I finished my work in Yaesu in the morning, so I had lunch at the popular standing soba shop "Kyobashi Megumiya" in Kyobashi for the first time in a while. It's a 2-minute walk from Kyobashi Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, located a little off the main street. The shop serves delicious soba that fills you up, and it's one of my favorite standing soba shops. I visited after about a year and a half, and currently they only serve lunch, not the evening menu focused on alcohol. They open at 11 am, and when I arrived around 11:15, the place was already quite crowded. The shop operates on a standing-eating style. There is no ticket machine, so you have to place your order verbally at the kitchen counter in the back of the shop. Previously, they had four types of soba - "Megumi Soba," "Dattan Soba," "Sarashina Soba," and "Inaka Soba" - all priced at 500 yen (tax included). However, the prices have been adjusted now - "Megumi Soba" is 500 yen, "Dattan Soba" and "Inaka Soba" are 550 yen, and the most popular Dattan Soba with black sesame mixed in is 650 yen. There is no more Sarashina Soba, instead, there is "Jifun Kiri (domestic 100%)" soba for 700 yen (tax included). The soba portion has increased compared to before. ・Small serving (150g ⇒ 200g) 100 yen off ・Regular serving (350g ⇒ 400g) 500 yen (tax included) - 700 yen (tax included) ・Large serving (550g ⇒ 600g) 150 yen extra ・Special serving (700g ⇒ 800g) 300 yen extra Toppings like grated radish, raw egg, tempura bits are +50 yen, simmered egg, natto, chopped seaweed are +100 yen, and grated yam is +150 yen. You can choose from four dipping sauces. The basic sauce and the rich mackerel broth are the same price, but the special green onion oil-infused ethnic-style green onion soup (cold/hot) is +150 yen, and the spicy Ma-La sauce with Sichuan pepper and chili (hot) is +200 yen. I ordered the "Jifun Kiri" soba and added one Jomon Soba Inari as a topping. I waited for the soba to be ready while standing next to the kitchen counter. As expected from a standing soba shop, the soba was served in about a minute! I received the domestic 100% "Jifun Kiri" soba and the "Jomon Soba Inari." I chose the basic sauce made from bonito, mackerel, and shiitake mushrooms. The regular serving of 400g was quite filling, more than the usual large serving. They seem to use a push-out noodle-making machine, so you can enjoy freshly made and boiled soba. The medium-thick cut domestic 100% soba had a delightful soba flavor with a good chewy texture and smooth finish. I enjoyed the well-balanced sauce with a rich and sweet taste. I finished the soba in three sips. There is shichimi togarashi and ground sesame on the table. When I had eaten about half of the soba, I added plenty of ground sesame to the sauce for a change in flavor and finished it in one go. There is soba-yu (soba water) in a pot on the kitchen counter. I poured plenty of soba-yu into the remaining sauce and enjoyed the soba soup while eating the Jomon Soba Inari. The Jomon Soba Inari is an Inari sushi with white rice, ancient rice, and soba grains. It was delicious, and it's a must-have topping at this shop. It's also nice that it comes with pickled ginger. I appreciate that I can place my order verbally instead of using a ticket machine, especially as an older person. It's really reassuring to be able to order without worrying about making mistakes when there's a line behind you during lunchtime.

There is no way a restaurant that is cheap, allows you to eat a lot, is delicious, offers a variety of soba types and dipping sauces, and has a rock music theme wouldn't be thriving. It's the best. The interior is loved by rock fans. Customers keep coming in. There's even a spicy dipping sauce that adds a refreshing scent of Sichuan pepper.

I visited the restaurant around noon on a regular day. There were only 3 people in line, so I was seated quickly. I ordered the large serving of Negi soup, which was very generous with 600g of noodles. The noodles had a nice texture and there were plenty of green onions available for self-service. This place is perfect for lunch with great value for money at only 800 yen.

