In Tokyo, there is a sushi restaurant located in Nezu called "Sushi Kajiwara". It is tucked away in a quiet residential area and when you enter the narrow alley, you will see it. The restaurant has implemented thorough infection control measures. They offer a lunch omakase set of ten pieces for 3,000 yen which is very reasonable. The sea bream has a strong umami and sweetness, with a hint of elegance and a fragrant aroma. The sushi rice has a subtle saltiness and a rich depth of flavor, with a satisfying melt-in-your-mouth texture. The shrimp has a small size but showcases a sweet flavor with a hint of aroma. The bonito has a refreshing acidity, and the addition of green onions adds a touch of familiarity. The gunkan sushi with whitebait has a slight bitterness with a rich taste. The golden eye snapper has a fragrant hint of fat. The sardine is tender and has a strong aroma. The green onions help balance out the richness. There are more delightful dishes to follow, such as mackerel with a rich and aromatic fat, and a refreshing red tuna with acidity. The soup dish includes eel that melts in your mouth with a rich flavor. The tamago (sweet omelette) is also delicious. It's a great value for lunch.

This is a shop standing on a side street off Shinobazu Street. The omakase course with 10 pieces of sushi and a soup is 3,000 yen. The tuna, bonito, and eel were particularly memorable. I visited during the daytime on a weekday, and there were many regular customers enjoying sake. Thank you for the meal!

The omakase lunch for 3000 yen was amazing. The red snapper, squid, bonito, baby firefly squid, lean bluefin tuna, and sardines were all delicious. According to the book "Sushi, Eel, Tempura" by Hayashi Osamu, these ingredients are in season in spring. I had high expectations when visiting this restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it exceeded them by far. The quality was exceptional, and the value for money was incredible. Despite being a hidden gem, I was able to make a reservation four days in advance, but the restaurant was fully booked.

Authentic sushi at a great price. The chef does a fantastic job. They don't use expensive ingredients like sea urchin, salmon roe, or bluefin tuna, but instead prepare delicious ingredients with care. The yellowfin tuna, in particular, was just as delicious as bluefin tuna and really opened my eyes. It's hard to find a place with this quality at this price. The lunch omakase for 3,000 yen included flounder, bonito, white fish, golden eye snapper, small sardines, yellowtail, eel, miso soup, and egg.

This is a revisit to "Sushi Kajiwara" in Nedu for lunch. They only offer an omakase sushi set for 3,000 yen. The chef quickly serves the sushi pieces. I didn't drink alcohol, so I stayed for about 40 minutes. It's quite a good deal for a sushi lunch. Since it was a weekday lunch, there were plenty of seats available. The sushi had a slightly strong vinegar flavor, which was delicious, but today it seemed like the overall taste was a bit salty. I'd like to come back for dinner next time. Thank you for the meal.

I made a phone reservation at a popular restaurant in Moto-Azabu. I was able to secure a reservation for about a week later. It's a small restaurant with a counter and operated by one person. Payment is cash only. Although it was listed as part of the Bunkyo Ward campaign, they don't accept PayPay, so be cautious. The lunch set was 3000 yen, including 9 pieces of sushi, egg, and soup. The flounder, mackerel, and beltfish were delicious. The rice was small in size, probably the smallest I've had. It had a strong vinegar taste at first, but it seemed to change halfway through. I wanted to ask if it was because of the seasoning on the fish, but the staff spoke softly and minimally, so I missed the chance. The regular customers seemed to be treated better, but I didn't feel like staying long. Although I felt a bit unsatisfied with the portion, I left without ordering more. When I mentioned that they were listed as accepting PayPay, the staff just said, "Is that so?" and didn't offer any explanation. The phone response and service during my visit left a bad impression. I had a feeling about it from the phone call, and it turned out to be true. The tone of voice on the phone can reveal a lot about the service you can expect. It reminded me of another small Italian restaurant I had been to before. It was just one of those unlucky days, as even my favorite bakery was closed unexpectedly.

