Located in Demachiyanagi, Kyoto, Panwest Hyakumeiten is a bakery known for its delicious cheese bread. Among the various options available, the Bacon Spice cheese bread stands out as a masterpiece. The combination of the wheat aroma from the bread, the rich scent of cheddar cheese, and the subtle sweetness of the bacon seasoning creates a perfect harmony. The coarsely ground pepper adds a nice touch to the overall flavor. This bread is a divine treat that pairs well with wine and is perfect for a leisurely indulgence. Even when frozen and reheated in the oven, it retains its quality remarkably well. I was truly enchanted by this delightful bread. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

After enjoying Mitsubachi-san, I visited around 3 pm. I took the food home to eat.
- German Potato (216 yen): Contains potatoes, bacon, and sausage. The bread is hard and delicious!
- Cheese Ball (129 yen): Simple and tasty!
- Baguette (345 yen): It's really long! I had it cut into 3 pieces to take home. I sliced it further and toasted it at home to eat with garlic oil. It was a satisfying amount!
- Ear Bread (32 yen): Used it for the side of gratin. It's great to be able to enjoy delicious ear bread from a bakery at this price! Thank you for the meal.

The shop is located right at the northeast corner of the Kyoto Imperial Palace, a little west of Teramachi Imadegawa. Since I was working from evening to night, I bought some bread as a light snack.
- Pumpkin cream bread (104 yen): The bread has pumpkin kneaded into the dough and is relatively small, about 6 cm in diameter. The bread is soft and moist, with a gentle taste of pumpkin sweetness.
- Chocolate bagel (194 yen): Similar to the pumpkin cream bread, the chocolate is kneaded throughout the dough. The chocolate flavor is not overpowering, and the bagel is not too chewy, making it easy to eat.
This was my first time using this bakery, and although I did not buy any French bread this time, based on the bread I tried, I thought the flavor was gentle and the dough was soft, overall a well-balanced bread. It's like a mix of a regular old bakery in the neighborhood and a stylish, slightly more expensive, and quality-focused bakery. I would like to use it again when passing by this area.

There is a small bakery located just east of the Imperial Palace on Imadegawa Street that opens early in the morning. The shop is not very large, but they have a variety of bread available. They offer simple, everyday bread that is not overly fancy. The prices are reasonable, with many items priced around 200 yen. Overall, it is a place where you can find good quality bread at an affordable price.

It is located about a 10-minute walk from Imadegawa Station.
- Basil France 180 yen: The French bread is a crispy, dry type. It is crunchy, flaky, and slightly chewy. The garlic flavor is not too strong, making it easy to eat.
- Bacon Spice 260 yen: A hard type of bread filled with plenty of three types of cheese and diced bacon. The cheese is chewy and delicious. It has a spicy flavor with a kick of black pepper.
- Whole Wheat Tuna Curry 230 yen: A soft whole wheat bread filled with vegetable curry and tuna. The curry is mild and comforting, with a gentle taste.

Petit Chocolat for 180 yen and Pain au Chocolat for 200 yen. Everything here is reasonably priced and there is a wide variety to choose from, making it difficult to decide. The impression is that there are many chocolate-based pastries. In particular, the Petit Chocolat is delicious, with layers of chocolate throughout. It's surprising how tasty it is for only 180 yen.

I also visited this retro-feeling bakery. The interior of the bakery, reminiscent of a local neighborhood bakery, is filled with various items, making it hard to choose. I purchased a few items that caught my eye, such as bacon spice bread and walnut bread. They were simple yet flavorful, fluffy with a good chewiness, and delicious. The ham and cheese with pepper-flavored bacon spice bread, in particular, was quite enjoyable. Thank you for the delicious meal. It was really tasty.