I ordered the Dattan soba (550 yen) with extra noodles (150 yen) and negi soup (150 yen) served cold. I chose Dattan soba because it is said to be good for the body. I chose negi soup because I wanted to have the soft-boiled egg that comes in the soup. I think you can only add a raw egg if you order negi soup, otherwise you can't have the soft-boiled egg. When it arrived, I sprinkled lots of ground sesame seeds on top of the Dattan soba and started eating. The negi soup was a bit thick, so depending on your preference, dipping the soba in the soup halfway might be just right. And the soft-boiled egg with the thick negi soup was irresistible. I finished everything. However, a 600g serving of soba in large size really fills you up. But it's still under 1,000 yen. Thank you for the meal.

I had been interested in this standing soba noodle shop for a while. It is only open for lunch on weekdays, so I couldn't visit easily. Luckily, I was able to visit this time. The shop was crowded with salarymen, but the turnover was good so I was able to get in quickly! The interior of the shop is small and a bit cramped, but since it's a standing style shop, I didn't mind the atmosphere and just came for the taste. I ordered the Inaka Soba (buckwheat noodles) small size for 550 yen (I was surprised by this price, it's really cheap haha). Wasabi and green onions are self-service. The Inaka Soba was really delicious, with a firm texture and a strong buckwheat flavor. It was the most delicious soba I have had recently haha. I highly recommend it if you just want to enjoy the taste of soba! You can't really take your time there!

Located just a 3-minute walk from Kyobashi Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, and a 3-minute walk from Ginza-itchome Station on the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line, this standing soba restaurant offers amazing value for money. The portions are generous, with the standard size being 400g. The menu features four main options: - Megumi Soba: 100% buckwheat soba, recommended for first-timers. - Dattan Soba: 100% buckwheat soba known for its blood-thinning and skin-beautifying effects. - Kurogoma Dattan Soba: Healthy soba with black sesame mixed in. - Inaka Soba: Wild, black, 100% buckwheat soba made from whole buckwheat grains. You can also choose from four types of dipping sauces: - Basic sauce: traditional soba dipping sauce. - Saba dashi: made only from mackerel flakes, with a rich flavor. - Negi soup: an ethnic-style soup with special negi oil. - Mala soup: a spicy soup with sansho pepper and chili. Only available hot. For first-timers, we recommend trying the Megumi Soba, which is priced at 500 yen for a 400g portion of pure soba noodles (zaru soba), offering exceptional value for the Ginza area. The soba dipping sauce, made from bonito, mackerel, and shiitake mushrooms, has a rich flavor that complements the noodles perfectly. The price and portion size are truly appreciated. Be sure to arrive before noon as the restaurant quickly gets crowded, with lines forming outside.

Today I had a large serving of Dattan soba and spicy hot pot. Before I started coming to this restaurant, they used to have something called "super spicy hot pot." I wish I could have tried it. Oh well, I'm making up for it by sprinkling lots of shichimi on my dish. There are Enoki mushrooms floating in the spicy hot pot, adding a hint of sweetness to the heat. Phew, I'm stuffed. Thanks for the meal!

It's so delicious that I go there twice a week. I usually go for the buckwheat soba and spicy miso combo, but today I tried the punchy mackerel broth with country-style soba. I added grated radish and fried tofu on the side. My favorite spot is the "one-person space" in the back left corner after you enter. It's a calm place to enjoy the soba. The combination of mackerel broth and grated radish might be the best. I'm already thinking about what to order next time. There's still so much to explore at Megumiya.

On the way from my home to the office in Hatchobori, there is this shop where I often stop by when I have telework in the morning and come to the office in the afternoon. I have tried all four types of buckwheat noodles (one of which is always sold out) and here are my thoughts... The "Megumi Soba" has thin, white noodles similar to Sengoku, with a great texture and goes well with a slightly thick broth. The "Inaka Soba" has thick, short noodles with a strong chewiness that pairs well with optional toppings like leek soup or spicy broth. The "Dattan Soba" has a greenish color and I see it as something in between the other two types. They offer small, regular, large, and extra-large sizes, and I always go for the extra-large which leaves me feeling very full. I think the extra-large was around 650 yen? You can also help yourself to as much leek as you want, and the cost performance is very good. It's perfect when you just want to enjoy simple and delicious soba noodles.

