おでんおかず
Visited for the first time at around 17:13 on a Saturday in July 2023. "Daiko" is a popular Chinese restaurant located within walking distance from Nijo Station. Upon arrival, there was one group of customers waiting for the opening. Later, the staff came to confirm the number of people and names of those waiting in line. With that, we were confirmed as the second group to enter. We entered at the scheduled time and were seated. The restaurant was not completely full, but almost all seats were taken as it was just after opening. We checked the menu and ordered: Sapporo draft beer (medium size) for 880 yen, Kyoto Hasunaga Mine Farm's drool chicken (half portion) for 1,100 yen, authentic beef mapo tofu (small portion) for 1,320 yen, and teriyaki donkichi for 1,100 yen. The service from the staff, even before entering the restaurant, was very polite! We started with a beer, and while enjoying it, the drool chicken (half portion) arrived. The quality of the chicken meat was excellent, and the seasoning was good, complementing the beer well. After finishing the chicken, we mixed the prepared glass noodles with the sauce in a separate dish and enjoyed it to the last bite. Then, the teriyaki donkichi and beef mapo tofu (small portion) arrived. The popular dish at "Daiko," teriyaki donkichi, was a delicious combination of sweet and savory pork, egg, and rice. Although it was a regular portion, it was quite filling. The beef mapo tofu (small portion) also had a decent amount and a very authentic flavor. It paired well with the beer, as well as the teriyaki donkichi. With the dishes we ordered, we were stuffed! We enjoyed a hearty and delicious meal! Thank you for the meal! The service from the staff from serving to payment was impeccable. It is a very high-quality local Chinese restaurant.
