I heard that there is a delicious wood-fired Neapolitan pizza restaurant in Terada-cho, so I visited Pizzeria KOBERTA. The pizzas range from 950 yen to 1,350 yen, with over 10 options to choose from, and come with appetizers and soup. The restaurant is located along Tamatsukuri-suji, with a refreshing marine-themed exterior of white walls and blue tiles. The simple yet stylish design is inviting, and the interior is bright and cozy like a cafe. There is a large wood-fired oven at the entrance, with a counter facing the kitchen with 4 seats. There are 3 tables for 4 people and 1 table for 2 people. It was almost empty when I arrived shortly after opening on a weekday, but customers gradually started coming in around noon. The lunch hours are from 11:30 to 14:00 on weekdays and weekends (closed on Wednesdays) (Please check the latest information on the business format and hours from the restaurant).
Lunch Menu (all prices include tax) (appetizers and soup included):
- Pizza A (Marinara) 950 yen
- Pizza B 1,050 yen (Margherita, Siciliana)
- Pizza C 1,150 yen (Today's pizza, Napoletana, Diavola: chili, salami, tomato, Acciughe: anchovy, mascarpone, mozzarella, no tomato sauce, Shirasu Marinara: no cheese)
- Pizza D 1,350 yen (Prosciutto e Insalata, Roast Ham & Corn, Quattro Formaggi)
- Pasta Lunch 1,050 yen (Clam and zucchini in tomato sauce, Tuna and spring cabbage in oil sauce pasta with yuzu pepper flavor)
- Limited quantity Wood-fired Lasagna 1,050 yen
I ordered the wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, and since the special of the day was pork belly and shiso leaf in tomato sauce, I chose that. I started with the appetizers and soup. The appetizer plate included salad, soup, frittata, and potato salad with anchovy and onions. The warm carrot potage was rich and creamy with a subtle sweetness of carrots. The salad had a nice balance of oil and powdered cheese, and the ham added a nice touch. The frittata with ham was savory and the cheese on top complemented it well. The potato salad with anchovy had a creamy and smooth texture with a good umami flavor. The hot pizza arrived in less than 10 minutes. The pork belly and shiso leaf in tomato sauce pizza had a beautiful golden brown color. The crust had a nice smoky flavor from the wood-fired oven, with a subtle wheat aroma and a slightly restrained saltiness. The center was thin but chewy, while the crust had a thick and chewy texture. The tomato sauce was fresh and fruity, with a good balance of sweetness and acidity. The pizza was generously topped with juicy and flavorful pork belly, and the refreshing shiso leaf paired well with it. The chili oil on the table added a nice kick to the flavors. The crust became chewier as time passed, but the smoky aroma and chewy texture were still enjoyable. The generous toppings and cheese made it quite filling. If there are leftovers, they can be taken home. The tomato sauce was light and sweet, so the Napoletana with anchovies, basil, and garlic might also be a good choice. The prices of 950 to 1,350 yen, including appetizers and soup, seemed quite reasonable for wood-fired Neapolitan pizza. I might try the limited quantity wood-fired lasagna next time. Thank you for the meal!
