In Kichijoji, I visited a newly opened restaurant on the second floor of Excel Hotel Tokyu. The high ceilings and chic atmosphere make the interior very clean and inviting. Despite some initial awkwardness, the floor staff are enthusiastic and welcoming. The menu is still a work in progress, but all dishes are well-balanced and delicious. The beef stew, in particular, is visually appealing with plenty of ingredients, and the meat is tender and melts in your mouth. The demiglace sauce shows the time and effort put into it. The seafood soup is clear and has a strong umami flavor. All dishes have a mild saltiness and are very enjoyable. Thank you for the meal, I will definitely visit again.

I visited for a reservation, with 1 person, stayed for 2.5 hours, and paid 6000 yen per person. I had an Earl Grey afternoon tea. They use Gclef tea, which is really delicious. I was very satisfied with the all-you-can-drink option for this tea. The menu included Earl Grey jelly and milk chocolate pudding, Earl Grey and double chocolate mousse, Earl Grey cupcake and lemon cream Basque cheesecake, Earl Grey macaron, red tea duck and green asparagus with scallions, roast beef sandwich with pickled herring and dill, and red tea and plain scones.

I visited for afternoon tea. The sweets, scones, and light meals were all delicious and impressive! It was convenient to be able to declare what I didn't like when making a reservation. Perhaps because I visited on a weekday Monday afternoon, the atmosphere in the restaurant was quiet and pleasant. The red tea macaron was really delicious, I wish they sold them individually. I have specific preferences when it comes to scones, but I was impressed by the delicious crispy texture and buttery flavor. I would like to visit again.

I visited around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and ordered a cake set. Despite the rain, the restaurant was quite busy with customers enjoying afternoon tea. The atmosphere at the beautiful hotel was lovely. When I asked, the staff also offered decaf café lattes.

"It lacks a bit of luxury... Previously, it was the First Hotel, but now it has been renovated into a Tokyu hotel. I used to visit the buffet at the First Hotel occasionally, so I was looking forward to seeing what the buffet would be like in the new hotel... However, the buffet corner is now very compact, less than a quarter of what it used to be, and as a result, the variety of dishes is very limited... The price is slightly lower compared to hotel buffets in the city center, but at 4400 yen... I'd rather pay a bit more and choose a proper hotel buffet in Shinjuku... On the other hand, if I'm looking for a more casual buffet, there are various options in Kichijoji for under 2000 yen. It seems unlikely that I will revisit this place."

Last year, in October 2022, Excel Hotel Tokyu opened at the former First Hotel Uchizato. On the 2nd floor of this Excel Hotel is "Lounge & Dining SORAE." My husband and I went for a lunch buffet during the New Year. The vegetables were recommended, and there was a wide variety of tomato types! We enjoyed plenty of vegetables. The happy drink corner had a good selection of coffee, but we were more pleased with the wide variety of tea options. It's very much appreciated to have restaurants open during the New Year when most places are closed. Thank you for the delicious meal!

It was my first time visiting the restaurant on its opening day, and I had a pleasant dining experience in the festive atmosphere with congratulatory flowers. I was so focused on eating that I didn't have time to take many photos. The lunch seemed to be buffet-style only, so I didn't have the luxury of taking photos to eat within the time limit. They serve freshly made minestrone soup to your table and have a corner where they provide freshly made pasta. These two are the freshly made dishes. The food was delicious, and the quality of the desserts was high. They seem to focus on vegetable dishes, so I would like to try more vegetable dishes next time. The high ceiling with an open feel creates a good atmosphere, and I thought it would be great if they also offered a la carte or set lunches in the future. As I am getting older, I can't eat buffet meals as much anymore...
