Today's dessert was from the ice cream and soft serve specialty shop "GUFO" located just a short walk from Yotsubashi Station. The simple exterior of the shop led to a stylish interior with a wooden design. I ordered the Hazelnut flavor for 480 yen and added Crushed Cookies as a topping for 90 yen, bringing the total to 570 yen (tax included). You could choose between a cone or a cup, and I opted for the cone this time. The soft serve was served in about a minute and looked delicious. Upon taking the first bite, I was pleasantly surprised by its texture, which was more like gelato than traditional soft serve. It felt like if a gelato shop focused on serving soft serve, this is what they would create. The hazelnut flavor was rich and the crushed cookies added a nice sweetness. The cone itself was also deliciously crispy. It was a delightful sweet treat and a great way to enjoy some dessert time. Thank you for the delicious treat!

I visited the store around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. There were 2 groups waiting. The store had 3 two-seater tables and 2 counter seats. It was full when I entered, but a seat became available while I was ordering so I decided to dine in.
[Items Ordered]
Small Double Cup (¥580)
- Hazelnut
- Dried Fig & Cheese
Limited-time Topping: Spider Web (¥90)
"Hazelnut" had a strong hazelnut flavor with a hint of sweetness, very delicious. "Dried Fig & Cheese" had a rich cheese flavor without the acidity, and the sweetness of the dried fig paired well with it, very tasty.

I visited at 6:05 PM on a regular day. Located about a 6-minute walk from Nishi-Ohashi Station, this is a highly-rated ice cream and gelato shop selected as one of the "Top 100 Ice Cream and Gelato Shops in 2023" on Tabelog. The shop, which opened in April 2016, has a total of 6 seats and is run by a female staff member. I ordered the "Milk 390 yen + Today's Fruit Sauce 90 yen" and here is my review:
Milk 390 yen: The soft serve ice cream, made in-house with a focus on low-temperature pasteurization, was served in a paper cup. I chose the single serving option and was impressed by the smooth and silky texture, made with high-quality ingredients.
Today's Fruit Sauce 90 yen: The sauce of the day was fig, adding a delightful texture to the ice cream. The sauce was unique and not commonly found in other shops.
Water: The ice cream was served in a very small paper cup, reminiscent of the old Shinkansen trains. The background music was South American-style music, and the shop mainly attracted couples and solo female customers, with a moderate level of customer traffic. Approximately 70% of the customers were women. At the time of my visit, the Tabelog rating was 3.53.
Overall, it was a trendy ice cream and gelato shop that prides itself on being "Groovy Ice Cream." I look forward to trying the "Hazelnut 480 yen + Fresh Chocolate Sauce 90 yen" on my next visit. Thank you for the delicious treat!

They stay open late and it's easy to visit. I got premium flavors of hazelnut and pistachio in a small double. It might have been better if I specified to have hazelnut at the bottom and pistachio on top since they melt quickly.

During my visit to Kitahorie, I stopped by this place! The interior was filled with young people! The cute atmosphere of the store matched the appearance of the ice cream perfectly! Both the gelato and soft serve were generously served, which was great for those with a sweet tooth! Thank you for the delicious treat!

