But it turned out the line was for the live house, and the sign outside the restaurant said "Experience Hokkaido cuisine." As I entered, I saw manga lined up like in a manga cafe, and the interior had simple table seating. We toasted with Singha Beer, a representative beer from Thailand, and Corona Beer, Mexico's No. 1 beer. It's past 8 p.m. on a holiday. No waiting in line. Located a short walk from Ebisu Station. No paper aprons or tissues (available at the counter). The first bite - Tom Yum Kung? Impossible. The second bite - if I were to describe it, it's like a curry-flavored medicinal herb bouillabaisse? Minestrone? The light and flavorful soup is so delicious that you can't stop sweating or using your spoon. It's addictive. Personally, I don't mind not having rice. The only two things that bothered me were that, while I love the soup, the ingredients were a bit disappointing compared to other famous places. The pumpkin was slightly burnt, and the chicken was a bit mushy. Having tried Lamy, Garaku, Suage, Samurai, Rakkyo, Kokoro, and Yellow, Yellow was the only one that didn't ask, "Would you like a paper apron?" I have tried soup curry in Sapporo, the birthplace, but I decided to taste it at one of the top 100 restaurants in Ebisu, Tokyo (laugh)!! Looking at the menu, I was drawn to the limited quantity menu with thick-cut bacon and beef tendon, etc. I ordered the melt-in-your-mouth braised pork & vegetables + fried potatoes + YEBISU draft beer (laugh)!! The tender braised pork came with a half-boiled egg. The dish was rich in vegetables such as pumpkin, cabbage, potatoes, shimeji mushrooms, radish, carrots, eggplant, bell pepper, and mizuna, making it delicious (laugh)!! The fried potatoes were served with ketchup instead of chili sauce, and they were also absolutely delicious (laugh)!! It's labeled as spicy, but for me, it was just the right amount of heat. The bacon slices are thick and there are four large pieces, providing a satisfying meal. The vegetables, though mostly submerged in the soup in the photo, are cut into big pieces including potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, eggplant, cabbage, shimeji mushrooms, and pumpkin. The deep-fried potatoes especially have a delicious flavor. The saffron rice with a squeeze of lemon is light and enjoyable. Overall, it was a very delicious meal. Thank you for the feast.

I personally prefer them to be cut a bit thicker though. The braised pork belly & vegetables (mild spiciness) had a natural and gentle flavor, and the tail soup was really nice. The pork belly was tender and flavorful. The saffron rice was cooked with slightly less moisture, which balanced well with the soup. The texture of the vegetables was also good, and the flavors were not reliant on seasonings, leaving a positive impression. I would like to revisit when I am in the area. Thank you for the meal.

The level 3 spiciness was a bit of a letdown; it might need to be level 4 or 5 for a stronger kick. This place allows you to challenge yourself with spiciness, and if you can handle the extreme heat, your name will be displayed in the restaurant (a couple of my colleagues' names are up there). However, when I saw it after a long time, it seemed to have stopped around 2018, so I wonder if they are still doing it now. Personally, I prefer to enjoy a moderate level of delicious spiciness, so I won't take on the challenge. I would like to visit again when passing by the area; it's delicious.

I had come in pretending to eat healthy, but that plan went out the window. The rice was turmeric rice, with a side of lemon. The soup was light yet flavorful, and the vegetables were tasty too. I ended up really liking it. Oh, and the shape of the spoon was a bit different. It's understandable given the location and the times, but it seems like they keep raising prices every few months. So, if you want to go, it might be best to go sooner rather than later. I would definitely like to visit this place again.

Tonight, I decided to indulge in soup curry after a long time and visited the 【Yellow Company Ebisu Main Store】 located about a 10-minute bike ride from the office. The exterior was quite dark and the building was under construction, making it a bit hard to find. Upon closer inspection, there were two signs. As I entered the store, the walls were filled with manga, predominantly from the Jump series, along with many popular manga. I was pleasantly surprised to find my personal favorite Bakuman. There are about 4 counter seats, several tables for 2, and around 50 seats in total. They also have a loft that can be reserved for private parties, which is a nice feature. After some research, it was recommended to try the shrimp-based soup curry. Although it costs an additional 100 yen and is limited to 20 servings, I had to try it! The rice portion was regular, and I ordered the Chicken & Vegetable with a spice level of 3. I also ordered a "Lactope," a dish made with milk and yogurt. It seemed like something similar to lassi. The star of the show arrived, the soup curry. It had a decent portion size and seemed satisfying to eat. The aroma of shrimp was irresistible. The curry was filled with plenty of vegetables like pumpkin, potatoes, eggplant, perfect for summer. It is said to contain 30 different spices. Personally, as you progress through the meal, the taste becomes increasingly charming, with just the right amount of spiciness. Gradually, sweat started to appear on my forehead, and I felt like all the unnecessary things were being removed from my body. The chicken was also quite substantial, with a perfect tenderness and great texture. Initially, I thought I should have ordered extra saffron rice, but surprisingly, I felt very satisfied after finishing the meal. I will definitely visit again when I want to have soup curry in Ebisu.
