I visited the ramen shop "Tsukemen Kirari" located right by Keihan Nakashojima Station. I went before the lunch rush, but when I left, there was already a line forming. It's definitely a popular spot. The thick and rich dipping soup that clings well to the noodles, you dip the noodles in the soup and slurp them up together. That's what real tsukemen is all about. It was incredibly delicious. No wonder there's a line. And the extra rice after finishing the noodles, it's really tasty. You must try it when you go. - Fish and pork bone tsukemen (regular/large same price) 1,000 yen - Fish and pork bone tsukemen with seaweed (regular/large same price) 1,150 yen - Fish and pork bone special tsukemen (regular/large same price) 1,350 yen - Homemade chili oil spicy tsukemen (regular/large same price) 1,100 yen - Homemade chili oil spicy with seaweed (regular/large same price) 1,250 yen - Homemade chili oil extra spicy tsukemen (regular/large same price) 1,450 yen - Homemade curry oil curry tsukemen (regular/large same price) 1,100 yen - Homemade curry oil curry with seaweed (regular/large same price) 1,250 yen - Homemade curry oil extra spicy curry tsukemen (regular/large same price) 1,450 yen - Limited shrimp tsukemen (regular/large same price) 1,100 yen - Limited shrimp with seaweed (regular/large same price) 1,250 yen - Limited special shrimp tsukemen (regular/large same price) 1,450 yen - Salted pork loin (regular/large same price) 900 yen - Salted pork chashu noodles (regular/large same price) 1,250 yen - 16-grain rice kirari rice 200 yen - 16-grain rice shimekirari rice 50 yen - TKK (egg-topped kirari rice) 250 yen - Flavored egg chashu bowl with egg topping 350 yen [Food received] - Fish and pork bone tsukemen 1,350 yen I was curious about the limited shrimp dipping and curry dipping, but since it was my first visit, I chose the basic "tsukemen." The soup is a thick fish and pork bone base, with a strong viscosity, adding depth to the soup with the addition of pork bone and fish flavors. This perfect thickness covers the surface area of the thick noodles, intertwining with the soup and becoming one. This is delicious! You won't be able to stop eating. [Overall assessment] I highly recommend this place. It perfectly matched my personal idea of what tsukemen should be, and the taste was exactly what I love. The noodles in the tsukemen are medium thickness and neatly arranged, making them visually appealing. The spicy char siu with black pepper accentuates the flavor and the dipping sauce is thick and coats the noodles well. The service is also good, with the calm and friendly owner adding to the pleasant atmosphere.

During the Obon period, I visited this popular ramen shop in Nakashima as a second stop for lunch. When I arrived around 12:30, there were 8 people waiting outside. I waited for about 25 minutes before being seated. The interior of the shop had a calm color scheme with a long space and 11 counter seats. I ordered the "Seafood Tonkotsu Tsukemen (regular) for 1000 yen". The homemade thick noodles had a chewy texture and smooth surface. They were slightly softer than I prefer, and the way they were rinsed with cold water felt a bit too mild. The dipping sauce was a blend of pork and seafood flavors, with a sweet and salty taste. The seafood added a subtle fragrance to the sauce, making it quite delicious. The toppings included pork belly, seasoned egg, seaweed, bamboo shoots, chopped green onions, and scallions. The pork belly was cut into chunks and soaked in the sauce, with a good balance of fat. Overall, it was a solid and reliable seafood tonkotsu tsukemen, but I wished it had a standout quality among the many similar options available.

I arrived around 11 o'clock and the parking lot was full, so I had to park at a nearby coin parking lot. I was able to find a spot on the first try. I ordered the regular (special) tsukemen and a chashu rice bowl. The tsukemen portion wasn't too big, but the thick noodles paired well with the rich soup. The chashu rice bowl was served with multigrain rice and the sauce complemented it nicely. Surprisingly, the amount of rice was quite generous.

Today, due to work, I happened to pass by Kyoto around lunchtime, so I decided to visit this place in the morning. Although the name of the restaurant includes "tsukemen," I actually love their ramen. I had decided to visit this place since morning. I ordered the "Chashu Ramen Large: 1250 yen," which used to be 1000 yen before. It's a tough world out there. I arrived around 12:20 on Friday. Last time I came, they had run out of ramen, but today it was all good. The ramen was served in about 10 minutes. It came with thin slices of chashu and some chunky chashu pieces. The chashu was rare and had just the right amount of fat. The thick menma (bamboo shoots) had a strong soy sauce flavor. As I was eating, I noticed that there was a hidden boiled egg behind the chashu, which made me feel like I got lucky. The Chashu Ramen has a lot of meat, so choosing the large portion was a good call, but it left me feeling stuffed. This place tends to have long lines on weekends, so weekdays are definitely the better option.

