It was a weekday after the Bon festival. I went to eat for the first time in 4 years. This time, my partner came along. First, we purchased meal tickets. Special dipping noodles - regular (¥1290), Special dipping noodles - small (¥1290), with extra pork. When we arrived around 12:30, there were about 7 or 8 people waiting. By 12:40, we were waiting inside the restaurant, seated by 12:50, and served by 12:57. The dipping sauce is rich. However, the combination of the chewy thick noodles that don't lose to the dipping sauce is truly delicious. I often find rich seafood-based dipping sauces to be too strong, but this dipping sauce has a strangely captivating power and no unpleasantness at all. All the toppings are excellent, and there's nothing to complain about in terms of taste. Personally, I love the flavored egg. And you can reach the end without getting tired of it. Even after a long time, the excitement remains the same. The service is also excellent. I once again felt the reason for its popularity. Thank you for the meal♪

I think this is a perfect place when you're hungry and craving strong flavors. The soup was sweet and salty, so I couldn't finish it. However, the noodles paired well with it. The noodles were chewy but also smooth on the surface. The fried rice seems popular too, so next time I want to try it as a set meal when I'm more hungry.

I tried the special ramen. It's a ramen with three kinds of chashu, peppery menma, flavorful seasoned egg, rich and creamy soup, chewy noodles, and a hint of yuzu as a refreshing touch. It's a ramen that you'll want to eat all at once until the end.

Today, as part of my tour of the top 100 restaurants in Kyoto, I visited the main branch of a famous tsukemen (dipping ramen) shop that has become quite popular in the Kansai region. I arrived at noon and waited for about 15 minutes before ordering the tsukemen with grated yam. The soup was a rich fish and pork bone broth, and the addition of yuzu on top was a delightful touch. The thick noodles provided a satisfying chew. It was summer and I wasn't sure how to eat it, but when I tried adding the grated yam into the soup midway through, it created a unique and delicious flavor. It was a rich and impactful bowl with the thick noodles, leaving me thoroughly impressed.

As someone who prefers ramen over tsukemen, I was recommended by my college son to definitely try tsukemen! It had been a while since I last had tsukemen. I heard it was a famous shop, so I thought they must be really confident in their flavors considering the location and the atmosphere of the restaurant were quite ordinary in a good way. Since the noodles were thick, I opted for a small portion. They offered to add an extra slice of either roast pork or belly pork, so I asked for roast pork to enjoy both types of meat! When it arrived, the shiny whole wheat noodles and pink roast pork were right up my alley. The moment I took a bite of the noodles, the rich aroma of wheat filled my nostrils, and I thought to myself, "So this is the taste of a famous shop!" The roast pork, whether belly or loin, was delicious, and for women, I recommend getting a small portion with 2 slices of meat. It was a bit inconvenient to get there without a car, but I felt that it was a shop worth going out of your way for. I will definitely visit again.

This is a seafood tsukemen. It was my first time, so I ordered the regular one, and it was incredibly delicious. There's a long line even before the restaurant opens on Sundays, so be prepared for a wait. Also, they only serve lunch here.

I have been to R1 restaurant many times, but this was my first visit to the main branch. As expected, the food was delicious. The portion size was satisfying as well. Some people were buying takeout for 6 to 7 people. It takes about 1 minute to walk from the parking lot to the restaurant, but I felt it was dangerous because there were several large trucks passing by.

I usually prefer ramen, but since this place is known for its tsukemen, I ordered the special tsukemen with 280g of noodles. Among all the tsukemen I've tried so far, this one was top-notch. The soft-boiled egg was perfectly gooey, the chashu was delicious, and the pickled vegetables had a slightly sour kick. I usually get tired of tsukemen towards the end, but that wasn't the case here. The parking lot is a bit difficult to navigate.

Located along Route 24, I finally got to visit this restaurant that I've always been curious about because there is always a line. This is the main branch, but they also have branches in the Osaka area. I had their famous tsukemen with all the toppings in a large portion and finished it all. The thickness of the noodles, the punch of the soup, and the generous toppings all have an irresistible charm that keeps you from getting bored.

