I came all the way to Hakodate❣️ On this day, I had lunch at a French restaurant. The restaurant is a 5-minute walk from the Kashiwagi tram station and a 10-minute drive from Hakodate Station. I made a reservation in advance and visited. In this area, there are private high schools and large houses in a residential area. There are also famous tempura shops and popular Italian restaurants nearby, but this time, I visited a wonderful French restaurant located in a beautiful house. As soon as I stepped inside, it was a very calm space. Just as the sudden rain stopped and the sun shone, the greenery of the garden outside the large windows looked beautiful. I consulted with the madame to order a course that matched the reservation and requested wine pairing. <Harmony Course ¥7480-> Pre-appetizer (2 dishes) Homemade bread and butter Appetizer: Thick Sawara asparagus, Hokkaido hokke, Americaine sauce Fish dish: Hokkaido hokke, Americaine sauce Meat dish: Takiyama duck roast, Tokachi Ayame beef sirloin (+¥1980) Dessert: Hokuto strawberries and matcha After-meal moment: Small sweets and coffee Wine pairing including foam (extra charge) The first dish for the pre-appetizer was scallop fritters, roasted beef, almonds, and cheese crackers. Each one was delicious to nibble on while enjoying the sparkling wine in the glass. Every dish was so carefully crafted and incredibly delicious. The second dish was white carrot potage. The natural sweetness of the carrots was brought out, creating a comforting flavor. The appetizer was green asparagus. The seafood included in the dish was botan shrimp, snow crab, spear squid, and masuko. The accompaniments alone could have been a main dish, they were so luxurious and delicious. The highlight was the homemade bread. The bread, baked with wheat that the chef had blended after conducting his own research, was piping hot. It was so hot that I couldn't touch it, but I managed to spread butter on the crispy crust and it was incredibly delicious. The butter, also blended by the chef, was a perfect match for the bread. Just eating the bread alone was a delight. The fish dish was hokke. In Kanto, hokke is commonly associated with dried fish in izakayas, but the hokke here was sautéed to a crispy skin and had a slightly soft and fluffy texture, with amazing richness. The chef's recommended Americaine sauce was very rich and paired perfectly with the hokke's richness. For the meat dish, we ordered duck and beef to share a little of each. The duck was very tender and roasted, with a great richness. The Tokachi beef sirloin was also cooked to perfection. The meat's umami was richly locked in, and the robust brown sauce was incredibly delicious. Every dish was so delicious that I ended up adding more wine pairings. And the dessert was also fantastic. The harmony of matcha and strawberries was wonderful, and I left the lunch very satisfied. It was lunchtime, but the restaurant was full. If there is such a delicious French restaurant nearby, I might end up becoming a regular. I really found a wonderful restaurant. It was delicious (^。^) Thank you for the meal❣️