After finishing up some business near Doshisha University in Kyoto, I visited Ezuburu around 2 p.m. It's a place I go to every time, and I always imagine having the cheese-filled bacon spice bread for a hearty dinner. The red sign of the shop looks quite old, and the interior has a retro feel to it. The customers were all of a calm age, each with their favorite bread. However, to my disappointment, the "bacon spice" bread that should have been prominently displayed was not available! When I asked the staff, they explained that they had reduced the number of loaves due to the bad weather forecast, and they sold out early. It was a shock! But it's impressive how this long-established shop manages to avoid waste. Since the cheese and bacon bread I had in mind was not available, I decided to try a bread I had never bought before. The "Seagle O Noir" (430 yen) had 40% rye, giving it a slightly acidic taste, but surprisingly, it was not too pronounced and was moist. The lightly browned surface was very thin, and the inside was soft. The softness reminded me of milk. The walnuts varied in size, but there were plenty, adding a subtle bitterness and nutty richness. This bread would go well with any meal, especially when warmed and generously spread with unsalted butter. The "Whole Wheat Lemon Peel & Cream Cheese" (230 yen) looked firm but had a texture more like a roll. Despite being made with whole wheat, it was well fermented and likely easy for children to eat. The lemon peel jam was not too sweet and refreshing, pairing well with the cream cheese. It seemed like a good choice for a breakfast that would boost your energy. The "Petit Chocolat" (180 yen) had a soft and moist texture despite its appearance. The chocolate layer was not overly sweet, making it a treat suitable for adults. It felt nostalgic even though I had never eaten it before. It went well with hojicha. This bakery offers a variety of classic bread at affordable prices, making it a place where you can casually enjoy choosing and munching on different types of bread. Surviving in the competitive bakery scene in Kyoto for a long time is no easy feat. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again.

I visited the well-established "Ez Blue" shop, which exudes a sense of tradition. I arrived early, and the freshly baked items were being lined up one after another. This time, I decided to try the curry bread. I purchased the curry bread and the big curry with egg for comparison. I personally prefer the big curry with egg ❤️ It was satisfying and filling. Thank you for the meal!

Ez Blue is located less than a 10-minute walk from Demachiyanagi Station. Inside the shop, there is a wide variety of bread lined up, which is quite enjoyable to choose from. Unfortunately, when I arrived around 10:45 on a Sunday, the most popular Bacon Spice bread was sold out. I was told that they were about to put it in the oven, so it would take some time before it was ready. It was just bad timing on my part. However, they assured me that they would bake more, so it was not a big issue. There were many tempting bread options like Walnut Cinnamon Rolls, Rum Raisin Custard, and Fruit Bread, but this time I chose:
- Rum Raisin Cream Bread for 180 yen (excluding tax): A delicious cream bread with a distinct rum raisin flavor. The dough is of the classic type, but I appreciate that they offer a variety of bread at such reasonable prices.
- Cream Cheese Walnut Bread for 180 yen (excluding tax): A walnut bread with a twist, using cream cheese. I prefer my walnut bread a bit harder. I really couldn't decide with so many choices. I would like to try other bread options next time. Thank you very much.

I accidentally chose the wrong one (laughs). The owner who went to Paris to learn Western confectionery ended up switching to bread making because the bread he ate in Paris was too delicious. The French-style hard bread made by the owner is popular. White sausage bread, whole wheat bread, white sausage and cheese, salt bread.

There is a popular bakery near Demachiyanagi Station that is known for their Bacon Spice bread priced at 260 yen and Ham and Cheese Croissant priced at 200 yen. You can also get them for takeout for 496 yen. The Bacon Spice bread may not look very appealing, but it is filled with plenty of cheese and has a nice touch of pepper. When microwaved, it tasted delicious. The Croissant, when microwaved, had a warm, gooey cheese filling that was very enjoyable. Although the size may seem large when purchased in-store, it is very satisfying to eat.

I visited a bakery that had fairly high ratings in reviews. The reviews on Tabelog can be quite reliable. I enjoyed both the sweet and savory breads. The savory bread, in particular, was delicious. I will definitely visit again.

