I went to Yakiniku Kunimoto Shinkan in Hamamatsucho for the first half of Golden Week. With a group of close friends, we finally visited Kunimoto Shinkan, a yakiniku restaurant we had been wanting to go to for a while. If you love yakiniku, you've probably heard of Kunimoto before. Kunimoto has both a main store and a new building, each with its own unique charm, and it's a popular spot with many fans. The Kunimoto-originated Kaneko in Daikanyama is also quite popular. We visited the new building first with five people, and since there were regular customers there, we left the ordering up to them. Here's what we ordered: premium assorted meats, thick-cut beef (large portion), seared thinly sliced beef, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), Chorogi salad, bean sprout namul, Chinese cabbage kimchi, garlic rice, and Morioka cold noodles. For Kunimoto-style yakiniku, we always start with the premium assorted meats. There are three types, and this time we chose the premium one. When the beautiful meats arrived, the top two were salted and the bottom four were marinated. Both were incredibly delicious, but the marinated meats were particularly to my liking. Even with marbled cuts, they were so delicious that I was surprised I didn't feel heavy afterwards. The quality is really high. The thinly sliced beef tartare is a must-try and it's super delicious. The thick-cut beef is also, of course, delicious. We ordered it with both sauce and miso sauce, and both were excellent. The garlic rice, Morioka cold noodles, salad, kimchi, etc., were all exceptionally tasty! Especially the garlic rice, I loved the flavor so much. While they also offer tongue and other cuts, I think it's best to just enjoy the premium assorted meats here. The staff were very friendly and it was a wonderful restaurant. Next time, I want to visit the main store!
