It was a Saturday around 2 pm when I visited the café, and there was a one-group wait for tea time. Since they operate on a 90-minute time limit, it was understandable that there was a wait. I called ahead and found out there were 6 groups waiting, so it seemed like tea time was busy everywhere. Once we were seated, we were informed about the 90-minute limit, so we knew we would have to leave after that time. The pear and chocolate cake we ordered was a hit - it was rich and satisfying. I also tried a bite of the cheesecake, which was good, but when I'm in the mood for something sweet, a cream-based cake is the way to go. The scones I had before were okay, but if I come back here, I'll definitely go for a sponge cake with cream. The cheesecake plate was cute, but the cream cake was the winner.

I visited around lunchtime on a weekday, and the restaurant was not crowded, which was rare as they do not take reservations. This place is a gem where you can order on the same day. You can place your order from the time they open, but they have a 90-minute time limit. I ordered the Afternoon Set for ¥2,200, which included Uva tea with plenty of milk. The set also had a ham and cucumber sandwich, vanilla ice cream with yogurt and raspberry sauce, plain scone with clotted cream and blueberry jam, fruit pound cake, a mini jar of raspberry jam, Walker's chocolate chip cookie, and a purple sweet potato shortcake. Everything was delicious, and even though the portions seemed small, I ended up feeling satisfied. The staff kindly allowed me to take home the pound cake, jam jar, and cookie, which was a lovely gesture. I will definitely be coming back again.

Grosvenor Cafe is located about a 5-minute walk west from Kyobashi Station. After finishing lunch in 30 minutes, I had some time to spare. I found a charming cafe nearby where many people were enjoying post-lunch coffee. They also offer lunch sets, but it seems like most people come here for coffee. The cake set costs 1100 yen including tax. The showcase displays large cakes, and the most popular one is the Berry Shortcake. They mentioned a time limit of 90 minutes. When the cake arrived, I was impressed by the generous amount of berries on top. The berry sauce added a nice touch. The sponge was moist, and the cream was smooth. The tartness of the berries was delicious. Since it's an English-style cafe, I decided to have tea. I ordered a hot pot of tea, which was a pleasant surprise. I had the first cup straight and the second with milk. I didn't need to add sugar. The clientele seemed upscale, and the atmosphere was calm. It's completely smoke-free, which made for a comfortable experience. The restroom is shared with the building but separate for men and women. Visited on Saturday around 4:00 PM. The store was full, but luckily we were able to get in as people left. The interior has a relaxing atmosphere like a cafe. The customers were diverse, but there were slightly more middle-aged women. Very close to Kyobashi Station, perfect for a short break. The cake set is cost-effective and a good deal.
▶︎Berry Shortcake
- Excellent balance of acidity and sweetness

☆彡 I stopped by a British-style cafe with a retro and traditional coffee shop atmosphere after craving coffee after lunch. The menu had a wide variety of single origin options (*゚∀゚*) Great! After eating tonkatsu, I ordered a fruity coffee and waited. The Ecuador Great Mountain (¥700) is grown in high altitudes, fruity, and has a strong acidity. However, it had a high fragrance and was smooth with a fruity aroma and a hint of richness. Many fruity coffees lack a sense of excitement, but this one had a satisfying richness. The seating is limited to 90 minutes, and the showcase in the cafe has cakes, making it a good spot for a snack break as well (^ω^*)

I had always wanted to go there. Before the pandemic, it was 1,980 yen, but now it has increased to 2,200 yen. It's understandable considering the overall price increase trend. You can choose your drink and cake. I had Apple Queen and Uva tea. For cake, I had Strawberry Mont Blanc and a berry cake. The cakes are large and filling. The tea comes in a pot, so you get two cups. I also had a ham sandwich, plain scone, pound cake, shortbread, and jam. It was so much food that I had to take some home. It's a simple set but I'm satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I got off at Kyobashi on the Osaka Loop Line and decided to have lunch at this café nearby. The café had high ratings, so I was excited to try it out. They had a few lunch options on the menu displayed outside the store. I chose a pasta set with salad and a drink. The pasta was tomato-based with eggplant and bacon, and it was delicious. The café also had a variety of cakes and sweets that looked tempting. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.

