Today's lunch was in Hakata. Once again, I came to Hakata. My work starts in the afternoon, but I arrived in Hakata by 10:30 am (laughs) of course, to enjoy lunch. It's Sunday, so the station is crowded like washing sweet potatoes (°Д°) Somehow I managed to squeeze through and headed to Akasaka by bus. I'm sure it's around here, but... there it is, there was a line ( ω-、) I have plenty of time. Besides, this is my destination. I lined up behind about 15 people. While waiting, I checked the steps for my afternoon work. Before I knew it, there were nearly 20 people lined up behind me. After about 30 minutes of waiting, I finally entered the restaurant. I ordered the Ajisai set meal (940 yen) and added extra rice (50 yen) at the ticket machine. I sat in the waiting area behind the counter. Do I have to line up again inside the restaurant? (。>д<) While waiting, I started to get really hungry. I stood up and went back to the ticket machine to add a mackerel (160 yen) to my order. After 40 minutes of waiting in line, I was finally seated \(^-^)/ The set meal was served and I was asked if I wanted some salted fish roe. Of course, I couldn't resist! I tried a bit of it before the tempura arrived. Yum ( ゚Д゚) the salty fish roe was sticky and had a hint of yuzu fragrance. It made me crave a beer. The first dish that arrived was white fish. I took a bite. It was mehikari. Delicious, it's a white fish with rich flavor that comes out as you chew. Next came shrimp, kashiwa, and mackerel. And of course, mackerel, my favorite. A must-have when in Kyushu. It was thick and juicy. I put a big shrimp on my rice. I had to turn it to bite. Crunch. The shrimp popped in my mouth, sweet and delicious. Kashiwa was like chicken thigh meat. Juicy and full of meaty juice. I was completely satisfied (*^O^*) This place is really delicious. Pumpkin, eggplant, bell pepper, and vegetable tempura marched in. The sweet pumpkin was soft, eggplant was juicy, and the bell pepper was huge and full of juice like a paprika. I savored the extra rice with each bite. Lastly, squid arrived, probably swordtip squid. It was also thick and chewy. Snap. It was satisfying to bite through. The sweetness of the squid overwhelmed me. Delicious, so delicious. I finished the remaining rice with the salted fish roe. Wow, the tempura was so delicious. I had heard that this place was popular and wanted to try it, and the taste exceeded my expectations. When I stepped outside, the line had gotten even longer (○_○)!! Thank you for the meal. I still had time before work, so I took a walk around the Fukuoka Castle ruins nearby. I encountered a cute child (≧▽≦)
