Daikubo's Bajeko Sekuwa Garu for Dal Bhat. It's been a while since I visited Daikubo Nepal. I haven't been able to go to Daikubo recently, and Bajeko Sekuwa Garu was on my to-do list. There are three restaurants with Sekuwa Garu in their name - Sekuwa Garu, Gaule Restaurant & Sekuwa Garu, and Bajeko Sekuwa Garu. Finally, I was able to visit all three. The world of Sekuwa Garu is deep! By the way, Sekuwa Garu means "grilled skewers" and "home or hometown" in Nepali. Bajeko Sekuwa Garu recently moved within Daikubo and is now only 5 seconds away from the station. Too close. And the main attraction, Dal Bhat. Dal Bhat is a Nepali set meal consisting of dal (bean soup) and bhat (rice). It also comes with main curry, achar, and various other side dishes. And all this for about 600 yen with free refills - amazing! This time, I chose the B set with a drink and ordered mutton curry. The drink, of course, was lassi. Perfect! And it arrived. This is it! Dal Bhat! Basmati rice, mutton curry, dal soup, tarkari, achar, vegetables. First, remove all the dishes from the thali (large plate) and katari (small plate) before starting to eat! First, the dal. It's like Nepali miso soup. The dal here is delicious! It's moderately spicy and easy to drink. It goes well with rice. The mutton curry is reliably delicious. It's full of meat chunks. This is top-notch. Really delicious. The tarkari is a spiced stir-fried vegetable dish with lots of potatoes, and it's delicious! It goes well with the curry! You can have as many refills as you want, and what's amazing about Bajeko is that normally, you can't have refills of the main curry or if you can, it's only the soup without the ingredients. But here, they let you have refills of the meat as well! That's incredible service! I'm grateful. Finally, I mixed everything together and enjoyed it to the last bite. Be careful with refills, as you might end up too full. When you ask for a refill of rice, they bring a big plate and keep adding until you say stop, but it's a tradition that even after you say stop, they might add more. Be careful. When I went, there weren't many Nepalis, so I couldn't feel the local atmosphere, which was disappointing, but later, when local people and people from Bangladesh arrived, I was able to enjoy the foreign atmosphere. This is the best of Daikubo Nepal! It was amazing!