Once you try it, you won't be able to get it out of your head♪ I went to "Menya Takei Honten" in Joyo City, Kyoto Prefecture for their tsukemen♪ Upon entering the shop, there were 5 counter seats and 3 4-seater raised tables☆ I bought a ticket for Tsukemen for 1,020 yen (tax included)♪ The tsukemen arrived in about 10 minutes♪ The noodles were thick and the soup looked rich and delicious♪ Let's dig in! The noodles were extra thick straight noodles☆ They were chewy and smooth, very tasty♪ The soup was a rich tonkotsu and seafood broth♪ The sweetness of the tonkotsu came first, followed by the strong flavor of the seafood running through your mouth♪ It was incredibly delicious! Highly recommended!! Thank you for the meal☆

Today, I went to Menya Takei Honten in Joyo City, Kyoto after about a year ✨ I was so excited that I went there on an empty stomach in the morning ☺️ I'll say it upfront, among all the tonkotsu and seafood dipping noodles I've had, I think this one is the best. I knew it would be good, but the line was crazy long!! I should have come before it got hot. Of course, I ordered the "Special Dipping Noodles - Regular"!! There's 280g in a regular serving, so it's quite a generous portion!! But that's okay since I skipped breakfast ☺️✨ The special dipping noodles are so luxurious with two types of pork chashu, smoked chicken chashu, seasoned egg, plenty of bamboo shoots, and lots of seaweed ✨ My mouth won't stop watering ✨ The noodles are thick and firm, beautifully presented in a clean line. Dip them in the soup and enjoy!! ✨ The tonkotsu and seafood soup is just amazing ✨ The flavor is rich and bold!! The duet of pork and fish ✨ But it's not overpowering at all ☺️ The scent of yuzu? also plays a nice role, and the mysterious flavor I've been curious about is still there ✨ The noodles are smooth on the surface, chewy when bitten, with a great texture, and a gentle wheat aroma ☺️ The soup and noodles have a perfect balance of flavors ✨ The chashu slices are thick but moist and not greasy, they go so well with the soup ☺️ The bamboo shoots are flavorful and crunchy! They also go well with the soup ☺️ The seasoned egg has a firm outside and a creamy inside ✨ It also goes well with the soup ☺️ Everything goes well with the soup ☺️✨ It's rare to feel such satisfaction with dipping noodles. I'm glad I came! There seem to be other branches, but the main store is exceptional. It's only open for lunch, with limited seating, so it's quite exclusive!! I highly recommend this place and I would like to go again. Thank you for the meal~✨

Visited "Menya Takei Honten" along Route 24 near Nagaike. Arrived slightly after 12 PM on a weekday and there were about 7 people waiting. They must be able to accommodate a lot of waiting customers. There is a waiting room space available. The system is to purchase meal tickets first before lining up. Ordered the "Special Tsukemen 280g." They probably ask for orders in advance to speed up the process. Smooth entry into the restaurant. Interior has counter and table seats. Shortly after sitting down, the ramen is served. The visually appealing dish has a rich tonkotsu and seafood soup with a hint of yuzu. The noodles have a nice firmness. Just perfect! The strong flavor that makes you think "this isn't too salty, is it?" is delicious. I couldn't help but keep drinking it without diluting. Quality of ingredients is also perfect. The black pepper adds a nice kick! It was incredibly delicious! Next stop, "Takei" on Route 1! It was quite a journey to get here (laughs). It's a tough place for a business trip gentleman like me (laughs). Will have to come up with a strategy! Thank you for the meal.

I got off at JR Nagaike Station and walked... Around 12:25, there were 8 people waiting outside... I need to buy a meal ticket at the ticket machine first... When I asked for a recommendation, they suggested the tsukemen... I ordered a small special tsukemen with chashu for 1290 yen in cash. After about 10 minutes, I was seated in the waiting area inside the restaurant... After about 8 minutes, I was seated at the end of the counter... The food was served in about 4 minutes... The broth was quite rich, probably because it's tsukemen... I think it would be delicious for ramen lovers... The noodles were thick and straight, decent... The chashu was tender but had some chewy parts... The egg was average... The seaweed was tasty... Well, time to head back. This was my 97th restaurant, so I have 3 more to go... Shall I conquer Nara or Kyoto next?