Visited at 10:50 am on a regular day and got the pole position. When lining up at the storefront, there was guidance for purchasing food tickets. It had been a while, so I was curious about the normal dipping noodles, but I chose the special curry dipping noodles (large) for 1450 yen. Looking back, the price has increased by 210 yen in 5 years. With the rise in prices, you can't eat for under 1000 yen anymore. By the time the store opened, there were already 3 customers waiting behind me. Before 11:30 am, it was almost full. Now, onto the dipping noodles after a long time. The noodles were thick and chewy. The curry had some spiciness to it. The chunks of chashu in the dipping sauce were the most delicious part. The separate plate of rare chashu was not to my liking. The bamboo shoots were okay. The service was very polite and likable. Despite being a popular shop, it felt like the kind of place you'd want to keep going back to and become friends with.

"Kirari" is a ramen restaurant located a 2-minute walk from Keihan Nakashojima Station. I visited the restaurant early and there was already a line forming. Due to the strong sunlight, I borrowed a parasol provided by the restaurant and waited in line. I ordered the "Curry Tsukemen Large" this time, which costs the same as the regular size. The noodles were chewy and had a delicious sweetness when eaten alone. The quality of the noodles was high. When dipped in the curry-flavored dipping sauce, it was thick and rich. The base of the dipping sauce had a seafood flavor, but the curry flavor was more prominent. The perfect level of spiciness added a nice touch, and the combination of the noodles and dipping sauce was quite good. The noodles were topped with seasoned egg, bamboo shoots, and seaweed, and the dipping sauce also had green onions and a round slice of chashu pork. The bamboo shoots were soaked in a soy sauce-based marinade, and the seasoned egg had a slightly runny yolk with a soy sauce marinade. Personally, I really enjoyed the curry flavor. I look forward to trying a different menu item on my next visit.

Arrived at 12:30. There were 2 groups waiting ahead of me. I bought my ticket first and waited for about 15 minutes before I could enter the shop. After entering, I waited for about 15 minutes before my tsukemen arrived. I ordered the extra large tsukemen for 1350 yen. The dipping sauce was rich and delicious, the bamboo shoots were large and tasty, and the chashu was also delicious. The chashu was served separately on a plate and was also in the dipping sauce. The chashu in the dipping sauce was thick and very tasty.

The noodles in the first bite are delicious. The special toppings like separate plates of chashu and extra thick menma are piled high. Menma and boiled eggs are also available as additional toppings for the noodles. There are 5 slices of chashu, but there are also stick-shaped pieces in the marinade. I like to soak everything in the marinade, so there is very little left at the end, but the soup is rich and flavorful for dipping. It truly feels like a popular and highly rated restaurant. Even though we avoided the lunch rush, there was still a wait of 5 people. I didn't realize there were 3 parking spaces in the narrow alley next to the restaurant! I had been circling around for a while without noticing them.

Drip, drip, the rain falls gently on a chilly day. On days like this, when you feel a bit down, why not seek some excitement and try out "Tsukemen Kirari"! Located just a few minutes' walk from Naka-Nijima Station in Kyoto, it's perfect for a rainy day when you don't feel like walking too much. From the outside of the shop, you can already feel the energy coming out! Lately, I've been exploring more "stylish" and "modern" ramen shops, so the bright and cheerful facade of Kirari was a nice change of pace! The bright mix of bricks and the large sign really lifts your spirits. Even though it was raining, I thought it would be empty, but to my surprise, there were already 15 people waiting in line before the shop even opened! Good thing I arrived early. The interior has long counter seats only. The menu is simple and easy to understand, which is nice. My partner ordered the "Tsukemen" and I ordered the "Spicy Tsukemen." The visual of the Spicy Tsukemen was striking! Bright red chili peppers, homemade chili oil, half a boiled egg, thick menma, seaweed, and a full set of chashu. The thick, glossy noodles were chewy and delicious. The spicy soup was intense and flavorful, making it hard to stop eating! Although I'm not a big fan of spicy food, this dish had a good balance of heat and flavor that kept me coming back for more. I enjoyed every bite, even though I was a bit choked up at times. When I want to feel refreshed, give myself a pep talk, or just need a boost of energy, I'll definitely be back! Thank you for the meal!

