On this day, in response to the tweet from the owner, I headed straight to Fukuchiyama with a "baboon." The ticket machine on that day. As always, colorful handwritten buttons. I ordered the limited negi black, small rice, and wae-dama as originally intended. My companion ordered the jidori seafood salt. By the way, I noticed that the Somis ticket machine can actually write quite a lot of text... The digital clock in front of the counter seat we were guided to. Gyoza no Ohsho's gyoza clock. Huh, the date is a year ahead lol. Soon the "small rice" arrived. Along with it, for some reason, a rare steak. Thank you very much for the delicious meal. Next, the jidori seafood salt arrived. The balance of chicken clear soup and seafood, oil content, saltiness, everything seems to be carefully calculated. Luxurious chashu, fried negi, white negi, green negi, menma. The ingredients are gorgeous and the colors are perfect. As for the noodles... according to the POP in the store, they are made by blending three types of flour: Ebe Seifun "Haruyutaka" first-class flour, Oda Shozo Seifun "Haruyokoi" first-class flour, and "Hororo." The water content is quite high, probably over 40%? (If I'm wrong, Somi-san, please forgive me with a laugh) In any case, the taste and texture show that the owner is sticking to making delicious food. The thin noodles are supple and chewy, with a strong wheat flavor in the first bite. This is quite elaborate... And the limited "negi black" on that day. Wow. What is this?! This negi! Looking at it from the side, it has a three-dimensional feel, like a tower of negi. I start eating by dipping this negi into the soy sauce black soup. It has a crunchy texture and the sweetness of the negi. Oh. And the rich wheat flavor of the chewy and moist noodles! The thick flat noodles, which are also water-rich like the jidori seafood salt, have a direct taste of wheat. Furthermore, the overwhelming chashu! The sharp black soy sauce soup that plays in harmony with the back fat! And the wae-dama. A menu that needs to be mixed immediately when it's ready. It comes out at the same time as the other ramen, so it gets a bit busy, but the mixed noodles are delicious on their own, and when combined with the jidori seafood salt soup, it's even better. All of the dishes were incredibly delicious as always.

Today, I went on a drive to the seaside in Kyoto after a long time. I arrived around 10:30 and luckily didn't have to wait to get in. I was debating between tsukemen and ramen at the ticket machine, but with the slightly autumnal air, I leaned towards ramen. I decided to try the "Ma-chan's Special Ramen" which was a salt version with bonito and dried sardines. The bowl was impressive, covered with bonito flakes. It had two types of chashu and menma hidden under the bonito flakes. The soup was based on fish broth, flavorful yet with a refreshing finish. The noodles were thick, flat curly noodles with a chewy texture that reminded me of wontons. It was delicious! After satisfying my hunger with ramen, I felt the pleasant weather and decided to continue driving towards the sea.

Katsuobushi Ramen for 1,200 yen, Hiyashi Tama for 350 yen, and Small Rice Bowl for 100 yen. 11:07 Arrived at the restaurant, 6th in line, purchased food tickets. 11:33 Entered the restaurant, seated. 11:46 Finally got my ramen, I've been wanting to try this place for a while since the weather is nice and it's my first visit on a motorcycle tour. The interior of the restaurant is like a vintage village vanguard style? Showa retro? My seat was by an old-fashioned sewing machine. The ramen was filled with bonito flakes and had medium-thick noodles. It was delicious. The Hiyashi Tama had thin noodles.

I tried the dried fish ramen for ¥1,150 at a shop I was curious about from reviews. The noodles were slightly thin and lacked firmness, but they complemented the soup well without overpowering it. The white chashu was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The soup had a hint of dried fish flavor but wasn't too strong, and had a clear appearance. Overall, the noodles, chashu, and soup were all well-balanced and harmonized, making it a very tasty bowl. Note that the restaurant doesn't have air conditioning, only a fan. I visited on a Saturday around 11 am and waited about 10 minutes outside and 30 minutes inside, so be aware if you're short on time.

On this day, I went on a trip with the Seishun 18 ticket. I headed from Kinosaki Onsen Station to Fukuchiyama Station, where I got a "Natsuteki Nyujouken" ticket and went to this shop that I had researched in advance. It's just a few minutes walk from Fukuchiyama Station. But man, it's so hot (;;*ω*;;) The highest temperature in Fukuchiyama on this day was 37.3℃! I was about to give up while waiting in line, but luckily there was no wait (^o^) I got the Katsuobushi for 1,200 yen at the ticket vending machine around 13:30 (´∀`)σポチッ Inside the shop, there is a rare 60s American-style interior for a ramen shop. I was seated at the counter in front of the air conditioner and waited for about 15 minutes before my bowl arrived. Let's dig in! The bowl was filled with a mountain of bonito flakes Σ(゚Д゚)‼ Underneath were two types of chashu, normal and rare, thick menma, and green onions. The noodles were flat and had a good elasticity and smooth throat feel. The soup was rich with bonito flavor and gradually simmered with dried fish. Although the soup seemed light, the back fat added another good flavor (^o^) Truly a shop with a rating of over 3.7 on Tabelog! I'm curious about the other menu items, but it's too far to just go there (T_T) I would love to visit this restaurant again if I have the chance. It was delicious! (๑´ڡ`๑) Thank you for the meal.