Today, I visited "Menya Takei Main Store"❗️❗️ The deliciousness that brings tears to my eyes and the wonderful customer service are still top-notch. Despite being in a remote area of Kyoto with not so great access, it's no wonder this restaurant always has long lines. Truly an amazing bowl of noodles❗️ Thank you for the meal ===========

【Visit Date】April 30, 2023, for lunch【Order】Tsukemen, regular sizeToday was another day of intense training, three consecutive rounds of hell. I no longer know why I'm doing this, time just keeps flowing. The alarm heartlessly rang at 8 o'clock. I put on my wig firmly and headed to my destination after transferring trains at Kintetsu, half asleep. Despite feeling fed up in the morning, I arrived at Tomino-so Station feeling hungry and motivated. I walked for about 20 minutes under the cloudy sky and arrived at 10:20 AM, being the fourth in line. There were only 5 chairs, so it was a close call. Ticket sales started 5 minutes before opening. I didn't have a good impression from two other affiliated stores, so I went for the classic tsukemen. I took a seat at the counter. While watching the cooking process until the dish was ready, I couldn't help but notice that the staff kept their rubber gloves on during money exchange and noodle handling without any intermediate steps. The tsukemen arrived during this time. It was less salty compared to the affiliated stores, but still quite pricey. I wonder why there's always such a long line here. On the way back, a female staff member comedically saw me off to the door. I won't be coming back. Thanks for the meal.

Visited as the second stop on a Saturday afternoon. Arrived before 12 o'clock and there were 7 people waiting outside. Waited for about 15 minutes before getting seated. It was noted to buy meal tickets in advance and join the line. This is the main branch of "Menya Takei," which has 8 stores in Osaka and Kyoto. By the way, it seems that Ichibanya has completely taken over all stores this March. The interior has 5 counter seats, and 3 tables for 4 people each. There are dividers between the counter seats, and the seating spacing is ample. Although there is some slight aging, I think it's kept clean. The polite service also left a good impression. Ordered the "Special Tsukemen Small for 1290 yen" this time. It arrived in about 3 minutes. The thick noodles made with whole wheat flour from Kokoro no Aji Foods have a strong and chewy texture as a feature when eaten alone. The wheat flavor is strong, and it gives the impression of being made by the noodle factory handled by Mitani. Also, I felt a noticeable difference from the affiliated stores' noodles, realizing once again that a slight difference in boiling can make a big difference. The noodle portion is small at 220g, on the larger side. The dipping sauce is again pork bone and seafood. While orthodox, it asserts the clash between the chicken-pork animal-based and the fish-based flavors such as bonito and fish flakes. This robustness is good. Toppings include pork belly, pork loin, chicken thigh, seasoned egg, seaweed, bamboo shoots, green onions, and yuzu peel. Each char siu has high quality and unique appeal for each part. The pork belly has a good balance of fat and lean meat, with a toasted aroma as an accent. It goes well with the dipping sauce. The rare char siu of pork loin has a moist texture and a gentle flavor different from the other two types. The chicken thigh is thinly sliced but very juicy. In terms of noodles, dipping sauce, toppings, and service, I think it's about two levels above the affiliated stores. It seems that you really can't tell the true value until you visit the main branch. Thank you for the meal!

I arrived at the restaurant on a weekday at 1:40 PM and there were 8 groups in line. I waited for about 30 minutes until I was seated. I ordered the special dipping noodles for 1290 yen, which came with extra pork slices and bamboo shoots. Rice was sold out. I haven't been to other chain stores, so I can't specifically highlight the goodness of the main store, but the soup, noodles, pork slices, bamboo shoots, soft-boiled egg, and seasoned seaweed were all top-notch. I felt like the broth had cooled down, but they will warm it up for you in the microwave. I would like to try other famous chain stores as well.

Had lunch at a popular restaurant in Joyo City. I ordered the special dipping noodles (regular size) and it was very filling. The noodles were thick, with a moderate softness, and I think the soup's richness was well-balanced. Finished with a soup refill with chopped chashu and was completely satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I came to "Menya Takei" again. This is my second visit. I had completely forgotten what kind of ramen it was last time because it was before the pandemic. I thought, "It's a famous place, so I might have to wait, right?" and prepared myself as I entered the parking lot, but somehow I managed to get a seat just in time. The next person had to sit in the waiting area, so it was really close. I ordered the tsukemen (regular) with flavored egg for 1140 yen. The appearance is still beautiful. My theory that "there's no such thing as a bad-looking tsukemen" is indeed correct. After a slightly painful? sentimental moment, I started by eating just the noodles. ...Oh, the noodles alone are delicious! Next, I dipped them in the soup. It's a slightly sweet fish powder soup. The balance is just right. Once you take a bite, you can't stop. The man next to me was also eating silently. Ah, it's so delicious, pure bliss. The green onions in the dipping sauce are cut thick but not spicy at all. I wonder if they're soaked in water? The staff also pay close attention. Truly a famous restaurant. It was super delicious. Satisfied!! Finally, I am grateful, grateful to the staff who provided such delicious tsukemen.
