Eating log: It's a yakiniku restaurant called "Gaya" near Ojima Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line. Last time, I ordered the top set and the meat was so amazing that this time I wanted to try ordering one level down. So, first things first, beer! This restaurant has a variety of meat sets, so I chose the "Gaya Set" which costs 5000 yen. The set includes: - 2 servings of Kalbi - 2 servings of loin - Namul - Kimchi - Sangchu. The main difference from the "special" set last time is that this one is not the "top" quality meat, but rather the "regular" quality. When the meat arrived, I was surprised. The marbling on this meat is quite impressive, but is this really just the regular quality? Upon closer inspection, there are some leaner parts, but a significant portion of the meat is marbled. I like my meat on the rare side, so I cooked it for about 10 seconds on each side until a slight char appeared. The first bite... delicious! The melt-in-your-mouth flavor lived up to my expectations. This meat could easily compete with the top quality meat at other restaurants! I enjoy rich flavors, but even so, I was very satisfied with this meat. The accompanying Namul was a generous portion, perfect for snacking. As I continued to drink, I ordered Makgeolli. The additional Komutan soup was light yet flavorful with a clear beef broth. Overall, I was extremely satisfied. This time, I tried the regular set and it was still more than enough. And it was cost-effective, which made me very happy. I highly recommend this yakiniku restaurant "Gaya". Next time, I want to try various other sets as well. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal. 10.08
Title: Easy to choose with set menus
Located a few minutes' walk from Ojima Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line. I had been curious about the charcoal-grilled yakiniku restaurant, Gaya, for a while, so I visited for the first time. When I searched on Tabelog, I found that no one had written any reviews... I visited without any information. It was unexpectedly crowded at 8:00 p.m. on a Saturday. On the right side of the entrance, there were listed brands of Wagyu beef that they had purchased. My expectations went up! After ordering a beer, I was indecisive about what to order, but then I saw a special variety set. Priced at 7500 yen, it included top tongue salt, rib loin, top kalbi, top loin, top tripe, kimchi, and cholegi salad. All of which were top quality! There were also many other affordable sets, and the special set I ordered seemed to be the most expensive. The kimchi arrived. The taste I like with a spicy kick that comes later. Cholegi salad. It came out on a large plate, which was surprising because it was a set. Maybe it's too much for two people to eat? The meat arrived. It all came on one large plate! A lot of meat. Kalbi and loin, each with 5 pieces, and the rib was around 150-200g... It's definitely more than enough for two people...(laughs) All the meat was incredibly delicious! The marbling was so rich that I started to think maybe I didn't need the top quality... The second half became too fatty, so I ordered Komutan soup. A clear soup that reset my palate. If there was a little less meat, I would have wanted to order Komutan Cuppa. I finished everything, but next time I visit, I want to try ordering the regular kalbi and using the top quality meat sparingly. It's cheaper and more cost-effective. They also have a great selection of drinks, and I really liked it. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal. 09.04