I found a wonderful restaurant. While waiting at a curry restaurant, I found this place on a website. They offer small portions, so I decided to try it out. It's really popular, with customers coming in one after another, but the turnover is fast. I ordered the Keisoba small portion for 400 yen and added grated daikon for 50 yen. I love green onions, so I asked for extra. There seems to be a variety of menu options, so I will definitely come back again.

I arrived 10 minutes before the store opened, but there were already 4 groups waiting. The shutter was raised on time, and we entered the store one by one to start ordering. I didn't know that you could choose the broth and type of soba, so I was a little late. The taste was not just your average standing-eating place, it was a level that would make you want to come back every day if it were nearby. Inside the store, there were rock music videos and record jackets displayed, and the owner is probably a hard rocker in his 50s, maybe a fan of Ritchie Blackmore? Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by Maruzen in Nihonbashi to buy books for work and decided to have lunch there. This was my third visit, so this time I ordered the regular portion of country-style soba. After a while, a plate of jet-black country-style soba was served. Despite its name, I couldn't help but feel grateful that all the nutrients of soba were included.

I entered the restaurant to eat soba made from 100% buckwheat flour. The staff at the counter informed me that they only had small portions available before I even mentioned it. I decided to order the small portion of buckwheat flour soba (500 yen) and changed the dipping sauce to mackerel broth (50 yen). I also added a raw egg topping. As I looked at the menu, I realized that if I ordered another dish, I could get the usual large portion of 500g. So, I ordered the regular portion of Dattan soba (500 yen). When the food arrived, I searched for a place to eat with two trays. I found a nice spot outside. I tried the soba with mackerel broth, and while the broth was delicious, it was quite salty as advertised. That's why I added the raw egg topping, which helped reduce the saltiness. The combination of raw egg and broth was a good choice. The soba made from buckwheat flour had a good texture, but I couldn't really taste the difference in flavor. I noticed that there were various types of soba mixed in, probably because they only have one boiling pot. Despite not being able to fully appreciate the flavor and aroma of the soba, I was satisfied with the portion size and quality for the price. As I left the restaurant, I thought to myself, "That was a satisfying meal." Thank you for the meal.

Even though it's a regular portion, the double serving is satisfying! It's recommended when you want to eat a lot of soba noodles. I visited during lunchtime. The location is about a 3-minute walk from Kyobashi Station on the Ginza subway line. There was almost no line today. When it's hot, you might crave for some refreshing soba noodles, so be aware that there might be around a 10-minute wait at times. I ordered the "Inaka Soba" in a regular serving. The best thing about this place is definitely the portion size. You can eat plenty of soba noodles. The "Inaka Soba" has a good texture and a nice aroma of soba. It's easy to see why it's popular. The dipping sauce is on the richer side. It has a solid umami flavor. There are several types of soba noodles available. It's recommended to visit early as they might sell out if you go later in the day. I enjoyed it very much!

Entered the restaurant at 13:55. It's my third day in a row here. I ordered the Dattan soba in large size (650 yen) with spicy broth (150 yen). It arrived in about 5 minutes. Oh, Dattan soba is slightly yellowish! I tried it with the spicy broth. It has a nice spicy kick, a bit sweet, and tastes delicious! The texture of the enoki mushrooms adds a nice touch too. The warmth of the spicy broth slightly affects the firmness of the soba compared to the cold regular dipping sauce, but it's still enjoyable and retains enough firmness. I enjoyed it while feeling the smoothness. I'm someone who can't really smell the aroma of soba, but as long as I find it delicious based on the broth and firmness, I'm satisfied. The soft-boiled egg in the spicy broth was perfectly done and paired amazingly well with the broth. Finished it all. Ah, I'm so full now. I'm thinking of trying the soba made with local flour and mackerel broth next time, but I realize I can't come four days in a row. With these thoughts in mind, I leave the restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

It had been a while since I last went to the office, so I decided to eat at a place I used to frequent. Since I couldn't remember how much I used to eat, I thought a small portion of 150g wouldn't be enough, so I ordered the regular portion of 300g of Dattan soba. The staff was as cheerful as ever. I also wanted to have some eggs, so I chose leek soup (hot) as my dipping sauce. As I was eating, I remembered that I always used to order the small portion... 300g was too much for me and I ended up feeling full. It was delicious though, and good for my body, so let's consider it a win.笑

