On this day, I had work in Sanjo, Kyoto, and bought some bread at Boulangerie Liberte' on Teramachi Street. I arrived at the shop around 3 pm, and there were no other customers inside. I thought that they might have sold out by that time, but surprisingly there were still a decent amount of options available. I tried the Traditional Mentaiko and Croissant Banane. First, I tried the Traditional Mentaiko. The chewy bread combined with the perfect amount of salty and spicy Mentaiko and cheese was delicious. It tasted great as it is, but when warmed up, the bread became fluffy and offered a different kind of goodness. Both ways were delicious, but personally, I preferred eating it as it is. The Croissant Banane was just incredibly delicious. The croissant itself had a soft texture, and the crispy sliced almonds, chunky bananas with natural sweetness and aroma were delightful. Additionally, the chocolate inside added a different kind of sweetness. I think there was also almond cream inside, which added a subtle flavor. The staff was friendly, and even though it's not a big bakery, both breads I bought were delicious, so I would love to visit again if I'm in the area. Thank you for the meal.

I visited on Saturday morning. There were several other customers, showing how popular the place is. I got a croissant to go. The slightly larger croissant was crispy, had a nice buttery aroma, and was very delicious. There weren't many types of bread available in the morning, but the croissant was so good that I want to try various other kinds of bread next time.

Mini croissant - The scent of wheat and butter, with a distinct flavor in the dough. My favorite croissant.
Ham croissant - The irresistible combination of ham and cheese with the delicious dough.
I forgot the name - A perfect balance of sweetness in the Danish dough with chocolate. Definitely coming back for more.

Today, I got some bread to go from this place. It was my first time visiting this shop near Kyoto City Hall. I bought Sesame Ciabatta and the Traditional Series Olive, Anchovy, and Walnut. They were all delicious. Thank you for the meal.

This shop, which has been selected as one of the top 100 shops in Kyoto, provided me with some souvenirs. I enjoyed them while watching my favorite drama, "The Best Teacher". The shop also has a branch in Kichijoji, Tokyo, where they sell traditional mentaiko and dark cherry bread. Both items have a lovely fragrance, and the butter and wheat used seem to be from France. The mentaiko has a strong salty and spicy flavor, while the dark cherry bread is endless in its deliciousness when eaten together. It was a tasty bread that incorporated Japanese ingredients.

A charming bakery that you can't resist, located a few houses south of Murakami Kaishindo. I visited on a weekday at 1 pm and there weren't many other customers. They had a decent variety of bread, mostly of the hard type. I prefer fluffy bread, so I chose the egg sandwich for 490 yen. It had egg, ham, cucumber, and lettuce, with a light mayo on the egg and a special ham that wasn't your average ham. The sandwich was delicious with plenty of fillings. The bread was so good that it almost didn't exist. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Located in Teramachi Nijo, a place with a calm atmosphere in Kyoto, this bakery specializes in hard bread, particularly their baguettes. They take pride in using a recipe provided by the famous Parisian bakery "Du Pain et Des Idées," and actively engage in training with French bakers and exchanging information. The shop is small but offers a wide variety of bread. The reviewer visited with their wife, and despite the lack of other customers, the service was average. The interior has a French bakery feel, and the reviewer purchased three types of bread: Bacon, Tomato, Cheese for 290 yen, Olive, Anchovy, Walnut for 290 yen, and Chausson aux Pommes for 310 yen. The bread was described as having a hard texture with good fillings, but lacking in fluffiness and wheat aroma. Overall, the reviewer found the bread to be unique and not what they were used to.

Located in a fiercely competitive area for bread, this bakery has been selected as one of the top 100 shops for multiple years. While not cheap, the prices are reasonable for everyday bread. It is conveniently located near the station, open from early morning, and not too crowded even on weekends. When I visited, there were two groups of customers ahead of me and one behind me. I purchased a croissant for ¥290, a tradition bread for ¥290, and a loaf of bread for ¥390. The bread was not bad, but it felt quite ordinary to me. The prices were average and the service was neither exceptional nor poor. Perhaps I had set my expectations too high for a bakery in such a competitive area. Nevertheless, it is a convenient place to stop by, especially for those staying in nearby hotels. I apologize for the lukewarm review. Thank you for the meal.

I came to Kyoto, so I went to Boulangerie Liberte since I was here. This was the second bakery I visited, and I had more plans afterward. I bought a fluffy-looking bread, and it was indeed fluffy and delicious.

