I came to the area near Morishita Station. The purpose of coming here is to aim for the "Curry Bread from the Top 100 Stores." I arrived at Cattleya. Cattleya is one of the top 100 bread shops in 2022. I entered the shop at 2:00 p.m. A female staff member noticed me and said, "We are currently sold out of curry bread." What?! She said, "The curry bread will be baked and ready after 3:00 p.m." Oh, an hour, my daughter likes it, so I'll wait. There's a park nearby anyway. So, I'll wait a bit. When I went back at 2:50 p.m., they were already selling it. Even though they said it would be ready after 3:00 p.m.! I hurried to line up and bought the last spicy one. The regular ones were still available. I was planning to buy 4 curry breads, but ended up buying 5. Yes, to eat them fresh. Holding the freshly made curry bread, I hurried back to the park. Is it still hot? I'll eat the round spicy one. It's still a bit hot. It's crispy! Wrapped in fine and crispy batter, oh. The aftertaste is spicy (lingering in the back of the throat). The bread crust is thin. The batter is finely crispy and indeed delicious. I can even taste the sweetness of the burnt crust. It's thin but has a presence. A slightly spicy curry filling. The ingredients are finely chopped and have a good texture (slightly firmer than the curry roux preferred by Japanese people). It was a curry bread that warmed me up in the winter park. The next day (regular one). The day after purchasing, I warmed up the regular one on top of a rugby ball in the microwave (until hot) and then crisped up the surface in the oven (just slightly burnt). It's hotter than when freshly baked. I might get burned, but it's delicious. The fluffy feeling is gone, replaced by a crispy texture. The crust is thin as well. But it still has a presence. The curry inside is sticky and chewy (even chewier than when freshly baked), and like the spicy one, the ingredients almost lose their shape. The taste is a gentle curry. A hint of spice is just right. It's nice to be able to enjoy it the next day too. Thank you for the meal. I always thought freshly baked bread was the best, but even the next day, Cattleya's curry bread is delicious. I particularly liked the crust or batter more than I had imagined. I'm thinking of buying a large quantity next time.

Visited on Saturday at 11:30. There were many curry breads to choose from! I think it's my 5th time here. The spicy one is round in shape! I prefer spicy flavors. This time, I decided to do a taste comparison after a long time, so I bought both. The photo isn't great, but... when you eat the spicy one, the regular curry bread tastes sweet in comparison! The freshly baked time is at 11 o'clock, but even at this time, they were warm and delicious enough. Will definitely come back~★

I visited around 12:30 on Saturday. There were about 5-6 people inside the restaurant. As soon as I entered, there was spicy curry bread, and I thought they only had spicy options, but to my relief, there were also sweet and medium spicy options a little further away. The sweet one was round-shaped, not spicy, and would be loved by children. The medium spicy one, shaped like a rugby ball, had a spicier aftertaste than I expected. The coffee bun was a bit too much for me, as I don't like coffee. The Saturday-only natural yeast bread was moist, chewy, and delicious. When I toasted it the next day, it was crispy and tasty.

As I was walking towards Morishita Station, I came across a sign that read "Original Curry Bread." While the term "original" is quite common, this one seemed genuine, sparking my interest. I bought it right when it was freshly baked. The curry bread cost 271 yen. The sweetness of the ingredients, gentle spices, and crispy bread crumbs all gave me a nostalgic feeling, even though it was my first time trying it.

Hello, I'm a gourmet actor. Tonight, I went to the famous bread shop Cattleya in Morishita, Koto-ku. Cattleya is well-known for its original curry bread, which has been featured on TV! It's easy to spot along the street! The original curry bread tends to sell out quickly in the evening, so I recommend going early! You'll realize the amazing impact and influence of TV! Besides the curry bread, Cattleya also offers other delicious bread, so even if the curry bread is sold out, you can still enjoy other options! The shop is located just between Morishita and Kiyosumi-Shirakawa! Additionally, when you purchase bread, you receive exchange tickets, so collecting them may lead to something special! It's no surprise that they've been selected as one of the top 100 shops! Apart from the curry bread, I recommend the Wiener bread and the mentaiko (spicy cod roe) bread!! It's truly delightful to see a long-standing bakery still leading the pack! This is the kind of place that makes you hope it will continue for a long time to come! Original curry bread 238 yen Ratatouille 194 yen Focaccia 238 yen Fresh tomato and mozzarella focaccia 259 yen Wiener egg 238 yen Tuna roll 162 yen Salt bread 140 yen