Arrived at 14:00. It's the second day in a row. I ordered the large serving of Grace Soba (650 yen). While waiting for my order to arrive, I noticed that the customer behind me ordered Dattan Soba. I had thought they would be sold out by this time. Well, Grace Soba is said to be the standard type at this restaurant. Yesterday, I had it with leek soup, but today I decided to try it with regular noodle soup. However, a large serving of 100% soba for 650 yen seems quite cheap for Tokyo, almost like in Ginza. It arrived in about 5 minutes after ordering. The noodle soup is delicious, just like the traditional one. Maybe because the noodle soup is cold, the Grace Soba had more chewiness compared to the country soba I had yesterday. Finished it all. Maybe I'll come again tomorrow, aiming for Dattan Soba for a three-peat. I'm full again today. I realize that finishing a special serving is impossible as I leave the restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

I entered the restaurant at 13:40. I was a bit confused about the ordering system, but it seemed like you have to first order and pay with the mama-san, then wait for your food to be ready. There were two people ahead of me in line. About 10 people were already eating soba inside the restaurant at this time. I originally wanted to order the Dattan soba, but the mama-san told the previous customer that they could only do a small portion of it, so I gave up on that. I ended up ordering the Inaka soba large portion (650 yen) and a side of Negi soup (100 yen), which I requested to be served warm. I had to wait for three orders to be completed before it was my turn to receive my food. I got a small plate with Negi and wasabi on it and then found a free spot at the counter to eat. As I started eating, I found that the Negi soup had a slight acidity to it, with a base that seemed to be bonito broth, although it had a hint of other fish broth as well. The Negi soup was described as having an ethnic flavor, and it truly did. The soba noodles were very dark, and perhaps because I had the Negi soup warm, I didn't find them to have a strong texture. The description of the Negi soup also mentioned that it might not be recommended for those who want to enjoy the flavor of the soba noodles, but since I couldn't really taste the soba's flavor anyway, I just enjoyed the texture and the taste of the Negi soup. The half-boiled egg was a nice addition, and it paired well with the Negi soup, making the yolk taste delicious. I finished my meal and honestly, I was debating whether to order the extra-large portion, but I'm glad I stuck with the large size. The extra-large would have probably been too much. And if you're looking for a firmer texture, it might be better to have the dipping sauce cold during this season. The value for a 100% buckwheat soba like this is amazing. I left the restaurant thinking how great it was. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived at Keikameya in Kyobashi around 11:45. There was a line of about 10 people inside the restaurant. I waited for about 10 minutes and then placed my order verbally. I asked for the Keimiso soba and negi soup. I forgot to order the large serving, but after waiting for 1 minute, my order arrived. I sat at the counter and enjoyed my meal, dipping the soba into the soup and adding plenty of negi and wasabi. It was delicious until the last bite.

Tartar buckwheat noodles, large serving for 650 yen, boiled egg and green onion soup for 150 yen. I can't find words other than "amazing" for being able to eat this buckwheat at this price. And it's a huge portion! It's interesting to choose the buckwheat and the soup separately. This time, the green onion soup had a slightly strong salty taste, but it was just right for my style of dipping and eating. It has more punch than regular dipping sauce, maybe because of the green onion oil, and it's delicious! I now want to try the country-style buckwheat noodles next time. Thank you for the meal!

I visited Keimuya in Kyobashi, which is highly praised as being comparable to the renowned standing soba shop Minoya in Toranomon that closed in 2019. I ordered the special large portion of 100% buckwheat soba for 800 yen, along with the limited quantity spicy soup for an additional 150 yen. While waiting for my order, I prepared the condiments of green onions and cold water at the self-service counter. Even the regular size serving was impressive, with a volume nearly double that of other shops' large servings at 350g. The warm spicy soup with half-cooked egg and enoki mushrooms provided a gentle spiciness. When I dipped the noodles into the soup, the Sichuan pepper at the bottom burst, transforming the flavor into a spicy and refreshing one. I enjoyed adding plenty of freshly ground white sesame from the counter's mill for a different taste experience. Finally, I poured the soba water from the pot into the remaining soup to make a satisfying end to the meal.
