I made a reservation two weeks ago, but the time slot I wanted was not available so I booked for 1:00 pm. When I visited, I was told that reservations are necessary on weekends. I arrived at the reserved time and was seated on the second floor. As a first-time visitor, the staff explained the dishes to me. I started with ordering a beer and was served a plate of 12 types of pickled vegetables. I enjoyed sipping my beer while looking at the explanation sheet for the pickled vegetables. Everything was delicious. I then added some sake and fermented lemonade sour. The seasonal vegetable soup of the day was made with leeks. It was a cold soup with a hint of leek fragrance. The seasonal pot rice was corn and bacon rice, which was cooked to my liking - slightly firm and very tasty. The staff was very friendly. I will definitely go back if I have the chance.

Located near Higashi Honganji Temple, this specialty store offers a variety of pickled vegetables. It is highly recommended to make a reservation in advance due to its popularity. The lunch menu includes pickled vegetables, rice cooked in a pot, and vegetable soup. The pickled vegetables are mixed with ingredients such as prosciutto and cheese, creating a unique dining experience that I have never had before.

It was a two-story shop with a youthful atmosphere. The staff's customer service was also fantastic. The taste of the vegetables was good. In particular, the rare cheese in the photo was very delicious, and I ended up having seconds. It was a great restaurant where you can use the ingredients in various ways.

When I went on a day trip to Kyoto and decided to have a meal before heading back, I happened to come across this restaurant and decided to visit. Even though I didn't have a reservation, they kindly seated us. We had been walking around looking for a place to eat, so we were very grateful. The dishes we ordered were a platter of 3 types of pickled vegetables, caprese with tomatoes marinated in white wine and freshly made tofu skin, tofu skin rolled in soy milk dashi, Kyoto pork shoulder roasted in miso, stir-fried salad kale and beef tendon in sweet and spicy sauce, and sake kasu raisin butter sandwich. As a vegetable lover, I was thrilled with all the dishes! They were healthy yet had flavors that went well with alcohol, and I was completely satisfied!! I wish there was a branch nearby, so please consider opening a store in Kobe as well.

The atmosphere, taste, and the staff's service were all great. I ordered a platter of cucumber with shiso pickles, shirasu yam with wasabi stem pickles, bonito tataki with crispy okra pickles, and drooling chicken, as well as mixed rice and chicken with Saikyo miso marinade. Each dish was flavorful, not overwhelming, and well-balanced. It was all very enjoyable!

The concept of a izakaya specializing in pickles was innovative, and the dishes were all very delicious. The staff was friendly and energetic, and there was nothing to complain about. The pricing of the dishes felt high quality yet reasonable. No wonder this place is thriving. Recommended dishes include a pickled trio, okra with drool-inducing chicken, yam stem with wasabi pickles and seared bonito, cucumber with shiso pickles and boiled whitebait, white wine pickled tomatoes with silky tofu caprese, spicy miso-marinated Tanba chicken steak, shiitake and conger eel tempura simmered rice, and tomato and water octopus namul.

I was able to try a variety of dishes in small portions and it was great! Despite looking healthy, I felt satisfyingly full. My favorite was the corn and bacon rice dish! It had a delicious flavor that made me want to keep eating. Reservations are a must when visiting!

Utilized situation: Lunch
Visual impression: Very sophisticated and stylish
Staff: The staff were very friendly and considerate, which made me feel good.
Food: The food was even better than expected. Although pickles were the main focus, each ingredient complemented each other well, and I was very satisfied. It was like a Spanish tapas assortment, which paired nicely with rice.
Other: The beer and alcohol options also looked delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had been curious for a long time and finally was able to visit. I had my first drink alone, but the atmosphere of the restaurant and the staff were warm, and I was able to relax. The food and the sake recommended to me were also very delicious. I will definitely stop by again when I visit Kyoto.

All the dishes were delicious, elegant, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was comfortable without being too formal. The staff were all friendly and seemed to be students working part-time, but they worked with a smile and were very pleasant. They kindly recommended menu items and I was very satisfied. The wines and Isobe beer they offer all had a refreshing taste that paired well with the food. It seems like a great place for a date or a girls' night out.