I visited the popular ramen shop "Sommies" in Fukuchiyama after several years. I had the chicken soy sauce ramen. First of all, the noodles were perfect for me, thin and delicious. They were easy to slurp, even for those not skilled at it. The soup looked oily but had a simple and refreshing taste, which I finished completely. The three types of chashu were all excellent, especially the thickly sliced rare chashu was outstanding. In addition to this, they offer a variety of delicious ramen options, so I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Fukuchiyama.

I had Ma-chan's whimsical ramen. A very unpredictable ramen arrived, haha. It was interesting. It tasted good. The popular noodle dish always looks delicious when other customers nearby are eating it, so I think I should try it next time, but for some reason, I always end up ordering the whimsical one.

In Fukuchiyama City, there is a delicious ramen shop aiming to be one of the top 100 in the area. The soup, made with local ingredients, and the hand-kneaded medium-thick noodles have a flavor that is addictive, and anyone who tries it will find it delicious. The only downside may be the price, which exceeds 1,000 yen.

I can't imagine a restaurant with a unique appearance of a salt ramen shop specializing in local chicken and seafood. The shop looks like a hamburger shop from the outside and the interior is one-of-a-kind. Not sure what to choose, I went for the classic option. The clear soup was rich in flavor, the noodles were thin and transparent like Inaniwa udon, and the ingredients were delicious. The three types of chashu were all tasty. While Fukuchiyama is known for "Tonkichi," this place was equally memorable.

"Katsuwo Niboshi" for 1,200 yen. This day, I made a little trip to Fukuchiyama after a while. I arrived around 10:20 and was about 17th in line. As expected, the first round was a miss when the store opened. I was at the front of the line for the second round. After waiting for about 30 minutes, I entered the shop. I sat at the counter at the back. Although I was tempted by the limited cold noodles, I decided to try the "Katsuwo Niboshi" which I hadn't tried before. There were many options on the menu that day, so it took some time for the operation and I received my bowl 30 minutes later. The bowl came with two types of pork chashu, menma, green onions, and the recommended bonito flakes from Somi's, which were very thin at 0.018mm. The soup had pork fat floating on top and had a dark soy sauce color. It seemed like the soup would have a strong flavor. Let's try it! First, the soup... The delicious flavor of the niboshi spread out, followed by the bonito dashi. The soy sauce was sharp, and the sweetness and richness of the pork fat blended in more than I expected. Both types of chashu were tasty, but as always, the charcoal-grilled one had a wonderful smoky flavor. The well-seasoned menma was also good. The noodles were medium-thick and smooth, with a good texture that paired well with the soup. Somi's limited edition noodles are always delicious. I would like to try the cold noodles next time if they are still available. Thank you for the meal!"

Arrived at 10:10 on a rainy Sunday and managed to park in the gravel parking lot just in time. The limited edition "THE★ramen" for 1200 yen had noodles that were medium thick and had a satisfying chewy texture. I wanted to keep slurping it endlessly. The soup had a rich flavor without being too heavy, and the taste and aroma were great. The chashu, menma, and green onions were all carefully made, and it was a very satisfying bowl. I tried the "mixed egg" for 350 yen for the first time. When it was served, they kindly explained how to eat it: "You can mix it right away, eat it as it is, or add soup to it, it's all good." It was also delicious with plenty of ingredients. However, eating this made the ramen get cold, so next time I'll think carefully about what to order. Thank you for the meal, I will definitely visit again!

I had work in Fukuchiyama, so I checked out this highly rated place on Tabelog. There were already people lining up before the store opened. You buy a meal ticket first and then line up. I asked for a recommendation from someone ahead of me, and they suggested the tsukemen, so I went with that. It cost 1,400 yen! The thick noodles took a bit of time to arrive, but when they did, they were beautifully presented with the soy broth. Among all the soy-based tsukemen I've had, this one felt the most well-balanced. The soy sauce flavor was not too spicy. The noodles were chewy and delicious. As I was slurping up the broth, they brought me a soup refill. The soup was also tasty. When combined with the dipping sauce, it was a perfect match! While waiting inside the restaurant, they asked us to wear masks properly, covering our noses. I would rate this experience 5 stars.

