Eating out every day to conquer the top 100 restaurants. Today, I visited a Chinese restaurant in Ryougoku called Kameido Gyoza. This restaurant was selected as one of the top 100 gyoza restaurants in 2021. Kameido Gyoza is a long-established gyoza shop founded in 1953. In addition to gyoza, they also offer dishes like fried rice and ramen, making it a Chinese restaurant with a variety of options. Besides the main store in Kameido, Kameido Gyoza has branches in Nihonbashi, Oshima, and Ryougoku. Almost all of their branches have been selected as top 100 gyoza restaurants. I arrived at the restaurant around 11:50 on a weekday. Since it's a popular place, I was prepared to wait in line, but luckily I was able to get in without waiting. I sat in a small raised seating area to the left as soon as I entered. I ordered fried rice for 650 yen and 5 gyoza for 300 yen. It's a carb-heavy set, but it's a classic set for a Chinese restaurant. Oh well. A few minutes later, a small dish of bean sprouts was served. I was happy to have something light before eating oily dishes. The bean sprouts had a simple taste but were delicious. After a short wait, the gyoza and fried rice were served. The fried rice was quite generous in portion, about 1.5 times the size of a regular fried rice. On the other hand, the gyoza I was looking forward to was on the smaller side. The gyoza had a crispy skin and the filling inside was so soft that it almost melted when I bit into it. They use domestically grown vegetables and pork for the filling, so it seems like they pay attention to the quality of the filling. The balance of the skin, filling, tenderness, and flavor was perfect and delicious. This might be my favorite gyoza ever. The cost-performance ratio is also excellent. This is definitely worth trying.

Today, after meeting with the owner of a Western-style restaurant in Asakusabashi, they brought me here for lunch. I have been to the main branch of Kameido Gyoza a few times, but this is my first time here! We had gyoza, liver and leek stir-fry, and fried rice recommended to us while enjoying some drinks. The gyoza was small but just as good as the main branch! The liver and leek stir-fry was especially delicious! Despite not usually eating liver due to gout, the liver and leek stir-fry here was tender, flavorful, and had a great combination of flavors with the leeks, liver, and bean sprouts. I realized that gourmet experts like the owners can discover delicious dishes like this. It was fun to make such a simple discovery! This review was more like a memo, but it was delicious!

Arrived around 7:00 pm on the weekend and there was a line of about 15 people. We were able to get inside after waiting for about 30 minutes. The dumplings had thin skin. I heard that the bean sprouts were delicious, so I ordered them, but they actually came as a small dish for the appetizer. It was seasoned and tasty, but the additional order of bean sprouts was plain. I thought it would have been better if they were the same as the appetizer. However, the plain bean sprouts complemented the greasy taste of the dumplings and yakisoba, giving a refreshing taste. It seems like they thought about this intentionally. Some customers, like us, just eat quickly and leave, while others come mainly to drink. It's nice that there are different ways to enjoy the food. They also offer takeout, so if I lived nearby, I might consider getting just the dumplings to go. Thank you for the meal!

Located in Ryogoku, the branch of Kameido Gyoza, which has its main store in Kameido. The main store was established in 1953. Kameido Gyoza has branches in Ojima, Kinshicho, and Ryogoku, with the Ryogoku branch being quite different from the main store as it is mainly run by Chinese staff. One of its biggest features is that you can order rice, which is not available at the main store. The price for a plate of gyoza (5 pieces) remains at 300 yen, and there is also a set available with gyoza (10 pieces) and rice for a good deal. Due to its location, you can often see a line of foreign tourists. I waited for about 15 minutes. Today, I ordered the "Gyoza (10 pieces) + Rice" (¥800). When it comes to Kameido Gyoza, the gyoza are small in size, almost like "wan-ko gyoza," crispy, allowing you to enjoy the umami flavor of pork and cabbage. One of the features is eating it with mustard. Since the gyoza is full of umami, every time I visited the main store, I thought about wanting to eat it with rice, so it was good news. The gyoza was brought to me right after I ordered. The beautiful charred marks, crispy skin, and tender pork. I was worried because most of the staff seemed to be Chinese, but the taste was satisfying and no different from the main store. The set came with soup, which is a common soup in town Chinese restaurants, but it had a taste that Japanese people would like, so I was very impressed. I had a delicious meal with good cost performance.

