"Namba's bustling red-light district, Soemon-cho Street, has been a popular spot for 'Okonomiyaki Dan' for years, but the restaurant has recently relocated due to building renovations. I only discovered 'Dan' a few years ago, but it has quickly become my top recommendation for Osaka business trips when someone asks, 'What should we eat?' The fluffy texture of their okonomiyaki is unmatched, and it's one of the few places left in Osaka where you can enjoy such quality. This was my first visit to their new location, and I ordered their Okonomiyaki Special (2130 yen), Pork, Shrimp, and Egg Okonomiyaki (1200 yen), Tianjin-style Omusoba (1440 yen), Dan-yaki (Tonpeiyaki), and Butter-Grilled Oysters (1200 yen), along with plenty of drinks. Everything was delicious, and I was so engrossed in the meal that I forgot to take photos. I miss being able to watch them swiftly mix the batter and ingredients at the open kitchen, but the new store is clean and more inviting, making it easier to bring clients, including women. We were able to walk in without a reservation on Friday at 11:00 PM and were seated immediately. As more customers arrived, we realized that reservations were necessary. The owner herself cooks the food, ensuring that every dish is delicious and satisfying. We ordered the Okonomiyaki with large shrimp and green onions as toppings. The fluffy texture of the batter was amazing, and the large shrimp had a rich flavor. We also tried the grilled octopus as a light snack, which was perfect for a second stop on our night out. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Thank you for the meal! (As of August 2023, the restaurant has a rating of 3.54 on Tabelog.)

I've been wanting to revisit this place. - Half portion of grilled salted chicken - Pork okonomiyaki with egg topping - Bottle of beer The grilled salted chicken was small but delicious, crispy on the outside. The pork okonomiyaki was gooey and flavorful, with a delicious dough. The pork itself didn't stand out much. I kept thinking "so tasty" from start to finish. I want to try other menu items as well. The fluffy batter was as light as a pancake! I visited a popular okonomiyaki restaurant in Namba, Osaka for the first time! I made a reservation by phone for Saturday at 5pm and visited at 6pm. The seats were full and they were not accepting walk-ins after me! The restaurant is located in the heart of Minami and has a lively atmosphere! I ordered the Butatama and the batter was as fluffy as a pancake! It was delicious! The shredded cabbage was so finely cut that it had almost no texture, resulting in a very soft okonomiyaki.

Sometimes it can be overcooked and dry, but today's was just right ◎ (ᗒᗨᗕ) Delicious! The okonomiyaki has a rich flavor with a strong dashi taste. The sweet sauce balances out the savory flavors. The thin, fluffy texture with a crispy bottom from the hot griddle was perfect. I devoured it all in one go (^O^)❒’’ The thick, flavorful dough and disregard for texture and salt restrictions are the signature of "Dan"さん's dishes. I made sure to stay hydrated while enjoying the meal (≧◡≦) Next time, I think I'll try the "Western-style Okonomiyaki" that caught my eye. It seemed to have a nice aroma, like a green onion pancake.

The restaurant is very popular, always crowded with people waiting. Luckily, we were able to get in! The a la carte menu was quite delicious, but above all, the okonomiyaki was amazing. Despite the long wait, this is definitely a place I will come back to!

Negiyaki or okonomiyaki? Can't decide? Head to this restaurant in Soemon-cho. Located on the 3rd floor of a building, this place is not one you just stumble into. Only those in the know come here. I ordered the Pork and Shrimp Okonomiyaki with Egg, but what came out was just the Shrimp and Egg version. They got my order wrong... I also asked for a beer when the food was ready, but it came out immediately. The okonomiyaki was on the smaller side, but surprisingly soft when you put your fork in. It was more gooey than fluffy, closer to a sticky texture. But the taste of the batter was exceptional. It had a rich flavor, maybe from a strong broth. The cabbage was present but melted in your mouth, so smooth. The shrimp wasn't as big as advertised, but it was nicely white. I imagine it would have been even more delicious with pork on top. A pork-less okonomiyaki just doesn't cut it for me. It's like a coffee without cream. Well, without adding cream, that is. I thought about ordering more, but we ran out of beer, so it was time to call it a meal. This was one of the most delicious okonomiyaki I've had. I'll definitely come back soon. And next time, I'm getting it with pork for sure!

I am from Kansai and I don't usually eat flour-based dishes when I'm out, but suddenly felt like having some and went. I had squid legs, "bakudan" (a menu item), and pork innards. They were all very delicious. The sauce in particular was excellent. It wasn't too sour or sweet, but a rich sauce that everyone loves. I would like to go again.

A highly rated okonomiyaki restaurant in Namba. I visited for the first time on a weekday night. I made a reservation by phone for 8:00 PM. The restaurant has both counter and table seating, and is of medium size. - Grilled squid with salt (460 yen): Goes well with ponzu sauce. - Grilled chicken with salt (half portion, 580 yen): Perfect amount of salt, with the sweetness of the skin-on chicken. - Salad (400 yen): Fruity cherry tomatoes. - Butatama (850 yen): I added extra for a larger size. The batter and cabbage are mixed well and cooked thoroughly. When cut, it was surprisingly soft. The cabbage is finely chopped. Possibly the softest batter I've ever had. - Oolong tea (230 yen) - Small bottle of black beer (460 yen) It was very delicious. The okonomiyaki had an extremely soft batter.