While looking at a famous bakery, I found the familiar "Katorea" store, known for its original curry bread among the top 100 bakeries. I just started writing reviews a few months ago ^^; I've been buying it for gifts for friends' shops and companies since before. They have sweet and spicy options that can be enjoyed by both adults and children. It's filling with just one, satisfying for a light snack. The name "original curry bread" gets a good response. I prefer the sweet one. It has a lot of filling and thin dough. It feels more like eating the filling rather than eating the curry bread itself. It could even pass as a curry bread with a slice of sandwich bread in hand (^_^;) It's a traditional bakery, so it's open from early in the morning. Many people seem to buy in the morning for lunch.

Located just a short walk from Morishita Station, this lovely bakery is nestled in a warm neighborhood atmosphere. Despite its cozy feel, this shop is actually the birthplace of curry bread! I stopped by on my way to MOT and took a little stroll. They offered two types of curry bread, spicy and original, so I purchased the original one. The original curry bread, neatly packaged in a lovely bag, had a mildly sweet curry filling inside a soft, not overly dense bread. It was a comforting and delicious taste without any gimmicks. Located a 3-5 minute walk from Morishita Station is Bakery Cattleya. This bakery, which opened in the surprising year of 1877 and is famous for the original curry bread created in 1927. It was selected as one of the top 100 bakeries in Tokyo in 2022. In addition to the curry bread, there are many traditional side-dish breads available, all at reasonable prices. It's a delight that makes them easy to purchase. The bakery is bustling with customers buying bread early in the morning, so it's best to visit early. This time, I tried the original curry bread. True to its name, it was delicious without unnecessary alterations. The smooth curry paste and the gentle sweetness of the onions were impressive, and the balance between the crispy texture and the generous amount of curry filling was excellent! If you love curry bread, you must try this bread with a significant historical background. Please visit and enjoy it. Thank you for the meal!

Visited a famous shop known for their original curry bread on a sunny Saturday at 11:00. The deliciousness of this bakery, which has been loved in the city since old times, was comforting after eating only expensive bread recently. I thought the balance of price and taste was excellent. The impressive craftsmanship of the lady at the counter during payment stood out. She wrapped and calculated swiftly ✨

I went early in the morning so I could leisurely shop. I toasted the curry bread for 2 minutes until the surface was crispy and then ate it. It was packed with filling and very satisfying! The delicious pork cutlet sandwich was flavorful and tender. The French toast was soft and fluffy, very tasty. Lastly, I also tried the popular No. 1 cream bread and red bean bread! I'll freeze the curry bread to eat later.

On my way back from Daimon, I stopped by the famous curry bread shop in Morishita that was featured on TV. They said it's likely to sell out, but there were about five trays piled up, like they were prepared for a huge crowd. I just bought one for now. By the way, I was the only one buying just one... Payment is cash only... It costs 260 yen plus tax, so 281 yen in total. I got 9 yen change, which is a bit too much...

I purchased the original curry bread, spicy original curry bread, and American donut. The curry bread is packed with curry and the aroma of fried bread and curry stimulates the appetite. I preferred the spicy version as it had a stronger aroma compared to the regular one. It's delightful how the curry almost spills out when you take a bite. Oh, delicious. The American donut has a fluffy texture and is not too sweet. Enjoying it with coffee after the curry bread created a delicious combination of spicy, sweet, and bitter flavors. Thank you for the meal.

Closed on Sundays and Mondays, open from 7:00 to 18:30. Around 10 customers inside on a Saturday at 3:00 PM. It's a small shop where you choose while waiting in line at the register. Original Curry Bread for 302 yen, rated 3.3 stars. The dough is thin and crispy, the curry inside is yellow and quite smooth, maybe due to a lot of wheat. It tasted sweet at first but then the spiciness kicks in. The ingredients were melted, so I couldn't tell what was inside.