Osaka / Horie [gufo] ☑️ice cream Small Double ¥580◆Salty Fromage◆Dry Fig & Walnut☑️soft cream Milk ¥390+Crushed Cookie ¥90+Raspberry Crispy ¥90My personal recommendation is the ice cream!! It's more voluminous than it looks, and a double serving was a bit too much for one person. The seating inside consists of four two-seater tables, so it was full for eat-in service. Since it's an ice cream specialty shop, we were able to be seated quickly as they open early.◎──────────────────────〒550-0014Osaka, Nishi-ku, Kitahorie 1-11-9 U+ Building 1F⚐ Business hours: 12:00-19:00⚐ Closed on Wednesdays⚐ Tel: 06-6534-7171⚐ Reservation: -⚐ Access: 2-minute walk from Yotsubashi Station⚐ Parking: -⚐ Price: 999 (⚠️Information may change, so please check with the store for details)──────────────────────Thank you for reading until the end! I visited "GUFO," a shop located in the foodie city of Osaka, which was selected as one of the top 100 ice cream and gelato shops in 2023 by Tabelog. Congratulations! The shop opened in April 2016 and is located just a 2-minute walk from Yotsubashi Station on the Osaka Metro. It is situated on the first floor of the U+ Building in Kitahorie Gojikoen. In front of the shop, there is an ice cream monument. The interior of the shop has a stylish and handmade feel. Today, I tried the Milk Soft Serve with toppings of "Cranberry Crispy" and "Crushed Cookie," creating a two-tone color of red and brown. The smooth and creamy soft serve paired perfectly with the sweet and tangy cranberry crunch. Next, I enjoyed the bittersweet taste of the chocolate. I would love to visit again in the future. Thank you for the delicious treat.

I chose pistachio and Earl Grey chocolate in a small double scoop. Both flavors were rich and had a pleasant aroma. The interior of the shop is not very spacious, but it is a comfortable space with a well-thought-out layout. I am curious about the other flavors, so I definitely want to visit again.

Walk southwest for a bit, then take the subway from Nishi-Umeda to Yotsuhashi Station. Walk west for a while and around 15:35, saw three girls taking a commemorative photo. They told me to go ahead, so I went in. The place was about 90% full, with only one person at the register. I ordered a Triple, choosing popular flavors like pistachio, salted vanilla, and pineapple. I also ordered a lemon soda with soft serve on top. Paid 1450 yen with a card, filled a paper cup with water while waiting. The order was ready in about 5 minutes. The seating was crowded, so I took a quick bite and headed to the station. The soft serve was sweet, but the juice inside was not very sweet, almost salty. The top flavor was salted vanilla, which added a subtle salty accent. The pineapple in the middle was refreshing and delicious. The green one at the bottom was pistachio, which I didn't quite understand the hype around. It tasted like sweet ground nuts, not bad but nothing special. I was thinking of going to a famous izakaya next, but it was still closed, so I decided to head home.

On the 4th day in Osaka, I visited a gelato shop called "Ice Gelato Hyakumeiten" nearby. I was prepared for a long line, but there were only a few customers so I was able to get in quickly. I ordered a double scoop of soft serve with caramel sauce topping, and chose pistachio earl grey and chocolate flavors. The ice cream here was incredibly delicious. The pistachio flavor was rich and different from the ones you can find at convenience stores. The earl grey chocolate flavor had a nice balance of tea and chocolate. The soft serve melted quickly so I had to eat it fast, but it was creamy and delicious, similar to the ones you would find at a farm. I think I'm becoming addicted to ice cream.

This time, I visited during lunchtime and the restaurant was full, so I got a milk soft serve in a cone to go. The taste was really milky and delicious. I enjoyed the cone and the cream. It was melting quickly because it was hot outside, so I had to eat it quickly. Thank you for the meal.

Located just a 2-minute walk west from Yotsubashi Station (Exit 6) of Osaka Metro, is the gelato shop "GUFO" which was recently selected as one of the top 100 gelato shops in 2023. This shop is more known for its ice cream rather than gelato, and their soft serve is also quite popular. I visited on a holiday evening around 5 pm and found quite a crowd, mostly young girls. Despite the crowd, I decided to order inside the shop rather than for takeout. After placing my order and prepaying, I received a number tag and waited for my turn.
I ordered the "Gelato (Tayberry Sorbet)" which cost 390 yen. The tayberry flavor was amazing, with a perfect balance of sweet and sour notes. The ice cream was served directly from the freezer at the back of the shop, giving it a refreshing and satisfying taste. The coldness, the refreshing flavor, and the overall experience made it a delightful treat on a hot day.
In terms of taste, atmosphere, and service, the shop received high ratings. The ice cream was not only visually appealing but also delicious, making it a popular choice on social media. Overall, GUFO in Osaka's Kita-Horie is a recommended ice cream shop with a lot to offer. If you ever find yourself in Minami Osaka, I suggest you give it a try. It's a very hot day... I really want to eat some delicious ice cream! It's a bit far, but let's go to "GUFO"! The cute owl drawings are so captivating. If they have pistachio flavor, I will definitely order it. The rich taste is amazing. I can't miss the tayberry sorbet either. It has a rich aroma and a sweet and sour taste. The coconut flavor is like a tropical summer scent, with a gentle sweetness that soothes you. When I went, there was no one else there, but once I started eating, more and more people came in. It was perfect timing. Let's power through the day with this treat. Thank you for the meal!

