The restaurant does not allow photography, so there are no photos of the sushi. I wonder why many sushi restaurants do not allow photography? Maybe because sushi starts to lose its shape as soon as it's made? Perhaps the chefs want you to eat it before it loses its freshness? I had about 10 pieces of sushi. The restaurant doesn't have photos on Tabelog, and there are hardly any on Instagram either. The rice was firm, and there were a lot of shellfish and white fish toppings. I made a same-day reservation, and the restaurant was empty, so it was easy to use. The head chef seems quiet, so it might feel awkward if you go alone.

A photo-free restaurant! It all started with Sushi Roku, with a course of about 15,000 yen per person. The appetizers were all ordinary in taste, but the sushi was delicious. The only tasty ones were the conger eel, gizzard shad, and the last one, the egg. It started in 2006, and the head chef at Sushi Roku was friendly and made the experience enjoyable.

The name of the restaurant, "NG," comes from the fact that it started in 2006. We chose the course with appetizers and the course with sushi. We started with mozuku seaweed, followed by sea bream, bonito, and tsubugai (with wasabi and salt). The crab soup was served warm and the sushi rice was seasoned with red vinegar. The most delicious dishes were the conger eel and the final tamago (egg). The conger eel was fluffy and the tamago was sweet like creme brulee. The chef was very friendly and welcoming. The total cost for two people was 30,000 yen. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this place with a senior colleague and enjoyed eating sushi and drinking wine. It was a mature way to enjoy sushi. The conversation was so interesting that the sushi didn't leave a strong impression, but the taste was definitely delicious.

A friend recommended this place to me and I made a reservation to visit. At first, the chef was quiet, but the tasting of different sea urchins was memorable. The variety of fresh ingredients and the skillful preparation resulted in a high level of sushi. The cost performance was also good. I think it might be the best hidden sushi restaurant around. The unique touches that set it apart from other popular places are truly impressive. I look forward to visiting again.

There was no menu or explanation, so I couldn't really understand the system... I think it was a set course, but I'm not sure if it was just a sushi course or if it included other dishes. It would be nice if they explained a bit. I ended up getting the omakase sushi. I think it's probably delicious, but I couldn't really taste it. They might not be very welcoming to first-timers (lol). The price was high even though I only had sushi.

Michelin one-star rated restaurant with a course menu of hand-rolled sushi for ¥18,000. Particularly impressive dishes include the clam and bamboo shoot appetizer, as well as the mini rice bowl with two types of sea urchin. The portion sizes are just right, and both the head chef and the hostess are very pleasant.

Beer, 1 cup of sake, 4 pieces of sushi, 6 cans, the shari and neta are quite large. Everything is highly recommended. The total cost is 16,000 yen per person.

You might think it's a unique sushi restaurant if it's your first time! However, once you enter, you may feel a bit nervous due to the atmosphere. If you want to enjoy delicious sushi, you should definitely visit this place!

I had a reservation mix-up, so I decided to visit Sushi Roku in Nishi-Temma on a whim. I had been curious about this place since it had received a Michelin one-star rating over 10 years ago. I can't share photos due to the no photography policy, but I started with rice and octopus, followed by a sushi course starting with flounder. The sushi was excellent and my expectations were high. Then, I enjoyed bonito, whelk, sea bream, mantis shrimp, young sweetfish, monkfish liver, grilled beltfish, a soup of beltfish and onions, and pickled hagfish roe. The nigiri sushi included baby squid, swordtip squid, a comparison of sea urchin, horse mackerel, fatty tuna, ark shell, conger eel, and a sweet egg resembling a dessert. The fatty tuna with pickled radish was a highlight, even though it wasn't flashy. The sushi was delicious, and I loved the rice. The head chef wasn't very talkative but had a pleasant and interesting demeanor. I had a great experience and would love to visit again. The budget was 23,000 yen.

Sushi restaurant in Nishi-Tenma. I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, as I had passed by it several times. The interior of the restaurant had a clean and upscale feel with a white wooden counter. The owner, who was younger than I expected, and his wife ran the place together, creating a surprisingly cozy atmosphere. I, who was not used to going to sushi restaurants, was able to relax and enjoy the meal. I ordered a light appetizer and mainly nigiri sushi omakase. The vinegar-seasoned rice was firm and to my liking! Everything was delicious, but what stood out to me were the medium fatty tuna, blackthroat sea perch, ark shell, and a small bowl with two types of sea urchin! After eating a variety of dishes, the total bill, including drinks, came out to just under 15,000 yen. It's more reasonable compared to sushi restaurants in Kita-Shinchi. It was a bit disappointing that I couldn't take photos (I've been relying on photos a lot lately, so I'm a bit regretful). But it was a wonderful restaurant, so it's okay!

