It is a bakery located between Kyoto and Nara. It is situated in a peaceful location with a white house-like appearance and not many buildings around. The interior of the store is surprisingly stylish with a modern design featuring a deep indigo color, contrasting the exterior. I felt that they have a lot of hard-type bread. I bought the ◯ Shokupan for 849 yen, and it seemed delicious even as it is. The crust is thin and crispy, with a moist and fluffy texture inside, slightly sweet with a melt-in-your-mouth sensation. Even the next day, the moisture content is impressive! When toasted, the surface is crispy while the inside is chewy and springy, creating an irresistible texture and mouthfeel. Whether eaten as is or toasted, the deliciousness is hard to compare. The ◯ Yotsuba Butter Cream for 300 yen is a baguette sandwiched with yotsuba butter cream. The baguette is rich in wheat flavor, crispy and fragrant on the outside, and chewy inside. The yotsuba butter cream is milky with a gentle sweetness. It melts smoothly in your mouth, sweet and delicious. Both breads were surprisingly delicious! I would go out of my way to visit this bakery. I'll definitely go buy some when I visit Kyoto again!

After eating ramen recklessly, I stopped by to buy bread on my way back... I went in the afternoon, so there weren't many options available... (I don't know the usual situation, so I can't say for sure...) This time, I bought a croissant and a bread named after the shop... It was chewy and my favorite type of bread. However, the location is far, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to visit again...

I finally got to visit the restaurant I've always wanted to go to!! I arrived around 11 am at the opening time, but there was already a line, and the shokupan was sold out quickly. I managed to get the shu cream puff I wanted and savored its deliciousness (laughs). Every bread was really delicious, so I will definitely visit again!

I passed by... I came to eat ramen but... first, this famous shop here... around 11:45, there were quite a few types of bread left. Even when I asked for recommendations, nothing really stood out... I played it safe and paid 290 yen in cash for the salt butter. Including my past experiences... I took a bite right after buying it... the salt butter was tasty but the thin parts were quite hard... I'll go to a ramen shop. I brought it home but... as time passed, it did indeed become harder and deteriorated overall... it's only been about 3 hours... maybe I should finish it the next day.

Customers started coming in as soon as the restaurant opened, and they close once they run out of bread, so I recommend going early! There were about 5 parking spaces available. The interior of the restaurant is small, and the staff bring the bread to your table. They offer items like half loaf for 420 yen, baguette for 300 yen, salted butter for 280 yen, petit legal for 151 yen, and chouquette for 280 yen.

The bread at Regal is delicious. I have eaten various kinds of bread before, but this place is the best. Even if you have to go out of your way, it's worth trying. They don't have gimmicky or overly sweet bread here, everything is simply delicious. In particular, the Regal and Petit Regal bread, named after the shop, are must-tries. The bread is explosively delicious. Make sure to visit before they close at 11 o'clock!

I was just drafting something when only the photo came out. Met up with my good friend Maru from Nara at Demachiyanagi. Or rather, we were supposed to meet at Demachi Futaba but I arrived early and lined up. Even though I didn't need to line up at Futaba, they gave me this bread as a souvenir for waiting early. Despite being old, they bought me this hard bread thinking I'd like it. It's so annoying, this couple calls me "auntie"! When I checked on Tabelog, age shouldn't matter in relationships. Hmm, I thought, but when I tried it, it was incredibly delicious. Wine, cheese, and a sweet butter sandwich, all of them were delicious. It's a far place, so I thought I couldn't go there to buy, but it turned out to be a bakery. Thank you, I'm happy. Thank you for the meal.

In the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture, "regal+e," a bakery that boasts immense popularity and has been selected as one of the top 100 bakeries in the west, is a must-visit spot. I used to pass by the famous restaurant "Ramen Muteppo" every time I went there. The area is surrounded by newly developed residential areas but is mainly close to mountainous regions with plenty of fields, making access not so convenient. The exterior has a chic design, and it seems to have been renovated before. Inside, there are dark-toned wallpapers with a face-to-face style. Today, they only had four types of bread available: Regal, Petit Regal, Shokupan, and Han Shokupan. I bought the Petit Regal, which seems to have been baked using a different method from the Shokupan. It is said to be the ideal "Shokupan" that Regal envisions. When you hold it, it feels like a ball, and when you bite into it, it has a chewy texture, with the umami of wheat spreading in your mouth instantly, creating a deep flavor. Delicious! Most people might find the location quite far, but I believe it's definitely worth a visit. They often sell out early, so reservations are accepted. Be sure to visit "regal+e."

This is a stylish bakery closer to Nara City than Kyoto City. [Shop Notes] ◆ Selected as one of the top 100 bread shops in the West in 2022 ◆ There were 15 types of bread displayed in a face-to-face style. ◆ It's a small bakery, so they may sell out by early afternoon. [Items received] ◆ Petit Legarl 151 yen ⭐︎3.8 Bread with a unique texture. It's chewy. I usually don't have time to take pictures while eating, but the unique texture was so impressive that I had to capture it. ◆ Sweet Croissant 270 yen ⭐︎3.0 The fluffy croissant was... covered in sugar. Instead of syrup, it tastes like sharp white sugar. Hmm, this might be a matter of personal preference, but it's a bit of a miss for me. I think honey sweetness would have been better. ◆ Four-leaf Butter Cream 300 yen ⭐︎3.0 The baguette is not crispy enough, and the strength of the bread's unique texture backfires. Since it has cream inside, you can't warm it up, and it's quite hard to eat without cutting it. The buttercream, based on whipped cream, is too sweet; I would prefer more butter. This time, it's a bit of a miss for me. I should have done more research beforehand. The staff at the shop were friendly, and it was a lovely place. [Others] ◆ Bread Review 165th shop ◆ Prices include tax.

