I went to buy some popular bagels on Sunday around 9:05 am. The place is located on the south side of Fukamoriike, about a 10-minute walk from Kitayama Subway Station. When I arrived at the store, there were already four groups of people lined up, all buying a decent amount. I wanted to buy blueberry bagels, but they were sold out by the person in front of me. However, when I inquired, they brought out freshly made bagels from the back. I purchased spinach (220 yen), blueberry (220 yen), and cinnamon raisin (200 yen), a total of three. I brought them home and divided each into three pieces to try all the flavors. The bagels mainly consist of flour and salt, with no animal fats included. The quality seems to be determined purely by the cooking method, and these bagels had a perfect balance - not dry at all, with a good chewy texture. The spinach had a subtle flavor, so it might be better with something inside. But the cinnamon raisin and blueberry were delicious on their own, without any spreads. They were not overloaded with flavors or strong seasonings, serving as a complement to the bagel. I was very satisfied with the total cost of 640 yen!

Visited the restaurant on September 24, 2023, before noon. Two groups of customers before me ordered a bacon and egg bagel for 600 yen, which was a bit tough to chew due to the firm dough. Also tried a carrot muffin for 200 yen, the last one available, which was just average. Neither of them was something I would want to eat again.

I don't know how many times I've bought from here. I usually get the chewy bagel sandwich with lox. It's so delicious, so if you can go buy some, please do. You can buy on the day, but it's better to make a reservation.

It's Bon season, and it seems like it's going to be hot, so I left home early to visit a temple. I found a spot where I can see my power spot, Mt. Hiei, as advised by the priest. I stood there for a while and prayed. I have a special connection with this place. On my way back, I started feeling a bit hungry, even though it was still early for lunch. A few days ago, my friend Merocchi asked me if I knew about this place, and when I looked it up, I realized I had visited it a long time ago. It's near Shinden Pond in Kitayama, Kyoto. Since my dentist is in Kitayama, I pass by this parking lot often. I hadn't been here in a while. There is an eat-in option, but I was hoping for a table to be available. When I entered the shop, there was one table free, which was perfect. I ordered coffee and an onion bagel with smoked chicken and pickles, and a cream cheese bagel. The bagels were just right, not too hard or too soft. The pickles added a nice touch, and the chicken with mustard was delicious. I immediately sent photos to Merocchi, and she seemed quite envious. I also bought some items for takeout - a whole wheat bagel, a lemon cardamom carrot muffin, and spinach bagel. I bought some as gifts for my friends who have been very helpful to me. I can see the parking lot from the road, so if it's empty next time, I'll definitely come back. They also offer frozen products, so it's convenient for stocking up.

The opening hours are short, and they tend to sell out by midday on weekends. It's recommended to make a web reservation in advance. Despite being a bit far from the station, this popular bagel shop has been selected as one of the top 100 shops for several years. I made a reservation for 12:30 on a weekday. Reservations are required by the day before and prepayment is necessary.
[Items purchased]
Bacon & Egg (without tomato) ¥620
Edamame Bagel +¥20
Fig Bagel ¥200
Ginger Pork Sandwich ¥600
Rum Raisin Cream Cheese ¥450
Customization is also possible online! The bagels are chewy and delicious. The ingredients are also to my liking. I can see why this place is so popular...!!! I usually prefer soft bread over bagels, but I really enjoyed these. I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you for the meal!

In Kyoto's Kitayama area, there is a famous bakery called Radio Bagel, which is one of the top 100 bakeries in the west. Although they specialize in bagels, they also offer delicious scones. I tried the rum raisin cream cheese bagel and a scone. The chewy texture of the bagel paired perfectly with the rum raisin flavor. The scone was crispy on the outside. The American-style decor of the bakery complemented the bagels well. It was a delightful experience. Thank you for the meal.

