I made a reservation just in case and enjoyed my favorite dishes as usual. I devoured the seasonal Maizuru Trigai and lean tuna with a sake pairing, as well as thick asparagus. Lastly, I requested mackerel sushi for myself and as a souvenir, and they kindly prepared one for me. It was a delightful time, even encountering unique tableware for the first time.

The Myrebi people were highly praised for their dinner, so I visited for lunch on the last day of my stay in Kyoto. There is a historic garden nearby that was truly breathtaking. The food was decent, but I felt a clean energy flowing through the land, which made the visit very pleasant. The relaxed atmosphere was also very enjoyable. While I thought the main purpose was to have a meal, the true purpose may have been different. I also felt the weight of history. Here are my thoughts on the meal: (0) The tea was decent and provided a comforting start. (1) The appetizer featured uni (sea urchin) and wasabi on top of yuba. The wasabi overpowered the taste of the uni, and the amount of wasabi could be reduced. The yuba had a slightly unusual smell, but it wasn't bad. (2) The sashimi included tai (sea bream) and katsuo (bonito). The katsuo had a murky taste, and the overall quality of the sashimi was not high. (3) The soup dish with aninome, green beans, and shiitake mushrooms was slightly sweet and delicious. This dish was the best part of the meal. (4) The grilled dish featuring nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) had little edible parts and lacked flavor. The saltiness was also insufficient. (5) The simmered dish included octopus eggs and various vegetables. The taste was interesting, with a sweet broth and a hint of sansho leaf flavor. (6) The vinegar dish with octopus, torigai (cockle), and shrimp had a mild taste of egg vinegar. (7) The meal also included red miso soup and pickles, which were average. Overall, the experience was not outstanding, but it provided an opportunity for a beginner like me to learn some cooking techniques. The chef was friendly and down-to-earth, which made the experience enjoyable.

The red leaves photo of Momoyama Goryo that I saw on Twitter was beautiful, so I wanted to visit it. However, I later realized that the photo was retouched. When I actually went there, it was all evergreen trees... How exaggerated. It was my first time visiting Momoyama Goryo. It was spacious and I didn't get bored walking around, but it was disappointing that the shrine was under repair. I walked around Momoyama Goryo, then looked at the fake-looking Momoyama Castle and visited the Teradaya associated with Ryoma. They charge admission at Teradaya. Well, that makes sense... I adjusted my schedule because I couldn't make a reservation on my preferred date, but it turned out there were no other customers that day, haha. It felt like they were doing lunch service as a side job during the night's preparations, but personally, I was grateful not to feel embarrassed, so that was nice. I thought the restaurant seemed good to begin with, and they actually do solid, reliable work. The cost performance is also good. It was quite cold that day, so I appreciated their consideration in choosing warming dishes like dobin mushi and ochazuke. What kind of broth do they use? It was a moderate taste, with no strong flavors, just a subtle umami. However, it was a bit too orthodox, so in terms of photo opportunities, it may not stand out for tourists. I kind of understand why restaurants that make it into the red guidebook are more likely to be creative ones. If the photo opportunities are high, you don't need as much explanation. I thought it was a casual restaurant tucked away in a shopping street, but it was actually a good, proper restaurant.

I want to eat what I like in my own way - Recommended for those who want to eat what they like I want to eat proper Japanese cuisine, seasonal dishes - Recommended for those who want to eat I want a sense of security in a private room - Also recommended for those who want This is a Japanese restaurant in Fushimi. I thought it might be more like an izakaya, but it turned out to be a proper restaurant. I've been wanting to visit this place for a while because you can enjoy seasonal dishes a la carte. Of course, I wanted to sit at the counter. But due to the risk of coronavirus, reducing risks has become the top priority. This place allows the use of private rooms even for small groups, so I visited using a private room. The staff at the restaurant are nice, and the food is authentic and excellent. The choice of tableware also shows elegance. Once the pandemic is over, I definitely want to come back and sit at the counter, chatting and enjoying the meal. Concerns arise from the menu without price listings, but the prices for alcohol are reasonable.

I still don't feel like daily life is returning to normal, but I was finally able to visit Mr. Tsuji, whom I had been looking forward to seeing. Even during the self-restraint period, he did not take a break and had a sign outside the shop saying "Corona is stupid!" - he is truly a passionate chef. We had a la carte dining, and he grilled fresh ayu right in front of us. It was delicious to taste the freshness of the fish that was lively just a moment ago. For the finale, we had the obligatory mackerel sushi. It was subtly sweet with a hint of salt, and the light seasoning made it delicious. I ate a lot and drank a lot - thank you for the wonderful meal!