At a Michelin three-star restaurant, there was a mix-up with the reservation date, but the guest kindly suggested trying this restaurant instead. The restaurant is long and narrow, and we sat at the counter for a spontaneous meal. The sushi is mainly omakase style, with vinegared rice that may not suit everyone's taste. The tuna was decent, and the sea urchin from Awaji and Hokkaido was delicious. The salt-grilled Alfonsino that came out in the middle was very tasty. Despite the mishap with the reservation, the chef at this restaurant did a great job, and I am grateful. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant when I was in Osaka as it was near my hotel. The interior has about 8 counter seats lined up in a row and a table seat at the back. The space between the counter seats and the back wall is quite narrow, making it feel crowded with people passing by. The restaurant is quite small, run by the owner and what seemed to be his wife. The customers were mostly industry people, hostess-like couples, and wealthy-looking ladies who seemed like regulars. One of the ladies mentioned loudly, "There are a lot of doctors and police officers who come here!" It's surprising that police officers have money to spend (laughs). I ordered omakase, and various dishes were served, with sushi pieces displayed on wooden tags for customers to choose from. It's a sushi restaurant focused more on drinking. Not really recommended for those who want to savor sushi slowly. The dishes included: white sweetfish, seared bonito, ark shell, foie gras, grilled edamame, simmered sardines, nigiri sushi with shrimp, egg, salmon roe, kohada, lean tuna, fatty tuna, seared barracuda, seared saury. For drinks, I had draft beer and a couple of types of sake.

In Osaka, there is a sushi restaurant in Nishi-Temma. The selection of sake is quite good, which is nice. I ordered some appetizers before getting the sushi, about 5 or 6 dishes were served, but I wasn't completely impressed. It wasn't bad, but it didn't quite match my taste. I didn't feel very excited as I transitioned to the sushi, but the sushi itself was good. Maybe the appetizers were a letdown, causing a bias in my perception. The sushi rice might just suit my preferences. Overall, the ingredients seemed to be of good quality, and it may simply be a matter of personal taste that didn't quite click with me. If you're interested, give it a try. Upon revisiting the restaurant in Osaka to confirm my previous mixed feelings, I can say that it was delicious this time. Starting with a refreshing shellfish appetizer, followed by flavorful sea bream and saury sashimi, tuna sashimi with a perfect balance of acidity and richness, and well-prepared grilled dishes, the appetizers alone blew away my previous impression. The sushi was also excellent, with the vinegared rice and toppings perfectly complementing each other. From the sushi to the soup at the end, my craving for fish was completely satisfied. The only slight disappointment was the oyster sushi, which felt more like an appetizer, but the flavor of the oyster itself was delicious, so it was still enjoyable. The sake and freshly grated wasabi added to the experience, and overall, I would rate my satisfaction at around 4.2 this time. Balancing between my previous rating of 3.5 and my recent experience, I would now rate it at 4.0. This might be the best restaurant in Kansai that suits my taste. I apologize for my previous uncertainty and recommend it.

I tried to make a reservation at Sushi Roku several times in the past, but it was always fully booked. However, this time I was able to make a reservation over a month in advance for two people at 7:00 PM on a weekday. While they do offer a la carte options, I opted for the omakase course which was priced at around 10,000 yen and included 2-3 dishes and sushi. I requested the course at a similar price point to my favorite sushi restaurant in Shinchi, which is around 15,000 yen. Although I couldn't take photos due to the no photography policy, I remember the meal as follows: - Appetizer: Squid shumai, sashimi (ark shell, flounder, tuna), soup (shirako, etc.), ankimo, simmered abalone, etc. - Sushi: Fatty tuna, gizzard shad, marinated sea bream, squid, sea urchin, salmon roe, conger eel, saury, etc. - Lastly, homemade tamagoyaki (rolled omelette) and sweet chestnut paste dessert. The course was well-paced and satisfying, with each dish showcasing high-quality ingredients. The simplicity of each dish, combined with skillful pairings and garnishes, enhanced the flavors and created a refined Japanese dining experience. The sushi was expertly crafted to my liking, with slightly larger rice portions that were easy to eat and filling. The sea urchin was served in two varieties (from Hokkaido and Nagasaki) for a fun comparison. The standout dishes were the meticulously made tamagoyaki, which was like a dessert, and the delicious chestnut paste. I also enjoyed a glass of draft beer and a serving of Iwaki Jyu sake, bringing the total bill to just under 35,000 yen. While it may not be a place I can visit often due to the price, I was truly satisfied and would love to return for special occasions. The service was a bit slow-paced, with the dining experience lasting just over 2 hours. Fortunately, it was a private dining experience that day, and the tranquil and cozy atmosphere made for a pleasant meal.
