Hello ♪ It's Ramen Walking! Today is Udon Day ~ I visited Kinukawa in Tanimachi-Rokuchome and tried their "Toritama Tempura Bukkake" udon. As the temperature rises, the season for cold udon approaches. I found a udon shop known for their delicious bukkake udon, so I decided to visit! The shop was at a convenient walking distance. Upon arrival at 18:20, I was seated immediately without having to wait. I ordered the "Toritama Tempura Bukkake" for 980 yen. The udon noodles were of the gummy type, thin and soft yet stretchy. The broth for the bukkake was sweet and savory with a strong seafood flavor, delicious enough to drink on its own! The tempura toppings of chicken and egg were crispy and juicy. The combination of the broth, noodles, and toppings was excellent. I finished every last bit! Thank you, Kinukawa, for the wonderful meal! Today's step count: 17,118 steps. Calories burned: 634 kcal.

It's rare to see no line in front of the shop. I went in after a long time and it was empty inside. I wonder why? I ordered the "Chicken Tempura and Egg Tempura Udon for 980 yen." It was quite a generous portion, easily enough for two. The chewiness of the Sanuki udon was delicious. However, it was slightly lukewarm, but I guess that's how it is. I enjoyed my meal today as well. Thank you for the meal.

Ordered two types of Chikuten kitsune and Chikuten bukkake. The warm one had a traditional mixed broth that was just the right amount of salty, almost drinkable. The cold one had a slightly somen-like broth. The noodles were very soft and fluffy, with a perfect texture. The Chikuten was huge and full of flavor.

I visited "Kiwagawa", a udon and sake restaurant in Chuo-ku, Osaka City. It is located a 5-minute walk west from the Kintetsu Line, Tanimachi Rokuchome Station, Exit 4, along the Kuromori Shopping Street. The restaurant was clean and had a total of 17 seats, including 14 tables and 3 counter seats. I ordered the set menu "Oyakomeshi Set" (900 yen), which includes a mini tempura bowl with two pieces of chicken tempura on egg over rice, bukkake udon, and pickles. The udon noodles were thick and chewy, resembling gummy texture. The bukkake sauce was lightly flavored, allowing the noodles' taste to stand out, making it delicious. The chicken tempura was moist and not crispy, with a subtle flavor that highlighted the ingredients. The attention to detail and quality of the food were evident throughout the restaurant. I highly recommend their tempura, especially the shrimp, chicken, green pepper, lotus root, and maitake mushroom tempura that I had previously. I look forward to visiting again. Thank you for the meal.

My husband used to frequent this place, so he took me there for lunch. I ordered the recommended Tori Tama Tempura Udon for 980 yen. First, I tried the udon without any condiments. It had a nice chewy texture and smoothly slid into my mouth. And the best part was the chicken tempura here! It's made from chicken breast, and since it's freshly fried, it's crispy on the outside while the juiciness of the chicken comes through. It was so delicious that my husband finished his meal in no time. It's been a while since I've been to a non-chain udon specialty store around my neighborhood, but this place has quickly become my favorite with the owner's dedication evident in every bite. The menu also had a variety of options for alcohol pairing, but it's only available for those who drink. I'm currently pregnant, so I'll have to wait until I can enjoy a drink here. We went on a Saturday afternoon, and the place was packed. Luckily, we managed to get in without waiting in line, but some people had to wait a bit.

Located a 4-minute walk from Tanamachi 6-chome Station, "Kawahori Kinugawa" in the Karahori Shotengai is a place I have visited for the third time today. I ordered the Oyakomeshi Set (bukkake), which is a mini tendon with egg over rice and two pieces of chicken tempura. The presentation of the udon is beautiful, with the noodles shining brightly. The noodles are chewy and have a nice texture. I slurped up the noodles while enjoying the Oyakomeshi with chicken tempura. It was easy to eat and I finished it in no time! Thank you for the meal!