It is not a cheap restaurant, so it may seem intimidating to make a reservation. However, they have started offering takeout, which makes it more casual. I reserved a Matsukado bento for 3000 yen excluding tax. The sashimi included kelp-cured sea bream and was of high quality. The fresh yuba and delicious dashimaki tamago added to the luxurious feel of the meal. I enjoyed it very much.

Located on Nakashima Island, there is a ryokan called Teraya, next to which is Tsuji Masashi. I had never noticed this place before, and I feel regretful about it. The menu changes daily. The recommended dish of the day was fugu shirako salad. The sashimi was also fresh and delicious. Kansai truly has its charms. I had local sake from Fushimi, called "Tsukasakura." It paired perfectly with the meal. I left the place with a lingering feeling and boarded the Shinkansen. Thank you for the wonderful meal. Thank you, see you next time.

I visited Tsujimasa, a small restaurant near the historic Teradaya, known for its seasonal fugu dishes. I had made a reservation after researching for a casual yet delicious dining experience in Kyoto. Located near the famous Teradaya in Fushimi Ward, the atmosphere was charming and welcoming. During the winter season, Tsujimasa offers a variety of fugu dishes, and I enjoyed dishes such as fugu sashimi, grilled fugu, grilled fugu liver, and fugu karaage. I also tried the authentic ankimo along with a glass of local sake, "Tsukasamikan Kyoto no Izumi." The chef at Tsujimasa was friendly and engaging, and we decided on the dishes together through conversation. Each dish was carefully prepared with the chef's personal touch, resulting in a delightful dining experience. While the individual dishes can add up in cost, there are also course menus available to suit different preferences. The ambiance of the restaurant was truly calming, and I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I finally had the opportunity to visit a traditional Japanese restaurant in Fushimi. I had tried their bento boxes before and was impressed by the serious and delicious cuisine. This time, I tried their 7000 yen course menu for dinner. We dined on the second floor at a traditional table. The meal included dishes like sea urchin sesame tofu, grilled fish, steamed dish, vinegar dish, and rice with eel. Every dish was well-prepared and satisfying, without any flashy presentation. I enjoyed the honest and delicious food at a reasonable price. I look forward to trying more dishes on the first floor next time. The sake was also delicious, but I think they could offer a wider selection. Overall, a great restaurant in Fushimi.

I visited several sake breweries, tasted seasonal limited edition sake, and walked around. I poured oil on the Jizo statue and made a wish. It was my first time experiencing this kind of Jizo statue. The streets of Fushimi have a quiet atmosphere, like stepping into a scene from a period drama. I tried to ride the Jikkokubune yakatabune boat, but I missed the last departure time. When I entered Choken-ji Temple, a temple that felt like it belonged in Taiwan, the priest asked me where I was from, and when I said "Yokohama," he gave me various explanations and then showed me a print that was a gift from Judy Ongg. It was a wonderful piece of art. As it was nearing 5 o'clock, I arrived at a shop where the reviewer Albo-san had been. It was a stylish entrance located at the second corner from Teradaya. It seemed like it hadn't been open for long since its renewal. The owner said, "You don't have a reservation, but please sit anywhere you like." The friendly owner and his wife welcomed me. I ordered two draft beers first. Appetizers were served. I ordered octopus, rolled omelette, awa-fu dengaku, simmered fish, sushi (medium fatty tuna x2, sea urchin x2), tekka maki, and kanpyo maki. I also ordered a bottle of sake halfway through. Even with this much order, the owner seemed busy. The rolled omelette and simmered fish were made in the back of the store. The rolled omelette had a light, beautiful color and was delicious. The simmered fish was slightly sweet and also tasty. The sushi was made with fresh ingredients. We chatted about my trip to Tokyo, and the owner's way of speaking was like listening to rakugo, making it an enjoyable conversation. The wife always had a smile on her face and was very pleasant. The elegant interior had a cozy counter seat. The owner's casual and unpretentious demeanor was welcoming, making it a place where you would want to stay longer. As more customers started to trickle in, I decided to leave. I will take the Shinkansen back to Yokohama, but I hope to visit again another time. Both the food and the conversation left me feeling satisfied. I would like to visit Fushimi again at a more leisurely pace. Thank you for the meal.

