⭐️A classy bar surrounded by wood! Sinatra's music is softly playing in the background, perfectly matching the classical atmosphere. The bartender has been in Ginza for 18 years, showcasing solid skills and a friendly demeanor. Despite the membership sign on the door, we were able to enter without issue. Feel free to convey your preferences, such as strong or light, fresh, when ordering. [Order Details] Total: 7,300 yen ●Bellini - Easy to drink with a fresh peach taste! ●Original Cocktail - Possibly lychee? Lime? The hidden base made it quite delicious. ●XYZ - A rum-based drink with a balance of sourness and sweetness, a must-order favorite! Delicious options here! ●Salty Dog - Vodka-based with freshly squeezed grapefruit, saltiness detected on the rim of the glass at two points, each offering a different flavor. ●Charm - A diverse set of drinks! [Access] 570-88 Gionmachi Minamigawa, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Gionmachi Minamigawa Building 1F ☎️075-525-6205 It seems like the bar culture thrives in this area. While Kyoto boasts many charming bars, this one is particularly recommended. Despite complaints about phone service, the in-person experience showcased knowledgeable and courteous service. Enjoy your bar life, everyone (^^)!

During the summer vacation, we traveled by car from Kobe to Awaji Island, Takamatsu, Kurashiki, Himeji, Takarazuka, and finally arrived in Kyoto on the last day. For dinner, we had okonomiyaki and found a bar called TALISKER nearby with a high rating of 4.02 on Tabelog, so we decided to visit. We started with the highly recommended Salty Dog, which was incredibly delicious! Then, we ordered the Campari soda recommended by the bartender, and it was also delicious. I usually don't drink sweet cocktail-type drinks, but I enjoy them at bars. Feeling tired from the long journey, we only had two drinks and left, but it was a bar we would like to visit again.

I visited this highly-rated place for the second drink of the night in Kyoto. Despite the sign on the door saying "members only," I boldly entered to find around 10 counter seats and one table seat in the back. When I asked for a recommendation, I was told their specialty was the Gin and Tonic, so I ordered one. I can't remember how it was made, but it was so delicious that I can't forget it. I definitely want to visit this place again for a second drink in Kyoto at night.

I had a gin buck, a gin and tonic, and whiskey. One thing they all have in common is that you can enjoy the aroma in your mouth for a long time. I think it's a good place to quietly savor delicate flavors. Next time, I would like to listen to something other than classical music.

Located a 5-minute walk from Gion-Shijo Station, "BAR TALISKER" - this time, I ordered a la carte after taking my seat. The items I ordered (☆ indicates particularly liked menu items): ☆ Gin and Tonic ☆ Sidecar ☆ Negroni ☆ XYZ The Gin and Tonic was refreshing with a hint of mint and a soft finish. A well-known drink here. The Sidecar was gently sweet, surprisingly easy to drink for a short cocktail. I felt the same about XYZ. I always order a Negroni here. It seems like if you order Campari, they often serve it with soda here... haha. It was a beautiful ice and a top-notch Negroni that I haven't had in a while. It seems they also cater to non-alcoholic options. Even when ordering just one whiskey, they provide a style that suits the whiskey perfectly. This place is sure to appeal to those who get hooked. I was nervous at first, but the staff was very kind and passionate. The person running the place alone escorted me outside when I left, such a lovely gesture. I learned a lot. ------ Helpful Memo ------ ※ At the time of visit ☆ Discovering the restaurant through social media ① Seating available at the counter and on sofas ② It is recommended to do some research before your first visit. ---------------------------

Despite the heavy rain, I finally made my long-awaited visit during the consecutive holidays. Since it was early, I had the place to myself to start. Uchida-san was full of talk and had an impressive knowledge of alcohol. The back bar had depth with two rows of spirits, giving off a sophisticated vibe. He made my favorite cocktails one after another, showing his dedication by using gin at room temperature and two different types. The Martini had a gentle yet rich flavor that evolved over time. Even my beloved Negroni was exceptionally delicious, perhaps due to his technique in bringing out the bitterness. The highlight was the Campari Soda, made with ice-cold Campari mixed with rich soda, creating the best Campari I've ever had. I was grateful to have encountered such a wonderful bar tonight.

I was introduced by an acquaintance's sister and visited for the first time five days ago. I left without taking any pictures, and now I'm left with vague memories of getting drunk. Frustrated, I came back for revenge. This time, I ordered cocktails! Starting with frozen drinks and refreshing ones. For the second round, I tried the Shanghai, which my sister loves. There are also non-alcoholic cocktails in the picture. My companion doesn't drink much. It was delicious. I'll definitely visit again!