I had always wanted to visit this place, but I'm not a big fan of bagels, so I finally went. I was planning to have breakfast there, but currently they only offer takeout. I didn't give up and ordered the ginger pork bagel sandwich. I also got walnut, cinnamon raisin bagel, and a carrot muffin. The ginger pork bagel sandwich, warmed up in the toaster, exceeded my expectations in taste! The bagels themselves were also soft and delicious! I will definitely go back for more!

Spinach Bagel ¥200: The texture of the bagel from Grandir is chewy, while Radio Bagel is more doughy. The spinach flavor is almost non-existent, serving more as a base for fillings. It seems like the popularity comes from the sandwich fillings rather than the bagel itself. There are definitely other places with tastier bagels if you're just looking for a standalone option.

Located near the Shinneychi Pond in Kitayama, Kyoto, there is a famous bagel shop called "Radio Bagel" that has been selected as one of the top 100 bakeries multiple times. The shop opens at 9 am and closes at 3 pm, so it is recommended to arrive early as popular flavors sell out quickly. On a weekday visit, the reviewer arrived late and found only a few flavors left. They purchased a spinach bagel and an onion bagel, both of which had a great taste and texture. Overall, Radio Bagel is highly recommended for its delicious bagels in Kyoto.

I arrived after 12 o'clock and most of the items were sold out, so there were only raisin bagels and scones available. I could only eat the raisin one, but it was a satisfying bagel with a good chewy texture. I would like to visit again when there is more variety in stock, or make a reservation before coming.

I visited a popular bagel shop in Kyoto's Kitayama area. Radio Bagel is a popular bagel specialty store known for using no animal fats in their bagels. The plain bagel costs 180 yen, while richer types like walnut or blueberry are priced at 220 yen. The walnut bagel is their number one seller, followed by the plain bagel. During my visit, they were only offering takeout service, with no seating available. I tried two bagels: a whole wheat bagel and a walnut bagel. The whole wheat bagel had a simple and rich flavor with a chewy texture. The walnut bagel, their most popular item, had large walnuts baked into the dough, giving it a rich and nutty taste. Both bagels were delicious and I highly recommend stopping by Radio Bagel if you're in the Kitayama area.

I went around noon on Saturday or Sunday and there were about 5 groups waiting in line inside the store. However, the turnover rate was good. Some bagels were sold out. I chose a whole wheat and spinach bagel. It was really delicious and amazing. It was very filling and I want to go back again.
Visit time: 12:00 on Sunday
Wait time: None
Menu: I visited at 12:00 this time because when I visited in the afternoon before, everything was sold out. This time, there were only two types left, so I bought two.
- Tomato Bagel 200 yen
Slightly tomato-flavored with a sense of weight and chewiness.
- Spinach Bagel 200 yen
Since there are many reservations, it is recommended to make a reservation if you want to purchase for sure. Even at this time, sandwiches still seemed available. Thank you for the meal.

It was my first time, so I wanted to make a reservation the day before, but it was closed on the regular holiday, so I decided to visit without a reservation on the day. The bagels lined up in the showcase all looked delicious, but since I didn't know the flavors, I bought Plain, Onion, and another one. When I got home, I made a sandwich using the Onion bagel with sour cream and salmon. It was delicious. Bagels have a certain deliciousness that they should have. They are chewy and you can eat many of them. They also had sandwiches, so I would like to try them next time. The interior of the store is cute and highly recommended.

This time I arrived without getting lost, but around 13:20 there were no customers. Of course, most of the items were sold out. The staff, who spoke broken Japanese, said they had 3 onions left. It seems like they were referring to burgers. But they were already out of Teritama Chicken. I chose peanut butter and paid 400 yen with a card. I received the product in about 5 minutes and moved on to the next place. (It seems like you need to make a reservation online the day before at this store, or go before noon at the latest). The next day, I tried the product, but it was firm and not very sweet, even though it came with peanut butter. Maybe it was leftover stock? Overall, I'm giving it a low rating.

I didn't make a reservation the first time and they were sold out, so this time I made a reservation the day before. It was the right decision to reserve! When I arrived at 12:30, there was a sign saying they were sold out for the day. The bagels were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and they were delicious! Especially the onion bagel, the aroma of the onions while eating it was amazing. I will definitely be going back.