"Jidori and seafood salt ramen" for 1,100 yen. March 2023. It had been a while since I went on a short expedition to Fukuchiyama. It had been about 10 months since I last visited Somi's. I arrived at 11:25 AM, just before the opening time, and there was already a line of 5 people, which quickly grew to over 10 people by the time they opened. It was a weekday, but the popularity of this place was evident. This time, I chose the "Jidori and seafood salt ramen." I usually go for the soy sauce or limited edition ramen, so this was my first time trying the default salt ramen. The bowl arrived promptly with three types of pork chashu, menma, fried onions, green and white onions. The soup was clear with a moderate amount of oil visible. Let's dig in! First, the soup... the umami of the chicken hits you first, followed by a subtle seafood flavor. The salt seasoning is mild without any sharp edges, just a nice umami from the salt itself. The overall balance of the soup was excellent. It was incredibly delicious and easy to drink. The occasional aroma of the fried onions and the richness of the chicken oil added to the experience. The noodles were medium-thin straight noodles that paired well with the soup. All three types of chashu were delicious, but the smoked one stood out the most. The menma had a unique flavor, different from before but still enjoyable. It was a delicious bowl of ramen. If I can resist the allure of the limited edition next time, I would like to try the tsukemen. Thank you for the meal!"

Kyoto Lunch Jidori Shoyu Ramen with seasoned egg for 1,100 yen. This popular restaurant in Fukuchiyama has received positive reviews for its price and quality. The visual presentation is impressive, but the soup was lukewarm, making it hard to judge the taste. The seasoned egg was served a bit late after the ramen, and overall, the service was too quick. The ramen itself was good, but it felt more like a side dish than a main course.

Somie's Ramen Shop (Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto Prefecture) opened in October 2013, run by a former clothing store owner. They specialize in ramen made with homemade noodles and no artificial seasonings, offering a unique USA-inspired atmosphere. One of their popular dishes is the Chicken Shoyu Ramen priced at ¥1050. The broth is clear yet rich, combining the umami of chicken with a balanced mix of depth and sharpness. The noodles are thin and chewy, with a clean texture that pairs well with the broth. Toppings include carefully prepared pork shoulder and belly, tender duck meat, flavorful seasoned egg, soft bamboo shoots, and green onions. Overall, the Chicken Shoyu Ramen offers a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that create a satisfying and hearty meal.

There were about 10 people in line at Juubei, so I decided to try my luck at Somi's where there was no line. It had been many years since my last visit. I ordered the Special Intense Niboshi Ramen for 1100 yen, with extra rare chashu for 150 yen, and a small bowl of rice for 100 yen, totaling 1350 yen. The soup had a soy sauce base with the flavors of bonito and dried sardines, and it was clear that it was made without any artificial seasonings. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles made with plenty of water, which I personally enjoy. The toppings included additional rare chashu, bamboo shoot, and chashu, all of which were delicious. The bamboo shoot had a unique and exceptional taste. Upon entering the restaurant, they checked our temperature, provided hand sanitizer, and explained that we should wear masks and eat quietly. Some may find this annoying, but I personally appreciate the precautions being taken. I used to visit this place often when it first opened, and I remember having conversations about how they didn't want to get too busy with their ramen-making hobby. Now, it has become a popular spot with long lines. The prices have gone up since then, with the regular salt and soy sauce ramen costing 1050 yen and the Special Intense Niboshi Ramen costing 1100 yen. After trying the special ramen today, I am convinced that the regular Niboshi salt ramen is the best.

When you hear that something is delicious, you naturally want to try it! And if it looks tasty, you also naturally want to go there! So, I went to check it out! The place is a little walk from Fukuchiyama Station! A funky fashion lady greeted me warmly! Today, I had the limited Char siu ramen. The Char siu was really delicious and thickly sliced! The soup had a strong bonito flavor, a bit cloudy, and it mixed well with the noodles. It was really delicious! I definitely want to visit again! Thank you for the meal.

Here is the translation of the restaurant review: "On January 1, 2023, I decided to have my first lunch of the year at a restaurant that was open on New Year's Day. I arrived around 10:30 am to find about 15 people waiting in line. I missed the first round of seating, but eventually got a special menu item - the Hinai-Jidori chicken soy sauce ramen and a thick-sliced rare steak made from Kyoto Tanba Kogen pork. After waiting for almost an hour, I finally got a taste of the thick-sliced rare steak. It had a deliciously fragrant aroma and was packed with juicy flavor. Then, the chicken soy sauce ramen was served. The noodles were thin and reminiscent of somen noodles, paired with a light soy sauce broth infused with chicken fat and flavor. Alternating between bites of the steak and slurping the ramen, I found that the contrasting textures and flavors complemented each other perfectly. Overall, it was a slightly indulgent and satisfying first lunch of the year. "