I visited around 1:30 PM on Sunday afternoon. It was crowded, with one group of customers ahead of me, but I only had to wait for about 5 minutes before I could make a purchase. I ordered a Small Double cup with Earl Grey Chocolate & Coconut flavors. It was very delicious and I thought it was different from regular store-bought ice cream.

Last summer, I almost got heatstroke on my way to the store, but when I finally arrived, it was unexpectedly closed for the day. However, that store with such a memorable incident is now a popular spot! If I want to make a comeback, it has to be this summer. So, I visited GUFO in Kitahorie. We were lucky to find seats inside for dining, so we quickly placed our order. I chose pistachio and hazelnut in a cup, while my partner went for coconut and Thai berry sorbet in a cone. Pistachio has become a classic flavor, which was not so popular when we were kids. But now, it's my favorite gelato flavor. The ones here are rich and delicious. Oh, the hazelnut is also intense, fragrant, and tasty. The scorching heat of this punishment-like weather seems to enhance the flavors even more. With this successful revenge, we move on to our next destination. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the stylish ice cream shop "Goof" that caught my attention. It's located within a 5-minute walk from Yotsubashi Station on the Yotsubashi Line, which was convenient. They are open until 7 pm, making it easy to visit. In late July, around 5:30 pm, I went alone. I was the only guest at first, but within about 30 minutes, 7 more people arrived, and it became full. They accept cash, cards, electronic money, etc.
[What I ordered]
- Melon Sundae 980 yen
It's a masterpiece of melon that I missed out on last year. It consists of double scoops of ice cream sandwiched between cut melon. You can choose the ice cream flavor. From that day's menu...
✔ Salty Fromage
✔ Piña Colada (pineapple and coconut sorbet)
I chose Piña Colada ☀️ It was served in about 5 minutes. I hesitated whether to scoop from the top or start with the melon. The melon was fresh and juicy! And the ice cream... Salty Fromage is made with Hokkaido cream cheese and graham crackers, with a subtle salty taste giving a cheesecake-like sensation. It was delicious. The other Piña Colada was overflowing with tropical vibes. It was refreshing and felt like a non-alcoholic cocktail ✨ It melted smoothly. Perfect for pineapple & coconut lovers! It was a delightful summer evening. I was grateful for the cooling treat. I realized it's perfect for a quick snack after work as it's within walking distance. However, since it's easily visible to passersby, it's important to choose a seat carefully to relax. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I was originally a fan from the opening days of Ricarica in Sakai. At that time, there was no pistachio flavor, and I had been requesting it for a long time, so when it was finally created, I was moved. The matcha flavor, I actually wanted to use even better matcha, but the attention to detail is visible, and they make it so wonderfully. This sister shop of that store. The gelato here is different from Ricarica, being round in shape. It was the perfect taste for me as a passion fruit lover. And what I highly recommend here is the hazelnut soft serve. I've had it at a gelato shop in Tokyo before, but the one here is rich, not overly sweet, and delicious! Of course, the smoothness is also perfect. You can also choose toppings like raspberry sauce and chips. A certain famous high-end supermarket, Grand Food Hall, seems to carry the gelato bottles from here for takeout. It's wonderful to be chosen by a company known for carefully selecting only one item to place in their store.