I miraculously managed to get a same-day reservation, but due to a previous booking, we were told we could only stay for an hour and a half. The Isoya group, where I dined, is usually fully booked in advance, so I recommend making a reservation about a week ahead of time. For those who want to visit on weekends, it's best to reserve even earlier. Regardless, Isoya group restaurants never disappoint, so you can feel confident going. The food isn't outstanding, but it's perfect for enjoying various drinks and snacks. The staff are all cheerful and efficient, making the experience pleasant, although they can be a bit too lively, making it hard to hear conversations with companions as the only downside.

I have visited a few times, but on this day I was drinking elsewhere and still not satisfied, so I decided to call without a reservation as a last resort, and surprisingly they were able to accommodate us. I have visited various restaurants in the Isogawa group, and I think all of them excel in atmosphere, taste, and service. This time was no exception, the food was delicious as always.

The other day, I went to a restaurant for lunch in Kyoto. It's a place known for delicious vegetables, and I made a reservation because I heard there was a restaurant near Kyoto Station that specializes in pickled vegetables. They serve various dishes made with vegetables pickled in different seasonings. The food was tasty and it was fun to try different flavors. The soy milk-based soup and vegetables were also delicious. I thought it would be perfect to have with a highball in the evening, even though it was just lunch. However, the rice was disappointing. The corn rice cooked in a clay pot was tasty, but it was so hard that it felt like there was still a core in it. I wish the rice had been cooked a bit softer.

The other day during my walk in Kyoto, I came across this shop that caught my eye. It was my first visit. For lunch, the only option was a set meal that included a platter of 12 types of pickled vegetables, seasonal pot rice, and seasonal vegetable soup. The seasonal pot rice was bacon and corn flavored. The seasonal vegetable soup was a cold soy milk-based soup. The 12 types of pickled vegetables included tomato marinated in white wine with soy milk rare cheese, sweet potato marinated in turmeric soy sauce with walnuts, cabbage and celery, orange marinated in ham and burdock, sesame miso marinated in steamed chicken and mushrooms, shiso soy sauce marinated in Kyoto tofu and myoga, sweet vinegar marinated in pork shabu-shabu and yam, stem wasabi marinated in mimosa cheese and komatsuna, spicy miso marinated in octopus and water spinach, Matsumae marinated in squid noodles and turnips, honey ginger marinated in mackerel and pumpkin, cranberry marinated in cottage cheese and spring onions, sake lees miso marinated in firefly squid, and on this day, smoked salmon. Although it was a weekday, the shop was closed, so I indulged in a forbidden lunch beer. I added a bottle of "ISOBE" beer (Weizen style) which is said to pair well with vegetables. The conclusion? We can enjoy beer in such a healthy way! I declared. This is the kind of great place I want to introduce to my female friends. It seems like I've become a bit more stylish than yesterday. Thank you for the meal.

Based on a friend's recommendation, I arrived at the restaurant at 8:00 PM without a reservation. I was told there would be a 15-minute wait, so I decided to wait. The staff were very friendly! The vegetable dishes were creative and there were many options, all of them delicious. The prices were reasonable, the atmosphere was nice, and I definitely want to go back.