I wanted to go to a cafe to have afternoon tea, but I was too full after my meal, so I opted for a cake set instead. I tried the pumpkin Mont Blanc and fig cake, but they were both sold out. So, I ended up getting a chocolate fruit cake and milk tea from the showcase. The cake had a gentle sweetness that I loved. The owner, who seemed to be managing the kitchen single-handedly, was very friendly, giving the impression that it was a family-run business. I even thought the person I was talking to might be their son. I had tea, but I still prefer coffee. I look forward to going back with friends next time for afternoon tea.

I went to GROSVENOR CAFE, an English-style cafe located near Osaka's Kyobashi Station on the north side, which I had been curious about for over 20 years but had never visited before. Despite living and working near Kyobashi, and even visiting the nearby Animate in the same building multiple times, I had ignored this cafe for 20 years until this month, when I visited for the second time. I became obsessed with their Dark Cherry and Chocolate cake, as well as their Foret Noire. I'm not a huge fan of whipped cream or a Foret Noire lover, but the fluffy texture with whipped cream and the juicy dark cherries were just amazing. I might even start a Foret Noire blog. The Dark Chocolate Fruit Shortcake was delicious too, but Foret Noire was the clear winner. I'm thinking of trying to make it myself next time. Dark cherries can be bought at grocery stores or online. I haven't made anything other than mix-and-bake cakes in recent years, so it might be a bit challenging. Oh, maybe I should include a challenge to make a delicious Foret Noire in the 56-day challenge announcement tomorrow. Will I make it every day? After work? Oh, maybe I should just quit my job. Will next week's blog title be "I Quit My Job to Make Foret Noire"? Not a bad idea... or is it? Well, let's put aside that joke and think about including cooking challenges. Like getting rid of brown bento boxes, brown dinners, or brown sweets... I have a feeling that getting rid of brown is already decided. For now, I'll set about 10 challenges for the first term and give it my best shot. Oh, I'm feeling excited right now ♡

I visited on a Saturday afternoon, and had to wait in line for a while due to the popularity of the cafe. They have a time limit for customers, so be aware of that when you visit. The cafe is conveniently located just a short walk from Kyobashi Station. The retro atmosphere inside the cafe is nice, with stylish tableware and furniture. The cakes and coffee were delicious! It was great that they have pumpkin cake available all year round!

This is a popular afternoon cafe with a strong feminine touch. The taste of all the items is delicious. The afternoon set includes a variety of cakes to choose from, about 10 different kinds! It's hard to decide as they all look so good. The bottom tier has a ham sandwich, while the top tier includes ice cream, cookies, pound cake, and scones served with clotted cream and jarred jam. The berry shortcake was quite large and filling. You can also take home any leftover sweets like jam and cookies. Everything was absolutely delicious.

I visited this popular restaurant after a long time and had to wait a little bit as usual. (There have been cases where customers were asked to leave after 90 minutes due to crowdedness.) They have a variety of cheesecakes, but not many other types of cakes, so if you don't like cheesecake, you might feel disappointed. I had the raspberry cheesecake, which had a perfect balance of sourness and sweetness and was very delicious. The tea was served in a pot with just the right amount. The tea leaves were left in the pot (not the type where they take out the leaves to prevent bitterness, which is my preference), but it wasn't too bitter.

Jumping into the rain... Around 12:35 with about 40% capacity... It's a bit difficult to find a seat? Are there reservations? There are some seats unavailable... I sat at a table near the front. It seems to be a 90-minute limit, but it's not a problem at all... I mean, I'm in work clothes, so I won't stay long, right? It's lunch break! When I asked for recommendations, they pushed the coffee... I thought this was a tea specialty shop, but they said they focus on coffee... There's a slight discrepancy with what's listed on Tabelog? I ordered a cake set with lemon tea and a peach Mont Blanc. The items arrived in about 4 minutes... What exactly is the definition of Mont Blanc? I just looked it up and it's supposed to be a white mountain... But this one is pink... I'm not sure if they used chestnuts in it... I understand the peach part though... Well, it's tasty... The lemon tea is also quite good... If I had more time, I would relax here... Oh no... I paid with 1000 yen in cash... I need to hurry back.