This is my favorite bagel. I definitely recommend making a reservation. The more you chew, the more you can taste the deliciousness of the wheat. I also bought a limited edition sandwich this time, but it was a bit disappointing that I couldn't choose the chocolate-like bagel in the photo. But it was delicious.

I visited the store around 11:30 on a weekend. There was only one customer waiting for their baked goods, so there was no line. I decided to try their sandwich options, which included about 8 different combinations of fillings and 8 types of bagels to choose from. They also offered the option to have the sandwich toasted or untoasted. The staff cut the sandwiches in half for easier eating. I tried the following sandwiches: Plain bagel with large chicken cutlet sandwich (around ¥540) - it had cilantro and the crust was just right. Walnut bagel with lox (salmon, onion, cream cheese, etc.) (¥530) - very stylish and my husband's favorite. Cream cheese with raisins (around ¥530) - the most delicious one! Cocoa bagel with chocolate (¥530) - rich nuts and chocolate cream, very tasty. I also had a hot coffee (around ¥400). The atmosphere inside the store was like a trendy cafe in Korea. The sandwiches had a New York vibe, and the quality of the ingredients and flavors was excellent. There were so many combinations to choose from, I want to try the simpler ones like peanut butter next time. Thank you for the meal!

In December 2022, I had this bagel for the first time in a while. I had bought it at a bread festival in Tokyo before, but I hadn't reviewed it. Since I was nearby, I decided to go to the store and try it. The window glass was decorated for Christmas and winter, with pine trees and snowflakes drawn on it. There were two groups of people in the store, one waiting for their order and the other ordering. Even after us, a woman arrived and waited her turn. Inside the glass case were bagels and baked goods for sale today, and on the counter was a menu for bagel sandwiches. I was also curious about the bagel sandwich, but I didn't have time to eat it, so this time I chose two bagels to take home, as well as scones and carrot muffins. The bagels were quite heavy, so even with this amount, the paper bag was quite heavy. It was the day we returned home, so we took them home and ate them there. The carrot muffin was a bit different than expected. It had a subtle spice and sweetness. The cream cheese was not frosting, but cream cheese mixed in as it is. The acidity of the cream cheese stood out against the mild sweetness and spice of the dough, and the overall balance didn't seem very good. The whole wheat/cinnamon raisin bagel had a shiny, heavy dough. The whole wheat had a good flour flavor, and the crust was a bit hard, but the inside was densely packed yet had a good softness and a nice chew. The contrast between the crust and crumb was very good. The cinnamon raisin had a fluffy cinnamon aroma with sweet raisins, which was an outstanding combination. Personally, I don't usually find bagels very delicious, but I thought this was the type of bagel that I wouldn't get tired of eating every day. Both bagels were very satisfying. The scone was safe in taste and had a simple flavor and a soft texture. Since I found the muffin to be too different from my taste, I have taken that into account when giving the overall rating. If it was just the bagel, I would rate it around plus 0.2. I would like to try other bagels or the bagel sandwich that I didn't eat this time.

☆★Pan WEST Top 100 Stores 2022★☆ This is the sixth bakery on the Kyoto Ride. I chose the "Whole Wheat + Peanut Butter (¥370)" and the "Spinach Bagel (¥220)". The whole wheat bagel with peanut butter looked quite stylish. The bagel was not too hard, with a chewy texture, a hint of sweetness, and a sticky peanut butter with a lingering nutty texture inside. The butter seemed to be carefully selected. It reminded me of the peanut butter from Odawara! The spinach bagel was simple. When you close your eyes and eat it, you can faintly taste the spinach. I wanted to feel the spinach, so I ate it as is, enjoying the chewiness until I finished it. It was delicious! On Saturday afternoon, there were always 2-3 people in line. It took about 10 minutes to make a purchase. It may sound rude, but there were more people than I expected. I wondered if they were all locals.
