I had made a reservation almost a month in advance and was looking forward to the day. It's a 75-minute time limit, but the food and drinks were brought to us quickly so we could relax and enjoy. The freshly grilled mitarashi dango was amazing, so soft and delicious. We could also have the ice cream brought to us at our preferred timing. Drizzling mitarashi sauce over the ice cream was also delicious. This has become a restaurant I want to visit again.

I made a reservation with a friend many days in advance and visited this restaurant. To put it mildly, it was an amazing place. The fact that you can eat mitarashi dango while it's still warm, along with the warm sauce and ice cream, was fantastic. It has become one of the restaurants I want to visit frequently.

It must have been about 10 years ago when I last visited this place. Back then, I walked from Namba Station, but this time I took the Midosuji Line and walked from Daikokucho Station. It's quite close this way. The surroundings have changed a lot since my last visit, with new buildings and construction going on. The café on the right side is now reservation-only, and there are no available slots until next month. On the left side, there is a shop. Even if you use the shop, you still need to get a ticket from the terminal at the entrance. I ordered the Grilled Mitarashi (290 yen for 2 pieces) and the Namayoshi Mochi Pudding with container (648 yen). I paid with PayPay. The Grilled Mitarashi was hot and fresh, so I quickly ate it outside the shop. It had plenty of sweet red bean paste, which was delightful. The Grilled Mitarashi from Namayoshi-an was delicious after a long time. Next, I want to take the Sakaisuji Line, so I will walk to Ebisucho Station. Thank you for the meal. The next day, I tried the Namayoshi Mochi Pudding. It had a rich orange-colored pudding with plenty of Mitarashi sauce on top. There was a soft piece of mochi at the bottom.

Recently, it's been crowded with people so it's difficult to eat inside, so I get takeout instead. Even if it cools down, you can heat it in a bowl with hot water for 5-7 minutes while still wrapped in plastic, and it will stay soft. It has plenty of filling and just the right amount of sweetness.

The customer service was very polite, almost overly so. I ordered the grilled mitarashi and mochi an doughnuts. I prefer the mitarashi with the anko boiled down a bit longer. The mochi an doughnut was delicious, it seemed freshly fried. It's a bit pricey, but it's a good choice for those who want to relax and take their time.

The mitarashi flavor was amazing! Not too sweet, not too spicy, just right! The texture of the raw dorayaki was soft and delicious, but I preferred the mitarashi flavor ❤️ The atmosphere of the shop was also really nice! The garden was well-maintained and the staff were friendly. It was a takeout, but it seems like you need a reservation for the cafe! I will definitely go back to buy more mitarashi!

I bought 5 mitarashi dango from a famous shop in Namba. Despite costing almost 1000 yen, I didn't feel a significant difference compared to the ones you can buy at the supermarket for 3 for 100 yen. One notable difference is that the dango from the shop are shorter, making them easier to eat. Supermarket dango can be difficult to eat when you get to the fourth one still on the skewer. Another difference I noticed when comparing them to the YAMAZAKI mitarashi dango from the supermarket is that the grilled mitarashi dango from the shop has a smoother texture, which I find more enjoyable.

I finally visited a famous traditional Japanese sweets shop I've always wanted to go to! I tried 5 mitarashi dango, a cream dorayaki, and a mochi-an donut, which cost around 1800 yen. It wasn't cheap, but definitely worth it as the sweets were incredibly delicious. I also wanted to visit the cafe, but it was full so I couldn't go in. I'll try the cafe next time.

I finally got to visit the cafe I've been wanting to go to after seeing it on Instagram. The cafe is by reservation only, so be careful. I brought my dog, so I reserved a terrace seat. It may feel a bit pricey, but the food was delicious and I'm satisfied. ✨

I came to buy souvenirs. I bought mitarashi dango to eat that day and mitarashi torotoro as a souvenir. The mitarashi dango, which is eaten by warming it up, was elegant in sweetness and the mochi was deliciously gooey. The souvenir "mitarashi torotoro" was also very well received. I will definitely buy them again when I'm nearby. The café is very popular, so I think it's necessary to go early or make a reservation. I will come again.

The entrance is impressive! It has a traditional feel! The atmosphere is amazing and I tried to use the cafe, but it seems you need a reservation, and it was fully booked so I couldn't eat inside. However, I bought a seared mitarashi and enjoyed it outside while it was freshly made. The rice cake melted in my mouth and the sweet bean paste was plentiful, it was incredibly delicious. One disappointing thing was that the staff seemed impatient and didn't show me the products slowly. Even when I asked about the products, they just pointed at them. Their expressionless face gave off a vibe of "Hurry up and decide." I wanted to take my time looking and choosing since it was my first time there, but with no smiles and no expression, their pressure was intimidating. It was disappointing how that staff member handled things. Other staff members were smiling and said "Thank you." Next time, I want to make a reservation and try the cafe.

