It's a bit hard to find, but this shop is very popular. They have all kinds of dumplings, including pan-fried and deep-fried. The pan-fried dumplings with lots of ginger are incredibly delicious! The vinegar and pepper seasoning is also amazing! These dumplings are light and easy to eat, and I could easily get addicted to them. Thank you for the delicious meal.

[Visit Date] Dinner on July 19, 2023 [Order] Buttered potato salad, grilled dumplings (4 servings), shrimp dumplings (2 servings), pork and asparagus rolls, multiple drinks On this day, I went to this restaurant with a senior colleague from work. I had been curious about Bataya for a while. It is located deep in the East Street area, surrounded by love hotels. We had a reservation for 7:30 pm. I was a bit wary because smoking is allowed, but luckily there was no one smoking. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was lively. The grilled dumplings, which are the specialty of this restaurant and are meant to be eaten with ginger, were disappointing as they were too burnt. The shrimp dumplings, on the other hand, were delicious with juicy shrimp inside. We drank plenty of beer and the total bill for two came to a little over 10,000 yen. Thank you for the meal.

At a social gathering last weekend, I visited 'Shodai Bataya' for the first time. It was on Friday, June 30, 2023. Known for their delicious gyoza, I made a reservation in advance for my first visit. Located in Doyama, I arrived almost on time at 6:59 PM. I entered the restaurant, took my seat, placed my order, and by 9:45 PM, I had paid the bill and left. The menu included grilled gyoza, chive and shrimp buns, black wagyu lamp steak, salmon yukke, butter soy sauce stir-fried asparagus, pork shoulder sweet and sour, Bataya's kimchi, quail eggs, bottled beer (Sapporo Red Star), draft beer, whiskey highball, and more. The famous gyoza with pickled ginger and grilled gyoza were both delicious. They can be eaten with vinegar and pepper, offering different eating experiences. The salmon yukke had large pieces, well-seasoned, and was very satisfying. The lamp steak, at 300g, was tender and tasty. Overall, the other dishes were also good. At the first-generation Bataya in Umeda, Osaka, a gyoza specialty restaurant, we enjoyed delicious gyoza and tasty meat. The crispy pan-fried gyoza served with shredded ginger is light and addictive. We devoured four servings between two of us. The shrimp and chive dumplings were also delicious. The tender Ichibo beef, whether enjoyed lightly with wasabi or with garlic chips, was excellent. The Menma and potato salad, listed as classics on the menu, were also irresistible. The Menma paired well with sesame oil and became addictive. Despite it being a weekday, the restaurant was bustling with customers, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. Thank you for the meal.

A gyoza restaurant located about 7 minutes from Higashi-Umeda Station on the Osaka Metro in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. The area is filled with many eateries, and sometimes adult-oriented establishments can be found as well. I visited on a weekday. I managed to get a seat just in time, but it might be better to make a reservation. I had two orders of pan-fried gyoza and a draft beer. Hmm, I think one serving of four pieces is a bit small, but it was satisfying and okay. It goes well with pickled ginger. It might also be excellent as an izakaya. Unfortunately, my phone ran out of battery, so I couldn't take a photo of the gyoza (cries).

Second visit. Although we didn't have a reservation, the staff were so nice and managed to seat us. The portions seemed huge - each dish was so filling! We each had two drinks, ordered two servings of gyoza, one serving of shrimp gyoza, menma, and salmon, all for just 2500 yen per person! So cheap! This place might be good for a second or third stop.

Visited with 3 people on a regular day. During work, my senior seemed eager to treat us, so we decided to take advantage of their offer. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten path but seems to be thriving. Both the customers and the staff are lively. We started with potato salad and bamboo shoots with beer, and the food was delicious. Even before the dumplings arrived, the potential for a 4-missile rating was evident. It's been a while since I've seen a 4-missile candidate. When the dumplings arrived, they were amazing. The 4-missile rating is confirmed. The meat and potato chips were also excellent. I'll spare you the details. It doesn't seem like the kind of place where you linger for a long time, but I think it's a wonderful restaurant that can accommodate both a first and second stop. I now understand why my senior felt like treating us. Thank you for the meal. 4 missiles, 4 stars.

I heard that the dumplings were delicious, but when I tried them, they were just okay. They were tasty, but not enough to make me want to eat them again right away. The filling was a bit lacking, so if you want to eat a lot, you'll need to order a lot. The restaurant was very crowded and seemed to be popular. I forgot to take a picture of the main dumplings.

First-generation Bataya! It's the go-to place when in trouble! Everything I eat here is delicious, which makes me so happy! I tried the wagyu beef recommended by the staff, and it was amazing! The combination of the marbled fat and lean meat flavors on my tongue was exquisite! The wasabi was elegant and had a pleasant aroma! As an older gentleman, I prefer eating things that are refreshing, so I enjoyed it with wasabi salt! The seasoned bamboo shoots are a must-have side dish! The gyoza with grated ginger is practically zero calories! So good! Delicious! Bang! (Reference to a popular phrase) Thank you for the meal! Bataya! No doubt about it!

In a popular dumpling restaurant located in a small alley off Hankyu Higashi Street, we enjoyed ■ 2 servings of pan-fried dumplings ■ fried dumplings ■ chilled tofu with buttery sauce. The thin dumplings, cooked to perfection, are best enjoyed with shredded ginger. If you're hungry, you could easily devour around 50 of these delicious dumplings.