It's been a while since I last came here, but the best thing about this place is definitely the option to add extra spiciness to the spicy tsukemen! Being able to enjoy both the regular and spicy flavors at the same time, and being able to change the taste throughout the meal, keeps it from getting boring. The egg-like, wheaty noodles and the top-tier, thick fish and pork bone dipping soup go incredibly well together. The chili oil seems to have a hint of cashew nuts added for flavor, and adding a little bit more of it for a taste change is incredibly delicious! If you put all of it in at the beginning, the oil film will be too much and the chili oil will be too overpowering, so adding a little bit at a time is recommended. I don't usually do this, but mixing the leftover dipping soup with some hot water at the end is surprisingly tasty. I can't eat too much of it, but the fact that the large size is free is a nice touch for those who want to eat a lot. The extra rice (small) is also only 50 yen. It's a bit pricey at 1,100 yen, but I justify it by considering the cost of the parking which is free for 3 cars. I love this place so much that I even buy the chilled version to take home sometimes, sending it to my parents' house or bringing it as a souvenir for friends to introduce them to it.笑笑

Today I went on a noodle adventure in Kyoto♪ I came to Nakakoshima and found a popular restaurant called Tsukemen Kirari, just a 5-minute walk from the station. When I arrived 30 minutes before opening, there was already one customer ahead of me. 10 minutes before opening, I purchased my meal ticket from the machine. I chose the regular tsukemen, while my companion went for the spicy tsukemen. In about 10 minutes, our tsukemen arrived. The noodles were thick and glossy, topped with half a boiled egg, bamboo shoots, and seaweed. The rich dipping sauce contained slices of pork chashu. With the first bite, the thick and flavorful fish and pork bone dipping sauce combined perfectly with the thick noodles, making it incredibly delicious. Although we were instructed to add sudachi vinegar from the table, we forgot because it was already so tasty. We enjoyed it with soup refills and left the restaurant completely satisfied. Surprisingly, the price for regular and large portions is the same, which is great for those with big appetites. By the time we left, a line had formed outside the restaurant. It's no wonder, given how delicious the noodles were!

I visited "Tsukemen Kirari" again, which is located a 2-minute walk from Keihan Nakashojima Station. I planned to pass by during the opening hours on a rainy day to avoid the usual lunchtime queues. Last time, I ordered the popular "Fish and Pork Bone Tsukemen Large" which is the same price as the regular size. This time, I upgraded to the "Special Fish and Pork Bone Tsukemen Large". The special option comes with rare chashu, boiled egg, menma, and rice to finish off the meal. The rare chashu, made from shoulder loin cooked at a low temperature, pairs perfectly with the dipping sauce. The noodles were chewy and had a hint of sweetness, indicating high quality. The dipping sauce was rich and creamy, with a well-balanced blend of heavily simmered pork bone broth and a strong seafood flavor. Toppings included flavored egg, menma, and seaweed, along with green onions and tender chashu in the dipping sauce. The menma was soaked in a soy sauce-based marinade, while the egg had a semi-solid yolk with a hint of aging, soaked in soy sauce. The menu also offered options to add sudachi vinegar or fresh garlic to alter the flavor. Overall, the meal was delicious, and I look forward to trying a different menu item on my next visit.

I went to "Tsukemen Kirari," located a 2-minute walk from Keihan Nakashojima Station. This popular Kyoto tsukemen shop always has a long line during lunchtime, so I was lucky to pass by during opening hours and decided to go in. The shop is known for its fish and pork bone tsukemen, and they close once the soup runs out. I ordered the specialty "Fish and Pork Bone Tsukemen - Large." The noodle portion comes in regular (200g) and large (300g) sizes. The noodles were chewy and had a delicious sweetness to them. When dipped in the soup, it was thick and rich, typical of tsukemen, but not overwhelming, making it easy to keep eating. The noodles were topped with flavored egg, bamboo shoots, and seaweed, and the soup also had green onions and a round slice of chashu. The menu mentioned to "adjust the amount of dipping to your liking," but I personally preferred to dip all of it! You can also change the flavor with sudachi vinegar or fresh garlic. After finishing the noodles, there was some soup left, so you can add extra soup from the table to enjoy different flavors until the end. It was my first time finishing the soup in a tsukemen!

Visited "Tsukemen Kirari" in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City. Located about 200m north of Keihan Main Line Nakashojima Station North Exit. Visited on Saturday at 1 pm with a wait of 3 people outside. Purchased a ticket from the ticket machine inside the store before lining up. Selected the "Special Tsukemen Large" for 1,350 yen. Was seated promptly after going outside for a moment, in a cozy interior with about 12 L-shaped counter seats. The air was filled with a rich aroma of fish broth that stimulated the empty stomach. On the table were condiments like sudachi vinegar, pepper, shichimi, and garlic, with extra soup already in a pot. There was also a microwave for reheating near the entrance. The house-made thick noodles were not overly firm, closer to body temperature. They had a fresh, chewy texture and a rich wheat flavor, very delicious. The thick dipping sauce had an intense umami and depth of flavor extracted from pork bones and fish, leaving a lasting impression. Though a widely known pork bone and fish broth flavor, the delicious ones are truly delicious. Topped with half an egg, menma, and seaweed, the noodles also had diced chashu and finely chopped onions and green onions in the sauce. The chashu on a separate plate was very moist, with black pepper enhancing the meat's flavor. The thick, crunchy bamboo shoot and flavorful marinated egg showcased the careful preparation. The dipping sauce clung well to the noodles, leaving just a bit at the end. Added a bit of the extra soup, sprinkled some sixteen-grain rice, and it was a delicious finish. Thank you for the meal.

