On this day, I had some errands in Ebisu with my children. We decided to have a late lunch here on our way back. This is an acclaimed restaurant for shark fin dishes. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you'll see a huge shark fin displayed at the counter. However, in our family (especially in front of the children), we don't eat shark fin. I mentioned this in a review of this Ginza branch as well, but shark fin fishing is cruel and often associated with dark practices, leading many species to the brink of extinction. Considering this situation, I believe it's important for each of us to refrain from consuming it as much as possible, as even small actions like these can make a difference. Therefore, the children had a set meal. Among the predominantly shark fin-based menu items, we ordered: - Stir-fried Chinese vegetables (with garlic) (¥2,800) - Spring rolls (¥1,000) - Crab meat fried rice (¥1,800) - Negi (green onion) and char siu (roasted pork) spicy dipping noodles (¥1,600) - Plum sherbet (¥800) Also, sesame dumplings and oolong tea. I felt like the staff hesitated a bit when our order was placed... First, the stir-fried vegetables arrived. They were perfectly crunchy and stir-fried, receiving high praise from everyone! The slight flavor variation with oyster sauce was also wonderful! The spring rolls were filled with pork, and dipping them in salt created a perfect combination! Even the children loved it! The crab meat and lettuce fried rice had fluffy crab meat, crunchy lettuce, and perfectly cooked rice. It was so flawless that it seemed impossible to make a better fried rice! The highlight was the Negi and char siu spicy dipping noodles. The thinly sliced negi and char siu paired incredibly well with the thin noodles, making it very easy to eat! The broth had more of a numbing sensation than spiciness, but it was so delicious that my son eagerly devoured it, as expected, and even my daughter, who doesn't like spicy food, enjoyed it a lot! Whether it was the stir-fry, spring rolls, fried rice, or dipping noodles, they were all so delicious that just thinking about them makes me want to eat them again. The taste and quality were exceptional even without ordering any shark fin! The fact that they warmly accommodated my impolite order of not having shark fin at a renowned shark fin restaurant and provided such delicious dishes truly impressed me. It was incredibly delicious! If I were to dine here again, I might consider having shark fin on very special occasions only, as a fleeting thought crossed my mind (^_^;). Thank you for the wonderful meal!