From Horikawa to Kinugawa @ Tanimachi Rokuchome / Toriten Bukkake & Chikuwa Ten
On a rare day off in the middle of the week, I decided to eat out for lunch. With the hot weather, I was craving cold udon noodles instead of ramen. It's unusual that I haven't had a single bowl of ramen since August started (laughs). Since moving to Osaka, I've found myself preferring cold udon noodles over cold ramen or tsukemen recently. I don't know why...
So, today I set out to find some cold udon noodles nearby. I decided to visit Kinugawa, a place I've passed by many times but never actually tried. The restaurant is located inside the Karahori Shopping Street, right in front of that famous curry shop. It's convenient that Karahori is only about a 10-minute walk from my place in this hot weather.
When I arrived at the restaurant, there was no line outside, so I walked right in. Luckily, there was still seating available, and I was seated at a table for one. I ordered the Toriten Bukkake with extra Chikuwa Ten. While waiting, I heard a familiar song playing in the background. Oh! Isn't this "Oh Sherrie" by Steve Perry from the band JOURNEY released in 1984? How nostalgic.
After a short wait, my order arrived. I started by tasting the broth, which was dark and rich. The umami flavor of the broth was strong, with a subtle sweetness. The seasoning was crisp, adding depth to the broth. I really liked this broth, it suits my taste.
The udon noodles were firm with a chewy, gummy texture, and a refreshing mouthfeel. The Toriten (chicken tempura) was made from chicken breast, well-prepared, tender, and juicy. The Chikuwa Ten (fish cake tempura) had a rich umami flavor that spread with each bite, and the Tamaten (egg tempura) had a creamy yolk. The tempura of green pepper and paprika were also delicious.
I must say, I have to come back to this place again. I left the restaurant feeling fully satisfied in both my stomach and heart.

It's been another month already. Lately, I've been feeling overwhelmed, so I decided to take a stroll around my usual spot, Horibarari. Surprisingly, there was no line at Kinugawa Udon, so I quickly went in. It was a hot day, so I ordered the chilled dish on the menu, which was the Kishimen from Hoshigaoka Seimenjo in Nagoya. The Kinugawa Udon looked thicker than usual, with some wakame in between. Both had a smooth texture rather than a chewy one. The broth was delicious, made with bonito flakes, kombu, and other flavors. The udon acted as a spoon, gently carrying the tasty broth and enveloping it. While Sanuki Udon is good, this type of udon is also excellent. Which is better, udon or kishimen? Both are delicious!!!

Limited-time menu: Shrimp tempura and mixed tempura on rice for 1500 yen. I'm not usually a fan of mixed tempura, but I found this one very easy to eat. However, I felt that this udon lacked any distinctiveness, whether in a good or bad way. I would like to try their warm udon as well.

Goroku, Sorabori's popular udon restaurant! We had to wait a bit outside because it's a popular place, but once we got in, the menu had a variety of options. For dinner, they offer small dishes like izakaya style, and for lunch, they have bukkake udon, warm dashi udon, and other classic dishes. The broth had a refreshing taste of kombu, and the udon itself had a good texture and stretchiness. I personally found the gentle flavor of the white kombu udon to be impressive. It seems like they pay attention to the oil they use, so you can enjoy fried foods without worrying too much. Overall, I didn't have a standout impression, but it felt safe and reliable.

I visited on a Sunday afternoon. I usually avoided going on weekends because of the long lines, but I found out that by lining up about 10 minutes before opening, I could be among the first to enter (although it may vary by day). You can order the same menu for lunch as you can for dinner. I ordered the summer limited kishimen. The clear broth with a bonito flavor and the floating noodles looked refreshing. The noodles are thin but have a nice chew to them. The set of chicken tempura was also light and moist, making it easy to eat. I also noticed that the service was faster compared to dinner time. I could see people waiting in front of the store, so instead of lingering, I left promptly after finishing my meal.

I ordered the menu ☆ Tori Tama Tempura Bukkake for 980 yen. It consists of tender and crispy tori tempura soaked in Kinugawa dashi, along with soft-boiled egg tempura. The dish is topped with a rich broth, so it is recommended to try it without adding any condiments first. Thank you for the meal! Thank you, Kinugawa!

I came here because of its reputation. The restaurant is elegant and quiet. I ordered the Tori Tama Tempura Udon. The broth is rich and flavorful. They recommended trying it without adding any condiments first. The udon noodles are soft with a chewy texture. The chicken tempura is made with tender breast meat and is very delicious. The egg is soft-boiled. The broth is not too strong, in fact, it's light. It is elegant and delicious. After the first few bites, I added condiments and found a good balance in the flavors. Thank you for the meal~

Udon restaurant located along Karahori shopping street with a hundred years of history. Their specialty dish, chicken tempura egg over noodles, had a perfect combination of chewy noodles and flavorful broth. The three pieces of chicken tempura and half-cooked egg tempura were satisfyingly filling. Definitely want to revisit this place.

I had the Toridama Bukkake Udon and Tororo Gohan set~(*^^*) It was lunchtime and there was a long line at the curry shop across the street⊂( ・ω・ )⊃ The udon noodles were surprisingly chewy and had a unique texture! They were medium thick and very springy! The tempura was freshly fried and delicious~

This restaurant is unique in my knowledge. When I first tried it almost 10 years ago, I was impressed by the Osaka-style udon. I recommend the Ouboro Konbu Udon made with white konbu from the neighboring long-established konbu shop. The broth is exquisite.