I was introduced to "Sushi Kajiwara" by a local priest as a sushi restaurant that is hard to get into without a reservation. I made a reservation while on a work trip in Tokyo and visited for the first time. The area around Yanaka and Nedu still retains an old-fashioned atmosphere, making it a rare find in Tokyo. The restaurant, located down a back alley off Funegawa Street, has a modern interior with 12 seats (used in groups of 4). I ordered the Chef's Choice Nigiri for 3000 yen, with 2 additional pieces, Tono To, and Tsuki no Katsura for a total of 5900 yen. The sushi included snapper, squid, bonito with scallions and ginger, white fish with quail egg, squid, horse mackerel, bonito with scallions and ginger, seared golden eye, lean tuna, conger eel, quail egg, medium fatty tuna, and small skin soup. Initially, I tried to make a reservation for one person but was rejected, so I had to find another person to accompany me. I wondered if insisting on dining alone for three people would work next time. Dining alone seems safer and more reassuring than dining with a large group, but the reason for the rejection was unclear. The sushi had a core of vinegar (a very small amount of red vinegar perhaps) in the well-balanced shari with Edo-style craftsmanship in small, delicate pieces. The sushi was top-notch.

A small sushi restaurant with around 10 counter seats. For 3000 yen including tax, you can enjoy 9 pieces of nigiri sushi, tamago, and miso soup. The sushi pieces are small, about the size of a thumbnail, so the portion size is quite small. Today, I wasn't very hungry, so it was enough for me, but on a regular day, it might not be filling. However, for 3000 yen, it's a convenient and casual sushi lunch option for locals. I wish I lived closer to a place like this. The weather and temperature were nice, making it a very pleasant lunch experience.

I visited this place for the third time, having been there once during the day and once at night. The atmosphere is still calm and you can enjoy delicious sushi. The alcohol is also good, and the owner is very nice, so I think you will have a good time. The vinegar is a little mild, the rice-to-fish ratio is low, and the sushi is small in size. It is easy to eat, so I think it is good for women as well.

I couldn't resist the temptation of sushi from all directions and begged, "I want to eat Edo-style sushi without dipping it in soy sauce! Take me there!" during lunchtime. "18:00! Kajiwara! Meet me there!" Even though it was my first time going to that restaurant, I forgave the rough invitation because I was so happy. The sushi was very delicious, true Edo-style! However, I'm used to Matsumoto Sushi's generous portions, so I felt like the amount was a bit lacking for me. But my partner was satisfied. What surprised me was that the chef was working alone! From making the sushi to serving the dishes, tea, and handling the bill. The taste was great, but somehow I felt like the restaurant lacked the lively atmosphere I was hoping for in a sushi place, it felt more dark than quiet. It's a shame even though it's delicious!

About a year ago, I visited this place twice but couldn't quite tell if the sushi was good or not, so I left feeling unsure. I decided to give it another try for lunch, and this time, my taste buds seemed to adjust to the flavors, and I really enjoyed it. I added a few extra pieces and had a beer, and the total came out to around 5000 yen. I wonder how much the omakase would cost... it's a mystery. This place probably focuses more on the rice, with smaller pieces of fish. Whether you like this style of rice or not might determine how you feel about the sushi here. A year ago, I was confused by the sourness, but now I can appreciate it. The rice is firm and each grain stands out in your mouth. The balance between the rice and the fish is quite strong, with the fish being well-aged to bring out its umami flavor. Some fish may confuse your brain with their lack of fat, but others with more fat are universally delicious. The sardine was particularly good, with a nice oily flavor. The marinated fish and squid were also delightful, with complex flavors that were a pleasant surprise. The highlight for me was the scallop, which was both complex and delicious. As I continued eating, my taste buds adjusted and everything just kept getting better. Sushi is truly the best!

The lunch was great, so I revisited at night. First of all, I think the cost performance is excellent. It seems that they are very particular about their ingredients and offer them at a very reasonable price. I searched around Nezu area but couldn't find many good sushi restaurants, so I think this place is the best option right now. If they pay attention to presentation, vinegar seasoning, and expand their sake selection, they have even more potential to excel.

The omakase (chef's choice) meal included shirako (milt), grilled flounder, and a variety of other high-quality seafood such as flounder, squid, yellowtail, whitefish, mackerel, botan shrimp, sea urchin, tuna, ark shell, eel, and egg custard. I also added a toro (fatty tuna) roll and received a himokyu (cucumber wrapped in dried gourd strip) as a complimentary dish. The total cost, including one beer, was 18,800 yen. The ingredients were top-notch, but the flavors were a bit intense. It might be a good idea to ask for less soy sauce. However, the menu seems to follow a similar pattern each time, so it's starting to feel a bit repetitive.

