During the first three days of the New Year, it has become a tradition to visit "THE HAMBURGER" in Kitayama, Kyoto. The staff always greet you with a smile when you arrive at the shop, so this time I decided to take a photo from across the park (Daimon Park). I'm glad I brought my zoom lens. In 2022, THE HAMBURGER made a big decision and changed the patty to use black wagyu beef and switched to a smash patty starting in November. I had been wanting to try it since hearing this news, and finally my wish came true. I ordered "THE American" without tomatoes and lettuce, and the "Oklahoma Onion Burger" without vegetables. I think if you want to directly taste the deliciousness of the patty, skipping the vegetables is the best way to go. I ordered a homemade ginger ale as my drink and sat at the counter to wait. First, I tried THE American. The huge smash patty is topped with fried onions, cheese, bacon, pineapple, and jalapeños. One thing to note is that this burger is served piping hot. Because there are no vegetables, there is nothing to cool it down, so it stays hot throughout. The smash patty is slightly larger than the bun, and the edges are crispy. The sweetness of the onions comes through well, and just when I thought about the deliciousness and sweetness, the tanginess of the relish and pineapple, and the spiciness of the jalapeños hit. It's a bit of a strong balance with a kick, but for those who like it (including myself), it could become addictive. On the other hand, the Oklahoma Onion Burger has a double or triple patty to start with. The overall composition includes grilled onions, cheese, buns, and aioli sauce. This burger is a bit hotter, possibly due to the double patty. The style involves cooking the smash patty with finely chopped onions to give it a caramelized finish, following the Oklahoma style. The sweetness of the onions and the umami of the beef blend together in the patty. The garlic in the aioli sauce plays a mysterious role in enhancing the appetite as you eat. It's a high level of completion! While I recommend the regular hamburgers, if you want to enjoy the new smash patty, I suggest trying the Oklahoma Onion Burger or THE American!

Bacon cheeseburger with onion rings and homemade ginger ale is a one drink minimum. The homemade ginger ale is light, which may seem odd at first, but when paired with the burger, it balances out the richness perfectly. The bacon cheeseburger is made with high-quality ingredients like homemade bacon and wagyu beef patty, offering a variety of flavors. The cheese is gooey and melts perfectly. The bun is delicious and soft. Although the burger is thick, each ingredient is tender and has a good bite, making it easy to eat even for those with a small mouth. However, the bacon cheeseburger had so many flavors that it was a bit overwhelming. A simpler burger might have been better. The onion rings were crispy and had a junky yet organic taste. The onions in the rings melted in the mouth, making it hard to distinguish what you were eating. But I enjoyed this unique touch. The portion of onion rings was on the smaller side. Overall, the restaurant offers a variety of burger options and has a distinct personality.

There was a burger shop in an unexpected place! It was empty on a Saturday before 1 pm. They explained that you can only have one drink inside the shop. I ordered the standard hamburger, cheeseburger, potato set, cola, and oolong tea. They seemed to cook the food after I ordered. The woman at the counter was talking a lot and even did some unique fortune-telling. Some customers ordered and then went shopping. The burgers were served on plates or in burger bags. The potato was addictive, be careful! I'm not good at eating burgers, but the burger was delicious and meaty. The cheeseburger, potato, and drink cost around 1500 yen. I wish it was a bit more cost-effective so I could come back again... Hmmm.

I don't come to Kyoto often, but my sister wanted to eat a hamburger so we made the trip. We arrived around 11:30 and although there were seats available, many people were getting takeout or eating with their children in the nearby park. It seemed like a lot of people had pre-ordered as well. The hamburger was juicy, but the patty seemed a bit thin. I ordered the double cheeseburger with onion rings and fries. The burger was delicious as expected, but the fries were also really tasty, which was a bonus. The taste and atmosphere were both great!

I wanted to try the Smash Patty, so I visited THE HAMBURGER. The Smash Patty had a crispy exterior with a juicy inside, and it was delicious. The Oklahoma Onion Burger had a strong flavor from the patty. The Cheeseburger had a balanced taste with lettuce and tomato. Even though it said a 20-minute walk from Kitaoji Station on Tabelog, it actually took 30 minutes when I checked on the map.笑

I had a double cheeseburger. In the park, many children are playing, but I also innocently took big bites. The meat is the main focus here, without relying on sauce. The thin, crispy fries are also good.

