After a long time, I visited Shin-Okubo and of course, I went to this place. I ordered the reliable Yannyeom chicken, oil salad, and oden, and also tried the Bibim noodles for the first time. Everything was delicious as always. Next time, I want to try the Jajang noodles.

Shin-Okubo - Went to Koreatown with my eldest daughter to take a break from the heat. Each person had to order one drink and one dish. I chose a draft beer to cool down, the chilled mug was great. The oden broth and fish cakes were delicious, they really soaked up the flavor. The bulgogi kimbap was huge and full of filling, the harmony of flavors was excellent. It was really tasty, I enjoyed it a lot. I only intended to take a break, but ended up with a full stomach haha. I couldn't finish the kimbap, so I took it home. Thank you for the meal!

You can enjoy authentic Korean cuisine in a setting similar to a Korean food stall. The outdoor seating is nice unless it's summer or winter! The shrimp dumplings had a unique taste that I was expecting, but the flavor was quite ordinary. The garlic chicken wings were really delicious! There were other menu items that caught my attention, so I will visit again!

#Shin-Okubo #Chuncheon Chicken Kalbi #Dinner I went there (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) Foodlog 3.3 36,000 yen or so♀️ 6 minutes walk from Shin-Okubo Station, a long-established #Korean restaurant on #Ikemen Street. It's fun to drink along the street, especially at this time of year. The steamed shrimp dumplings #Mandu were delicious~. However, other dishes had a Korean-style taste and I wouldn't recommend them much. The Tteokgalbi might be delicious, but it's better to go all out at the first place or have a light meal at the second place✨ #Korean cuisine #Shin-Okubo gourmet #Shin-Okubo Korean cuisine #Pocha #Tteokgalbi #Shin-Okubo dinner

★You can eat at a Korean-style food stall on the terrace seat! ★Generous portions and everything is cheap and delicious!!!! ★Perfect for a girls' night out! My friend who loves Korean food took me to this restaurant! Everything was delicious, cheap, and filling, I was really satisfied♡ We had drinks at night and it didn't even cost 2500 yen! The Instagram-worthy shrimp dumplings had a strong shrimp flavor, and the chewy skin was delicious. The cheese in the pancake was too much, but the portion was generous! There were many women in the restaurant, so it was easy to enter⭐️ We went for an early dinner, so we were able to get in quickly without waiting before 5 pm, but it seems like there might be a line during peak hours. I recommend going early!

Visited with 2 people at 7:58 PM on a regular day. The restaurant was full, so we waited a few minutes before entering. We were seated at a table in the back left of the restaurant. We ordered a bottle of fresh Makgeolli for 1,700 yen, tofu stir-fry for 750 yen, and Galbi for 800 yen. As expected in Shin-Okubo, the taste and atmosphere were authentic Korean, and we left satisfied.

Lemon sour, oden, and oi salad were ordered. Oi salad is a cucumber salad with pickled vegetables. The pickled napa cabbage salad is also delicious, but the oi salad was also incredibly tasty! Oi salad is delicious, but it's a shame that it's not seen often.

Someone had mentioned that the sesame leaf dumplings at this restaurant were delicious, so I decided to visit since I was nearby. It was almost full around 4 PM on a Sunday, but I was able to get a table without waiting. Using sesame leaves for the dumpling wrappers is a great idea. I also tried the Yannyeon Chicken and Kim Mari, which are spring rolls made with glass noodles wrapped in seaweed and fried. The batter on all the dishes was crispy and heavy, with mild seasoning, and I found it a bit overwhelming. Perhaps younger people with stronger stomachs would enjoy it more. There were some concerns about hygiene as well, so I think one visit was enough for me. Thank you for the meal.

It feels like a place where you can truly enjoy authentic Korean cuisine. I could only order Mandu Set and Kimbap because I stopped by after a café. It's a shame that I couldn't order more with a group of about four people! The downside is that there is always a line... I wish I could stop by more casually, but well, it's understandable that it's crowded because the food is delicious.

This is my third visit to this restaurant. The first two times, I visited with a full stomach for takeout kimbap. This time, since I didn't eat too much at my first stop at Matsuya for kamjatang, this place seemed like the main meal.
Order:
- Salt and Pepper Chicken
- Kim Mari
- Shrimp Dumplings
Drink:
- Makgeolli
In my previous visits, I would drink while waiting for my takeout kimbap. Every time, the shrimp dumplings that were brought to other tables looked delicious! So this time, I finally ordered them. My friend wanted the chicken, and "Onma" (we call the bossy lady at this place that) recommended the Kim Mari, so we ordered that too.
Here, it's one order per person, with one drink. My friend has been into makgeolli lately, so we ordered a bottle. The chicken and Kim Mari fried dishes were served quickly. The Korean chicken was crispy and delicious! The surprising part was the Kim Mari, which I was trying for the first time. It seemed like glass noodles wrapped in Korean seaweed and deep-fried in tempura batter, with a sweet and savory sauce drizzled on top. Yummy! The shrimp dumplings I had been wanting were served piping hot! They were tasty, but I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't much shrimp flavor. It looks like there's a slightly bigger shrimp inside, but it's actually quite small (laughs).
It had been a while (about 10 years?) since I had makgeolli, and it was refreshing and light. But I was craving something fizzy, so I used it as a chaser for my whiskey highball (laughs). I finally had some proper food this time, and everything was well-seasoned and delicious. We all agreed that next time, we'll make this our first stop! Strangely, even though there were three of us, we ate so much at these two places that we couldn't drink as much alcohol as usual (laughs).