I visited the main store of Nohyaku-an near Kuromon Market. The cafe was fully booked for reservations, so I decided to get takeout instead. It seems like there are many overseas customers here. With the popularity of social media, it's easy for tourists from abroad to find delicious restaurants. Despite being in the middle of the city, close to Namba, Nohyaku-an is a traditional Japanese confectionery shop with a quaint old house style and a Japanese garden, attracting many visitors to its cafe where you can enjoy their sweets. They sell various Japanese sweets, but their specialty is the grilled mitarashi. You order the grilled mitarashi and the skilled artisan grills it for you. I bought a pack of 5 grilled mitarashi. It comes with a generous amount of delicious sauce. The fragrant, grilled soft rice cake and ample sweet red bean paste are the highlights here. Once you start eating, you can't stop. I finished three of them in no time. Located at 1-7-31 Shikitsu Higashi, Naniwa-ku, Osaka City.

I passed by this shop that caught my eye. When I looked it up, it seemed to be so popular that you couldn't get in without a reservation, so I eagerly made a reservation online a month in advance. I was seated at the counter. It was like a bar counter and very stylish. I ordered the mitarashi dango and a drink set. The price was a bit high, but considering the hot dango with plenty of mitarashi sauce, the stylish atmosphere, and delicious drinks, it was completely worth it. The service was also good. Putting mitarashi sauce on vanilla ice cream was also amazing. I didn't buy any souvenirs this time, but if I have the chance to come again, I would like to buy some. It's a shame that it's fully booked with reservations and you can't just walk in, but it's a recommended cafe where you can relax.

I was surprised to find such a quiet place in the heart of the city. At the back of the garden is a charming Japanese confectionery café. Reservations are required and time slots are strictly set. The grilled mitarashi dango is truly exquisite. It's also delicious to drizzle the mitarashi dango sauce over ice cream. I think it's amazing how they have innovated traditional sweets to attract a younger crowd (including the atmosphere).

Sunrise hand-packed dorayaki set 1815 yen (including drink) ~ Situation ~ Visit on Monday around 3:00 PM. Reservation required. ~ Couple points ~ If you order two sets, you can share. ~ Taste, etc. ~ When you pass through the noren, you will find an atmosphere-filled space that is exciting. When you enter the store, you will be greeted by a slightly larger relaxed sound. You can order light snacks, and desserts come with drinks. The dorayaki that arrived were surprisingly small with a diameter of 7-8 cm, two sets, and three types of fillings that were definitely too much to finish. As expected, in the end, we were poking at the fillings while chatting, but each of the three types of fillings was delicious!! ~ Others ~ Cashless: Various cards, PayPay. Tissues: Hand wipes are available. Toilet: Clean and available. Time is limited to 1 hour and 15 minutes. I visited this place because the atmosphere in the photos looked nice, and it was just as good in person. I got the grilled mitarashi dango to go and enjoyed it at home after heating it up. It was the best mitarashi dango I've ever had in terms of size, softness, and flavor! I would like to try their café next time.

I made a reservation a month ago and visited the restaurant. The average menu price is around 2,000 yen per person, which is quite expensive for a Japanese sweets cafe. The reservation time is strictly enforced, so even if you arrive early, you have to wait until that time. I ordered the grilled mochi and kuzumochi, and I really enjoyed the kuzumochi.

The food was very delicious. The most popular dish, the seared mitarashi, was absolutely fantastic. Since it's by reservation only, we were able to get in without waiting, which was stress-free. However, it seems they only accommodate groups of 2 or more. I was happy to see that they serve tea from Ippodo. I will definitely visit again.

It seems that the conditions have changed recently, and even without a reservation, it is possible to use the eat-in service if there is availability. However, the location is in "Okunamba," so it would be tough to be turned away, so it's best to make a reservation before visiting. I visited on a weekday at 3:30 PM, and upon arriving at the quaint store, they confirmed if I had a reservation. It was fully booked for the day, and walk-ins were being turned away. Making a reservation was definitely the right choice. I ordered to share with my wife: Grilled Mitarashi (3 skewers with vanilla ice cream) for 1,815 yen, Warabi Mochi with kinako and black honey for 1,925 yen, and I changed the drink to a smoothie (Chilled Ame) for 330 yen. My wife ordered Gyokuro tea (Tamaryokucha) which was included in the set. The Grilled Mitarashi and Gyokuro tea were served in about 10 minutes. The Grilled Mitarashi was heated using solid fuel and had a slightly burnt, fragrant, sweet and salty flavor with a rich kelp broth. The mochi was soft and stretchy, and when mixed with the kinako and black honey, it was delicious. The vanilla ice cream paired well with the Mitarashi sauce. The Warabi Mochi was soft and sticky, and when mixed with kinako and black honey, it was very tasty. The Chilled Ame smoothie had a refreshing flavor with a hint of ginger and sweet water candy. The atmosphere of the store with its Taisho-era retro vibe and the excellent service from the staff were wonderful. I recommend making a reservation before visiting. Thank you for the meal!
