Students! Big eaters! Gather around! This is Gurumani! I've been eyeing this place for a while now, and I've done my homework on places like Yoyogi in Tokyo and Oatari in Kyodo. But, surprise surprise, this place is a bit far from major cities and not really a tourist spot. However, I just had to go, so I squeezed it into my trip to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. The exterior looked familiar even though it was my first time there. The interior was spacious and had a nostalgic feel, which was great! The menu was straightforward, just choose the size, so I went for one serving of yakiniku with a side of steamed rice. After ordering, the rice and miso soup arrived in about 5 minutes. I couldn't wait and already had the chopsticks ready. A minute later, the long-awaited yakiniku arrived! First, I flipped the grill to heat it up, then moved the vegetables and meat to collect the oil, and finally spread the special spicy miso on the grill. Ready to go! Let's eat! I tried a piece as is, and it was irresistible! The strong garlic flavor, the taste that makes you want more rice, and the punchy seasoning were like a stir-fried dish. Then, I mixed the oil and spicy miso together, coated the meat and vegetables, and enjoyed a blissful moment! The rice just kept coming! But wait, I had to pace myself as the rice and yakiniku were not in sync. I controlled myself and savored each bite, and in the end, I mixed all the yakiniku with the spicy miso on top of the rice. It was drool-worthy! Finished it all in one go, feeling happy, and headed to the next place by train. If you're in Fukuoka, I highly recommend this place. Even if you're from outside Fukuoka, if you love on-the-rice dishes, you should give it a try! And for those in Tokyo, while it's best to try it here, why not start by visiting the first place I mentioned? I was attracted by the reputation and went to Bikkuritei Honke. When you enter the shop, the smell of garlic being fried fills the air, stimulating your appetite. I ordered 1.5 servings of yakiniku, which was served on a hot plate with hot cabbage and meat. The meat was placed diagonally on the iron pot, and by melting the spicy miso in the oil from the meat and the moisture from the cabbage at the bottom, dipping the meat in it and eating it made me feel so happy. However, it was delicious but a bit too salty.

When I come to Fukuoka, I always end up going to this restaurant that is in the top 3. People in Fukuoka call it teppanyaki, but the menu is called "bikkuri yaki." The restaurant is filled with a strong smell of garlic and smoke, but it really stimulates your appetite. The sizzling dish is brought to you on a hot iron plate, just like a B-grade gourmet visual. I like to eat it with plenty of karashi miso, making it turn bright red. By the way, I've been to many different restaurants, but the karashi miso here is the best, so I always end up coming here. The sharp karashi miso flavor is unique, and although there are some teppanyaki restaurants in Tokyo, there's nowhere that does karashi miso like here.

Have you captured the steaming hot aura? It may look plain, but the expectations are high. Mmm, delicious. After about 10% eaten, I added the spicy miso to the sea of fat. The cabbage is the best in the world for eating rice! One serving with a large bowl of rice was a good choice. Saved by the pickles and miso soup, even though I miscalculated the portions. As expected, having 1.5 servings and a large bowl of rice makes it easy to eat without worrying about portions. Today, I am satisfied with being 80% full. Thank you for the meal.

This day was a business trip to Fukuoka. After finishing the afternoon meeting, I headed to the usual airport for dinner before leaving. I took the JR Kagoshima Main Line from Hakata Station to Minami-Fukuoka Station. On such a day, the train was significantly delayed, and the platform was crowded with rush hour commuters. It was getting late, but I managed to arrive at Minami-Fukuoka Station. A few minutes' walk from the station, I arrived at the main store of Bikkuri Tei Honke. Despite having steak for lunch, I couldn't resist trying the soul food of Fukuoka, teppanyaki yakiniku, for dinner. The reason I chose to visit this place was because I had previously visited the original Bikkuri Tei's Sumiyoshi branch, but I wasn't impressed, so I decided to try the main store. I arrived at the restaurant around 6:15 PM. My flight was at 7:45 PM, so it was quite tight. I was seated at the counter, and I ordered two servings of the teppanyaki yakiniku with medium rice. After a 5-minute wait, a sizzling plate of teppanyaki yakiniku arrived. It seemed like too much for two people, but I went ahead and tried it. The garlic-flavored pork sagari and stir-fried cabbage were delicious, with a perfect balance of flavors. The amount of meat was generous, and the overall balance was fantastic. Finally, I added the spicy miso sauce, and it was even more delicious. It was a truly amazing experience, and the soul food of Fukuoka did not disappoint. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Bikkuri Tei in Fukuoka has become a soul food favorite, but I haven't had the chance to go often. My wife experienced it for the first time, waiting in line as the 5th person before opening. Since we had already eaten breakfast, we ordered one serving of grilled meat and a small bowl of rice. The sizzling grilled meat arrived, looking just as delicious as ever. Placing the hot plate on the geta, we piled on plenty of spicy miso at the bottom and enjoyed eating with it, making the rice seem endless. As expected, Bikkuri Tei is delicious with the hot plate.

