kinako-anko
On July 26, 2023, I finally had the opportunity to visit "Taishu Chuyu Kah Shokudo Hakkai," a popular Chinese restaurant that moved near Kawai Nagaoka Station in Higashiosaka City in November 2021. I had been looking forward to this visit with Nara's Myrebi master, and the day finally came. We took the JR Tozai Line Rapid train from Osaka Tenmangu Station, changed at Osakako Station to the JR Osaka Higashi Line, and arrived at Kawai Nagaoka Station just before 6:00 pm.
The restaurant is known for its delicious Chinese cuisine, curry, and even a fusion of Chinese and Mongolian cuisine. I was excited to try their dishes. This time, I went with Myrebi master from Nara, his friends, and Myrebi's daughter, a total of four people. We sat at a table by the wall and shared the following dishes and drinks:
- Stir-fried green vegetables
- Fluffy egg Spice Chicken Nanban
- Gyoza x2
- Pork Tempura
- Hormone Stir-fried Noodles
- Water dumplings
- Raw Lamb Genghis Khan (assorted)
- Osamu-style Curry (assorted)
- Drinks: Draft beer, white wine, red wine, and sweet potato shochu
We started with a toast with draft beer and enjoyed the Stir-fried green vegetables, which were a mix of greens and minced meat with spices. The Fluffy egg Spice Chicken Nanban was beautifully presented with colorful cherry tomatoes and herbs, and the flavors were unique and delicious. The Pork Tempura surprised us with its bone-in spare ribs, and the Hormone Stir-fried Noodles had a delightful chewy texture.
The highlight of the meal was the Raw Lamb Genghis Khan, a specialty from Hokkaido. The meat was tender and juicy, and the sweet onions from Awaji Island complemented it perfectly. We ended the meal with Osamu-style Curry, which featured four different curry dishes, each with its own distinct flavor.
Overall, the dining experience at "Taishu Chuyu Kah Shokudo Hakkai" exceeded my expectations. The food was incredibly delicious, and I would love to visit again in the future.