I went again because it was delicious last time. This time, I had a cheeseburger. I indulged in a large size of fries by myself. It was really delicious. I went for lunch this day, but by the time it was past 1 o'clock, they were already sold out. It seems to be popular.

I felt like eating a delicious hamburger, so I went to a bright restaurant with impressive staff. I placed my order and paid right after entering. I chose the Double Cheeseburger. It was a thick burger with a lot of volume. The beef was cooked with a strong flavor and juiciness, making it very delicious. The crispy French fries were also tasty. Overall, it was a very satisfying restaurant.

I went to the restaurant on Sunday right after it opened! There was only one person waiting for a takeout order, so I was able to enter right away and the dining area was empty. First, I had to choose from the menu, pay, and then sit down. As a new customer (and I was too), I couldn't decide what to eat quickly, so it was a bit difficult. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, onion rings, and a drink. My husband also ordered a burger, onion rings, and a drink, and the total came to 3780 yen for the two of us. It was quite expensive, right? The taste was really to my liking, the potato fries were crispy, and the onion rings were delicious! However, I didn't like that the staff spoke in a casual tone, maybe because they mainly had regular customers. I think it would be better to use a polite tone with new customers. When the staff suddenly said in a loud voice, "Do you need a receipt?" I thought they were talking to each other, and I was taken aback. But they left us alone while we were eating, which was good. Well, at one point they did say, "You have something on your shirt," as they passed by, which felt more like a friend talking. The taste was great, but because of that, it was a bit ruined. The parking lot is next to a supermarket and a 100-yen store, so you can park there. If you spend over 500 yen, you can park for free for about an hour!

Burger specialty shop located next to Daiei. As expected from a specialty shop, the menu is varied and it's hard to choose. Ordered Teriyaki Burger with pineapple topping, cola, and onion rings set. The Teriyaki Burger with pineapple was tasty but maybe I had too high expectations. It lacked the Teriyaki flavor and the meat wasn't juicy. I'll try a different menu next time. The onion rings were crispy, not greasy or oily, and fried perfectly. Very delicious.

During a business trip to Kyoto, I stayed overnight and went on a food tour. The restaurant is located in a residential area on the north side of Kitayama Street and the west side of Horikawa Street. Since there were no coin parking lots nearby, I took a bus or walked from Kitaoji Station. On a rainy day, I took the Kyoto City Bus route 46 from Shijo Kawaramachi for about 30 minutes, passing Imamiya Shrine and getting off at a bus stop called "Ushiwaka," which was less than a 5-minute walk away. I arrived just in time for the opening at 11:00 am on the weekend, so I didn't have to wait. I ordered the "Chili Jalapeno Burger" (1000 yen) with an additional topping of "Cheese" (130 yen), along with a "Potato Set" (200 yen) and a drink of "Cola" (200 yen). The burger had a large coarse-ground patty that caught my eye, but surprisingly, it was not difficult to eat, probably because the amount of binder was carefully calculated to prevent it from falling apart. The spiciness from the jalapeno and red chili was not extremely hot, but it was appetizingly spicy. The fries were lightly salted, so ketchup was not necessary, but dipping them in the leftover sauce in the burger bag might be a good idea. Although the restaurant is not close to major tourist attractions in Kyoto, if you are walking around on a sunny day in sneakers, it might be interesting to make a stop at this place.

I went around 1 o'clock in the afternoon and it was super crowded. They said it would take a little while. I ordered the pulled pork burger from a friendly and cheerful lady. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I was finally able to enter the store and then waited another 10 minutes? It finally arrived - it looked delicious! I took a bite and it was gone in an instant, haha. It was a delicious hamburger.

I ordered a Red Cheddar Cheeseburger and an Onion Potato Cheeseburger with egg topping, along with a small size fries. The sauce didn't have much flavor, and the patty tasted salty occasionally. There were plenty of vegetables, and the juicy tomato was delicious. It seems like there are many regular customers and repeat visitors.

