Visited in August 2023. Ordered a Sapporo Classic draft beer (medium glass) for 580 yen, stir-fried menma for 300 yen, Zangi set meal with 2 pieces of chicken and 3 pieces of shumai for 960 yen, and a medium bottle of Sapporo beer for 630 yen. Total bill was 2,470 yen paid via PayPay at 18:41. Arrived at the restaurant at 19:00 and seated at 19:43. Finally finished and left at 19:33. The restaurant was crowded with a waiting line outside. The food was delicious, especially the Zangi chicken which was the highlight of the meal. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. Overall, a great dining experience.

Open 15 minutes before Saturday. No line at first, then 5 people lined up. The shop is located a few minutes from the Shiden Nishi 8-chome Station. The fried chicken is crispy and juicy like Karaage, and the size of each piece is big. When dipped in a tangy sauce, it transforms into a delicious dish similar to oil-drizzled chicken. It's tasty both on its own or with the sauce. The spicy mapo tofu with a hint of chili oil, which I hadn't noticed before, was incredibly delicious. I want to try the mapo noodles next time. It's a great restaurant with generous portions and high satisfaction, so I wish there was one nearby. Thank you for the meal.

When I come here, I always have to eat the Zangi and Mapo noodles! The Mapo noodles are still delicious as always, but the Zangi can be hit or miss. Sometimes it's really delicious, other times it's just okay. The size of the Zangi has also been inconsistent lately. I thought it had gotten a bit smaller, then it went back to its original size a few months ago, but now it seems to have shrunk again. It might be due to rising prices, but I wish they would go back to the old size and taste even if they have to raise the price a bit! The Zangi now is still delicious enough though.

Fukuro Lunch. 580 yen. I usually only see belly punches on the menu, so today I ordered the Fukuro Lunch to enjoy both the fried chicken and mapo tofu. It was delicious and satisfying, without the guilt of overeating afterwards. However, it may be a bit too small for those with a big appetite.笑

After work, when I feel like eating Chinese food, I tend to go to Fuhō as it has become a regular choice. On this day, I confirmed that I could sit at the counter and entered. I ordered the stir-fried pork with green peppers set meal. The green peppers and bamboo shoots were crispy, the meat was delicious, and the rice was so good. I feel like trying out all the dishes on Fuhō's menu now, haha.

In Sapporo, there is a famous shop known for its Zangi (fried chicken) called "Buhoto," which is a well-established Chinese restaurant. I arrived at the main store just before 12 o'clock. The place was almost full, but I was able to enter without waiting. I ordered two of their specialty dishes: Zangi and Mapo Ramen. The Zangi was made with chicken breast and was juicy and refreshing, especially delicious when eaten with the sauce like oil-drizzled chicken. The Mapo Ramen had a rich and flavorful seasoning that paired well with the noodles. It was delicious. It's no wonder this place is so popular, as there was already a line forming outside. It was a fantastic restaurant experience!

It had been 8 years since my last visit during the Obon holiday, so I was prepared for long lines, but luckily I was able to enter without waiting. Perhaps because they have opened more branches, the crowd seemed to be dispersed. Although their famous dish is the fried chicken, I ordered the specialty Ma Po Ramen for 940 yen. The Sapporo ramen had a unique firmness to the noodles, which were cooked even more al dente. On top of that, there was a generous amount of Ma Po tofu sauce covering the noodles. The sauce was so strong that the noodles couldn't even be lifted properly. After letting the noodles and sauce blend together for a while, I finally dug in. The Ma Po Ramen was exactly as expected, but the portion was so heavy that no matter how much I ate, it didn't seem to decrease. I wish they offered a smaller size option.

I visited the Hotei-san main store of Gyudon restaurant as my family was back in town. We were lucky to find seats without waiting in line. I ordered some zangi as it's a must-try, and enjoyed the mapo-men as our main dish. Thank you for the delicious meal! This restaurant in Sapporo's Chuo Ward supports business people and tourists, and I hope they continue to thrive!

Mapo noodles have firm noodles that are delicious when mixed with the mapo tofu. The portion size is generous and quite satisfying. The Zangi set meal also has a good amount of food. However, the Zangi, which is supposed to be fried chicken or tempura, lacks flavor and is greasy. Even dipping it in sauce doesn't help. It's not a good environment to eat ramen as just sitting on the chairs inside makes you sweat on hot days. Despite being a bustling and lively restaurant, it's puzzling.

It's a well-known famous restaurant that I had never been to before. When I went after work, there were about 10 people waiting in line, but when I asked how long the wait would be, they said, "You won't have to wait 30 minutes." In reality, we were seated in about 15 minutes. The fried chicken was big and delicious, perfect with drinks. The atmosphere of the restaurant was like a casual Chinese eatery, very nice. Many young people were also there, and there were several people coming in for takeout, making it very lively.

The long-established restaurant Hotei-san is famous for its oversized Zangi (fried chicken) and Mapo Tofu noodles. In addition to those, I also chose their homemade steamed dumplings. The Zangi was surprisingly good, not too greasy, and I could easily eat three pieces. The Mapo Tofu noodles were not particularly outstanding, but when I added pepper and Sichuan pepper oil to the whole dish, it leveled up instantly. After that, mixing in some vinegar made it delicious. A memorable evolution.