I visited around 3 o'clock and there were plenty of varieties left. They had bread, French bread, bagels, sweet bread, and savory bread. The Satsuma French bread was delicious with plenty of sweet potatoes! (The photo is of a chocolate bagel) It had a friendly and familiar atmosphere, not like a high-end bakery. Overall, it was reasonably priced.

Located about a 5-minute walk from the Kawaramachi Imadegawa bus stop, this bakery is also close to Artisanal. As you enter through the slightly dated red awning and off-white door, you'll find a variety of breads neatly lined up. The three items I chose were: Petit Chocolat for 194 yen, a swirl-shaped bread with a hint of sweetness from the chocolate, and a pleasant aroma of wheat from the dough. Whole Wheat Bacon Cheese for 248 yen, with a slightly firm dough topped with bacon, cheese, and black pepper. When reheated, the cheese flavor becomes richer, and the whole wheat aroma is prominent. Cream Pan for 172 yen, featuring a soft bread filled generously with fluffy custard. It's not too sweet. All of them were delicious, making me want to try more of their bread varieties.

On this day, I visited "Eze Bleu" near the Imperial Palace♪ It's about a 7-8 minute walk from Demachiyanagi Station☆ Upon arrival, the timing was perfect as the store was not crowded♬ The bread I chose was the "Egg Salad Danish (@170)", "Egg Salad Bread (@200)", and "Chocolate Croissant (@250)".
[Egg Salad Danish] The smell of the baked bread is irresistible (๑>◡<๑)
[Egg Salad Bread] It has a substantial weight to it☆ With cheese, nuts, and black pepper♫
[Chocolate Croissant] Chocolate & custard cream☆ The crispy texture is delightful (*゚▽゚*) Satisfied with the egg-based items this time☘ Next time, I want to try the "An Butter France" that was not available on this day〜 (∗ˊᵕ`∗)

The bus stop from Kawaramachi Imadegawa is about a 5-minute walk. The interior of the shop was crowded with 4 people against the limit of 5 people. It's a popular shop! There are several shops in this area that are part of the Pan Hyakumeiten, making it a fierce competition zone. I arrived at the shop around 13:30, and there were still many breads left, so I had a hard time choosing. Petit Chocolat 194 yen, Whole Wheat Bacon Cheese 248 yen, Cream Pan 172 yen. Whole Wheat Bacon Cheese: A bread with a nice aroma of whole wheat, bacon, and a savory flavor of black pepper. Cream Pan: Fluffy dough with plenty of creamy filling. Petit Chocolat: A bread with chocolate kneaded in. All of them were reasonably priced and delicious, making it a bakery that you would want to visit for everyday use. Thank you for the meal!

I visited during lunchtime. There were various types of sweet bread and side dish bread, making it hard to choose. I purchased a potato salad bread and a chocolate banana bread. The potato salad bread had a generous amount of potato salad on top of a firm bread! The potatoes were large and chunky, with eggs and bacon mixed in. The taste was light, with a surprising kick of mustard. The potato salad had a mature and spicy flavor, which was delicious! What surprised me even more was finding a sausage inside the bread! It was a luxurious addition to the already satisfying potato salad. And all of this for only 250 yen, it was a great deal! The bread was very filling and satisfying. The chocolate banana bread had a crispy crust with a moist banana and chocolate filling. This one was 200 yen. With its affordable price, delicious taste, and wide variety, I can't wait to visit again.

I took the Keihan train after finishing my night shift, but I'm still not used to it. I've taken it several times from Kayashima to Osaka, but I rarely go from Kyobashi to Kyoto. Last time, the limited express was so crowded that I got off at Demachiyanagi and switched to the semi-express. This time, I planned to take the semi-express again. But then the rapid express came. It seemed less crowded and faster, so I decided to take it. When I arrived at Demachiyanagi station, I had about 30 minutes before the ramen shop opened, so I rented a shared bicycle and went to another famous shop first. I bought the No.1 popular Bacon Spice Bread for 280 yen in cash and headed to the next place. When I got back and ate it at night, it was a bit hard because some time had passed, but the spicy flavor was delicious.