After finishing work in Hakata, it's a 15-minute train ride from Hakata Station to Minami-Fukuoka Station, and then a 3-minute walk. Today, I ordered a double with medium rice, and a draft beer. I asked for the yakiniku to be served at the same time. It's great that the staff here listen to your requests. The food is delicious!! I visited another restaurant recently, but this one is exceptional in terms of taste! I definitely want to visit this excellent restaurant again.

Visited Nagoya and Fukuoka on a day trip on 07/06/2023 and finally made it to the main branch of Bikkuri Tei, a teppanyaki restaurant I've been wanting to visit for a long time. I first encountered teppanyaki beef in Hakata over 20 years ago, and after learning that Bikkuri Tei was the originator on TV, I started eating at their branches multiple times, but never made it to the main branch until now. Located near Minami-Fukuoka Station, there is a parking lot a short distance away from the restaurant. After parking the car, I headed to the restaurant. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the restaurant's founding, which is quite an achievement. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed that the menu was very simple - beef teppanyaki, rice, kimchi, and miso soup. The drink menu was extensive, catering to those who enjoy alcohol with their meal. I ordered one serving of beef teppanyaki for 900 yen and a medium serving of rice for 200 yen. After a 10-minute wait, the sizzling teppanyaki was brought to the table. The beef was cooked on the grill with a Bikkuri stick underneath to collect the meat juices and fat, which were then mixed with spicy miso. The meat and cabbage were cooked and then placed on top of the rice, creating a burst of delicious flavors in my mouth. It was so delicious that I couldn't help but eat quickly, resulting in a burnt mouth. Be careful not to get too excited by the deliciousness and eat too quickly!

It's been a while since I visited the restaurant. Oh, it feels like a long time compared to when I used to come three times a week, although it's actually once a month now. I ordered a regular size and large rice for myself, and the same for my daughter. It cost 1,200 yen each. I remember teaching my daughter how to use chopsticks with the disposable ones from this place. She learned quickly because it's her favorite place. She's already a high school student, so it's been about 10 years since then. Time flies. Sorry if the smell of her school uniform transferred to the chopsticks. Anyway, back to the present. The hot dishes were really delicious. The oil-absorbing paper didn't do much, but the hot dishes were amazing! The rice is cooked in a gas pot, so it's really good. My daughter always gets too much rice, so I took some from her. I didn't add any spicy miso until the end today. The normal cabbage side dish is so tasty here, whether it's a bit raw or has a hard core, this place works its magic on it. Is there any other menu where you can enjoy cabbage this much? No, there isn't! Even if it's a bit raw or has a hard core, once you have it here, it's delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I stayed at a hotel near Minami-Fukuoka Station to have dinner at "Bikkuri-tei" restaurant. I walked from the hotel to the restaurant. It was past 7 pm but the restaurant was quite crowded. I sat at the counter. I ordered the "Double" size of yakiniku and a "Medium" size of rice. In the kitchen, they were stir-frying a large amount of cabbage in a wok and cooking beef in another wok. After waiting for about 10 minutes, the food arrived! They placed a big chopstick holder-like footwear (surprise stick) under the iron plate and pushed the fat to one side. They melted and mixed the secret spicy miso into the fat. Ready to eat, I took a bite of the beef first. The spicy miso melted in the fat was extremely delicious. The combination with the sweetness of the cabbage was amazing. I quickly finished the rice. The iron plate remained hot until the end, and the fat coming out from the beef and cabbage was so tasty. I finished the meal. The payment was done through PayPay!