I visited a restaurant that I had been curious about for a while, located right in front of the famous curry restaurant Yamatei. The broth was clear and had a strong flavor of dried baby sardines. Since it was hot, I enjoyed a cold dish. I wanted to try various tempura, so I ordered shrimp tempura and chicken tempura with cold noodles. The chicken tempura had a rich flavor and was delicious. The vegetable tempura was also good. It may be a bit filling for women, so either chicken or shrimp tempura with vegetables is a good choice. The noodles had a nice chewy texture, which I liked. Next time, I want to try it with some sake. Thank you for the delicious meal. I will visit again!

I heard that the chewy and elastic udon noodles are popular, so I visited the restaurant "Udon and Sake Kurikawaya" in Osaka. Their specialty dish, Toridama Tempura Udon, is a must-try, and on weekdays, they also offer a great deal on sets including Tempura Rice Bowl and Udon. The restaurant is located in a corner of the Karahori Shotengai shopping street, right across from the famous spice curry restaurant "Kyuyamu-tei Karahori Branch." I visited just before 2 p.m. on a weekday and was able to enter smoothly without waiting in line. The interior has a counter with 3 seats facing the kitchen, and in the back, there are 4-5 tables for 4 people each, surprisingly spacious. Solo diners are usually seated at the counter. There is a place to store your belongings under the counter, and the distance between seats is comfortably wide. Lunch is served from 11:20 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays (until 2:30 p.m. on weekends, closed on Tuesdays) (Please check the latest information on the restaurant's current operating hours and format). Set menu options during weekday lunchtime include: - Tempura Rice Bowl Set: 900 yen - Tempura and Grated Daikon Udon Set: 900 yen - Toridama Tempura Rice Bowl: 1,100 yen - Mini Tempura Rice Bowl Set: 950 yen - Tempura Rice Bowl: 1,350 yen I ordered the Tempura Rice Bowl Set with Udon noodles. The Tempura Rice Bowl set came with Tempura Udon topped with two types of vegetable tempura. The Udon noodles were glossy, smooth, and slightly thin. When you take a bite, you can feel the gentle elasticity and smoothness, different from the strong chewiness of Sanuki Udon. The noodles have a refreshing texture and a pleasant throat feel. The Tempura Udon broth was mild and complemented the soft noodles well. The broth had a subtle flavor with a delicate aroma and a hint of sweetness. The finely chopped seaweed added a nice touch. The set also included grated ginger and green onions as condiments. The Vegetable Tempura included one piece each of shiitake mushroom and eggplant tempura, both crispy and flavorful. The Tempura Rice Bowl featured a generous portion of tender and juicy Tempura chicken. The combination of the soft and fluffy rice with the crispy Tempura was a delightful treat. Overall, the meal was satisfying and delicious.

I found out about a delicious udon restaurant on Tabelog and finally visited Kinukawa-san! It was Saturday afternoon, so I had to wait a little bit, about 15 minutes. I wasn't sure what to order, so I went with the recommended Ebi-Ten and Tori-Ten Moribukkake. The tempura was freshly fried and crispy! It was delicious whether dipped in salt or mild with grated daikon, and I was very satisfied with the udon as well! Next time, I want to try the warm udon. With the delicious curry at the old Yamu residence and the udon at Kinukawa-san, the Sora-hori Shotengai is a treasure trove of great restaurants!

I arrived at around 1:30 pm on Saturday and there were 3 groups ahead of me waiting. Since I was alone, I was able to skip ahead of the group of 3 who were in line before me, and was seated in about 5 minutes. The group in front of me was also seated just 3 minutes after that. It was my first time there, so I ordered the popular menu item, Tori Tamaten Bukkake (980 yen). It was served to me 10 minutes later. The Tori Tempura and Tamago Tempura were crispy and freshly fried. The udon noodles were thin and had a good chewy texture, but they were also soft. It was a unique kind of udon. However, I felt that the broth was a bit lacking. It was described as having a strong broth, but it didn't seem that strong to me.

It's lunchtime, and I visited this place for lunch. It was quite crowded, so I waited for about 20 minutes outside the store. I looked at the menu outside while waiting, and then I was seated at a table inside. Since it's during lunchtime, I couldn't order alcohol. After a short wait, our food was served. I had the Natto and grated yam over rice, which was made with locally sourced Natto, and it was delicious. My companion had the chicken and fish cake tempura over rice, which was also very tasty. We enjoyed our meal very much. Thank you for the delicious food!
