ハラミ串
[Overall Impression]
Located about a 3-minute walk from Nezu Station, this famous Sanuki udon shop in Nezu that supported the early days of Sanuki udon in Tokyo has happily reopened (^_^). It used to be near Nezu Shrine, but the new location is towards Yanaka. The delicious udon and the modern Japanese atmosphere are still as wonderful as ever. The udon, with its stretch and shine, has a taste that somehow feels gentle. I had it after a long time, and the deliciousness is still outstanding. It seems like the menu has been narrowed down compared to before the relocation, but the skills of this famous shop are still being displayed excellently.
[Additional Comments]
I knew that the famous Sanuki udon shop Ne no Tsu was moving, but it took a while for it to reopen (^_^;). Despite having a signboard at the new location, there was no sign of it being open. I waited eagerly for quite a long time. And then, after waiting for over 2 years, I think, I had almost given up, but recently it seems to have finally reopened! The shop is about a 3-minute walk uphill from Nezu Station towards Yanaka. It has a Japanese-modern feel, renovated from a single-family house. The interior has a counter with 4 seats and tables for 10 people. The wooden interior with subtle lighting and quiet guitar music in the background (^_^). There were probably about 3 staff members. I arrived right at the opening time on a holiday, but it quickly became full. It's still as popular as ever. The menu includes cold and hot Bukkake, Zaru, Nama Shoyu, Curry Udon, and a unique meat tsukemen. I remember they used to have Kamatama as well, but it seems they don't do it now. I used to love the Kamatama Mentaiko Butter, so I'm a bit disappointed (^_^;). Toppings mainly consist of tempura. There was also the popular fried mochi from before. I like that one. I'm curious about the new menu item, the meat tsukemen, so I chose that this time. It feels like Musashino Udon? Exciting. They don't seem to serve side dishes during lunch, but they do have alcohol. Let's also have a Kakuhai Highball (450 yen) (^_^). - Meat Tsukemen 900 yen - Fried mochi 220 yen In a warm dipping sauce, there's plenty of pork belly, thick fried tofu, eggplant, and Mitsuba. The udon is slightly thick with a smooth texture and no sharp edges. First, the udon. When you slurp it, it's smooth and extremely silky. The pleasant elasticity and the refreshing feeling as it goes down your throat are irresistible. And the pork belly in the dipping sauce is quite amazing. What is this pork belly?! The fatty part is sweet and melts in your mouth smoothly. The broth is delicious, and the slight bitterness of the Mitsuba is also nice. Dipping the fried mochi in the meat dipping sauce and eating it is an excellent idea. Udon goes perfectly with fried foods and pork, but this pork belly and fried mochi are truly the best combination (^_^).
[Final Thoughts]
I was worried because it took a while to reopen, but it was all needless concern. In fact, it might be even better than before (^_^). The udon itself is incredibly delicious, and the balance of the broth and the quality of the fried foods are also very high. This is a top-notch shop with no weaknesses in any aspect. Today's bill came to a total of 1570 yen. Thank you for the meal.
