A popular ramen shop in Fushimi, located under the guard of the Kintetsu Nara Line, Momoyama Go-ryoumae Station. It has been around for over 20 years. It has become a favorite spot for my sons now, and we visited for lunch with my two sons and wife. Despite living nearby in Fushimi where there are many ramen shops, I never felt motivated to go until now. We went on a Saturday afternoon around 1 o'clock, and as expected, there were about 5 groups waiting in line. The staff efficiently guided each group to their seats without being told the number of people in the group. The menu was handed out near the front of the line, where you could choose the ramen you wanted to eat. My sons mentioned that the menu used to be just text without photos, but it has changed now. You can choose between "original flavor" and "new flavor" for the soup, as well as the type of chashu, extra noodles, and toppings like half-boiled egg, kimchi, and bean sprouts for free. You also have to specify the firmness of the noodles. The service was excellent, but as an older gentleman, I found the complicated ordering process a bit tedious. I ordered the regular original flavor ramen with firm noodles, regular chashu, regular green onions, with an egg, kimchi, and gyoza on the side. There was no ramen and gyoza set menu, but there was a ramen, gyoza, and rice set which seemed like a good deal, so I gave the rice to my son. The ramen arrived within a few minutes of ordering, but the gyoza was a bit delayed. The ramen was a soy sauce pork bone broth, rich but not overpowering, and paired well with the thin noodles. My sons enjoyed the regular chashu, saying the belly was a bit heavy. The gyoza was delicious, and the sweetness of the cabbage complemented the saltiness of the ramen. My sons agreed that if it's a ramen shop in this area, this would be the one to go to. The taste is definitely top-notch, but the waiting in line and ordering process makes me hesitant to return.
