Gourmet Trip Part 10 Hokkaido Trip 2022 Snack Visit. The location is along Sakaimachi Dori, where many souvenir shops are lined up connecting Otaru Canal and Minami-Otaru Station. It's mostly on the Minami-Otaru Station side. This shop has the first floor as a shop for Ratao's main store with lots of tasting corners! Just this alone gives a sense of satisfaction. The second floor is like a cafe. The cafe operates on the popular EPARK waiting list reception system that has been expanding lately. It seems like they are really good at expanding this business! The wait was about 30 minutes, but most of the limited menu items were already sold out. If you really want to try the limited menu, you have to go in the morning. Be careful if you want to try the fluffy Mont Blanc or the Moo Moo Milk Pie Choux! What I tried was the Miracle Melting Set for 1,430 yen. *Choose Carillon Harmony (hot) as the drink. This menu is also limited to the main store. But if you order separately, it's not limited, so there are no sold-out items. The actual taste was amazing! The Double Fromage is incredible! It melts in your mouth! Extremely delicious! This is the strongest cheesecake ever, a taste of invention! The Sweet King's flavor. Even Edison would be surprised. Ratao is amazing. Fresh is always good! Next is the Venetian Rendezvous. It looks like a baked cheesecake. But when you try it, the cheese is extremely creamy like pudding! It melts and tastes great! It didn't have the same impact as the Double Fromage, but this one is also amazing! As a bonus, until December 2022, if you download the Ratao app on your smartphone, you can eat Ratao's soft serve ice cream for free! Furthermore, in this cafe, you can also eat the ice cream you bought at the takeout counter in the cafe. I went to get it and tried it, and it was also extremely delicious! At the main store of LeTAO, the best way to enjoy without waiting in line is to wake up early and dash to the hotel for a smooth dining experience! So, I visited right after the opening on a weekday! The Mont Blanc available only in the morning is squeezed right in front of you. It was so delicious with a crispy meringue and a strong chestnut flavor. Another popular item is the Miracle Mouthfeel Set. The Double Fromage is the most popular, but personally, I prefer the Venetian Rendezvous because of its strong cheese flavor. I bought a lot of souvenirs on the first floor on my way back!

I visited the main store for the first time and chose the Miracle Melting Set for 1,500 yen. It tasted similar to the Double Fromage I have bought several times at the Royce store in New Chitose Airport. Eating it at the store, the top part was fluffy and, of course, tasted even better in the atmosphere. The Baked Cheesecake next to it had a richer flavor, allowing you to enjoy a gradation of flavors between the refreshing taste of the Double Fromage and the denser taste of the Baked Cheesecake.

When you come to Hokkaido, you can't go home until you visit the LeTAO main store! So, to wrap up my trip, I went there. The Double Fromage is still the best. The seasonal tea had a fruity aroma similar to my favorite TWG Silver Moon tea, and it was wonderful.

I went to the LeTAO main store around 2:00 PM on September 12th. Despite the heavy rain, the store was crowded. There were a lot of foreign customers, as expected. I bought the limited edition Financier at the main store. It was crispy on the outside, and the buttery flavor permeated the inside, making it delicious.

While strolling around Otaru, I stumbled upon the famous LeTAO shop. When you think of Otaru, you think of LeTAO, right? There are several LeTAO branches along the tourist street, each offering slightly different items. This time, I decided to visit the main store. The first floor was a shop, and the second floor seemed to be a cafe. I bought the famous Double Fromage, and also tried the freshly baked Financier that looked incredibly delicious. The Financier is a special item only available at the main store. Ordered items: - Honey Butter Financier 300 yen - Double Fromage 475 yen Review: - Financier: This was delicious! It was like swimming in a sea of butter. The edges were crispy, while the inside was moist and crumbly. The rich buttery flavor and aroma spread throughout. Despite being a bit pricey, the buttery goodness made it worth it! - Double Fromage: A bit expensive but also delicious. The fluffy cream and mascarpone mousse on top had a great melt-in-your-mouth texture and a refined sweetness. The baked cheese at the bottom had a subtle cheese flavor and gentle richness. Each layer stood out, but they all came together nicely when eaten as a whole. It wasn't too heavy, so I could easily finish the whole thing. LeTAO is a well-known name, and I was very satisfied with the delicious treats I had. Hokkaido Wanderlust 154 Otaru City on Sundays (⁠⑉⁠⊙⁠ȏ⁠⊙⁠) So crowded with people! About half of them are tourists from China and Korea. I wanted to go to the cafe on the 2nd floor, but it was fully booked! I wandered around on the 1st floor and enjoyed various food samples. I tried the Double Fromage, which was delicious. I also tried the seasonal limited edition Niagara Double for ¥486. I enjoyed it on the terrace outside the shop. The poster and sample were in muscat color, but the actual Niagara Double was the same color as the regular one. The Double Fromage leaves a strong cheese aftertaste, while the Niagara has a refreshing grape flavor. It was small, so it was gone in 5 bites. The nearby LeTAO Pathos was less crowded.

I went on a regular day, and it was incredibly crowded. There were over 40 groups waiting! (But I was called within an hour.) You can check the waiting status on LINE when you check in, and they will also call you when it's your turn, so it's a good idea to look around at the nearby sweet shops and glass shops while you wait. I tried the Double Fromage in normal, chocolate, melon, and original flavor teas. They were all delicious and satisfying. The interior of the shop is cute and relaxing, and it's perfect for taking Instagram-worthy photos.