Visited for lunch. I had the pleasure of dining with the lovely Mairevi-sama, who had just returned from a trip. I was looking forward to meeting you. The lunch set was 10,300 yen from October. The sashimi included kelp-marinated amberjack, striped shrimp, whitefish, and squid with yuzu pepper. There was also saury, red tuna, gizzard shad, and tamago (egg) sushi, as well as miso soup. The squid sushi had a great combination of squid umami and the sharp spiciness of yuzu pepper. This year, we were lucky to have saury, which is rare due to poor fishing conditions. The gentle vinegar-marinated gizzard shad was also delicious. The eel had a slightly muddy taste. The conversation was enjoyable, and the time passed quickly. I am looking forward to meeting you again next time. Thank you very much for letting me join you.

In the summer, Sakura took me to a lovely French restaurant for a meal. As we were leaving, she asked me where I would like to go next. I casually mentioned that sushi might be nice when it cools down. Surprisingly, when autumn arrived, she actually remembered and invited me out. She even researched and provided me with three sushi restaurant options to choose from. I selected Kajiwara Sushi for our outing, and it turned out to be a fantastic day. The restaurant is located in Nezu and has a cozy atmosphere with only 10 counter seats. The lunch course was reasonably priced at 3000 yen, and the sushi was delicious and elegantly presented. We had a great time chatting and enjoying the meal. After saying our goodbyes, Sakura went to another restaurant, and I headed to a cafe I wanted to visit in Nezu. It was a delightful experience, and I would love to visit Kajiwara Sushi again if it were closer.

Today's lunch was at Kajiwara-san. It was my first time visiting for lunch. I ordered the chef's choice and added three extra pieces of sushi because the portion was a bit small, totaling 4100 yen. The meal was mainly sushi, but the quality was on par with dinner!! I enjoyed delicious food at a reasonable price. Thank you for the meal.

I went to this restaurant with my sushi master after a long time. I asked for a course centered around nigiri sushi. The first nigiri that came out, the hoshigarei, was so good that I was worried if it was okay to start with something this amazing! The chutoro was also excellent. The quality at this price point is truly outstanding as always. I enjoyed the meal very much. Thank you for the feast.

At a sushi restaurant in Konan, the reservation was from 19:00, but the restaurant closes at 21:00, so the latest start was at 19:00. I had the omakase nigiri. The sushi chefs, two of them, worked silently. I had some sushi and drank about 2 cups of sake, and it was around 10,000 yen. The lunch reviews seem to be quite good, but isn't the cost performance quite high even at night? The meal included whelk, squid legs, ark shell, bonito, conger eel, squid, sardine, sweet shrimp, sea urchin, natural tuna, and eel.

Lunchtime sushi omakase. Small-sized sushi, perfect for drinking. Mainly white fish and blue fish, with good quality toppings. Two of us had beer and 0.7L of sake, very cheap! The weather was nice, perfect for a leisurely stroll from Yanaka to Ueno. A great holiday. Will visit again. Stroll around Yanaka, Nezu, and Sendagi.

Today, I went to eat sushi with the Iron Chef of Food at a restaurant we both love, "Kajiwara." We ordered the chef's choice nigiri course. The dishes that came out were as follows: appetizer, squid nigiri, bonito nigiri, ark shell nigiri, button shrimp nigiri, medium fatty tuna nigiri, gizzard shad nigiri, conger eel nigiri, tamago (sweet egg omelette), miso soup. Additionally, bonito nigiri and squid nigiri were added. Isn't it amazing to have a nigiri course that doesn't include any lower-quality fish at this price range? Every piece of nigiri was fantastic with excellent ingredients. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Today, two of us enjoyed sushi time at the renowned restaurant Kajiwara in Sendagi for the third time. We ordered the nigiri course, which included the following: smelt, flounder, squid, amberjack, sweet shrimp, salmon roe, sea eel, egg omelette, miso soup, and an additional serving of amberjack. We each had a beer as well. The quality of the ingredients was exceptional, with the amberjack and sea eel standing out in particular. The amberjack had a rich fatty flavor similar to fatty tuna, while the sea eel had a delightful aftertaste. It's hard to find a sushi restaurant of this quality for less than 10,000 yen! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal today. Thank you for the delicious food.
