203rd edition! The shop I was curious about ~Le Petit Mec~【Purchased items】・Chestnut Danish (Imadegawa store)・Croissant (Imadegawa store)・Prosciutto Baguette (Hibiya store)・Sansho Pepper Baguette (Hibiya store)・Shiso and Bacon Bread (Hibiya store)*Products available may vary by store. A bakery I had decided to visit when I went to Kyoto♪ I also visited the main store in Kyoto and the Hibiya store in Tokyo✨ The Imadegawa store in Kyoto has a colorful interior, while the Hibiya store in Tokyo has a stylish atmosphere! Both stores have seating areas, so you can buy and eat inside the shop♪ The bread from Le Petit Mec has a strong wheat flavor and aroma, and personally, I think the hard bread is particularly delicious! They have a wide variety of hard bread, with many types of baguettes with fillings, and the Sansho Pepper Baguette I bought this time is super tasty♪ The Hibiya store always seems to have a line no matter when you go. The most French-like bakery, Le Petit Mec, I would love for you to try it at least once✨ For those who are interested, please check it out!Recommended shop information【Imadegawa store】Location: 1F, Daishin Mezone Nishijin Imadegawa, Moto Kitakoji-cho, Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto City, KyotoHours: 8:00-18:00 (Eat-in until 17:00, Last order)Closed: NonePayment: Cash, Card, Electronic money, QR code payment【Hibiya store】Location: 1-2-2 Yurakucho, Chiyoda-ku, TokyoAccess: About 5 minutes on foot from Yurakucho Station, About 2 minutes on foot from Hibiya StationHours: 8:00-20:00 (Last order at 19:30)Closed: As per Hibiya ChantePayment: Cash, Card, Electronic money#LePetitMec #lepetitmec #ルプチメック #プチメック #bread #bakery #Frenchbread #Kyoto bakery #popular bakery #famous bakery #Kyoto gourmet #Tokyo bakery #Kyoto walk #Imadegawa #Hibiya bakery #Hibiya gourmet #Tokyo gourmet

I visited for the first time after 12:30. I ordered a plate set for 1200 yen in the eat-in space. The combination of cheese and bacon was good, and I ate it all up. The acidity of the dressing was strong, I would have preferred it to be a bit milder. As expected from Nishijin, the quality of the bakery is high!

The bread with shiso and bacon has more bacon chunks than expected. The fluffy dough is filled with shiso and bacon. This bread is perfect with alcohol. The bread with plum and cream cheese has a nice touch with the plum compote. The cream cheese is also delicious. Enjoy it with wine.

I have visited various restaurants like omake shops and Kuro Mec, but the Akamec in Imadegawa had the most variety and was the most exciting place. The food was truly delicious, especially the sandwiches which were amazing in the summer.

Genuine bread is something I tend to overeat because it's so delicious. I recently tried a meal that I couldn't quite define or categorize. There were various people mixed in, so it's hard to describe the atmosphere. Of course, I appreciate bakeries that even provide a restroom, but some can be a bit too fancy and require caution. If it's just for takeout, then it's safe (the hygiene inside the bakery can vary – in Kyoto, there seems to be a lot of small flies). I may not be able to provide specific comments on good bread. The hot dog from the French bakery was very filling but quite delicious. The donut with peach paste (not jam, but more like melted gelato) was memorable and I want to try it again. The puff pastry items were consistently crispy. But the most memorable thing would be the café au lait! The coffee seems more fragrant than regular hot coffee, and it's a new experience to have warm milk served separately. It's very French and interesting. I definitely want to try their sandwiches in the store next time!

While admiring Tenmangu Shrine from the car window and chatting with my mother over tea, we decided to visit a lovely red shop we saw. It turned out to be Petit Meck in Hibiya, which we have visited before. My mother wanted to try their shaved ice, so we opted for takeout. Since it was hot outside, we didn't want the cream-based dessert to melt while we were drinking tea, so we reluctantly passed on the sweet treats. Instead, we got a baguette, a kashi pan, a cheese focaccia-like bread, and a potato and cheese bread. The potato and cheese bread was small and round, with half a potato tucked inside, complementing the cheese perfectly. The cheese focaccia had herbs sprinkled throughout, adding a nice touch. Next time, I want to try the recommended milk French bread with rum raisins. When I pulled out my favorite Starbucks eco bag to carry the bread, they kindly placed it inside for me, mentioning that Starbucks also sells such bags. They even complimented the bag, showing great customer service with a smile.