You can enjoy authentic Korean cuisine in a setting similar to a local street food stall at this restaurant. One of the highlights is the Sundae, a Korean-style sausage stuffed with pig intestines, glass noodles, and sticky rice. It was my first time trying it and I couldn't stop eating because of its addictive flavor. The popular Gyoza platter includes shrimp dumplings, kimchi dumplings, and pork and vegetable dumplings, all served in a generous portion. I highly recommend trying it. This is a Korean restaurant that you must visit at least once. Don't miss out on the Nira Chijimi for ¥850, Gyoza platter for ¥950, Sundae for ¥1000, Jajangmyeon for ¥1000, and various alcoholic beverages starting from ¥500.

Big shrimp gyoza that you can't eat in one bite! This Korean-style tavern is bustling with customers during lunchtime! We also ordered kimchi rolls, which were filling with plenty of ingredients! This was just the right amount for two women. Recommended items include the generous portion size, convenient location on Handsome Street, and the Korean-like atmosphere. Note that the menu prices do not include tax! It's one drink and one order per person. No reservation needed for Saturday lunch (you can probably get in before 11:30 without waiting too long!) Atmosphere: Table seating, counter seating. All ages and genders are welcome.

After lunch, I stopped by for a coffee break and a light drink. I ordered a plate of assorted tempura and 2 skewers of oden on the terrace seat. The tempura had a variety of ingredients and was freshly fried. The oden was also very satisfying. It's not too cold yet, so the terrace seat was comfortable. It's a great place to stop by for a casual drink!

Shin-Okubo / Harukawa Chicken Kalbi Budget: 3,000 yen~ This place is personally the most "Seoul" in Shin-Okubo! Located on the handsome street, with food stalls along the street, the interior also has a popular atmosphere, and the Omoni (mothers) cook the dishes promptly! The shrimp dumplings have the best visuals and taste amazing. The squid stir-fry is very filling but not too bland, full of flavor! The cucumber and green onion salad only goes well with alcohol, so be careful not to drink too much. Most of all, what I love about this place is the Kimbap♡ I haven't encountered delicious Kimbap like this often! On days when I eat too much, I order takeout. You can't make reservations, and there's a line outside on weekends, but I think it's worth going even if you have to wait. Not recommended for those who don't like the hustle and bustle of food stalls, but for those seeking Seoul, please give it a try!

If you want to enjoy authentic Korean cuisine with a local street food vibe, then Han River is the place to go! It's affordable and offers generous portions. From classic dishes to more unique options, they have it all! This time, I tried the Yangpa Chicken - a sweet onion and vinegar flavored chicken dish. It was delicious with lots of onions. While the Yamnyom Chicken is popular, I also recommend this one! We also had the Egoma Gyoza - a dish where meat filling is wrapped in egoma leaves. It's similar to shiso and also very tasty. We also tried the classic cold noodles, which were refreshing with a hint of vinegar. Even the 600 yen dishes are generous in portion, so two people might be able to handle three dishes at most! The dishes over 1000 yen are huge, so it's best to order them when going with a group of four or more!

Located about a 5-minute walk from Shin-Okubo Station on the JR Yamanote Line, "Chungcheon Chicken Galbi" is a Korean restaurant where you can enjoy your meal inside the restaurant or on the terrace like a food stall. When I visited during lunchtime, the indoor seating was full, so I opted for the terrace. I ordered Kim Mari, Kimbap, and Garlic Chicken. The portions were generous. Kim Mari is made by frying glass noodles inside seaweed, and it was delicious while still hot. The Kimbap was rolled right in front of me, and it was thick with lots of fillings, making it very tasty. The Garlic Chicken was covered in a special sauce (which I think had a bit of vinegar) and was full of garlic flavor. It was so delicious. I think I'll come back next time for a leisurely meal.笑

It was located in a narrow alley in Shin-Okubo, and the inside of the restaurant was full, with only the outdoor terrace seats available. Luckily, the terrace allowed smoking, which was a plus for me. The restaurant wasn't fancy, but the lady frying the chicken at the storefront created a nice atmosphere. The food seemed authentic, and there were many regulars buying takeout.

Omi○ron's trend is no longer relevant. On Sunday in Shin-Okubo, it's bustling with young and trendy gals. Popular restaurants have long lines, but this one can seat you right away if you sit outside. The appeal of this place isn't just the food, but being able to sit outside, feel the cold, watch the gals passing by through clear vinyl curtains, and enjoy drinks. You can only order one dish per person, so we ordered oden, tteokbokki, kimbap, and a bottle of raw makgeolli, using chamisul shots as chasers. It's been about 4 years since I last traveled to Korea. I wonder when we'll be able to travel abroad easily again.

I came to Hatsu Okubo for the first time ^ ^ It was a Sunday and all the restaurants had lines. There were also a few people waiting at this restaurant. I decided to wait here since the menu seemed to have a lot of options. After about 15 minutes of waiting, we were seated at a table in the back. I chose something that seemed normal since I had never tried it before. I ordered Kim Mari and Pockunpa, which are like fried rice dishes. Kim Mari is a dish where Chapche (stir-fried glass noodles) is rolled in seaweed and then fried. Even though it was a single serving, a large Kim Mari came on the plate, piping hot. It had a delicious aroma of sesame oil and garlic, a sweet and sour sauce, and a light, crispy texture despite being fried. It was incredibly tasty and went well with alcohol. Pockunpa is a Korean-style fried rice dish with kimchi and gochujang (red chili paste). It was very spicy, but the flavor was addictive. My partner, who loves spicy food, really enjoyed it and ended up eating most of it since I'm not a fan of spicy food. The restaurant was affordable and perfect for a daytime drink. I would definitely visit again.
