There are a few times a year when I suddenly crave Marugame Ramen. Today was one of those days (lol). When I go to Marugame, there's hardly any surprises... I always go for the meat soba and fried rice set (with free extra rice). I feel like this menu offers the best value. Today, I noticed something strange - the beaten egg poured onto the hot plate for the fried rice wasn't yellow (sweat). It was more like a skin color, or a light brownish hue. Once it cooked, it looked like egg... I wonder what it was?

I went to Marugen and tried their numbingly spicy Mala Tan Tan noodles this time!! I got the noodles in a large portion. The photo is a bit awkward, my photography skills are not great lol. The spiciness is like a level 5, but it's not too spicy. The sesame adds a mellow richness and flavor, making it quite easy to eat. The numbing sensation is not too strong. The scent of Sichuan pepper is quite nice. There's plenty of minced meat and lots of white leeks, with bean sprouts at the bottom. I added some table chili oil halfway through to increase the spiciness and it was delicious with a lingering taste. Thank you for the meal!

On a rainy day, I drove to the restaurant. The parking lot was spacious and shared with the neighboring yakiniku restaurant. Inside, I was seated at the counter as a solo diner. The menu was on a tablet in front of me for ordering. The restaurant focused on meat soba dishes, and I chose the spicy meat soba since I like spicy food. I opted for double meat with seasoned egg, but changed the meat to gyoza. The gyoza arrived first, followed by the spicy meat soba. The noodles were thin and straight, and the soup was not as spicy as it looked, but had a delicious spicy flavor. The chopped leeks added a nice touch. The meat was pork belly and there was plenty of it. It was a good choice not to get double meat. The gyoza was tasty, but 6 pieces were too much. I wished they had a half order available. I left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied.

I had dinner at Marugen Ramen for the first time in a while. When I went this time, I noticed that ordering was done through a tablet. It was convenient and nice, right? It's easy to add items too. This time, I had the spicy meat ramen!! I got double meat, extra noodles, and a flavored egg. Spicy meat ramen is really delicious. The spiciness isn't too strong, so I think it's easy to eat. I got double meat, so there was plenty of it. There was also a lot of leeks, which was nice. The noodles were thin and smooth. Despite being thin, they didn't get soggy easily, had a good texture, and I personally really liked them. I think I want to add more grated daikon radish next time haha. Thank you for the meal.

This is a popular restaurant for families with children. Each table has a baby chair similar to a Bumbo seat. Amazing! The noodles were a bit firm, but the fried rice was delicious. It's great that you can get a large serving. Thank you for the meal.

I visited "Marugen Ramen Kodaira" after a long time. I arrived at 11:30 in the morning and saw a line of waiting customers... or so I thought. However, I found a ticket system and was the only person in line, so I entered the restaurant in a few minutes. Today, I had the nostalgic "Aged Soy Sauce Meat Soba W" for ¥880 (tax included). It took about 15 minutes to be served, probably because it was crowded. The taste was consistently delicious, but I felt that the meat was a bit different... it was tough and dry. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal! Visit time: 11:30-12:10. Recommended rating: ★★★★

This is my first review in a while, after visiting the restaurant a few times since my last review. It was around 6:30 PM on Saturday. There were empty seats but it felt like they were struggling to keep up with cleaning. I waited a few minutes before being called. The place was quite busy. This time, I tried the aged soy sauce chashu ramen in large size for the first time. It came with chashu, seasoned egg, seaweed, bamboo shoots, and green onions - a simple chashu ramen. The soup had a strong soy sauce flavor with a good balance of sweetness and richness, quite delicious. The noodles were thin and smooth, with a good texture. The chashu was tender, but I personally prefer a bit more meaty texture. The bamboo shoots were thick but too soft. This was not to my liking. The price goes over 1000 yen for a large size. It might be a bit expensive. Overall, it was a good meal.