It's been a while since I visited Tarisukasan at Wakuden♪ I came to see the playful Mr. Uchida. I tried the Dewar's Highball, said to be the origin of the highball, without ice. It's nicely chilled even without ice, and there's no ice hitting your mouth. The size is just right, allowing you to enjoy it until the end. It's my first time trying it, but I think I'm hooked.

I think people have different reasons for going to a bar. Some go for drinks, while others go for different reasons. This place has good drinks, enjoyable conversations with the master, and most importantly, classic records playing in the background. It's a great place to quietly enjoy your time. The wide selection of malts and the master's knowledge make this bar exceptional and worth visiting. Cash only.

This restaurant is located about a 10-minute walk from Gion-Shijo Station. It is famous as one of the top authentic bars in the Gion area. I happened to pass by around 7:30 pm on a weekday, so I decided to stop by. Although the entrance states it is a members-only establishment, they allowed me to enter when I inquired. Mr. Uchida had been running a bar in Ginza for 18 years before relocating to Gion. It is said that customers come from all over the country seeking Mr. Uchida's overwhelming knowledge and unique bottle selection. Since I was there, I decided to try the Talisker, which is the same as the name of the bar. The charm was simply nuts and the like. You can spend a very relaxing time in the quiet atmosphere with music playing in the background. It's a place I'd like to visit with regulars. I would like to revisit if I have the chance.

I visited the restaurant with high expectations due to the good reviews, as it is run by a top-class bartender who has been operating an authentic bar in Ginza for nearly 20 years. The cocktails, such as the Salty Dog and the kinkan fruit cocktail, were delicious, and the selection of spirits, including gin and martini, was impressive. The whiskey options were abundant, with some rare finds, and the taste of the drinks was exceptional, among the best I've ever had. The attention to detail and knowledge were genuine. However, I was taken aback by the surprisingly condescending service. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, and I have never felt the urge to leave a bar so quickly before. Upon entering, the regular customers were loudly laughing and banging the counter, but once they left, the staff's attitude towards all other customers was consistently cold and even rude, with a tendency to interrupt conversations with boastful stories. It was truly disappointing considering how delicious the drinks were...

If you're drinking in Gion, Kyoto, make sure to end your night here. I ordered as usual. First drink was a gin and tonic. Second drink was a French Connection. Everyone sitting at the counter was talking about Hiroshima today. The choice of music was extraordinary as always, and I slightly resent the fact that the last train is earlier now... Thank you as always.

After enjoying a meal at my favorite Sakuragawa-san (which was delicious as always this month), I went to Bar Tarisca with some old friends who came from Tokyo. The interior of the bar was meticulously designed, with old bottles lining the shelves. We chatted with the bartender about our shared love for bars, starting with recommended shots of rum and moving on to Martinis. The Martini was a masterpiece that deepened in flavor the more you sipped it slowly. We ended the night by ordering a Stinger. Before we could even ask, we were surprised by the bartender's question, "We stir, not shake here, is that alright with you?" Even though we usually request stirred, this bar didn't need to ask⁉︎ The Stinger was a delight in terms of aroma, flavor, and aftertaste. We all returned to the hotel feeling happy after a wonderful night in Kyoto.

◆Visit Information on Tabelog: Rated 3.84, ranked 3rd out of 100 top bars in Kyoto in 2022, this authentic bar offers a serene atmosphere. It is recommended to visit with two or more people! ◆About the Restaurant: This bar was originally in Ginza for about 20 years and has now opened in Kyoto with the same interior. The owner is said to be a genius in the world of alcohol and can talk endlessly about it. *They seem to only offer dried snacks. ◆Impressions: The entrance had a sign saying it's a members-only establishment, but we managed to get in as walk-ins. *Reservations by phone are not accepted. True to its name of an authentic bar, very quiet music plays, creating an incredibly soothing atmosphere. When I ordered a Moscow Mule, I was told they have variations from 1 to 4, so I tried the No. 1. The place was lively with regular customers, and the owner was very friendly and engaging. They may seem reserved at first glance, but I had a great time just listening to the conversations that day. ◆Food and Drink Costs: There is a cover charge of 500 yen until 9 p.m., and 1,000 yen after 9 p.m. The total bill was 2,500 yen. ◆What We Had: ●Cover Charge ✔︎✔︎ ●Cheesecake ✔︎✔︎✔︎ ●Snacks ✔︎✔︎✔︎ Moscow Mule: Made with fresh ginger, this Moscow Mule had a powerful punch. It was delicious, and the drink was served in a copper cup, always kept ice-cold. ◆Notes: *The Michelin and Top 100 rankings may include information from the past. *Prices include tax. ⭐️Rating Criteria⭐️ 3 stars or less: Satisfied with one visit ⭐️3.5 stars: Decent recommendation (tasty) ⭐️4 stars: Highly recommended (very delicious, might revisit) ⭐️4.5 stars: Absolutely recommended (so amazing that I want to revisit) ⭐️5 stars: Absolutely, absolutely recommended (an absolute delight, 100% will revisit)