When I had a reason to go to Kyoto, I stopped by on my way back. Since it was already past noon when I went, the variety of products was already quite limited. Judging from the lineup that was left (I'm not sure how many types there are in total), it seems that there are many simple breads. So, I bought three simple breads and went home. I bought a croissant, a sweet croissant, and a chouquette. They all have a crescent shape. What they have in common is that the dough has a delicious buttery flavor. However, I haven't experienced the essence of the highly praised taste yet, so I'll have to wait for another opportunity.

I visited a bakery I found on Tabelog on my way back from Mujyaki, where I bought two plain chocolate bread rolls for just under 500 yen. I visited around 2 p.m. on a Saturday and found no cars in the parking lot. Inside the stylish entrance, there was one staff member in the dimly lit store. They informed me that there were only three types of bread left, including the last chocolate bread and a plain bread. The chocolate bread was delicious with plenty of chocolate, while the plain bread was just that - plain. I thought it would taste good toasted, but I ate it as it was. Thank you for the meal!

"Pain WEST Hyakumeiten 2022" [Visit] Difficult (located in the mountains on the border between Nara Prefecture and Kyoto Prefecture) 15-20 minutes by Nara Kotsu bus from Kintetsu Nara Station, get off at "Kami Umedani" and walk 3 minutes [Queue] A little crowded, with 10 people waiting outside by 11:20 on Sundays (due to one group at a time inside) [Takeout] Chou à la crème for 280 yen - A popular bread with a moist dough and sweet syrup, crispy on the outside with a chewy texture, and a moist sweetness inside. Popular bread sells out quickly, so it's best to aim for weekdays or right after opening. [Interior] Stylish space.

Although it's quite hard to get to, I've always been curious about this restaurant. It had a good reputation for being delicious, so I visited while on a drive. When I arrived around 11:20 on a weekday, there was a wait for three people. Parking is available on the side. Customers enter the store one group at a time. Outside, there are vegetables displayed without prices, but they were around 100 yen each. Shukureburu 280 yen, chocolate bread 280 yen, croissant 260 yen, half loaf of bread 420 yen. The Regal is made with bread dough and has a high moisture content, resulting in a very chewy texture. It's a creation they are confident in after four years of development. It's not too sweet, so it goes well with anything, but this time I tried the chocolate bread. The chocolate isn't too sweet and is delicious. Shukureburu is a rare sweet item at Regal. The subtle sweetness of butter honey is delightful. The croissant was crispy at first, and later you can feel the high level of butter flavor coming through. Every item is delicious at this restaurant. It's a place I definitely want to visit whenever I'm nearby.

Visit Date: 12:25, Sunday
Wait Time: None
Menu: Since I came to Nara, I decided to extend my visit.
- Gruyère Cheese Roll: I bought it fresh from the oven and enjoyed it in the parking lot. It was soft, sweet, and chewy, with the cheese adding a nice accent. I definitely want to buy it again on my next visit.
- Petite Légal: A recommended bread from the shop with this name. It had no seasoning, allowing you to enjoy the natural flavor of the wheat. Both breads were delicious, and I can see why everyone makes the effort to come and buy them. The shop is located in Kyoto, but I will definitely come back to buy more when I visit Nara. Thank you for the meal.

I finally made it to Kizugawa in Kyoto after taking a train and a bus! It's truly a place worth visiting! Inside the shop, you pick your favorite bread from the ones lined up and have it wrapped for you. Today, since I was hungry, I had four large breads and they were delicious! Good bread is all about the bread itself being delicious, right? Especially the Regal bread! It was super fluffy and very impressive! Thank you for the meal.

I visited a bakery in Kizu, Kyoto for the first time and got there 30 minutes before opening on Friday. I purchased a croissant sweet, which was a buttery and crispy croissant with a delicious sugar coating. It was very tasty!

After visiting a nearby ramen shop, I went to this place for a second round. They were selling vegetables outside the store, and the seasonal vegetables looked great for only 100 yen! I bought some beautiful red chili peppers, which looked delicious. The interior of the restaurant was dimly lit and had a unique atmosphere. The wheat flavor, buttery aroma, and chewy texture of the food were all top-notch. I believe this restaurant is also of very high quality, even compared to those in Kansai.

My standard for bread is simply "Is it delicious even after some time has passed?" It's natural for freshly baked bread to be delicious. I believe the true value is tested when time has passed. In a world where many croissants become soggy as they absorb moisture over time, Regal's croissant maintains a hard texture on the surface even after time has passed, allowing you to enjoy the contrast with the soft interior. It is a croissant of very high quality where you can appreciate the completion. The location is more like Nara than Kyoto, isn't it?

When going to lunch in Kizu, I discovered a delicious-looking bakery nearby on Instagram. Seeing it was ranked as a top 100 store on Tabelog, my expectations rose. The shop was chic and stylish. Everything looked delicious, so I ended up buying a lot. When I got home and tried them, they were so tasty! I'm glad I bought plenty. The bread was fluffy and chewy! It was incredibly delicious with a hint of wheat sweetness. I immediately felt like going to buy more.