Isoism, a famous restaurant in Kyoto known for its pickled vegetables, is conveniently located near Kyoto Station. I made a reservation for 6:00 PM on a weekday and visited. Here is a summary of what we ordered and enjoyed:
- Mulberry Vinegar Soda
- Weiss Sour
- Craft Beer
- Recommended pickled vegetables platter with 3 varieties: The celery with shirasu added a nice flavor, while the hollow-stemmed vegetable and pike conger were delicious as expected. The burdock was flavorful, and the moist drooling chicken was tender and tasty.
- Grilled shiitake mushrooms with yuzu pepper: The saltiness was just right, and it was delicious.
- Beef-wrapped rare cutlet: A must-try dish that everyone seemed to order. The vegetables inside varied, and this time it was asparagus. The cutlet was crispy, the meat was tender and flavorful, and the sauce was incredibly delicious.
- Camembert cheese and seasonal fruit (kiwi) on crackers: A delightful combination with the kiwi fruit. The baked camembert was creamy, and the kiwi added a refreshing touch.
- Chicken curry flavored with chicken bones: Surprisingly delicious with a crispy texture from double frying.
- Sake lees raisin butter sandwich: A unique and tasty treat with a hint of sweetness and a crumbly texture.
- Scooped yuba and vanilla ice cream: A delightful dessert with a perfect blend of yuba and vanilla ice cream, topped with black honey and kinako.
The total bill for two people was around ¥8400. I look forward to returning for the rare cutlet and trying the rolled omelette and mixed rice next time!

During Golden Week, I went on a trip to Kyoto that I had planned beforehand. I mainly visited shrines and other sightseeing spots at a relaxed pace, almost like an unplanned trip. On the first night of my stay in Kyoto, my companion had made a reservation for this izakaya restaurant. It seemed to be quite famous in Kyoto, so I was looking forward to visiting. When I entered the restaurant and told the staff my reservation name, they kindly escorted me to a table on the second floor. They immediately brought me a glass of water and a wet towel, and then proceeded to explain the recommended menu items. Although all the options were enticing, I decided to order the following items since I still had more plans for the night:
- Assorted pickled vegetables (3 types)
- Corn fritters
- Clay pot white rice
The pickled vegetables were a signature dish that changed with the seasons. The dishes included "matsukaze" pickled watercress with boiled whitebait, ginger soy sauce pickled arugula with seared bonito, and sesame miso pickled burdock root with drool-inducing dried bonito. They were all delicious and paired perfectly with rice. The corn fritters were a classic menu item that the staff recommended, and they were absolutely delicious with their sweet and crispy texture. The clay pot white rice was cooked to perfection, with shiny grains and a crispy burnt rice crust that added a delightful contrast in texture.
For dessert, I ordered the "adult's chocolate banana ice cream" and the "dashi-infused tofu with vanilla ice cream." Both were recommended by the staff and were not overly sweet, with refreshing flavors. The chocolate banana ice cream was a crowd-pleaser with its generous amount of banana and banana chips, while the tofu-infused vanilla ice cream had a surprising twist with the addition of tofu skin in the ice cream.
Out of all the dining experiences I had in Kyoto, this restaurant stood out as the best in terms of both taste and service. The staff's hospitality was exceptional, and I left the restaurant feeling extremely satisfied. It seemed popular not only among locals but also among tourists, as there were many foreigners dining there. I will definitely make a point to visit this restaurant again whenever I travel to Kyoto.

I used the restaurant for dinner during Golden Week. It is about a 15-minute walk north from Kyoto Station. Since I had made a reservation in advance, I was able to sit smoothly. Reservations are required on weekends and holidays. Many of the staff are student part-timers, and their customer service was good. It was heartwarming to see the good relationship between the staff. We ordered various dishes, and the dashimaki was voluminous and delicious. The grilled shiitake mushrooms and assorted dishes were also delicious, with flavors that paired well with alcohol. There were also meat dishes, but I was too full to try them...

I made a reservation for Sunday at 7:45 pm. Those without a reservation will be turned away, but if you're lucky, you might be guided to a canceled spot! There were more dishes than I expected, so ordering too many made it hard to finish them all. The banana highball is delicious with lots of frozen bananas in it! It was a counter-style setup, but the staff were all lovely and created a lively atmosphere. My favorite was definitely the homemade rum raisin ice cream! 😂

I have always wanted to visit this restaurant. I bought their pickled vegetables online and they were delicious, so I wanted to try them at the restaurant as well. They serve the pickles with pork shabu-shabu, and it goes well with the pork. The pickled vegetables have a gentle flavor, while the stir-fried dishes have a strong flavor. I would like to go back again since the vegetables may change depending on the season.