I visited around 21:30. We had a frozen cocktail with pineapple and yogurt using peach for Bellini, both were chef's choice. The appetizers were delicious dried fruits, chocolate, and cheesecake. The cheesecake was rich. The master seemed a bit strict but was very kind. He seemed busy running the place alone but came out at the end to greet us.

After dining at Hikoyasu, we visited our usual spot, Tariskar. We never make reservations here. Since it's run by just one person, I feel hesitant to call ahead, and it's more stylish to casually drop by our favorite bar without planning. The south side of Gion may have less foot traffic compared to the lively north side, which might explain why we always manage to get a table without any trouble. On this particular day, there was only one other customer. What I had (just me): a peach cocktail, a highball, and a daiquiri. The peach cocktail was made with vodka, cranberry as a hidden flavor, and fresh peaches of the season. It's quite strong, but the sweetness and aroma of the peach made it a refreshing drink. The highball was made with whiskey, with a unique twist. The daiquiri was Uchida-style, made with dark rum. We enjoyed delicious drinks and conversation tonight, and headed home slightly tipsy.

A renowned authentic bar that relocated from Ginza to Gion. The owner and bartender, Mr. Uchida, is considered a genius. He is full of humor and has a rich knowledge and passion for alcohol, which leads to engaging conversations. The bartenders themselves also frequent the bar in their free time. The bar gets quite crowded during peak hours, so it's recommended to sit at the counter right after opening or during late hours to have a leisurely chat with Mr. Uchida. The bar has a good audio system, so visiting during quieter hours is ideal. The speaker system is JBL4344, and the record collection is impressive. The expansive back bar with two rows offers a wide selection, particularly of single malt Scotch whiskies ranging from 25 to 40 years old. The cocktails are also excellent, with Moscow Mule, Manhattan, Martini, and Gimlet being highly recommended. There are four types of Moscow Mule, each with a unique concept, but starting with No.1 or No.2 is suggested for first-timers. The cocktails all share a dedication to high-quality base spirits, setting this bar apart with its rich flavors. For instance, they use a green bottle of Gordon's instead of the common yellow one. They blend regular Tanqueray with Tanqueray No.10 for certain cocktails and blend Rye with Canadian whiskey for making Manhattan, allowing the flavors to evolve over time. They are very particular about what cocktails to make and what bases to use, not serving White Lady, Mojito, or stocking Beefeater. Mr. Uchida's shaking technique is unique, ensuring air is incorporated. While there are table seats, as the bar is run by one person, it's best to visit in groups of 1 to 4. Although a membership sign has been recently put up, walk-ins are still welcome. Despite the formal appearance, the bar is not overly serious, as you can find Lupin III and Steve McQueen memorabilia around, reflecting Mr. Uchida's personality – approachable and humorous, making it an easy-going place to visit.

A well-known renowned restaurant. Operating in Ginza for 18 years, then reopened in Kyoto maintaining its interior design as much as possible. The interior features vintage lamps, thick beams evoking a sense of the era, a counter made of oak, and a view of a Kyoto garden from a small window at the back of the shop. Particularly eye-catching is the sound system visible over the counter, with a 4344 model from 1982, designed to evolve with a certain depth, creating a counter space that allows for both horizontal and vertical comfort. One of the specialties, the Moscow Mule, comes in 4 varieties, with No. 1 and No. 2 recommended for beginners. The classic No. 1 impresses with its refreshing and smooth taste, almost devoid of a strong alcohol presence. Attention to detail is evident in their cocktail selection as well. For example, they refuse to make a White Lady with the current Curacao as it doesn't match the original taste, offering an alternative cocktail instead. In addition to traditional cocktails like the Martini, they add playful twists based on customer preferences. Master Uchida is well-versed in a wide range of topics, making conversations with him stimulating. While many regulars likely visit in anticipation of this, he maintains a flat attitude, treating all customers with the same style, whether they are regulars or first-time visitors. Construction for the Imperial Hotel's outlet at the former Yayoi Kaikan building has begun in front of the shop. It is expected to prosper even more with the opening of the new outlet.