This is the main store of LeTAO in Otaru. As it is the main store, it was bustling with many people. Inside the store, they were also handing out samples, and the cookies were so delicious that I didn't hesitate to buy them. I also tried the soft serve ice cream and financiers, and both were surprisingly delicious.

One of the purposes of coming to Otaru was to enjoy the sweets at the main store of LeTAO. When I arrived close to lunchtime, there was already a line. However, they have a system where they call you using LINE, so you can stroll around this area without feeling the wait time. It's very much appreciated. While waiting, I tried the financiers sold on the first floor. They were rich and buttery, and you can only get them fresh at the main store. Such a luxurious taste. After waiting for about an hour, my turn came. Everything was delicious with rich flavors! I enjoyed them with seasonal tea. The sweet cakes paired well with the refreshing tea. TAO is celebrating its 25th anniversary. However, there were so many people... When walking in Otaru, there were many people who seemed like inbound tourists. We wanted to go to a cafe, but there was a wait for 40 groups??? We gave up and just got soft serve ice cream. We wanted to visit various places, but gave up due to the crowds. By the way, I realized while talking with my wife that I didn't see any signs for "ice" in Hokkaido.

If you come to Otaru, you have to try the desserts at LeTAO. So my friend and I came here. The second floor seemed very crowded, but since our goal was soft serve ice cream, we were fine on the first floor. After some hesitation, we decided on the Cup de Fromage Glace (strawberry, mango). It's a soft serve ice cream that combines baked cheesecake and creme glace. It was really delicious! I wonder if this series comes in different flavors like blueberry, orange, coffee, etc. I would love to try them all. It was so delicious! Thank you for the meal.

I came to the main store of LeTAO to eat sweets at the cafe on the second floor. I waited for about 10 groups, but I was able to kill time at the nearby Orgel Hall because I could see the waiting time on the internet. It was meaningful. It was also surprisingly quick to be called. I ordered the seasonal limited Melon Double Fromage. LeTAO's cheesecake, you already know the taste, it's the best.

I visited this restaurant for the second time, but unfortunately the limited quantity Mont Blanc with a 10-minute expiration date was sold out. However, I enjoyed the usual Mont Blanc and cheesecake. The wait was okay, as they use a system where they call you via LINE, so I could pick out souvenirs on the lower floor while waiting for my turn. It's a great way to make good use of time at this shop.

You can't miss the Financier from LeTAO when you come to Otaru! As a Financier lover, I couldn't resist trying it! The freshly baked Financier was amazing... Crispy on the outside, and moist and buttery on the inside... so delicious! I regret not buying coffee to go with it. This Financier would definitely still be delicious even when cold. I'm full but I have to eat something before heading to the airport in the afternoon! There was soft serve ice cream but I'm full so I went for the financiers. I love financiers! ◎ Freshly baked financiers for 300 yen. Ah, it's warm and cozy. I tried eating it on a bench outside. The outside is crispy, and the inside is so buttery! With every bite, it's crispy and buttery. Wow, this is delicious! The freshly baked financiers from Le Zanzyu were also good, but this one wins with its buttery taste. When I come to Hokkaido, I usually buy souvenirs from Rokkatei and Yawaragi, but from now on, LeTao will be the star! Hokkaido sweets are really delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I made a reservation for 11:30, even though the available slot was from 11:00. Unfortunately, the Mont Blanc was already sold out. The staff mentioned that it usually sells out within an hour of opening. Despite missing out on the Mont Blanc, I enjoyed a lovely time at the beautiful store and ended up getting the Angel's Melt set. The staff was very polite and I would love to visit this place again.

Main event in Otaru! Headed to LeTAO Empire. I made a reservation in advance, which turned out to be the right decision! The Empire was crowded with people from various countries. When I mentioned my reservation at the cafe on the second floor, I was immediately escorted to a spacious table and sofa seat away from the hustle and bustle near the entrance. Reservation is amazing! Although I was full from sushi, I couldn't resist the miracle melt-in-your-mouth set with two types of cakes. Of course, I paired it with the limited edition tea, with the sound of the Kalion harp. My companion, feeling the effects of the sushi, opted for the cake set. The long-awaited cakes arrived. The raw Double Fromage is amazing! Fluffy, creamy, and rich! The miracle melt-in-your-mouth! That's right! The other tart looked rich but was surprisingly refreshing and soft. It was delicious too. And the limited edition red tea from the main store was very delicious! Earl Grey base with fig, apricot, ice wine, and luxurious flavors. It was so delicious that I bought some tea leaves to take home. On the way back, I bought the Honey Butter Financier, a limited edition item, from the shop on the first floor. I enjoyed it back at the hotel, and it was indeed delicious. LeTAO Empire, thoroughly enjoyed! It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

It was delicious. If I have the chance, I will go there, but even ordering it was delicious enough. It was a three-day weekend, but I only had to wait for about an hour to get into the store. The staff seemed too busy to be friendly, but the taste of LeTAO was as good as ever. The main store had a souvenir corner and an observatory where you could learn about LeTAO's history, which made the wait enjoyable. I will continue to be a LeTAO fan!
