogoku shopping street. They have a wide variety of onigiri to choose from, but I recommend the set of three onigiri where you can taste different types of seaweed. We ordered two sets of the "pine" set, with options like tuna mayo, Hakata mentaiko, grilled mackerel, cheese cutlet curry, and red salmon with salmon roe. The seaweed was delicious, especially the "shio" type. The seaweed was crispy and tasty.

After 3:00 pm, two of us went to the shop to satisfy our hunger. There is an eat-in space on the second floor, with two 4-person tatami seats and a counter with 4 seats. We ordered together: - Nori comparison bamboo set (includes the following) - Chicken teriyaki - Salmon ikura - Tuna mayo corn - Miso soup - Three-year hojicha We were able to enjoy three different types of nori from Oomoriya. The nori was individually wrapped and crunchy, making it delicious. The onigiri was very small, so it could get expensive if you wanted to fill up your stomach. However, the fillings were quite tasty. The miso soup had a good amount of seaweed and was average in taste. The three-year hojicha was served with a tea bag and a teacup, and we could brew it using the water server on the second floor. There was a generous amount of tea leaves, and we could enjoy a second steeping as well. In the city, there are usually only wheat-based options like bread, udon, and hamburgers for a quick snack, so it was nice to have more gluten-free choices available. I would like to visit again to satisfy my hunger.

A 95-year-old seaweed company's specialized rice ball shop is located near Kawaramachi, close to Nishiki Market. It's easy to get there even when it's raining because it's inside a shopping street. They offer 12 different rice ball fillings, which can be quite overwhelming to choose from! Unlike the trendy large rice balls, their rice balls are smaller, so you can easily eat about three of them. You can choose from three types of seaweed: Tsuki, Kaze, and Shio. They recommend different fillings for each type. The options include Tuna Mayo, Kombu, Salmon Roe, Teriyaki Chicken, and Beef Rice. They also serve miso soup. The rice is locally sourced from Kyoto. There is a dining area on the second floor where you can buy rice balls on the first floor and then head upstairs. They have a counter and two small tables with tatami mats. All the rice balls were delicious, especially the Tuna Mayo and Teriyaki Chicken ones. They also offer side dishes and seaweed bento sets.

I visited around 3:00 PM. The eat-in space is not very spacious, so depending on the time, it may be for takeout. Luckily, I visited on a Sunday around 3:00 PM, so I was able to eat inside. The rice balls are all on the smaller side, costing around 300 yen each. The cost performance is not great. However, the rice balls with crispy seaweed are still delicious!

When you think of nori, you probably think of "Oomoriya"! This long-established nori maker, Oomoriya, has opened a rice ball shop in Teramachi, Kyoto. You can take out or dine in at the shop. There are 12 varieties of rice balls with seasonal ingredients, such as red salmon with salmon roe for 330 yen, Hakata mentaiko for 330 yen, and tuna mayo for 198 yen. If you order 3 rice balls, the price will change depending on the combination, but you can get a little discount. However, you won't be able to choose the nori combination, as it will be one of the three options (Tsuki, Kaze, Shio). The autumn rice balls include shimeji rice (dashi shoyu rice with seasoned shimeji mushrooms) and chestnut rice (white miso rice with plenty of chestnuts). You can enjoy them on the second floor eat-in area by following the instructions to wrap the nori and take a big bite! The crispy nori is delicious, and the rice is not too tightly packed, giving a nice texture. The rice is 100% Koshihikari from Tanba, Kyoto, and the salt used is "Awajishima seaweed salt." The side dishes are sourced from "Kyona Ajinomura" in Kyoto. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. It was perfect for breakfast and very satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

Anyway, there were so many options and they all looked delicious. I had a hard time deciding, but I ended up choosing a mackerel rice ball and a salmon and salmon roe rice ball! I also bought miso soup and enjoyed it outside. The rice balls were delicious, and the miso soup was also tasty. It was a great meal!

forever friends

I have used both eat-in and take-out services at this restaurant, and I will review them together. A few days ago, I passed by the front of the shop and was attracted by the appealing onigiri displayed. I decided to meet a friend at the front of the shop and use it as a brunch spot. The shop has a sales space on the first floor and the eat-in area on the second floor. Even for eat-in, you need to order and pay on the first floor before going up to the second floor. The second floor eat-in space has tatami seating and counter seats along the wall. Since the tatami space was occupied by a school trip group, we sat at the counter seats. The shop was quite crowded with people waiting in line because I arrived a little late after the opening time. Luckily, my friend had saved us seats by informing the staff that we would be using the eat-in space for two people. There was a wide variety of onigiri with various fillings displayed in the sales space, along with bento boxes and side dishes. We purchased onigiri with cod roe, salmon and salmon roe, and dashimaki tamago. You can choose from three types of seaweed to wrap the onigiri: Tsuki, salt, and seasoned seaweed. I chose Tsuki and salt. The seaweed was individually wrapped in bags, maintaining its crispy texture and flavor. The onigiri, filled with generous ingredients, delicious rice, and seaweed, was simply irresistible! Therefore, I made a reservation on the last day of my stay to bring it back as a family dinner. The onigiri, which was both filling and delicious, received great reviews. However, the chicken karaage that I purchased along with it was not to our liking, which was a bit disappointing. It would have been better if the shop opened a bit earlier so we could have used it for breakfast, but I still plan to visit again. Thank you for the delicious meal!

On April 15th, a new onigiri specialty store called "Norimusubi Kyoto Teramachi Store" opened in Kyoto, located on the second floor of the Oimoya building. You can choose your nori and onigiri and enjoy them on the second floor. The grilled mackerel onigiri costs 330 yen, and the teriyaki chicken onigiri costs the same.