Today, I went quite far for some errands and ended up getting hungry around lunchtime. I decided to come to this place because it's only available in the suburbs, not in the city center. It was a Sunday afternoon, so there was a bit of a wait even after 1 pm. I ordered the meat soba with extra green onions and a seasoned egg on top. The presentation was quite nice with a generous amount of crispy green onions. The soup was tasty but nothing special. The thin noodles coated well with the soup and were enjoyable. However, the green onions didn't blend well with the lukewarm soup, so I had to let them soak a bit before eating. I added fried garlic for extra flavor, but it lacked a punch. I also ordered an extra serving of noodles, which was the best part of the meal. It took a while to arrive due to the busy restaurant, and by the time it did, the noodles had dried up a bit on the surface. The lukewarm soup made the experience less satisfying. Overall, the meal was tasty, but I felt that it was challenging to enjoy it fully with the crowded seating. I would like to try it again on a quieter weekday.

This is a ramen shop located along Fuchu Street, on the same premises as a yakiniku restaurant. They are famous for their meat soba topped with plenty of thinly sliced pork. It was quite crowded during lunchtime. I waited for about 10 minutes before being seated at a table towards the back. I ordered the meat soba and waited for it to arrive. When it was brought to me, it looked like this. I felt like there was less oil compared to my previous visit, and it was relatively light. The thinly sliced meat was delicious, right?

Visited with my family. Chose a restaurant that can satisfy the needs of those who want spicy food, those who want meat, and those who want something light after heavy dining out. It was our first time here. The restaurant was filled with people of all ages, including many families. The menu was diverse and suitable for families. They had exceptionally spicy homemade chili oil for you to customize your dish. It was satisfying to be able to eat such spicy food at a restaurant where families with children also come. Thank you for the meal. We will come back again.

Marugen Ramen specializes in selling meat soba. It is a soy sauce-based ramen with a broth made from a mix of animal (pork and chicken) and fish stock, with pork and chicken fat floating on top. They offer a meat soba set with fried dumplings, as well as a fried rice dumpling set. The parking lot is also spacious. Thank you for the meal.

Hmm. It was a bit different from what I expected haha. I ordered Niku-soba (meat noodles) with 3 gyoza and 2 pieces of karaage (fried chicken) (930 yen). The Niku-soba came with toppings of yuzu pepper, grated radish, green onions, pork, and sliced onions. The soup base was a sweet soy sauce with chicken and pork bones, which wasn't really to my liking. I think some people might enjoy it though. About halfway through my ramen, the gyoza and karaage arrived. I'm not a fast eater, so it would have been nice if they came a bit sooner. The restaurant is spacious and kid-friendly, so it's a good place to go with children. When we ordered a kids' menu, they gave us a toy as a gift, which was a nice touch to keep the kids entertained. I had passed by this restaurant several times by car, but this time I finally entered "Marugen Ramen". The branch seems to be located in various places. The back of the restaurant has a large parking lot, which is very convenient. I was hungry, so I ordered the "Fried Rice and Gyoza Set" for ¥980, excluding tax. The signature ramen is the "Niku Soba". Even though it's called soba, it's definitely ramen. You can choose other ramen for the set by paying the price difference. The menu photos are small and hard to see. The Fried Rice and Gyoza Set arrived with three gyoza. Just having the gyoza alone wouldn't be enough. This time, I couldn't have beer since I was driving. After a while, the ramen arrived in a slightly small bowl. This shop seems to have confidence in their "aged soy sauce". The soup had a rich flavor but was also smooth. The noodles were thin and curly. The gyoza was simply delicious. Then, the fried rice arrived! The hot plate had fried rice on it, and beaten eggs were poured around the fried rice. It would have been better if the egg was half-cooked, but the hot plate made the egg almost fully cooked. I should have mixed the fried rice, egg, and shredded meat topping immediately, but I was in the middle of eating the ramen. Maybe I shouldn't have left the fried rice untouched. I was full. Thank you for the meal.

