A small but popular soba restaurant in the rundown town of Tomakomai. The parking lot is about a 2-minute walk away on the same street. I've been here many times but this is my first review. The soba here is probably not hand-made, but it has a smooth texture and you can still taste the aroma of the soba. Jazz music plays in the background, there's an open kitchen, and the menu has some stylish soba options as well. It may not appeal to those who prefer the more traditional countryside-style soba, but I personally love both types! They also serve soba tea. I tried the "Sobahana Wind Mixed Meat Soba" for 1200 yen. It looked delicious as I had been watching someone next to me eat it. It comes with green onions, seaweed, tempura crumbs, seasoned beef, and an egg yolk. You mix it all together with the sauce on the side. It has a slightly spicy kick, probably from chili oil, and it's delicious. I wish there was a bit more meat for the price, but overall, it's still worth it. Lastly, you can mix rice into the leftover sauce, which was exceptionally tasty. Just like how you drink soba broth after eating soba, mixing rice into the remaining sauce enhances all the flavors and makes it incredibly delicious. I was worried if I could eat rice after having soba, but it turned out to be unnecessary worry. The overall satisfaction level of this restaurant is high, but one thing that bothered me was that all the female staff members, who were responsible for cooking, serving, and billing, were chatting a lot today. Whether it was just today or if it's a usual thing, the female staff members in the open kitchen were occasionally chatting about shifts and other things, even though they were wearing masks. It was a bit distracting, especially when dining alone at the counter in front of them. Usually, if there are two or more people, they seat you at the tables in the back, so it's not an issue then. Despite that, you can still enjoy delicious soba here, so I recommend it.