First, when you eat the thick noodles, they are very chewy and delicious! Next, dipping the moderate noodles in the broth brings out the umami of the seafood, making it even more delicious! Then, when you pour the sudachi vinegar on the noodles, it adds a refreshing flavor. Finally, when you add the soup base to the broth and drink it, it surprisingly tastes light, and I couldn't help but finish all the broth.

Continuing in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto Prefecture. I only bought some arare, so now I'm thinking about where to have lunch. I took a stroll around the vicinity of Fushimi-Jukkoku boat, and there were some areas that felt like tourist spots with shops lined up. I had a few places listed, but suddenly felt like having tsukemen, so I changed my plans. I arrived at a shop that had high ratings on Tabelog. It seemed to be a popular spot with a line of over ten people when I got there, and more people kept lining up behind me, so it seems like a good place. I ordered the classic fish and pork bone tsukemen. The menu also had curry tsukemen, but I wanted to keep it simple with just the tsukemen. Since the regular and large sizes were the same price, I went for the large. The thick noodles were easy to slurp up, and the dipping sauce had a refreshing taste. I added some sudachi vinegar halfway through, as I like to add sudachi or lemon to cold udon. It was delicious.

Fushimi Ramen Rally 9th stop. Fish broth dipping noodles large size for 1000 yen. It's the season to visit this place. The cherry blossoms have started to bloom, attracting visitors from other prefectures and countries. The parking lot is located to the south of the shop, but it's hard to find a spot, so it's recommended to look for a nearby coin parking lot. Street parking is not allowed. I usually go for the large size since the price is the same. If you like dipping noodles, I recommend going for the special version without hesitation. It may seem a bit pricey, but it's worth it. The fish broth tonkotsu dipping noodles are common, but the noodles here are different from others. I also suggest trying the sudachi vinegar in the second half of the meal. This place is well-known for its dipping noodles, but my personal recommendation is the takeaway meat buns! There is a separate shop for the meat buns, so if you have the stomach and budget for it, I recommend trying both.

Salt Tonkotsu Ramen 800 yen Achievement Donburi (Ramen Rally Achievement Coupon) ↑ Miso Cheese Chashu Donburi Weekday 10:50 am. Although it opens at 11:00 am, there were 3 people waiting. After that, 5 more people arrived. Today, I have work in the afternoon, so I decided to have lunch at Kirari before that. I also used the Ramen Rally coupon. The special offer at Kirari seems to be the Achievement Donburi! The Salt Tonkotsu Ramen has a light seafood pork bone flavor, with a hint of seafood broth remaining in the soup, making it delicious! On the other hand, the Miso Cheese Chashu Donburi is very rich and the cheese is grilled, giving it a deliciously fragrant taste! Other customers were also achieving the Ramen Rally, and all the staff at the restaurant congratulated them! It's a great place! Personally, I prefer the tsukemen over the ramen! Thank you for the meal.

"Tsukemen Kirari" in Fushimi, Kyoto, offers the best ramen in the area. The dipping sauce is rich, slightly sweet, and has a subtle sesame fragrance. The thick noodles lack firmness, which is a common trait in Kansai-style udon. Adding garlic transforms the sauce into a powerful flavor. The spicy tsukemen has a generous amount of chili oil, so it may not be suitable for those who dislike oily dishes.

I arrived around 13:00 and was fortunate enough to be seated without much of a wait. It was my first time visiting, so I chose the popular Fish and Pork Bone Special Dipping Noodles. The flavor of the fish was strong, and the richness of the pork bone was delicious. The dipping sauce contained green onions and diced chashu. The special set came with thinly sliced chashu, a boiled egg, menma, and a small portion of rice on the side. The chashu in the dipping sauce was tender and flavorful. The thin chashu slices were also tender and tasty. The egg and menma were included in the regular set, so the special set felt a bit more luxurious. The noodles were medium-thick and had a nice chewiness to them. There seemed to be a good amount of noodles, but they were so good that I finished them quickly. The larger portion is the same price, so it's a good deal for those with big appetites. I was lucky enough to try the Shrimp Dipping Noodles, which are limited to 15 servings per day. The shrimp flavor was rich and concentrated, with a strong and delicious aroma. It stood out among other shrimp-flavored dishes. Both the Fish and Pork Bone and Shrimp Dipping Noodles were rich and coated the noodles well, making them very tasty. The dipping sauce was served warm, not piping hot, and the noodles were cold, so it seems the style here is to eat them lukewarm. They have a microwave available if you prefer them hot. The prices are a bit high, but the delicious food made me want to visit again.