I ordered 1.5 servings of spicy miso ramen with extra rice. As soon as I walked into the restaurant, the smell alone made me eager to dig in. The spicy miso broth was delicious, making me break a sweat as I ate. The meat was satisfying, and the cabbage soaked up all the flavors perfectly. Night visit after a long time. One-person serving of omurice for 1,200 yen. I was seated quickly but had to wait about 30 minutes after ordering. Well, they make it all at once so it can't be helped. Lots of cabbage, but tasty. I started by eating it as is, then added some spicy miso once a pool of oil formed. Surprised by the stick with the Titanic on the iron plate. The last piece of burnt garlic also went well with the rice. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Riding the JR Kagoshima Main Line from Hakata Station to Minami-Fukuoka Station was a great decision~♪ This is "Bikkuri-tei Yakiniku" that makes you feel that way! Placing the gently wooden pillow = surprise stick on the hot iron plate, pushing the vegetable meat juice to one side, mixing it with the spicy miso available on the counter, dipping the grilled meat in the flavorful juice, and then on the rice! And then, savoring the white rice with the yellow pickled daikon. Munch munch munch~ Delicious~ So surprising~ So tasty~ I really wanted to gulp down a cold beer with a piece of grilled meat, but I had to endure it because of the long-distance travel the next day. Enduring with the self-service water. Enduring with the self-service water. Next time, I definitely want to order a beer with my grilled meat, so please look forward to it. (>-<) Additional note: When you descend the stairs at Minami-Fukuoka Station and turn your face to the left, you will see the shiny neon sign of "Bikkuri-tei Honke Honten" right there. Work in Hakata ended as scheduled in the morning. I had free time until my evening flight, so I headed straight to a must-visit restaurant, "Bikkuri Tei." It had been a year since my last visit. As I got closer to the restaurant, the smell of garlic filled the air, raising my expectations. I ordered "1.5 servings" of food and a draft beer. Even though it was only 1 pm, I couldn't resist ordering a draft beer. When I had finished about half of it, the hot iron plate arrived, sizzling with the sound of cooking. Overflowing cabbage and sagari meat were served, along with the familiar "surprise stick" inserted diagonally. I added spicy miso to the mix of broth and miso, then dipped the cabbage and sagari in it. The broth, rich in flavor, was outstanding. I couldn't help it, I needed another beer. Sorry, another draft beer, please. This dish is a must-try in Hakata. I envy the locals who can enjoy this all the time. The "lunch beer" felt a bit indulgent, but it was the best lunch I've had. I visited around 3 pm in the afternoon. I went alone and sat at the counter. There were seats available and I was smoothly guided to one. I ordered a serving of yakiniku with a regular portion of rice. I had high expectations after seeing it on TV, and it turned out to be just as delicious as I had hoped (which is actually quite impressive, right?). It was served piping hot as soon as it arrived! The enticing smell of garlic made my mouth water! I had seen them generously apply their secret spicy miso sauce on TV, so I thought I would add more as I went along and just added a spoonful. It was the right amount, and I enjoyed mixing it in while eating.

Around 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon in April 2023, I got off the Shinkansen and came straight here. It was decided that this would be the first meal of my Fukuoka trip. There was a sign outside with names written on it, and although there were already many names listed, the line was not too long. The turnover rate was good, and we were able to enter the restaurant in about 15 minutes. I ordered the 900 yen grilled offal for one person, and my companion ordered the 1250 yen grilled offal for 1.5 people, each with a side of small rice for 150 yen. The taste was simply delicious. It had a garlic-flavored base, and the meat and cabbage were well seasoned, making the rice go down smoothly. By the way, when I say meat, it's just offal. It's more like a topping, with mostly cabbage underneath. Adding the spicy miso on the table enhances the flavor even more. There are instructions on how to use the spicy miso, and everyone follows them to enjoy the meal (*^^*). Perhaps this place has become so famous because of its great taste? Serving a small amount of cabbage and offal for around 1000 yen is a profitable business model, isn't it? (○-∀・)b Thumbs up! The seasoning is a bit different from others. It's a well-known restaurant that has been featured on "Kenmin Show," so it's definitely worth a visit. You can pay with PayPay.