On this day, I visited Tsujimasa in Fushimi. It is located between Nakashima Island Station and Momoyama Goryo-mae Station, near Teradaya. This is a familiar traditional Japanese restaurant that I have known for many years. I decided to order a la carte dishes based on my appetite. I started with a glass of "Matsunosui" and enjoyed the following dishes: - Tai no ko (sea bream roe) served as an appetizer, a perfect dish for spring. - Assorted sashimi platter (sea bream from Awaji, medium fatty tuna, sea urchin from Rausu, turban shell from Mie, swordtip squid, and sliced raw fish), a delightful mix of various fresh seafood. - Firefly squid tempura, my favorite way to enjoy firefly squid. - Red clam, a dish with a wonderful aroma that lingers in the nose. - Wasabi flower, a must-have with its intense fragrance. The newly renovated interior of the restaurant is refreshing and inviting. I look forward to visiting again soon. Now, let's take a stroll around Otemichi Street.

I visited the traditional Japanese restaurant "Tsujimasa" in Fushimi. You can enjoy dishes that pair well with the elegant sake of Fushimi. - Atmosphere: Quiet and calm interior - Food: Kaiseki cuisine using seasonal ingredients - Price: Reasonable prices for the quality of food The 7-course meal costs 5000 yen and includes dishes like mountain vegetables, sashimi, and steamed dishes. The focus here is on highlighting the freshness and preparation of the ingredients. The pairing with Fushimi's elegant sake was excellent. The courses are gentle overall, with one dish being more substantial. It follows the traditional kaiseki style, emphasizing simplicity and quality ingredients. Additional dishes like simmered dishes, tempura, or hot pot can also be ordered a la carte. Overall, I spent 7000 yen for one person, including beer, sake, and the 7-course meal. I was very satisfied with the Kyoto atmosphere, quality of food, and reasonable prices.

I made a reservation after finishing work on a regular day. There were 2-3 groups of customers already, so it seemed busy. Since I don't go there often, I decided to order a la carte. I looked at the menu without prices. I started with sesame tofu and squid vinegar dish. It was luxurious with sea urchin on top. I switched to hot Kyoto sake. The octopus sashimi was thick and had a good texture. When I sent it to my acquaintance in Tokyo, they said it was unusually thick for Kansai style. Maybe it was a bit expensive. I also had steamed turnip with cod and eel. It mainly consisted of turnip with no intricate decorations. The red gurnard had a lot of fat, the most I've ever tasted. The daikon radish in front added a different flavor. The total bill was 8900 yen. I'm not sure if it was because of the quality of the ingredients. The prices are high because beer and sake are 500 yen each. If you want it cheaper, you should eat there in the middle of Kyoto city during the day. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious. I liked the calm and cheerful demeanor of the chef.

It was my first visit. We chose the 10,000 yen course for two people and then ordered a la carte. The good points of that day were that the course doesn't leave you feeling too full. The dishes included sea urchin, tofu skin, sea cucumber intestines, chawanmushi, sashimi of tuna, red tuna, medium fatty tuna, and sea bream, grilled blowfish, throat blackfish simmered, and sea bream with turnip. It was all very elegant. There were no fried foods or carbs. We decided to change things up and went to another nearby place to finish off. I forgot to try the fin sake. This is a great place for sake lovers. It's always busy. YaY

Had dinner with my parents at a restaurant on Ryoma Street in Fushimi. It's near Teradaya, which is famous in history. We ordered the chef's course with additional crab and sushi. The highlights were: boiled blowfish with vinegar soy sauce, swordtip squid sashimi, blowfish, fatty tuna, lean tuna, sea bream, ark shell, squid chawanmushi, grilled fish ovaries, turnip steamed dish, crab with eel, and specialty sushi from Tsuiyama Port near Kinosaki. This was my fourth visit and as always, the dishes made by the third-generation owner were delicious. The crab from Tsuiyama Port, which just started its season, was outstanding. It was a relaxing meal in a calm restaurant. My parents-in-law were also very pleased.

This restaurant stands out in this area for serving well-prepared dishes. The straightforward seasoning gives a sense of comfort and allows you to enjoy the food without any pretentiousness. While a 10,000 yen course for two people is fine, I personally prefer the 8,000 yen course because I tend to want to add more dishes. Of course, ordering a la carte and choosing your favorite dishes is also enjoyable, and they are willing to accommodate special requests as long as they have the ingredients.

Celebrating a birthday, we visited this restaurant for the first time! We made a reservation because the birthday person wanted Japanese food. The appetizers, sashimi platter, and sushi were all delicious and fresh! The fugu tempura was especially amazing with its thick meat. The simmered dish had a gentle flavor with added kabosu peel for a nice aroma. The only downside was that the staff seemed a bit busy and rushed. However, they still saw us off at the end and even gave us their business card. They also gave us 500 yen to cover our parking fee since we parked at a coin-operated parking lot! It was an overall fantastic experience from start to finish.