So, I decided to visit "Dan" in Munechika-machi. The entrance is right by the elevator, so there's usually not much of a line, making it easy to get a table quickly, especially for small groups. The menu at "Dan" has become more consistent over time, ensuring a consistently delicious experience. I ordered the "Fluffy and juicy chicken thigh with salt (half)" with a garlic butter flavor today. The combination of garlic and butter creates a powerful aroma, but the garlic is not overpowering, which is perfect. My go-to okonomiyaki at "Dan" is the "Pork and large shrimp mix." I choose the large shrimp for its rich flavor, adding a unique touch to the dish. I could have ordered another dish, but there were people waiting for a table, so I'll save it for next time.

This restaurant is located in a building near Glico in Dotonbori. I had okonomiyaki and modanyaki, and the okonomiyaki was delicious while the modanyaki was a bit salty. I heard that their tonpeiyaki is famous, so I'll try it next time. We had to eat quickly this time because it was late, but next time I want to relax and enjoy various dishes while drinking. Actually, we wanted to go to "Mizuno" nearby, but the last order was already over, so we ended up here. It's also a popular place, and we had to wait for about 40 minutes. It seems like you can make a reservation, so I think it's better to reserve in advance.

When it comes to Osaka, we visited to eat okonomiyaki! The style was where the staff made the okonomiyaki for us to eat. We didn't make it ourselves. The freshly made okonomiyaki was served and placed on the teppan in front of us, so we could eat it while it was still warm!

A hidden gem on the 3rd floor of a mixed-use building in Namba. I tried the pork and cheese okonomiyaki. The okonomiyaki was a bit small, so adults might want to go for the double size for an extra 400 yen. It was fluffy and had a melt-in-your-mouth texture. There was plenty of cheese on top, but it didn't feel greasy when combined with the okonomiyaki. I finished it in no time.

I came to Osaka and decided to try okonomiyaki, so I wandered around the Dotonbori area. Despite it being a weekday, the streets were crowded with people, and all the popular restaurants had long lines outside. I decided to avoid the crowds and found a place called "Den" down a side street. The staff ranged from tough-looking guys to seasoned older gentlemen, and the customers included families, solo diners, and even visitors from overseas. It was a wonderfully diverse and charming place. I ordered the "Negi Buta Okonomiyaki" and a small beer. As I sipped my beer and read a book, the okonomiyaki was brought to the hot plate in front of me. It looked simple, but when I dug in with my spatula, it was incredibly fluffy and gooey! The texture was amazing and it paired perfectly with the rich and deep flavor of the sauce. It wasn't just a generic sauce-covered taste, it truly tasted like a top-notch restaurant. I later found out that this place had been selected as one of the top 100 restaurants before relocating. The price was reasonable, the atmosphere was great - if you're in Osaka, you should definitely check this place out!

I visited the restaurant for the second time to confirm if the "tori shio" was really as tender and juicy as before. The grilled "tori shio" was indeed cooked perfectly, so tender and juicy that it was surprising. This time, I also ordered the "tonpei yaki," which was interesting as the shape of the pork varied depending on the restaurant. This "tonpei yaki" had pork belly with little fat wrapped in egg, a type I had never seen before. The okonomiyaki was not too big and fluffy, so even with two side dishes, one piece was gone in no time.

To Dan's for the first time. The restaurant on the 3rd floor of Soemon-cho building was full and the grill chef was working hard. Ordered the squid pork okonomiyaki. The hot okonomiyaki served on the hot plate had a fluffy texture, but with a rich taste thanks to the flavorful dashi in the batter! The encounter with the well-balanced fish, consomme, and Japanese dashi in the batter brought intense happiness. The cabbage and ingredients were also delicious and firm, not losing to the batter. I regret not visiting Dan's sooner. The okonomiyaki in Namba is hot! Because it's served on a hot plate, the batter against the plate becomes crispy like a cookie with each bite, even more delicious. The "tori shio" ordered as a side dish was also impressively cooked! The moment I put it in my mouth, it was so tender and moist that I thought it was raw chicken sashimi, yet it was cooked perfectly. They really pay attention to detail! How many times a week do I need to eat okonomiyaki to be satisfied? What a wonderful encounter, today is truly a happy day.

After confirming that sauce, mayonnaise, and mustard were okay, I ordered the Butatama okonomiyaki. It arrived on the teppan in about 10 minutes, where it was cut into small pieces using a spatula. Upon taking a bite, I could taste the dashi broth before the sauce, mayonnaise, and mustard, and the texture was fluffy. It was so delicious that I felt like I could eat as many as I wanted. The recommended dish, Dan-yaki (tonpeiyaki), was ordered next and arrived plated instead of on the teppan after about 8 minutes. The cut layers of thick pork belly were visible, and when I bit into it, the meatiness along with the sweetness of the pork, egg, sauce, mayonnaise, and chopped pickled ginger harmonized beautifully, creating a truly delicious dish. The yakisoba was ordered next and arrived in about 10 minutes. It seemed to use steamed noodles, which gave it a unique texture. Similar to the okonomiyaki, the yakisoba had a gentle flavor with a hint of dashi, making it a very elegant dish. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a restaurant that I have liked since my days in Suo Town. It had been a long time since I last visited. This was my first time visiting since they moved to Soemoncho. The delicious taste remains unchanged. The sizes seem a bit smaller overall. The balance with beer is just right. The master has gotten some white hair, but he is still kind and his way of talking hasn't changed, which makes me happy.