Ann Citron 290 yen Raspberry and red bean Danish 330 yen
Souvenir series for my wife
We stopped by Tanpopo and Toriro on the way back. It's about a 5-minute walk from Toriro. The store mainly sells hard bread, about 70%, and I wanted to eat some side dishes or tarts, so I looked around the store and bought the above two items. I saw the combination of raspberry and red bean for the first time, so out of curiosity, I also bought the lemon bread which seemed perfect for this season. When I got home, my wife and I tried the Ann Citron first, and it turned out to be a lemon-flavored red bean bun! I bought it based on the atmosphere without reading the name or description, so it was a surprising red bean overlap! Well, I like red bean, so it's fine, but the red bean has a strong lemon flavor and is very refreshing. My wife seemed to like the bread dough, and she kept saying how delicious the bread here is! I plan to have the raspberry for breakfast tomorrow! Thank you for the meal.

I have been using this bakery for several years now. Most of the time, I purchase tarts, which are highly praised by my family. I used to also buy the Chapata bread with pate inside, which was delicious, but they discontinued it. Recently, I decided to try the Chapata and Milk France bread again. The Provence-style chicken Chapata (480 yen) was incredibly delicious with chicken, olives, lettuce, anchovy oil, sun-dried tomatoes, and anchovy paste inside. It was labeled as the most popular item, and I agree with that completely. The strong flavor of the paste combined well with the slightly oily Chapata, creating a unified dish. The Milk France bread (270 yen) is also popular in many bakeries, but this one here is the best. It has walnuts in a soft baguette with milk cream, perfectly integrated. While some Milk France breads may not blend well, this one does, probably due to the walnuts. The bakery has a French-inspired design, and the products reflect that. The customers seem to come here specifically for the bread and pastries, rather than just because it's nearby. Although the prices are not cheap, considering the variety of ingredients in the Chapata, it seems reasonable. It may not be suitable for everyday consumption due to the high fat content, but it's worth visiting occasionally.

The restaurant is located about a 15-minute walk from Imadegawa Station on the Karasuma Subway Line. They have a sandwich called Jambon Fromage for 500 yen, which is exclusive to the Imadegawa store. I went there specifically for this sandwich because I love Brie cheese. The aged ham and creamy Brie cheese are very delicious. The baguette is also chewy and satisfying.

This is my second visit to this shop. It seems like each Petit Mec store sells quite different products, so I'm not confident if I have been to this branch before... (laughs) It means "little boy." Even without knowing much, the deliciousness and the atmosphere of the store are evident. The bread is simply delicious. The variety of products is a plus. The bread in Figure 3, the lentil "meat" bun, has a rich aroma from the pastry and a full-bodied texture from the beans that can rival minced meat. This item is definitely recommended! In addition, the tarts are also good, and you can have a fun time inside the store. The coffee is nothing special, but the colors and patterns of the tablecloths, the various decorations inside the store, will keep you intrigued as you sit. Furthermore, the bread made with natural yeast and raisins, figs, walnuts, etc., had a much stronger satisfaction compared to other stores. In a time when "homemade" and "natural yeast" are common in every store, a store that makes bread with its own unique natural yeast is even more rare... In conclusion: It is reassuring to see the label "natural yeast" in this store. Highly recommended. (By the way, in Kyoto, it is true that bread shops seem to be quite independent without much influence from the "industry," giving off a sense of individuality...)

I know it's been over a month already, but I want to share my memories of my trip to Kyoto. I was recommended a wonderful cafe called Le Petit Mec Imadegawa by one of my followers before my trip. The exterior and interior of the cafe had a foreign feel to it, and there were many foreign customers too, adding to the international atmosphere. They had a great selection of hard bread and baked sweets like tarts. The hard bread was dense and chewy, with a great wheat flavor. The staff were friendly and kind, which added to the overall experience. I believe that the people make a place special, not just the food. Here is the information for the cafe: Le Petit Mec Imadegawa, 159 Motokitaokoji-cho, Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto. Opening hours are from 8:00 to 18:00, and they are open every day.

I rode my bicycle and had breakfast at this shop. The atmosphere is so nice that for a moment, you forget you are in Japan, with French radio broadcasts and French signs on the walls. I bought a chestnut pie for 275 yen, a raspberry tart for 117 yen, and an iced cafe au lait for 440 yen. The bread on the tray was freshly baked for me. Both the chestnut pie and the raspberry tart were filled generously and tasted delicious. I got so tempted that I want to come back for a snack next time.

I visited a bakery with decent reviews on word-of-mouth recommendations. The reviews on Tabelog (Japanese restaurant review website) were quite reliable. Both the sweet bread and savory bread were delicious. Especially the cheese bread was exceptionally good. The location is also convenient, so I will definitely visit again. They have seating available inside the store, so next time I will try eating there.

A famous bakery in Kyoto known for its delicious bread and beautiful interior. I visited for breakfast and enjoyed the Croissant aux Amandes the most. It had been a while since I had breakfast, and the atmosphere and taste were both fantastic.