I really wanted to eat Chinese food, so I went to this restaurant. It was known for its dumplings, so I ordered dumplings, bean sprouts, and fried rice. I was surprised when the fried rice came out immediately after ordering. It was fluffy, not too salty, and very delicious. And then, the dumplings. They were very simple but incredibly tasty. They didn't have any standout features, but they were delicious and not boring at all. Thank you for the meal.

Family seating is great, the dumplings come out quickly and the skin is crispy. The chili oil is fragrant and delicious. The best part is that even if you don't order it, you get a plate of bean sprouts which makes you feel like you got a bonus. Being able to eat lots of vinegar is also great. It's satisfying to see the empty plates pile up after you eat. And the total cost is reasonable. I definitely want to go back again. When I left the restaurant, there was a sudden heavy rain shower.

In the 2021 Gyoza Top 100 ranking, the overall evaluation of gyoza restaurants has dropped, with the 62nd place scoring below 3.49 as of August 20, 2023. I ate a large serving of udon, 3 pieces of bread, and soft serve ice cream until I was full, but I'm ready to go to the next top 100 restaurant. I headed to Kameido Gyoza from Ryogoku Station on the Oedo Line. It was around 3 pm, a random time, but the counter seats were almost full. I ordered 10 gyoza with rice for 800 yen, and also got a cola. The bean sprout appetizer was delicious. The gyoza arrived after I finished the bean sprouts. They were small in size and tasted average. After finishing the gyoza, I had leftover rice, so I ordered one more plate. Looking at the menu again, I realized they had bean sprouts. Maybe I should have ordered them too (laughs).

There is no special Bon holiday break in August, and fatigue accumulates. I don't have the energy to cook for myself, and I don't feel like going out for drinks with anyone. Feeling unmotivated. I decided to get my nutrients from gyoza, a complete meal. I left the office. "Okei" is delicious, but it's always crowded. On the way home, I searched for something and found a good-looking restaurant near Ryogoku. I lined up alone and easily got in. The famous gyoza is 5 pieces for 300 yen. It comes with a small plate of hot mustard. I ordered a draft beer, two gyoza, and rice. The thin skin was crispy, and the small size made it easy to eat. I finished it in no time and ordered one more piece. Many people were eating the liver and leek gyoza. The counter was busy with people coming and going quickly. The group of three at the table seemed to be using it as a drinking spot. Everyone was getting drunk. I got my vegetables and meat, so I'll do my best at work tomorrow.

From Ryogoku Station, it took about 5 minutes to walk along the tracks towards Kinshicho without having to wait in line, and we were able to enter the restaurant. We sat at the counter and ordered, and the gyoza arrived right away. The speed at which the food was served was impressive. The gyoza was small but crispy and juicy, a perfect match for beer. We also ordered yakisoba, which was filled with plenty of meat and vegetables, satisfying and delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The closing in both countries? Head to the Kameido Gyoza Ryogoku store! The time was a little past 6 pm on a weekday, and the restaurant was about 80% full. Managed to get a seat at the counter! There were customers outside, but they were for takeout. Unlike the main store, the Ryogoku store offers menu items other than gyoza. So this time, I ordered a highball and fried rice. The staff brought gyoza plates even though I didn't order any, which was a bit funny. The fried rice arrived next, slightly moist and light in flavor. The soup was a bit rich, making it a good way to finish the meal. They also accept QR code payments, which is convenient. Thank you for the meal.

I have been to this restaurant several times. It's not just about the dumplings, so even if you're not a beer drinker, you can still have a great time. This time (as always), I ordered a small bottle of beer, one plate of dumplings (5 pieces), and yakisoba. We sat at the counter, and when my beer arrived, I looked up to pour it into a glass, but then the plate was already... and then the bean sprout namul arrived. The beer is delicious! The dumplings are quickly eaten, so I had about half of the yakisoba before ordering more. The dumplings have a lot of vegetables in the filling, so they are light to eat. The skin has just the right thickness and chewy texture. The person I was with had finished their ramen, so I didn't want to keep them waiting and ended the meal there this time, but personally, I could have had more beer and ordered more dumplings.

Kameido Gyoza, famous for its appearance on TV. The main store is well-known, but they also serve fried rice here, which is delicious. Today, I ordered two plates of gyoza and a small bottle of beer. It came to just 1000 yen. Most people around me are ordering 2-3 plates of gyoza each. The gyoza are small but filled with plenty of ingredients and have a strong garlic and ginger flavor, as always delicious. The thin skin with a crispy surface is great. The cold beer is also fantastic. I enjoyed it all the way to the end. Thank you for the meal.