I went for a walk in the morning and ended up in Asakusa. The bakery I wanted to visit was closed for Obon holiday, so I found Cattleya nearby. I arrived at the shop around 11:30 after taking the subway and walking. It's right by Morishita Station exit. I like the vibe of local bakeries like this one. The shop had a variety of bread, but the curry bread is recommended! They advertise it as the original curry bread. I bought the curry bread for 281 yen, an anpan for 194 yen, and a cream bread for 194 yen. While taking photos inside the shop, I received a description of the curry bread from the staff. It's a nice atmosphere. When I got home, I followed the instructions to warm up the curry bread in the microwave and then toast it. Wow, it's incredibly delicious. The bread is thin but chewy. The curry inside is packed with plenty of vegetables' sweetness. This will surely become popular. The next morning, I had the anpan and cream bread. The red bean paste in the anpan is smooth and refreshing. The cream in the cream bread is light. It's a nostalgic taste. I definitely want to have that curry bread again.

It's about a 1km walk from Ryogoku Station. It's less than a minute from Morishita Station. This is the birthplace of curry bread. Today I bought the original curry bread and the spicy curry bread. The total was 572 yen. The curry flavor is a standard taste that has been around for a long time. Both are filled with curry all the way to the edges, tightly packed in a thin crust, and delicious. The spicy curry bread was quite spicy even for someone who likes spicy food like me. Eating two of them filled me up. There are times when they are freshly fried, so it might have been even more delicious if I had eaten them while they were piping hot. I enjoyed them very much until the end. Thank you for the meal.

Before entering the shop, you can already smell the curry. Inside, in addition to curry bread, there are many nostalgic breads lined up. ■Order details○Black tea toast 200 yen A bread that smells like black tea French toast, with apple and custard cream sandwiched in between. It's delicious. If it were nearby, I might end up buying it without thinking.○Fukagawa anpan 240 yen A nostalgic anpan with a thin sweet red bean paste wrapped in Danish pastry, sprinkled with sesame seeds.○Sweet bread 90 yen A bread like a slightly sticky cupcake, with a gentle sweetness.○Original curry bread 260 yen Warmed in the microwave for 20 seconds as per the recipe, then baked in the toaster for 2 minutes. The crust becomes crispy as if freshly fried, and the curry is delicious without being too spicy.○Original spicy curry bread 270 yen The fluffy dough is fried to a crispy texture, and the curry is indeed spicy. When warmed up, it smells delicious.■Miscellaneous notes Katorea's predecessor was Meihan Do, founded in Fukagawa Tokiwa-cho in the 10th year of Meiji. In 1927, it was registered as a utility model under the name "Western-style bread," which is said to be the root of curry bread.

I visited the restaurant to buy their specialty original curry bread. I learned that the original curry bread is a registered trademark. The storefront displayed the baking times, which were 7:00 and 11:00 in the morning. I arrived around 10:30 without knowing, so I must have eaten the curry bread baked at 7:00. It still had a crispy texture, and I felt that it was a masterpiece that supported the restaurant's reputation as a top-notch establishment.

I tried the curry bread here, which boasts being the original. The bread is thin and filled with a generous amount of curry filling. I don't remember having had a curry bread with so much curry inside before. I felt very satisfied after eating the curry bread. Personally, I am more used to modern versions with meat and cheese, so when comparing it to those, I prefer the current style. However, considering that today's curry bread exists because of the original, those who are particular about curry bread should definitely try it at least once.

Katorea is popular for their curry bread. I visited on a Saturday around 11 o'clock, and the shop was bustling with several customers. I purchased curry bread and sandwiches. The curry bread was served promptly. It was surprisingly heavy and packed with a generous amount of curry filling. Unlike typical curry bread with air pockets, this one was filled only with curry, emphasizing its rich flavor and spiciness. It was delicious! It's no wonder this place is so popular.