5/3, Bakery tour in Kyoto and Shiga! Visited store 2: Le Petit Mec Imadegawa Store in Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto City. A famous bakery originating from Kyoto. The main store is located here, known as "Akamec". I was worried about the long line due to its popularity, but there didn't seem to be a crowd in front of the store. However, once inside, the place was packed with people! I lined up and slowly made my way to pick out some bread. I tried the Focaccia made with Kyoto wheat. It seems to be a limited product for Imadegawa and Oike stores. It uses Kyoto wheat and local ingredients from Kyoto. The bell pepper inside is definitely a standout. The Croissant Amande series is all elegantly made. The Lantille, Petit Pain au Fromage, and other cute-sized breads are also available. The Baguette Amatriciana, Brioche, and other simple products also exude charm. The Croissant au Beurre seems to be the most popular item in the store. I had to get it! The Milk France series placed on the central table included Walnut Bread and French Bread types. Both are undoubtedly delicious! There were also tarts and scones available. Ciabatta, Olivier, Baton en Chocolat, Cranberry Chocolate, Orange and Walnut bread... There were plenty of hard breads, creating an excellent atmosphere. Sausage-filled bread, Lyonnaise, and other deli-style hard breads as well! Baguettes and sandwich breads were lined up next to the register. And I found out there is an eat-in space at the back of the store. It's too good to have a relaxing time with such amazing bread and elegant space. Since I have more places to visit, I left the store for now. I tried the purchased bread on 5/12 (Fri). In the morning, I had the Orange and Walnut bread. The bread dough seems to be made with homemade raisin yeast. The refreshing taste of orange peel and the rich texture of walnuts make the bread more and more delicious as you chew. For lunch, I had the Croissant au Beurre and Bacon Fromage. The Croissant au Beurre has a moist and fluffy buttery aroma in a delicate dough. The simplicity of it allows you to directly enjoy the goodness of the ingredients. And the Bacon Fromage. The crust has a great chewy texture, while the inside is moist and soft. The savory flavor of bacon and the richness of the cheese are addictive. The hint of black pepper adds a nice kick. I was able to enjoy the bread from this famous bakery.

Kyoto Imadegawa, Panwest Hyakumeiten, and Lupuchimek Imadegawa are all popular bakeries in Kyoto. Lupuchimek's Imadegawa store has a cute exterior that gives off a Studio Ghibli vibe, creating a nice atmosphere. Lupuchimek is known for their delicious bread, especially their hard bread. This time, I tried the fig and walnut bread. The bread has a subtle acidity that pairs well with the sweet figs, and the walnuts add a nice touch. It's truly a fantastic hard bread. It's no wonder that Lupuchimek is popular in Kyoto, which has the highest bread consumption in Japan. I was truly delighted. Thank you for the meal.

Come to Nishijin, it's a great area! Around Imadegawa Street, there are many delicious bakeries. One of them is "Le Petit Mec" on Imadegawa Street. The owner, who trained in France, opened this French-style bakery 25 years ago. There are 5 shops in Kyoto, 1 in Tokyo, and 3 in Osaka, with this being the first shop. The interior is reminiscent of a French bistro. You can also take out, but I recommend having a leisurely lunch there. Croissant au Beurre for 230 yen: The famous croissant is light and fluffy with 18 layers. It's crispy and moist, with a rich buttery flavor. It's really delicious. Walnut and Mozzarella Cheese for 300 yen: The gentle walnut with a hint of cheese makes you want to have wine. Sosison Morney (price forgotten, probably 400-500 yen): I also wanted to try something hearty, so I chose a thick sausage bread. The hard texture is just right, and it's topped with a generous amount of Morney sauce made with bouillon and cheese. This sauce is surprisingly delicious. The quality is high for a bakery, so even though it's a bit pricey, it's worth it. They also have lunch menus other than bread!

I couldn't resist and started eating. It was my first time dining in, and the apple tart that I had been curious about for a long time was really delicious. I also tried a fig and nut tart from a trial batch, and it was so tasty that I couldn't wait for it to become a regular item. The radio was playing foreign languages the whole time, surrounded by French, and foreign customers visited frequently, creating an exotic atmosphere. I really liked the iced coffee too, it had a nice bitterness to it.

Ordered item: Cranberry Chocolate (250 yen)
I usually frequent the very popular and famous Lupチメック store near Karasuma Oike, but on this day, I decided to visit the Imadegawa store. The chocolate was not too sweet, and it seemed like it would go well with wine.

The inside of the shop had a calm atmosphere. It was around 3 pm and there were many types of bread, all smelling delicious. There were different kinds of bread, with numbers like No.1 and 2 written on them, so it was easy to see which ones were popular. I was glad they were still available. This time, I bought a croissant, an apple pie, and a long bread with a sausage inside. They were all delicious!