A bakery located on Teramachi Street in Kyoto. The owner trained at the popular boulangerie "Du Pain et Des Idees" in Paris. I visited around 13:30 on a weekday. The exterior and interior give off a Parisian vibe. The "Traditional" whole wheat bread is a favorite, and there were many varieties displayed as soon as you enter the shop. I intended to buy Olive Anchovy Walnut, but ended up purchasing the last one of Komatsuna Bacon Cheese, which must be the bestseller. I also bought Mentaiko French bread. I ate them the next day without reheating. Both were perfect for a meal, although I thought they would have more flavor if reheated. The taste is simple and straightforward, appealing to everyone. Items purchased that day: - Traditional Komatsuna Bacon Cheese ¥290 - Mentaiko French ¥290

On Sunday at 1:30 pm. I visited after a long time. It is located in the narrowed part of Teramachi Nijo. The entrance door has elaborate frosted glass, with beautiful design. The variety was reduced due to the time, so I brought back two types of deli bread, croissant, and milk soft bread. I thought it was a bakery specializing in hard bread, but the soft bread was also quite good.

I gradually made my way towards a shop in Kyoto while riding my bicycle, and finally arrived. It was in the evening, so the selection was limited, but I bought a "Chili Sauce Pizza" for 310 yen to have for breakfast the next morning. The chili sauce wasn't very spicy, more like a tomato sauce. The pizza had lots of toppings and a soft, chewy crust that was thin and crispy. It was about 20cm in diameter, so one piece was enough to satisfy my hunger. Thank you for the meal.

I was finally able to visit the shop I had been curious about! The shop wasn't very large, but it was lively with customers coming and going. I bought some traditional cheese, which was delicious, and I would like to try a different traditional series next time!

Hard, plump, delicious-looking breads everywhere... it's hard to choose! The tomato and black olive focaccia pizza-like bread was packed with flavor from the black olives. The traditional mentaiko bread was also delicious with a subtle mentaiko flavor. Both were really tasty. Thank you for the meal! (๑>◡<๑)

Kyoto is not only famous for its traditional Japanese cuisine, but also for its delicious bread! While visiting Kyoto City Hall, I bought croissants, mentaiko cheese bread, and pistachio palmiers. The croissant was fluffy and light, while the mentaiko cheese bread was unbelievably tasty - the balance of cheese, mentaiko, and bread was perfect. The pistachio palmiers were also very delicious! These two items alone are worth a visit. I look forward to trying more varieties next time.

In Tokyo, there is a bakery that also offers a wide variety of sweets. This was my first time visiting a shop in Kyoto, so I was excited. It was located a short walk from the Kyoto City Hall Station. The shop had a white exterior with a red awning that caught my eye. I arrived at 10:00 am on a weekday, but they had already sold out of many breads since they opened at 7:00 am. The bread was self-serve style, and it seemed like bread was the main focus in Kyoto. I purchased three items: Croissant for 260 yen - It had a rough texture and a fluffy finish. The texture was crispy and light with a good buttery flavor. Slices for 290 yen - A Danish pastry with cherries and custard cream. The sweet and sour flavor of the cherries combined well with the sweetness of the custard. Traditional for 290 yen - A hard bread with bacon, tomato, and cheese. The dough was chewy. Despite many items being sold out, I was able to get the croissant and I was satisfied with my purchase.

Arrived at the store at 10:00 on a regular day. The opening time was 7:00, so many items were already sold out. There were no other customers when I arrived, so I asked for permission to take photos. I bought three types of bread: Croissant for 260 yen, Suriizu for 290 yen, and Traditional for 290 yen.
Croissant: It has a nice buttery flavor and a crispy surface with a moist interior.
Suriizu: The cherry is fresh and delicious, not too sweet, with a great balance between the dough and the cherry. It goes well with the slightly moist croissant dough.
Traditional: Bacon, tomato, and cheese are prominent, providing a consistently delicious taste. The dough is more solid and packed compared to the fluffy texture. I'm curious about the other varieties of Suriizu as well. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing my night shift, I came to Kyoto today. I got off at Keihan Sanjo Station and used a shared bicycle. First, I went to this store. I asked for a recommendation, but I forgot the name. They have big sandwiches that are popular, but I don't like some of the ingredients inside. I bought a focaccia for 310 yen in cash. I took a bite outside and thought it was delicious. I will head south on my bicycle.

A few minutes' walk from Kyoto City Hall, near the intersection where the cars turn right, there is a bakery. I visited for takeout on a Sunday afternoon. Since it was already afternoon, there weren't many pastries left. Most of the pastries were individually wrapped, giving it a local bakery feel. There was a good balance between sweet and savory pastries, with a slight leaning towards the sweet side. They had a variety of croissants and danishes, with items like hot dogs and plain croissants also available. I bought a Croissant Banane, which had a banana on top of the croissant with chocolate and almond. The banana was soft and delicious, and the croissant was moist and tasty even after some time had passed. I would like to come back to try other croissants as they all looked tempting.