Zangi C set meal. 960 yen. 2 pieces of zangi, shumai, mapo tofu. Just the right amount of food, fully enjoyed. The zangi was freshly fried and piping hot, so delicious. I ate the shumai with plenty of mustard and finished everything. It's consistently delicious no matter when you eat it.

I used to often walk by this restaurant and noticed that it was always busy, so I decided to look it up and saw that the mapo noodles were recommended. I thought I should try it out, so I went the day before yesterday, but they were closed. I went back yesterday for revenge and they were open. I was seated at the counter right away since I was alone, and I ordered the mapo noodles and half-fried rice set. The tofu was spicy and delicious. Next time, I'll try the sweet and sour pork set or something different.

I visited for dinner and ordered the Mabo Men Half Fried Rice Zangi A set. The Mabo sauce coated the noodles perfectly and was delicious until the last bite. The fried rice had a simple salt flavor with a hint of smokiness. The Zangi had a crispy outer layer and juicy meat inside, with a light seasoning. Summer limited edition. Tomato cold ramen for 950 yen. I was surprised by the mountain of noodles, but there were four ice cubes buried in the middle, creating a mountain. It was still a large portion... The tomato flavor was strong and delicious. However, I was disappointed when the dipping sauce ran out at the end.

Coco is one of the top 100 restaurants on the 2023 Tabelog list, I didn't know that. I arrived a little before 12:00. There was no line outside, but there was a line inside. The seating area inside is under the stairs, so you have to bend your neck to sit. Waiting here is tough (laughs). I heard that the "Mapo Tofu" dishes and "Zangi" are famous here. Indeed, many people ordered the "Zangi". I finally got seated at 12:25, it was a longer wait than I expected (laughs). I ordered the "Mapo Men (940 yen)" and "Half Fried Rice (310 yen)". I wanted to try the "Zangi" but it was not possible this time. Maybe next time. But the guy next to me ordered the same as me plus 5 Zangi! Amazing! The dishes arrived together on a tray. I tried the Mapo Tofu first. It's not as spicy as I thought. A bit surprising. Despite its appearance, it's on the lighter side. It has a manageable level of spiciness, and you can enhance it with the table's sansho pepper if needed. So I added sansho pepper, vinegar, and garlic chips. Hmm, it's still not that spicy. The fried rice wasn't piping hot (ToT), which was a bit disappointing. The taste was just right though. I was expecting something more extreme, but it turned out to be quite traditional. The location is near a branch. If I have a chance to come nearby again, I'll visit.

The lunch options for office workers are limited. I visited the restaurant "Fuhou Main Store" on a weekday. I arrived around 12:15 PM and there were not many people waiting outside, so I decided to go in. The restaurant was crowded with customers. I was seated in a cool room with air conditioning. There were 3 male staff and 3 female staff working in the kitchen and on the floor. I ordered: - Mapo noodles with a side of small rice for 980 yen - 1 piece of Zangi (fried chicken) for 180 yen I prefer the spicier soup and noodles from the past, but the Mapo noodles at Fuhou are always good. I also wanted to try the Zangi, so I ordered one. Both the Mapo noodles and Zangi were delicious. Thank you for the meal! I will definitely come back again.

China cuisine restaurant, Hotei Honten, located a 3-5 minute walk from Nishi 8-chome Station, offers traditional Chinese dishes in a casual setting. Known for its generous and affordable set meals, this restaurant has been selected as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in 2021 and 2023. Despite having a large number of seats, the place gets crowded during lunch hours, with a fast turnover due to shared seating arrangements. We tried the Zangi B set meal, with fried rice instead of white rice, and 2 spring rolls. The portion of Zangi was surprisingly large, about the size of a woman's fist, and just 4 pieces were filling. The juicy chicken meat and fat oozing out with each bite was delightful. The fried rice complemented the Zangi perfectly, and the slightly spicy and thick Mapo tofu made us want to mix it with the rice. The hot spring rolls, which you can add more of, were also delicious. With such flavorful dishes at such reasonable prices (around 1,000 yen), it's no wonder this place is popular among office workers. Definitely worth a visit. Thank you for the meal!

This was my first time visiting the main store during the day. I really wanted to eat the mapo noodles and zangi, so I ordered 3 pieces of zangi. It was delicious as always. The ramen, mapo noodles, and zangi were all great, but I ended up sweating a lot. It was not crowded because it was before lunchtime. The space in the back of the first floor had good air conditioning.

It's been quite a while since my last visit. I parked at the coin parking across the street, which cost 600 yen. I arrived 5 minutes before opening and there were already 3 groups waiting in front of me. I was seated and ordered the mapo ramen and half fried rice. The dishes were served in less than 10 minutes. The portions were still generous as always. The mapo soup had a thick texture and was slightly spicy. It seemed to have less sweetness compared to before, but if you like spicy food, adding chili oil or pepper would be just right. The slightly firm twisted noodles paired well with the mapo flavor. Delicious! The fried rice was not too strong or too light, just right. The chashu was a tasty accent. Much better than fried rice from other ramen shops. Just with these dishes, I was already quite full. I couldn't order the zangi... I saw someone next to me having a set meal and it looked quite large, so it was a good decision not to order it. It might be safer to share when going with multiple people. They also have a good selection for takeout. It's a great restaurant.

The portions are quite generous. The Zangi has a crispy coating and juicy chicken meat. The Mapo Tofu is not too spicy and goes well with rice. It's a shame that the prices have gone up quite a bit.