Thank you for your hard work. After finishing work, I went to Bataya. I made a reservation and arrived a little early at 6:45 pm, but there were already people lining up because the opening time was 7 pm. The restaurant is not very spacious, so I think it's better to make a reservation. I ordered the classic gyoza, potato salad, menma, konjac, and cucumber. My favorite was the konjac, which was mixed with special miso and wasabi, and it was really addictive! The gyoza was small in size, so I recommend ordering an extra 1-2 servings. It was good that you could enjoy it with the accompanying ginger or just with the sauce. I went with 4 people, and I think we ordered 6 servings. I would like to go again.

I confirmed once again that it is delicious. There are restaurants with few people due to Corona, as well as places that are bustling like this one. It's easy to understand. The must-eat items here are steak and potato salad! Of course, we also had 6 servings of gyoza for two people! It was delicious again today ♡ It cost 6,500 yen for two people.

It was a popular restaurant that was crowded and sometimes had a line, but we were able to get in by sharing a table. The majority of customers were women, with the rest being couples. We tried two types of menma and gyoza. The menma was large and went well with beer. The gyoza had a lot of ginger and the combination of ginger and meat was delicious. The other type of gyoza seemed to be a limited edition with shiso leaves, and it was light and refreshing. We were seated with a group of women, but they were friendly and made the experience enjoyable. Overall, it's a restaurant more suited for groups or couples.

In a small, cozy lodge-style restaurant tucked away in a cluttered neighborhood near Dodan-yama, the gyoza is crispy and delicious with a nice crunch on the outside. The pickled ginger adds a nice touch. There are a few different flavors to choose from, and all of them were tasty. The gyoza takes a bit of time to prepare, so while waiting, we enjoyed some appetizers recommended by the friendly staff. We ended up getting quite full before the gyoza arrived, so it's best to be patient and wait for the gyoza to be ready.

Located on the hill about halfway between Nakazakicho Station and Higashi-Umeda Station, this dumpling restaurant is nestled on the 1st floor of a mixed-use building. Just as we were entering, another group was leaving and heading to the neighboring bar. What a cool idea to hop from one place to another! The cozy interior of the restaurant is small but always seems lively. Luckily, it was full on the day we visited. We started with a potato salad, which had a smooth texture from the egg and a delicious flavor from the black pepper and char siu pork. Then came the dumplings. They were relatively small and neatly arranged on a stylish wooden board, along with shrimp dumplings. And piled up on the side was a mountain of shredded ginger. Seriously, it was a mountain. In China, boiled dumplings are more common, but leftover dumplings are often pan-fried the next day and eaten with shredded ginger and vinegar-soy sauce. Now, the dumplings here were crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and juicy with the filling. So delicious! The chewiness of the skin was just like homemade Chinese dumplings, but the thinness resembled Japanese pan-fried dumplings. The crunchy texture and mild spiciness of the shredded ginger added a unique touch. And the amount was truly a mountain. This would be unheard of in China. It's a blend of Japanese and Chinese styles, combining the best of both worlds. The abundance of high-quality ginger from Kochi Prefecture adds to its originality. While preferences may vary, personally, I love it. I believe this restaurant is one of the representatives of dumpling restaurants in Osaka.

First time at Butaya! Butaya is definitely the best! Delicious!!! And the recommended shrimp dumplings! Eating them as they are, the flavor of the shrimp spreads throughout your mouth (゚д゚)ウマー!!! The crispy skin is really delicious!! I tried bamboo shoots for the first time and they were the best side dish!! I've decided I'll only eat konjac here from now on (lol) Everything is delicious no matter what you eat!! You can't go wrong with Butaya! Thank you for the meal!!

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, so I visited shortly after it opened. It was almost full, and we just managed to get a seat. The people behind us couldn't get in, so I think it's better to make a reservation before going. We ordered some gyoza right away. Since they were on the smaller side, we decided to get two orders for the two of us. They had a quick menu, and our drinks arrived promptly even though the place was packed, which made for a stress-free experience. The gyoza came out quickly too, and when we asked, they recommended eating them with plenty of shredded ginger. We tried it that way, and the gyoza were crispy, fragrant, and delicious. Eating them with ginger made them light and easy to eat, and we couldn't stop. They also paired wonderfully with alcohol. This is the kind of dish that women would love, so it's great for a date. In the end, we ordered another serving and ended up eating three servings each. Thank you for the meal.

On this day, it was Aki's Kitagyo Gyoza Tour organized by Mairevi♪ I was the only one working among the members, so I couldn't make it to the first place and joined from the second place. The first stop was "Shodai Bataya." It's a place I've been wanting to try♪ Inside the restaurant, everyone seemed to be in a good mood and we quickly cheered with a toast♪ For appetizers, we had Chinese jellyfish and potato salad. All of them were reliably delicious. And the main dish, the pan-fried gyoza, had thinly sliced ginger marinated in vinegar and soy sauce on top. This style was amazing! The gyoza itself was bite-sized, with a crispy skin and juicy filling. But the addition of the sweet and sour ginger took the deliciousness to another level. Whoever came up with this idea is a genius♡ If you're not planning to go to other places, you could easily eat about 100 of these addictive and delicious gyoza. Seriously, I think even girls could handle a decent amount here♪ But we still had plans ahead, so we reluctantly left. It was really delicious. Thank you for the meal!