I love the Kameido Gyoza Ryogoku branch. The gyoza is still cheap and delicious as always, and sometimes I enjoy their yakisoba with a different twist. The sauce is not too heavy and the vegetables are crunchy, which I really like. Overall, it's a high-quality gyoza restaurant.

It's been hot lately, so today I went for some gyoza at this restaurant! When it comes to gyoza, this place is the first one that comes to mind. I started off with a large bottle of beer, gyoza, and liver with garlic chives. Then I added another large bottle of beer and more gyoza, finishing off with sauce yakisoba. I always struggle between ordering fried rice or sauce yakisoba at the end, but the yakisoba here has a unique flavor that I really enjoy. When you drizzle the garlic oil on top, it tastes even better! The bean sprouts here are amazing. I've been here a few times, but the gyoza is irresistible. The texture of the bean sprouts pairs perfectly with it. It seems like regular customers just keep ordering more bean sprouts. When you mix it with fried rice in your mouth, it's also delicious. I want to try the ramen too, but I can't resist the charm of the fried rice and gyoza, so I haven't been able to try it yet. Next time, I will try other menu items for sure!

This is a shop that made it to the Top 100 in 2021. It's a dumpling shop. I ordered a Hoppy for 400 yen and two plates of dumplings. One plate of dumplings with 5 pieces costs 300 yen. The Hoppy itself costs 250 yen. A side dish of bean sprout namul comes as a complimentary appetizer. It has a great flavor. A small dish of mustard comes with the dumplings. You can really feel the texture of the filling inside the dumplings spreading in your mouth. It's a shop where you can truly enjoy the dumplings.

Kameido Gyoza in Ryogoku. The Kameido main store offers mainly gyoza and alcohol with a limited menu, while the Ryogoku store has a variety of dishes such as fried rice, ramen, and liver with leeks. I ordered fried rice and gyoza, and the crispy gyoza paired with fried rice was excellent.

Kameido Gyoza Ryogoku branch. I arrived right after the opening and found empty seats, so I was able to enter without waiting in line. I had already eaten ramen in the morning, so I decided to stop by for some gyoza and beer. It was a hot summer day outside, but cloudy and humid. I quickly drank the freshly poured beer. It was so good! The gyoza arrived soon after. Unlike the main Kameido branch, there was no limit on the number of gyoza you could order. If you order one at a time, they always come out piping hot. The small gyoza come in sets of 5 for ¥300. The thin skin was crispy, and the filling had a juicy texture with lots of vegetables. It reminded me of Utsunomiya gyoza. This is it, this is what I like. A classic gyoza that is simply delicious. I could eat as many as I wanted because they were so light. Even though I had ramen in the morning, I ended up ordering more. The sauce with chili pepper that Kameido Gyoza is known for was good, but I preferred mixing vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, and chili oil at the bottom. It was also delicious and went well with the beer. I thought about getting another glass of draft beer, but when it comes to gyoza at a casual Chinese restaurant, you have to go with bottled beer, so I ended up ordering a large bottle. In the end, I ate 3 sets of gyoza and enjoyed every bite. Total cost: ¥2200. I was satisfied with being able to fully enjoy the gyoza. I fell in love with this casual Chinese restaurant where you can come in without any fuss.

I used it for the second time. The dumplings weren't as impressive as last time. But the liver and leek dish was delicious! Come to think of it, the fried rice here was really tasty. But I was too full this time, so I had to give it a pass.

Kameido Gyoza, Ryogoku branch. There were empty seats. The gyoza (300 yen) was ready in 5 minutes. The texture of the skin was chewy and crispy, the filling was rich, and the balance was perfect, making it delicious! You can eat as many as you want. The combination with garlic chips was excellent! It was one of the best gyoza I've ever had in Tokyo. I liked it more than the gyoza at the Kameido main branch.

Kameido Gyoza Ryogoku Branch offers a variety of gyoza options, including leek and liver, vegetable stir-fry, meat and vegetable stir-fry, ramen, yakisoba, and fried rice. Their fried rice is particularly delicious, with a moist texture and a strong salty flavor. It is made with char siu, green onions, egg, and white rice, and the seasoning balance is perfect.