The atmosphere seemed nice so I decided to enter. I ordered at the register near the entrance, then sat down and waited for the burger to be served at my table. The price was over 1000 yen, but it was worth it for the generous portion and the American-style taste of the burger. Both the Avocado Cheeseburger I ordered and the Cheeseburger my daughter ordered were served with a skewer, making them look fancy with their height. My daughter thought the patty was too greasy and only ate the buns, but personally, I loved the abundance of avocado in my burger, making it a satisfying meal on its own.

"Kansai Expedition Part 1: Kyoto Edition. 'Bacon Cheeseburger ¥1,180,' 'Onion Rings Set ¥280,' 'Cola ¥200' tax included, only electronic money PayPay accepted. The Hamburger in Kyoto City, run by Mr. Kobayashi who worked at Brozers for 10 years with his wife. The homemade bacon is thick, smoky, and the BBQ sauce is addictive. The thoughtfulness of Mrs. Kobayashi's towel memo is delightful. Thank you for the delicious meal!"

Today is the day when I go out for lunch with my wife a few times a month. When I asked my wife for her request, she said she wanted to eat a gourmet burger, so I checked out this restaurant in advance. Standing in front of the restaurant, I noticed the colorful sign. As we entered the restaurant, there was an order counter with a menu written on it. There were many burger options to choose from, but I decided to order the classic "Bacon Cheese" burger (1,180 yen) and a black oolong tea (300 yen). This restaurant operates on a one-drink system. The burger had thick-cut bacon sticking out, a thick patty, melted cheese, fresh tomato, and lettuce sandwiched between the buns, all looking very delicious. Taking a big bite, I could taste the flavorful bacon, juicy patty, rich cheese, fresh tomato, crispy lettuce, and tangy sauce mixing together in my mouth, satisfying my taste buds. The buns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the bacon was thick and flavorful, complementing the patty well. My wife, who had the cheeseburger with egg topping, also enjoyed it. I look forward to going back to this restaurant with my wife again.

A little out-of-the-way place with handmade burgers full of flavor. They write a message on the takeout bag, which is a nice touch. The burger has a solid patty with good chew, though it's not super juicy. It was really delicious!

My favorite burger as a dish. Although gourmet burgers are popular, there are not many specialty shops in Kyoto. When talking about this with a friend, I was recommended this shop. It is said that the shop was opened by someone who had worked at the super famous Tokyo shop "BROZERS'" for about 10 years. Located in a residential area in Kitaku, Kyoto, it is a familiar place, so I visited it promptly. Located in front of a park, many people opt for takeout. Bacon Cheese (BBQ) 1180 yen Fried Potato S 280 yen Black Oolong Tea 300 yen Coffee 300 yen It is served in about 10 minutes. The visual presentation is very beautiful. The buns from Petite France are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The patty is 100% beef. The texture is interesting, as they hand-chop the block meat in the store. The house-smoked homemade bacon could have a bit more presence. The BBQ sauce doesn't have a strong sweetness, giving a harmonious overall taste. The fries are thin and crispy. Delicious. Overall, it is a well-balanced gourmet burger. I would like to visit again.

I went to the newly renovated Vans and tried the limited edition venison burger. Deer meat is low in calories, low in fat, high in protein, and high in iron. It's not as juicy as beef, but the chef cooked it well, so it was healthy and delicious with no gamey taste. The newly renovated buns were also nice. Thank you as always for the meal.

"We visited a burger shop that we wanted to go to with three of my part-time job colleagues, and we were guided to a table at the back that could seat four people! Except for the burger boy, the rest of us were visiting for the first time! Before going, we called to make sure the restaurant was open. We parked at a nearby coin parking lot and it was only a 1.2-minute walk away. The restroom was also tasteful and clean. The reason we wanted to visit was because of the kindness of the owner couple, the deliciousness of the burgers, and the sense of the shop! There were plenty of side menu options, and the waiting time after ordering was quite short. I ordered the Teriyaki Burger (1160 yen) that I discovered on Instagram! [The photo is included in the review]. Evaluation Summary: - Burger → Buns, patty, volume, balance, all perfect!! - Interior → Stylish - Kindness of the people 100 points - A shop that I definitely want to visit when I go to Kyoto."