This is a cafe located on the north side of Keihan Kyobashi Station. It is easily accessible, right next to the entrance of a building. The exterior is a deep green color, giving off an English-style and pleasant atmosphere. Inside, there is a central display case filled with cakes, surrounded by tables, and a counter kitchen at the back, creating an open layout. The cafe has a cozy and unpretentious feel, fitting in well with the Kyobashi area. Currently, there is a 90-minute time limit for seating, and customers are informed of this upon arrival. The restroom is not inside the cafe but can be accessed through an entrance connected to the building (it's best to inform the staff before using it). Cake Set (¥1,000) allows you to choose a cake and a drink. The Berry Shortcake is a simple yet well-balanced dessert with various berries and peach filling. The Iced Straight Tea is served on the stronger side, with optional syrup provided separately. Overall, the cafe offers a comfortable setting and tasty desserts, making it a nice spot for a casual outing.

Today, I took a break here♪ After my stomach camera appointment, I felt like having something sweet so I came here. I heard that the afternoon tea set is popular here, but I decided not to get it because I don't think afternoon tea suits me. I have a peach allergy, but I decided to challenge it. The dessert had chunks of peach in it, with a light fragrance and sweetness that was very nice. I only had a small amount, so I didn't have an allergic reaction. However, I was a bit bothered by the fact that the staff's way of talking was very business-like. I think a female staff member might have been more suitable for this type of place. Overall, it was a good meal♪

Cost performance, the cake is average, the scone is not good. The taste is good. The service is average. I was asked to buy scones, but I also wanted to try the Basque cheesecake, so I bought it.
[Scone] 280 yen including tax
The scone was small for the price. It wasn't too dry, so it was delicious even without anything on it.
[Basque Cheesecake] 550 yen including tax
It was my first time trying Basque cheesecake. It's a delicious cheesecake.

It's a cafe with a relaxing atmosphere. I ordered a cake set. I had lemon tea and baked cheesecake, while my companion had orange juice and a large strawberry Mont Blanc cake (*^^*) It was delicious. The stylish interior and cake set are perfect for Instagram. Next time, I might try the afternoon tea set♪

It has been 26 years since Animate Kyobashi moved to the second floor of this building when I was a student. This shop opened three years later, but it was my first time visiting. Recently, I received Walker's shortbread as a gift at Hankyu's British Fair. The Afternoon Set included black tea, Uva cake, and pumpkin Mont Blanc.

I had some free time, so I decided to have tea. I ordered the highly rated afternoon tea set based on reviews, which cost 1900 yen. The portion was amazing!! The set included cakes such as gateau chocolat, berry shortcake, pumpkin cheesecake, seasonal cake (fig on that day), and framboise (with blackberries, I heard). I could choose from several types. Scones, sandwiches, cookies, pound cake, and jam were also included, and if you couldn't finish them, you could take them home! I couldn't choose the top 2 most expensive types of tea, but I could choose from the others. I ordered the 650 yen Ub tea, which was incredibly easy to drink!! It had no bitterness or astringency, just a lovely tea aroma. There were about 3 and a half cups in the teacup. I chose the berry shortcake for the cake. It was sweet and sour and delicious. I'm not a fan of heavy whipped cream, but the cream was just right, not too sweet or heavy. The berry sauce on the cake was sweet and sour and light, so I could eat it quickly. They also had thorough COVID-19 measures in place, with a 90-minute time limit. Highly recommended!

The volume was amazing. Even though it's a choose-your-own cake place, I felt that it lacked the charm of an afternoon tea because the most delicious fruit cake cost an extra 100 yen. The fruit cake was delicious. Everything else was just average. The tea selection was extensive and tasty, so I would like to go back again. The interior of the shop is very cute. If I go again, I might just have cake and tea. The staff could improve by being a bit more relaxed in their customer service.