Marugen Ramen, Kodaira Branch, is located near the Tamagawa Aqueduct on Fuchu Kaido Street, close to Tsuda University, facing Yakiniku King and with a large parking lot at the back. The interior has table seats separated by screens, including a 6-person table. Marugen Char Siu Ramen and Karaage Gyoza Set for 1,180 yen. Marugen Char Siu Ramen includes plenty of Char Siu, Menma, Negi, boiled egg, and seaweed. The chicken soy sauce soup is rich and delicious, and the slightly curly straight thin noodles are chewy and tasty. The Iso Nori Shio Ramen has a deep yet refreshing taste, with good compatibility with Iso Nori. The fried chicken is crispy and delicious. Payment is made after the meal. Marugen Ramen started in Anjo City, Aichi Prefecture, offering toppings of simmered pork in the soup, with a lineup of Tonkotsu, Aged Soy Sauce Ramen, Champon, and a unique style of fried rice. The noodles can be made with 50% reduced carbohydrates. Tokyo, Kodaira City. Along Fuchu Street, near Tsuda University. I found myself at Marugen Shoten again. It was bustling with many customers before noon. I think I'll try completing all the ramen options at Marugen Shoten. On this day, I had the salt ramen for 748 yen (tax included). I also ordered gyoza for 308 yen (tax included). The ramen had nori seaweed that coated half of the bowl, as well as menma and chashu. The nori seaweed added a delicious flavor as it mixed with the soup and noodles. The soup was light and clear, and I could have easily finished it all, but for the sake of my health, I decided not to. Thank you for the meal.

Tokyo, Kodaira City. Along Fuchu Street, near Tsuda University. Entered the restaurant late at night. Ordered vegetable champon for 748 yen and garlic gyoza for 308 yen to replenish the tired body. When it comes to champon, it's associated with Nagasaki. When it comes to champon, it's associated with Ringer Hut. It's been a while since I had champon. I eat it occasionally, but it's delicious. It was my first time at Marugen. There was an option for a large serving of vegetables, but I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it so I gave up. I ordered garlic gyoza for an extra stamina boost. Thank you for the meal.

Tokyo, KODAIRA City. Along the Fuchu street. Near Tsuda University. There used to be a Taiwanese ramen POP that caught my attention. I suddenly felt like eating Taiwanese ramen and decided to go in. The Taiwanese ramen was 842 yen and the gyoza was 302 yen. It was quite crowded during lunchtime. It's popular. The ramen arrived! It's not too spicy. It could be a bit spicier. But it's delicious. Maybe they made it to suit Japanese taste. I wish they had black vinegar to go with it. The black vinegar from Shandong Province in China would be great! I ordered the gyoza without garlic. It was also delicious without garlic. Thank you for the meal.

Tokyo, Kodaira City. Along the Fuchu Street, near Tsuda Juku University. Next to Tsuda Umeko's Tsuda Juku University. All-you-can-eat yakiniku restaurant next door. It's nice to have a spacious parking lot. Even though lunchtime is a bit past, there are many customers. The lunch menu is available until 5 pm on weekdays. Today I had miso ramen. I ordered it because I had delicious miso ramen at another restaurant. It comes with bean sprouts and garlic chives on top. The soup doesn't seem to be aged much. Well, it's tasty though. The noodles are thick. It also comes with a perforated ladle, so you can scoop up the small garlic chives and diced meat. The chashu? I thought it was the meat from the meat soba, so it's disappointing. The garlic-filled dumplings are small and easy to eat. I used a coupon, so it was about 300 yen cheaper. Thank you for the meal.

Tokyo, Kodaira City. Along the Fuchu Street. Near Tsuda University. I entered during lunchtime. On weekdays, there were many customers including families with children and office workers eating. It seems to be popular. It's been a while, maybe about 6 years. I ordered the regular meat soba and gyoza. I used the discount coupons from the flyer, getting 100 yen off the ramen and the gyoza for 80 yen instead of 280 yen. The dishes arrived. It's been a while, so I wondered if the noodles were always this thin. But once I mixed in the yuzu daikon, the taste was amazing! I immediately dug in. I enjoyed changing the flavor with garlic chips, thick sauce, and chili oil. The gyoza had garlic in it and was a bit small but delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today I had the day off, so I visited my mother-in-law in Kodaira. Oh, I remembered Marugen was here. I used to visit it often when I was on a business trip in Okayama. It's not the taste of a famous ramen shop, and the atmosphere is more like a family restaurant, but it has a addictive taste. Today, I had the meat soba + teppan fried rice + gyoza set for ¥980. It had plenty of meat and grated daikon. With added fried garlic, it was a satisfying amount for lunch. It may be considered B-class, but it's delicious. Thank you for the meal! Time: 13:00-13:30.
