I really liked the happy hour drink sale because the drinks were quite cheap. The highball was strong and delicious. The basic chicken broth soup (all-you-can-eat) tasted like MSG, with a strong pepper flavor that goes well with alcohol. The yakitori was also good. They offer an early bird discount until 8 pm, so I would definitely come back before then.

I love yakitori! It's great that there is yakitori in Kichijoji, so you don't have to go to Sapporo. When it comes to yakitori, there's daikon Oroshi (grated radish) and chicken broth for appetizers. I recommend the mochi bacon and iwanoshinsho ginger pork roll.

On the way back from Shibuya, I made a pit stop at Inokashira Park to admire the cherry blossoms, then headed towards JR Kichijoji Station. By dinnertime, Kichijoji was bustling with people despite the pandemic. After being turned away from a few places, I finally managed to get a table at "Sapporo Kushitori Kichijoji Minamiguchi" at 6:30pm with my partner. It's a popular yakitori restaurant from Sapporo with branches in Kichijoji and Ogikubo in Tokyo. We sat at a table on the second floor of the building and enjoyed some chicken soup as a starter. Due to the pandemic, they have limited their menu options, but we made our choices and also took advantage of the drink time service until 7pm. We ordered various grilled items like pork with fresh ginger, chicken liver, chicken skin with ponzu sauce, bacon-wrapped mochi, and more, along with drinks like highball and lemon sour. The food was delicious and the service was great. We finished our meal in about an hour and will definitely visit again. Great job, Sapporo Kushitori!

Local flavor! When it comes to yakitori in Sapporo, Kushi Tori is the go-to place! I was craving it, so I went to Kushi Tori in Kichijoji after a long time. The mochi bacon skewers are a must-have. And finishing off with ikura rice left me feeling satisfied. The cost performance is great, and it brought back nostalgic flavors.

This place has a clean interior. The counter is spacious, the menu is neat, not sticky or worn out. You can also order from the monitor. The yakitori is average. I didn't feel anything special, but the menu has a Hokkaido feel which is nostalgic. The Mega Highball is great! I think I will come back again.

The yakitori and kamameshi at this place have a delicious soup that tastes just like the ones in Sapporo. It's a shame that they often run out of items, but it's worth going before 8 pm for a good deal.

Since it was a first meeting with someone, I couldn't eat too much and just had about 5 skewers while drinking Highballs. We had arranged to meet at 4:30, but the place actually opened at 4:00. There were already a few customers there. Initially, we sat at the counter since there were two of us. They didn't have tablets, so we had to order directly. When a third person joined us, we moved to a table and there was a tablet for ordering. That's when I realized that the Mega Highball was on Happy Hour. The transparent partitions may be necessary, but they made it hard for our voices to reach each other, so we ended up speaking louder, which was counterproductive. Until 7:00, three types of Highballs were on Happy Hour pricing, so I kept ordering Highballs and Mega Highballs. I ended up keeping the drinks coming until closing at 9:00, making it a reasonably priced drinking session at around 2500 yen per person. (As expected, I got hungry on the way back and had a hearty bowl of ramen. Not good.) The drinks seemed cheap during Happy Hour, but might be a bit pricey during regular hours. A friend who is from Hokkaido loves the mochi bacon at this place. They said it's like the Torikizoku of the Kanto region, but much tastier. The skewers were small, but delicious, so I want to revisit and try more variety.

I discovered Kushitori while living in Sapporo. There are multiple locations in Sapporo where you can enjoy dining in or takeout at this yakitori restaurant. I also learned that there is a branch in Kichijoji Station in Tokyo. I intended to buy some for takeout, but I completely forgot and ended up sitting at the dining area. I was served a hot tea cup unexpectedly! I drank it thinking it was tea, and then remembered why I was there! The yakitori was delicious, and I ended up eating a lot. I also ordered some for takeout when the timing was right and happily went home. I haven't been there for a while, but I would like to go back again.

Sapporo's soul food, Kushitori, can be found in Kichijoji and Ogikubo in Tokyo. Almost everything grilled here is delicious. I don't recommend the side dishes much, but the skewers are so tasty that it's not a problem. The alcohol is cheap too, so I highly recommend Kushitori over going to a strange izakaya.
